I've got an idea for a Templar centered AC game

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 09:45 AM PST

I think it would be cool if in a future game Vlad Dracul was made into a Templar and was one of the primary protagonists he's a very controversial historical figure which is why I think he'd be perfect for an AC game. He went through a lot because of the Ottoman's and from what I understand he severely hated that region and since there were no doubt a few Assassins in that region I can see him having a messed up history and hatred for the Assassins.

How would you feel about an Assassin's Creed game set during the cold war or WW2?

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 05:35 PM PST

Espionage is high, the doomsday clock is minutes from midnight, the space race is on, and you are an Assassin trying to keep the world from nuclear annihilation.

Play as a spy from America/Russia, who is initially loyal to his/her country, but is persuaded to join the Assassins. You could take down the templar masters in the governments who are orchestrating the war.

It would be neat if Abstergo was in its baby years, and maybe played a role in the war, then eventually growing and being taken over by the fallen government Templars.

The game could be set in Berlin, with two completely different architectures on either side (like it was in reality). Cross the Berlin wall in stealth, help evacuate citizens, and discover left over Nazi experiments/secrets/weapons.

Side quests (similar to Copernicus missions in ACB) centered around the Manhattan project could be extremely interesting aswell. Perhaps a scientist such as Enrico Fermi could play as a double agent and help you infiltrate and try end the program.

It would also be very interesting if the game were R rated, showing the harsh reality of life post WW2. Maybe there could even be character flashbacks to WW2 for some brutal fight scenes, or mentally heavy scenes like concerntration camps. Perhaps our protagonist could be a survivor from a camp? Or POW?

Let me know what you guys think.

Does anyone think this new Viking game will be more of the same?

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 11:34 AM PST

I just feel like Ubisoft are going to make an exact copy of Odyssey. One or two characters, same engine, same gameplay graphics etc. Different map, probably a large chunk of Scandinavia or whatever, instead of a trireme you'll get a longboat and so on. I really hope they mix it up a bit because while I enjoyed a Odyssey, I didn't really enjoy the map or its size. If you needed to go somewhere it took a lot of walking or horse riding to go anywhere. Which is accurate obviously but my point still stands

Modern Day Assassin’s Creed, video. My friends created this little gem. I am the guy in the white shirt that gets plugged half way through. What are your thoughts for a part 2?

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 06:28 PM PST

Is there anyone who likes playing as Both Frye’s?

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 11:28 PM PST

Is there anyone who likes playing as both Evie and Jacob? I love playing Evie I love my super sneaky stealthy build. And then whenever it's Jacob I'm like "he is a salty top hat with muscles". Don't get me wrong I love both of their characters with a passion but does anyone like playing as both of them? If so, you okay bro?

I feel like everyone has a favorite that they will place a hard preference on.

End Modern Day Debate Once and for all!

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 12:50 PM PST

I was going to post this in another thread but I felt like it deserved it's own.

Assassins Creed was started as a sci-fi game and is supposed to have a proper modern day story.

This is what I and other people fell in love with and what we still want.

Also the entire article is very interesting.

    Source: https://www.polygon.com/features/2018/10/3/17924770/assassins-creed-an-oral-history-patrice-desilets

    Excerpt:

    Patrice Désilets
    (creative director, original concept)

This is not a historical game. It's a sci-fi universe in which you play in a historical setting. And that's important. Assassin's Creed, I said it before — it's a sci-fi story. You go through the Animus. The end of the world is not in the medieval time. The end of the world is in the present time. You're trying to save the world of the present time, and then Altaïr's story is a different story.
He's got this mission, but it's not about the end of the world. It's just go through, like we said, this idea of like who am I? What is going on? Oh, like, I leave my house, which is Alamut, the castle, and I discover — and plus the person I trusted the most is using me, and that's his story, but Assassin's Creed is about the Templars and the assassins through time.
And that's the present time. And we started right away. People thought they were buying this only like sword fighting, medieval game. And we started with, [makes explosion sound] nope, you're in a machine. There's DNA, and this like — I know a lot of people said, "What the? Where am I?" And then again also when you finished and we raised more questions than we answered them, and so people were like, "Whoa, what's going on?" And that was great.

