From what I understand Aya and Bayek are buried together, however there's a sarcophagus of Amunet (Aya) in Venezia in AC2 with a body in the Sarcophagus, is there an explanation for this?

[Spoiler] Theory: The Sword of Eden from Unity will appear in the Siege of Paris. Slight spoilers for Valhalla’s main story and Wrath of the Druids.

    Posted: 31 Jul 2021 09:19 AM PDT

Quick note: As the title and flair says, this is just a theory, they can be wrong, which I probably am.

With the one handed sword being added in Valhalla, we have to ask ourselves, why now? Obviously, many in the community (myself included) have been asking for one handed swords to added to the game. But Ubisoft could have added it at any time between the game's release and now. But they chose to do it now. Why release it precisely 2 weeks before the Siege of Paris is released? I find the timing a bit suspicious, because we know that there was a Sword of Eden in France during the Hundred Years' War, which was 452 years after the Siege of Paris, and during the French Revolution, which was 904 years after the Siege.

But u/NotASalamanderBoi, Ubisoft was listening, and finally did it after months of constant questions by the players.

You're right, but why would we get sickles before one handed swords? You would think that if Ubisoft were to add a new weapon type to the game, then it would be the 1H swords first, then sickles, right? And even still, why now? Why not December, or January, or February, etc.? I get that Ubisoft was likely busy fixing the game, and even though there are still quite a few issues that need to be fixed, the game is in a better state now than at launch. But Ubisoft was also working on WotD, as well as the new weapons. So why not release the 1H swords with WotD and the sickles? Maybe it was in order to not draw attention away from the sickles, which makes sense.

This could all be wishful thinking, but the timing is way too perfect. Those who have the DLC, or are going to get it, will have some familiarity with the way the swords handle by the time the dlc is released. Not only that, but the Sword of Eden we know from Unity was wielded in one hand by Arno. Which means that it could be wielded in one hand. Perfect now that Valhalla has 1H swords, right?

Plus, if WotD is anything to go by, we will get at least 1 new Isu weapon with the new DLC. And what better choice is there than a nice throwback to a criminally underrated game like Unity, and allow us to once again wield the almighty Sword of Eden from Unity.

What's also interesting is that at this point in time, the sword isn't broken. For those of you who don't remember, in Unity, the Sword of Eden was broken, and wasn't repaired until centuries later, according to the AC Wiki. But that was in Unity, which, again, is set 904 years after the dlc. So when Eivor reaches Paris, the Sword is likely in good condition. It's possibly the the prized possession of Charles the Fat, or has yet to be discovered. So the Sword can still shoot beams of energy, summon lightning/energy strikes etc. It's basically an unstoppable force to be reckoned with. Ubisoft could work that into an ability that allows you to use one of those features in some way.

That's all I've got. Again, it's just a theory, so don't get your hopes too high, because there is a very good chance that I am wrong. But I'm interested in what you think about this.

OP's note: this was a lot longer than I had intended, sorry about that.

Also, AC Wiki page for anybody who would like more history on the sword.

What happend to the Masayaf keys after ezio returned to rome?

    Posted: 31 Jul 2021 09:42 PM PDT

I mean, since morden day assassins knew (atleast William Miles and others) where altaïr's P.O.E was, wont they be needing it for the war? If so, what did ezio do with those keys? Kept where they were originally placed? Or in his Vila?

Mastery Challeges… very buggy and annoying

    Posted: 31 Jul 2021 10:57 AM PDT

    Spoilers I guess?

OH MY GOD there are so many bugs in the mastery challenges, bad AI, clunky gameplay, bad map design. You have to be literally perfect to get gold on the challenges and it doesn't help when a bug screws you over and then you have to restart the entire mission…

    Anyone else?

Wanting to start playing AC again

    Posted: 01 Aug 2021 12:37 AM PDT

So, I used to love AC back in the days it came out. I played the first 4 titles but then AC 3 happened and I stopped playing. I would like to play the latter open world games but the story line is what concerns me. Do I really have to play every single game from AC3 onwards to understand what's happening? Thank you!

    Where are non-lethal takedowns?

    Posted: 31 Jul 2021 09:05 AM PDT

Seriously. Every Assassin's Creed game has had non-lethal takedowns and combat options since AC Brotherhood. In the Ezio games and the Kenway saga you could perform non-lethal takedowns by assassinating while unarmed, and in terms of combat you could easily beat the whole Kenway saga with your fists only if you wanted to (especially after sleep darts were introduced). Unity perfected the formula by adding non-mandatory finishers and a dedicated takedown button. Origins backtracked a bit, but you could still perform non-lethal takedowns by equipping your fists. Odyssey re-added the much welcome knockout button.

Now, it baffles me that AC Valhalla is the first Assassin's Creed game since AC2 to not have non-lethal takedowns. The same game that prevents you from actually being a Viking and murdering civilians in raids does not give Eivor Odyssey's knockout ability, making her/him into a maniac whenever trying to sneak around. Yes, I know that some of you will say "vikings don't believe in knocking people out". That's fine, there is a simple fix to that: don't knock people out. But Ubisoft should give us the option to choose, instead of arbitrarily removing a feature that has been with us for a decade. It has been almost a year since launch, and non-lethal takedowns are still nowhere to see. It is frankly incomprehensible to me.

