‘Assassin’s Creed’ Live-Action Netflix Series Taps ‘Die Hard’s’ Jeb Stuart to Write (EXCLUSIVE)

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 02:06 PM PDT

Something cool that is in almost every Assassin’s Creed game. (Major spoilers for Valhalla)

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 10:39 AM PDT

Out of the 12 Assassin's Creed games, each is different. But something interesting is that 8 of them allow you to play as a character besides the main one(s). The four that do not allow you to are Assassin's Creed, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, and Assassin's Creed: Rogue. The other eight, however, do. I am not counting modern day protagonists.

In Assassin's Creed II, you play as Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad in one mission through the Bleeding Effect

In Assassin's Creed: Revelations, you play as Altaïr in multiple missions through his Memory Seals.

In Assassin's Creed III, you play as Haytham Kenway in the first three sequences before playing as Connor Kenway for the remainder of the game. You also play as Connor's mother, Ziio, in one Animus loading screen

In Assassin's Creed: Unity, you play as Jacques de Molay's advisor in the prologue of the game.

In Assassin's Creed: Syndicate, you can play as Lydia Frye through Helix glitches and as Jack the Ripper in the DLC.

In Assassin's Creed: Origins, you play as Aya in two missions.

In Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, you play as Leonidas in the prologue

In Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, you play as Odin in the Asgard sections.

Would you play an Assassin’s Creed game set exclusively in the Modern Day?

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 09:26 AM PDT

Obviously it wouldn't just be dull cutscenes, it would be kind of like the first Modern Day section of ACIII. You could do it in like, New York, although the Leap Of Faith would have to be used creatively. It could delve more into the Si-Fi aspects of the games. Also, imagine Leap Of Faithing off the Empire State Building. Perhaps you would have to leap of faith into a trash bin or something. We could also get a crossover with Watch Dogs. I guess it kind of revolves around how Darcy does in August, with the WDL crossover...

    [Fan Art] Assassin’s Creed.

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 04:58 PM PDT

If the title of the next ac doesn’t have something to do with rebirth I’ll eat a roll of toilet paper

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 01:24 PM PDT

The evidence is almost under our noses,

Origins - the beginning - birth

Odyssey - the journey - life

Valhalla - the end - death

What comes after death? Rebirth. While typing this I realised that it could also be about legacy. In both cases, the game could be about a part of the brotherhood being destroyed, and the main character rebuilding it. Legacy or rebirth are the next logical step when looking at previous games.

So the game could be called something like rebirth or a synonym for that, or some god that could resurrect itself:

phoenix (corresponding with the rumour of the next ac game being set in China)

Quetzalcoatl (also a figure that could resurrect itself in Aztec mythology)

There are actually many interesting societies that believe in rebirth

I personally hope that it's set in China because it's my place of birth and I really like the culture.

I don't think we will get an ac game in a while because they're planning on adding content to Valhalla the coming time (Not sure enough to bet on that tho).

So I'm gonna eat an entire roll of toilet paper if the next main ac game about rebirth is.

Assassin´s Creed Valhalla made me become interested in Viking History

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 09:52 PM PDT

Hello fellow Norse warriors! I just want to say that this game is so amazing, it got me interested in Norse history and especially post-Roman Britain! I always thought that Viking history was boring (just a bunch of pagan pirates raiding Christian Europe with great abandon). But seeing how 9th century England was much more culturally diverse than I realized and rife with political and religious tensions was very enlightening. I consider myself a history buff and this game just opened my eyes!

    Posted: 15 Jun 2021 12:23 AM PDT

Was level 10 got annoyed with constantly getting blocked from story missions so used the dlc level boosting to get me to level 45. Now i got a few story missions in and it feels better.

    Does Valhalla story get better?

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 03:04 AM PDT

Currently just started East Anglia story arc, and am just finding the whole story quite boring Just building alliances.

Does it get any better? More focused on Eivor?

Compared to Origins and Odyssey which were my first 2 AC games, Valhalaa story just is not in the same league tbh.

I also loved the stealth and loot in Origins and Odyssey, but both loot and stealth gameplay im finding very poor in Valhalla.

[SPOILERS] Very interesting fact I didnt realise till now but every ac games ,except Rogue, main antagonist were people who existed in real life

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 02:22 PM PDT

I've always thought that maybe a few of the main Villains were real people but I never actually realised that all of them except Achilles or Liam were people in real life. Some of their birth dates or death dates were changed for the game such as Germain. All of the main villains were still real people.