How Assassin's Creed Brings History to Life—and to the Classroom

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 11:41 PM PST

Interesting interview here with an historical advisor to Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed, pointing to the dawn of a new age of videogame 'mods' as teaching tools. "I think we are really just at the beginning of this new era of bringing games in classrooms that are triple-A quality"

    https://egmnow.com/how-assassins-creed-brings-history-to-life-and-to-the-classroom/.

I'm a tech entrepreneur who's looking to games to help people develop their personal skills - http://gameacademy.co.

Has Creed and its historical detail, travel and storylines inspired you in your working life? Or have you decided to make a career in a related field in part because of the inspiration of the game?

Would be so interesting to know your story, if that's the case. Hope you don't mind me dropping by. 🙌

Why does Ptolemy XIII look so old?

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 09:34 AM PST

Ptolemy XIII was only 15 years old when he died and even in the game's wiki he is stated to be 15 yet why does he look so old in the game? You can see in this concept art that he was actually meant to look like a boy, yet in the game he looks about the same age or maybe even older than Bayek. There are actually children in the game so why not make him look like those kids? It kinda reminds me of 80's horror flicks though where high school kids were played by actors in their late 20's or in their 30's.

    [AC: Odyssey] Can Enemies Hear You? {Stealth Mechanics}

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 04:08 PM PST

Seems a little off and I'm not sure if enemies can hear you or not while you are walking or running or even jumping. Just got the game and really is my first time actually playing an Assassins Creed game. Played one of them before but all I did was run around killing people and jumping roof to roof. This one is the first one I'm getting into and the stealth mechanics are confusing me a little. Perhaps the stealth mechanics I am expecting to be there just aren't there at all. Would suck if so, well since this game is called Assassins Creed...

I never understand why Modern Day is immersion breaking for people

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 02:06 AM PST

You spend 30 Hours for the main story in the Animus of a game. They Modern Day Sequences are together 30 min long in every game. Its even much fewer in the new games because the main story in the animus is longer.

I know some people don't like the Modern Day but how did these small sections hurt their long hour animus experience of the game? Sometime you are forced to do them but people act like that the are 10 hours long and hurt their experience while this is not the case. These complains are also the reason why UBI neglect the MD Storyline and made it worse since the Desmond saga.

I think it is a important part of the franchise and give it that cool Sci Fi atmosphere. Also people who don't like it aren't forced go too much into it because many dialogs and logs are completely optional.

    Next Years Assassins Creed hopefuls

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 08:20 AM PST

Recent rumors are that it will be called Ragnarok. I don't believe it at all. For months, Syndicate was going to be called Victory. Also, I do hope that the next game gets rid of the rpg elements of Odyssey. Even though it was a great game, Assassins Creed shouldn't have dialogue choice options. The best formula for an AC game is the map design and collectible designs of Origins, combat mechanics of origins, and Assassination mechanics of Unity and syndicate.

Should I max level before starting NG+ in AC Odyssey?

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 05:41 PM PST

I'm currently level 69 (nice) and wondering if I should get to the level cap before starting New Game+? If so I'll probably buy the DLC since I've completed everything in game thus far. I've explored every '?' on the map, killed every cultist ages ago and now I'm just not sure what to do so in the mean time I've been in love with Discovery Tour. What's everyone opinion on the DLCs? I know they're on sale right now on the PlayStation Store. So I guess now would be the time to get them.

Hello everyone, I bought the Deluxe Pack with the Desert Cobra's outfit but on the beginning of the game, I don't have it yet but I have Edward Kenway outfit tho. Is this normal because I'm at the beginning of the game or something else ?

How much better is Odyssey compared to origins?

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 01:33 AM PST

How much do the new features improve the game compared to origins? I'm thinking in all aspects, the new immersive mode, the two characters thing, choices in dialogue, that mercenary system, combat etc. Is any DLC worth buying off the bat or would you recommend waiting?
