Hey, I wanted to share this Aguilar fanart I made (@luosgaar on Instagram)

Just bought the Ezio trilogy mostly because y'all keep saying it's the best

    Posted: 15 Jun 2021 12:11 PM PDT

Having played BLACK FLAG, ODYSSEY and ORIGINS I have to say...only a couple hours in....Ezio beats them all. I can see why he became the face of the trilogy.

And ho boy is it so much harder. To go from jumping everywhere to getting in trouble if I don't move with a crowd...kind of digging the challenge. Stealth and just being an ASSASSIN in general has a much greater emphasis. Can see why y'all say it's been lost in the newer games.

Still...getting really frustrated with how often he jumps off the wall when I want him to climb up it

Wish me luck on taking a journey from playboy kid sneaking into his lovers window to old grizzled bad ass on one last mission. Looking forward to experiencing this arc!

"New Armor" more like, mix and match reskins of a bunch of pre-existing armors.

    Posted: 15 Jun 2021 11:05 AM PDT

Seriously, this is an insult. They can spend all the time in the world on cosmetics they charge an arm and a leg for, but god forbid they actually give us something NEW for free when they barely included any fucking armor to begin with. This company has become the scummiest in the business.

Valhalla's Mastery Challenge truly shinea a light on how bad the games AI behavior is.

    Posted: 15 Jun 2021 07:02 PM PDT

I can't even count the amount of times enemies have killed themselves or killed a fellow soldier during these challenges. All of the sudden I see how a spotted enemy around the corner just disappears. And there he is.. Dead. It's somewhat comedic, lol.

Anyone else having issues with this during the challenges?

I'm looking for some help with a quote from AC1 or 2

    Posted: 15 Jun 2021 04:46 AM PDT

It's the one where you'll be running or climbing a building, I believe it's the first or second game. Something along the lines of, 'he must be late and she must be beautiful' am I remembering it correctly?

Edit: so I ended up downloading AC2 and getting Ezio to sit on top of something so the NPC's were constantly commenting on him and I caught it! Clear as day 'he must be late, and she must be beautiful' I know that's alot of effort to go to, to find out the quote, but damn was it bugging me.

Basim outfit changes? Or am I crazy

    Posted: 15 Jun 2021 05:51 PM PDT

Ive noticed after this recent update there has been new alterations to the basim outfit like for instance the thumbnail while in the inventory menu has the hood up now and no cloak covering the front. Also we all knoticed how Eivor lost a finger when equiping this outfit, another change has been made that ive noticed, when assassinating an enemy Eivor's hand will angle up now like she's avoiding the blade unlike before when she'd do the regular fist. Im sure im missing something but i thought these were cool additions, not expected as well.

Is Cesere Borgia just Lord Farquaad IRL?

    Posted: 15 Jun 2021 10:12 PM PDT

I left my PS4 at my apartment while I visit home for the summer. Decided to pick up AC Brotherhood on PS3 and play thru it. I keep getting hints of Lord Farquaad from Borgia and I feel like there's no way they aren't connected. Either that, or I'm drunk

Royal demands are a joke (Wrath of the druids)

    Posted: 15 Jun 2021 11:41 PM PDT

Ah yes, remain undetected and steal a document/kill everyone, but the second you step out the bush, an enemy that's not even looking at you will spot you instantly, even through the bushes. I might be misremembering, but I didn't have much complaints about stealth when i played at launch, except the lack of double assassination (which are STILL not in the game ...), but my god the "stealth" is fucking awful now ...

Us not knowing whats up with Otso Berg is a completely artificial mystery. [Odyssey Spoilers]

    Posted: 15 Jun 2021 02:52 PM PDT

There is no reason. Layla and the Assassins still exist. Layla should know better than anyone what happened to him. She should at least know "He was taken to a secret Assassin hideout for interrogation/bait". Or she should know if he's dead. There should have been a file on Layla's computer right from the beginning of Valhalla.

But nope. And not even the DLC had enlightened us yet. It's been two years. I don't think they're saving Otso to triumphantly return as the new playable character given the ending of Valhalla, so what gives?

What stealth difficutly settings actually do

    Posted: 15 Jun 2021 09:57 AM PDT

Well, here I go complaining about stealth again.