Not just that but some of the side villains were probably real life people as well (I think all of ac 1's assassination targets were real people who died around the same time talk about historical accuracy). This is quite amazing to me as it shows how much research actually goes into creating these games.

For Rogue as well it also has to do with the fact that Shay defects. The guy Shay befriends ,George Monroe, was also a real person.

Edit: kind of messed up on Syndicate turns out the information I got from Starrick was from a wiki fandom lol.

[ACIII Spoilers] I'm in search of a specific soundtrack

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 11:58 PM PDT

There's probably multiple scenes where this soundtrack plays but I know it from the scene of Haytham's whiteroom. I just love the flute and the beautiful melody and I'm in search of the soundtrack without the bells or the dialogue. The scene of Haytham's death is a very emotional moment and thus I associate many emotions with that OST, thank you in advance :)

Any chance for Desmond Miles to have a comeback?

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 08:46 PM PDT

I have only played the games up until Syndicate so bear with me if I don't know the lore fully. Can Desmond come back in any way using a piece of Eden? Can't the shroud of Eden be used to bring Desmond back or atleast recreate him? It'd be fun if in a modern day setting, the Assassin's have to combat Templar Master Desmond Miles (recreated) or atleast have him as a playable character. I know that abstergo has Desmonds dna and even with all the outpour from fans, ubisoft have still not brought him back. He already has a character arc that most ac players know of and he is a more relatable and well written character than layla. What are your thoughts?

Are the smoke particle effects of Huldufolk armor gone?

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 10:10 PM PDT

I have recently got back to AC:V just to find out, that Huldufolk armor no longer shows the black smoke particle effect (neither inventory nor ingame)...I am playing at maxed out graphics and only have the armor, did they change it, so you now have to own the whole set to see the smoke?

Why did they remove the multiplayer mode?

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 01:39 PM PDT

I loved the multiplayer in Brotherhood and Revelations. I guess it wasn't popular. Maybe make a multiplayer only spin-off? Would buy in a heartbeat. Thoughts?

What should I expect from the game? I've only played AC Origins and Chronicles: China, but I've heard that Odyssey is very underwhelming and too big? What is there to expect?

How long is Assassin's Creed 1 to 100%?

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 09:09 AM PDT

Hi! I bought Assassin's Creed Black Flag IV a few weeks ago and I'm really enjoying it so far. I'm also thinking of buying the Assassin's Creed 1 and 2. I did some research but I cant find anything about how long it would take me to 100% the Assassin's Creed 1.

Do you guys know how long it takes to complete Assassin's Creed 1 to 100%?

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 08:02 PM PDT

I didn't play the events when it launched, i decided to do it now, but only the battles against Sekhmet and Sobek appear on the map for me to do, can I still do the Anubis battle?

Fast track Assassin's Creed Origins storyline

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 02:00 PM PDT

So I had a plan to play every game before Valhalla came out and I did (in order) until I came to Origins. I got busy with school and other stuff so I went ahead and bough Valhalla but it's just sitting here. I've already beaten Odyssey because I went Black Flag then skipped a bunch then played Odyssey. So I was wondering what's the fastest way to beat Origins (story) and still understand and get what I need to?

The issue with the modern titles isn't that they're RPG, it's that they're objectively worse.

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 05:07 AM PDT

    I mean, pretty much title.

    But if you want more-

AC has always had some sort of RPG elements. Black Flag and III's crafting was arguably more RPG than the newer ones. The stats and numbers notwithstanding, AC always had some sort of RPG to it.

To be fair, the RPG elements have been taken to kind of too much, and they're basically shit; but today I won't be talking about that.

Discounting the RPG, discounting the terrible writing and the bloated maps, and discounting the heavy MTX pushed by Ubisoft-

The games are just bad. Origins doesn't come in this category though. Origins isn't the best, and it differs from the identity of AC a bit, yes; but the issues I will speak about aren't present in Origins.

    The issues are as follows:

The games are unpolished, shallow and easy.

Firstly (1), the combat is objectively bad and that's a fact. Slashing away a thousand times (after already stabbing them in the neck) to kill a guy isn't good combat. Neither is far drawn-out combat which makes everything feel so distant and loses immersion heavily; with terrible finishers which bug all the time and dumb AI. I am talking about Odyssey and Valhalla

AC never had wonderful combat. In the older games, it was an easy counter kill combat. Unity tried to make it difficult but achieved it only to an extent. But at least it was visually appealing. In AC the emphasis was ALWAYS on the stealth approach. Combat was always the easier but less fun option.