Hello, can anyone help me on how to progress? I did all the war effort stuff like brawling and the statues. It says to consult but as you can see the marker is displayed but when i go near it, it disappears and there is no interaction button anywhere. Is this a glitch?

Very excited to be starting AC Origins after AC Odyssey!

    Posted: 31 Jul 2021 09:32 PM PDT

Just to give some context, Odyssey was my first ever AC game and I completely fell in love with it banking over 230 hours to complete the whole game + DLCs.

Having read these 2 games were developed roughly at the same time, I'm happy to know they have a similar open-world concept and system interface. That familiarity will allow me to slip into Origins even more quickly.

Knowing the ending of Odyssey made me realise how much sweeter it will be when I play Origins as I will be discovering the story chronologically.

I have played other AC games (3 and Liberation) and I prefer the RPG open world way of tackling a mission rather than missions that happen on rails (press □ at this exact time or you fail).

It saddens me that there won't be any more AC games similar to Odyssey and Origins so I shall savour Origins while I can! Hope someone can tell me Valhalla is similar although from what I hear it seems to have several aspects that are quite different and not in a better way either.

Ubi should add skill nodes that buff the new weapon types

    Posted: 31 Jul 2021 10:59 AM PDT

Doesn't make sense that they added sickles, 1H swords and are going to add scythes, but don't seem to intend to add skill nodes that buff these specific weapon types. It's kind of ridiculous that a dagger has a higher raw attack stat than a 1H sword or a sickle.

Not to mention how terribly balanced the stats are. It's like they don't even matter.

My take on what AC Infinity is going to be

    Posted: 31 Jul 2021 03:52 AM PDT

There's a lot of theories flying around about just what AC Infinity ends up being. It was confirmed that it's going to be a long-running project, expected at earliest in 2024, and there are even rumours that it is going to be the "last" AC game.

Well the thing is... I've been theorising about Ubisoft creating a sort of unified AC platform/framework/runtime for some time. Think something similar to Garry's Mod - in itself not much, just a sandbox, but it provides an easy way to add content, even cross-compatible content (say, mod A depends on mod B for its functionality). I'm thinking that AC Infinity is going to be exactly that.

Let's be honest, AC games, while they did change a lot from the early days, they haven't changed much on an abstract level. Game mechanics are still incredibly similar to the first games (or rather, to AC2/Brotherhood), and the older games, even at 12 years' distance, are still popular enough to warrant remasters.

I'm thinking that with Infinity, Ubisoft will stop releasing new AC games - instead they'll release new content, new stories, through that one game that will be continuously updated, bringing new features to older games for replayability, or updated visuals, higher resolution models and textures, hell, even bug fixes. Assassin's Creed's main focus was always the story, so if you build a framework that can interpret the same story, but add the details of new gameplay elements, you'll have people lining up to buy content you made a decade ago. This makes remasters, visual updates, etc., much easier, while still bringing revenue - much more revenue since the content already runs on. It would also make it easier to create co-dependent storylines with continuity (like how in certain games you can use your saved game from a previous iteration to "pick up from where you left it"), DLCs, and even microtransaction content.

This would make AC Infinity akin to a streaming platform - you can buy the stories outright, or a subscription that gives you access to all prior content, while the new titles would still cost you, say, half the price of an AAA game title - and if you want the higher quality option, you pay a bit more. Just like how Amazon and Netflix handle things, cheap subscription gives you access to lower resolution streams, and new movies still cost you money even with a subscription. On the long run this reduces the expenses of new games, as well as remasters, extra content, removes barriers like differences in control mapping (on consoles it's a massive transition if you try playing e.g. Brotherhood after getting used to Valhalla), or game mechanics. For a low price of a slightly larger gap without new main content (Ubisoft already committed to another year of new content coming to Valhalla, after the Siege of Paris DLC), players get to experience a more unified game, continuous updates and bugfixes, while developers' work also gets easier. Oh, and this gap also gives the creative team more time to refine the next big story even further.

All in all, I'm very positive about what we know about this new title, and if my theory/prediction is correct, in three years we will have the best AC experience one can wish for.

    Odyssey's Enemies are really strange.

    Posted: 31 Jul 2021 06:42 AM PDT

I just got odyssey and the enemies are insane. They arnt hard to beat (I'm playing on normal with default scaling) but they are so Tanky. I spend five minutes spamming Left Bumper and it just gets annoying. I understand for legendary beasts, Bosses, and Captains, but for normal enemies it just gets old. Great Game though!

    4. Cleopatra (AC Origins)
    5. Rosa (AC 2)

    Moneriggionni Defense (Please Help)

    Posted: 31 Jul 2021 12:16 PM PDT

I've done this about 10 times already on pc and fail every time. It was easy on xbox 360 several years past but rn, it's hard af and for me the cannons turn slower than i've seen on youtube. Can anyone tell me why and what I must do to pass this? I really dont want to stay on nostalgia (for Brotherhood) alone and pass this game, and play Revelations immediately after AC2. I've read it might be fps related, is that so?