Just wanted everyone to know that the options menu now details what the difficulty settings do. Combat is piss easy either way and exploration difficulty just changes the amount of time you've got to waste before figuring out where to go, so I'll just explain what the stealth settings do. Stats for every difficulty from easy to hard:

    Detection slow down duration: 4s / 2s / 1s

    Detection slow down duration while aiming: 2s / 1s / 0.5s

    Search duration: 30s / 45s / 60s

    Maximum number of enemies allowed in search: 2 / 2 / 3

So here we have it, detection speed is not affected by stealth difficutly. I just hope this will shut up anyone claiming lowering the difficulty 'fixes' stealth.

The stealth by the way continues to be awful and now there's an achievement tied to stealth challenges, as some kind of glorious middle finger to anyone trying to go for the platinum trophy. Ubisoft actually put out a guide on how to get the mastery gold medals and even they get detected in their video. This is a sad joke and the punchline is that we keep paying for their broken games.

My first thought was: great they'll try to sell us a 2nd season pass for it.

Wolf Challenges are Kind of Weird

    Posted: 15 Jun 2021 11:48 PM PDT

Specifically, the one for the first mastery challenge. The themes for the challenges are themed like the 3 skill trees. The wolf tree is the ranged one and yet to get the gold on that challenge you are incentivized to literally not shoot people. Instead, you have to blow them up by shooting jars or set them on fire without killing them by shooting them with a flame arrow. Eventually, I just cheesed it by activating the fire arrow ability while standing right next to the archers. Hopefully, the other wolf challenges make sense with like headshots or hit their weak spots or something.

[SPOILERS for Mastery Challenge] Ending of the quest

    Posted: 15 Jun 2021 03:13 PM PDT

After opening the door and obtaining the Eye of Odin, is there anything you can do? Will getting all gold medals trigger another quest? Did someone here manage to do this yet? It would be a shame if we had to wait for another update to continue this small but interesting storyline.

What do you think about Valhalla's alliance-conquest system?

    Posted: 15 Jun 2021 02:55 PM PDT

I'm not trying to start a debate about the game as a whole (again) but to talk just about the mechanic. I personally love the idea and at least, the little time I've been playing, it seems to be pretty solid and logical given the context (just in my opinion). However, I cannot be totally objective about this mechanic because I also love "historical-based" strategy games, Whether Paradox games, Total War, or (especially) Mount and Blade, where conquest is the essential aim of the game.

I've written this post right because this mechanic reminded me of my good times with Mount and Blade Viking Conquest expansion, conquering castles, sacking monasteries, pillaging towns, celebrating banquets with my vassals, exploration within unknown and hostile lands... Valhalla is in this sense the spiritual successor I always wanted for Mount and Blade but we were never given. It naturally does not fit with an Assassin's Creed game, but I think that the majority of us will agree that Valhalla does not pretend to be so neither XD.

In any case, what do you all think about it?

What order should the DLC’s go?

    Posted: 15 Jun 2021 08:05 AM PDT

I haven't paid for any of the DLC's and I wanted to know if there was a particular order I needed to follow? I'm still finishing the game but wanted a heads up for after. Thank you and sorry if this has already been asked!

Thoughts on Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Valhalla?

    Posted: 15 Jun 2021 03:58 AM PDT

I finished AC Origins not too long ago and I thought it was a decent game. I'm thinking of getting into Odyssey and Valhalla. Are Odyssey and Valhalla much better than Origins? I've read that in Odyssey you romance and in Valhalla you can build settlements. For the record I've played the Witcher 3, which has romance and Fallout 4, which has settlements.

Can you retrieve “lost” mission rewards in AC Odysssey?

    Posted: 15 Jun 2021 02:47 PM PDT

I completed chapter 3 last night and unlocked the Cultist menu - I then took out another cultist and got the boots of Agamemnon as a reward - this led me to look into the cultist menu some more and the rewards - after a little bit of googling I realised that I [apparently] should have gotten Agamemnon's Gauntlets for finishing Chapter 3 but I didn't receive them. Is there a way to retrieve an item? Or was my research wrong and I get the Gauntlets another way?

Any and all help would be massively appreciated!