But BUTTON MASHING and HITTING ENEMIES 100 TIMES and TERRIBLE ANIMATION isn't better.

The easiest example is high-level enemies. The high level doesn't make them attack better or do anything special except do more damage and have insane health bars. That isn't a good game system.

    2) "Yeah but you can make an assassin build in the game" you have to invest 100+ hours and make a necessary built to max crit damage and stuff to be able to assassinate everyone in Odyssey. You have to spend enormous amounts of time to develop your assassin ability to just be able to effectively assassinate someone. In an Assassin's Creed game. And Valhalla stealth is just utter bullshit. Social stealth is basically useless and one hit assassinations are not of any worth when the entire system of stealth is completely broken. If you're one of those guys who had a great time with stealth experienced no issues- I'm happy for you. But this is not about you. Please stay quiet.

    3) The gameplay loop is terrible.

What ... I have to explain that too? ... Fine.

Assassin's Creed never had very varied gameplay so to speak, but it always had IMMEDIATE gameplay and fun in each moment. The movement was gameplay- parkour required thought. In the Ezio games and 1, and Unity, especially so. To an extent in the Kenway saga and Syndicate too, tho less.

There is map bloat in the newer titles, with tons of shit to do with no intrinsic motivation to do it. Whistle to your horse and follow road for 5 mins to get to a place where you have to kill a bunch of dudes and loot a chest- and you may try to be stealthy but either you won't be able to assassinate one dude who's like other dudes but with a golden number above his head; or a guard will instantly detect you with no detection meter and hawk eyes.

    Pretty neat, right?

    4) Miscellaneous - the camera angle for instance is so ludicrously bad, especially in Valhalla. There is no immersion. The sense of style and oomph which defined the earlier titles is just gone. There is nothing special about the way you move, the way you kill, the way you fight. The dialogue options (DISREGARDING THE FACT THAT THEY ARE LOREBREAKING) are basically useless with no real decision which heavily affects your story. This should be good because THE STORY IS ALREADY SET WE ARE VISITING THE ANCESTOR'S MEMORY but the entire Ubisoft marketing of choose your odyssey and shit is just dumb. The endings are hardly different (at least in Odyssey) where your choice just changes who dies and who lives. But Ubisoft does Ubisoft I guess. And we already know gender options are stupid, and Ubisoft is a shit company that think having a woman as the main protagonist won't work.

    5) Style- this was mentioned in 4 but especially so in 5 because the identity of a character in Assassin's Creed is - hidden blade, cool hood, on the rooftops, hidden amongst citizens, many tools, sneaking and fooling the enemy, slashing and killing them in fluid stylish motion, and gone when the smoke clears.

In these games, there are no roofs, there is no social stealth, there are no tools, there is no style (the animations for assassinating someone are very very shit, except that one animation in Valhalla of air assassination which looks like a classic assassination), there is not even a hidden blade in Odyssey (!!!) and hoods and hidden blades aren't important in Valhalla because of instant detection through a fucking wall.

    In essence, disregarding the blatant RPG mechanics and the dependence on arbitrary stats and numbers- and the bloated storyline and the huge map and the complete disregard of the AC lore and the guideline as to how you make the game;

They're unpolished, shallow, with easy unthinking mechanics in basically every front- movement, combat, etc (stealth isn't even important to AC now haha!). Origins is a bit better as it is polished and refined and actually has, you know, a good story in respect to the AC lore? But it still suffers from some elements the other games have - the RPG stuff and the level-gating and so on. But as I said, we won't even be discussing that.

    It's rather simple, really.

    The games suck.

    That is all.

What's a retcon in the Assassin's Creed series that you actually like?

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 01:20 PM PDT

When it comes to retcons, a lot of people tend to look down on them, seeing them as lazy plot conveniences that step on the efforts of past writers to create something original. However, just because they are prone to laziness, doesn't mean they can't be made good. A great example of a retcon in recent times was in Rogue One regarding the Death Star (won't say anything further to those who have not watched it yet).

Anyway, I was wondering if there were any retcons in the Assassin's Creed universe that you actually appreciated as fans or gamers or both!

SGA Dealing with snakes in origins

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 05:45 PM PDT

The upgraded smoke bombs that knock enemies back will kill snakes on any difficulty. Whenever you hear the combat cue, tap light attack and then deploy smoke, BOOM, no more snakes. Even in Alexander's tomb where there is at least 10-12 snakes spread out a good bit.
