I hated AC Unity until I loved it. Posted: 22 Apr 2021 02:15 AM PDT I had a bit of a strange playthrough of the Assassin's Creed franchise. I played ACIII as a kid and loved it. Syndicate was free last year on Epic Games and so I played that, which really took me into the franchise. Since then, I've played chronologically and when I finally got around to Unity, to say I was displeased would be a bit of a understatement. The combat system was different (even from Syndicate, which I enjoyed), movement and parkour looked fantastic but was a true struggle to control, and the story felt really dull. I could hardly understand what was even going on. I quit after I finished Sequence 6. I went back to Syndicate and had a blast playing the Jack the Ripper DLC. When I finally came back to Unity, it felt like a switch had flipped. Suddenly, the plot seemed clear, straightforward, and engaging. After a bit of a refresher in Syndicate's parkour, I got used to Unity's. The story got a lot more interesting, as Arno met up with Elise again. The black box missions are awesome, just slightly better than Syndicate's in my opinion. I completed the main story, but I still have the Dead Kings, plus, nearly all of the side missions to do. The only bummer is that I don't know anyone who plays Unity, so the co-op missions are going to be a little more tough. All in all, Unity really takes some getting used to, but it's now become one of my favorite titles, if for no reason but simply the awesome level design. [link] [comments]
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Mission, Canon, Cultist, Romance, & Crew Guide Posted: 22 Apr 2021 11:27 PM PDT This is the full list of missions in the game Assassin's Creed Odyssey with notes at the end of each chapter describing any important choices. This will not be every choice. I will also make note of which choices are the closest to canon per the book. Per the book and other lore, Kassandra is the canon character and you cannot change your chosen character until NG+. At the end, I will also list potential romances and Adrestia Crew Members. Please note that some quests have full quest lines attached that are necessary to complete them. This also will not be notating timed quests and quest board missions. It is recommended to complete the Main Story, then Atlantis, then the Cultist Questlines. A star (*) symbol next to a side quest means that it only appears after certain story missions. Please note that the Crew Guide only includes unique characters that are not recruited by knocking them out (some crew members may need to be verified). All told there are 552 total (unique and non-repeating) missions.
QUEST GUIDEMAIN STORY Prologue
Notes: This is not replayed during NG+ Episode 1
Notes: There are no major choices in this chapter, though it is recommended to play the Blood Fever" side mission Episode 2

Note: Kassandra convinced Alexios that the cult was manipulating both of them during "Doing Time". Episode 9

I am so, so glad the Valhalla expansions aren't episodic like Odyssey's. Posted: 22 Apr 2021 02:21 AM PDT That was honestly pretty annoying in Odyssey. Valhalla definitely is handling it better in terms of just having them be large, full on expansions(with entire new countries, Ireland now and France next) to explore. [link] [comments]

IMO: The AC Games Need a Break Posted: 22 Apr 2021 04:30 AM PDT I have just recently finished Valhalla and while I enjoyed most of the story and general feel of the world, it just didn't feel like it fit into what an AC game should be. Now the topic of the more recent games being a massive departure from feeling like an actual AC game isn't a new topic so I won't go down that rabbit hole. What I want to discuss is what Ubisoft can do for us in the future. It's my opinion that the assassins creed franchise needs a break. Ubisoft has backed themselves into a corner with the recent change to the open world RPG format for AC, splitting the fan base between those who loved the older games and those who love the new format. They have tried ,haphazardly, to provide an all in compassing experience in Valhalla. But it just failed to deliver what it means to be an assassin. For one you are not an assassin, coupled with the lack lustre stealth mechanics that barely function at the best of times and it just seemed like a rushed failed attempt to pander to the older crowds. I think Ubi should wait on releasing any new AC games for a year or 2, re-evaluate what it means to have an AC experience and create a new identity for the franchise going forward. They have Immortals to fill the RPG game void and they are remaking Sands of time to give us some parkour action in the mean time. I think they have lost their way and need a fresh start, and Valhalla ending leads into this quite well. What direction would you like the franchise to go in the future? [link] [comments]
AC Odyssey: can’t fully upgrade the spear Posted: 22 Apr 2021 08:03 PM PDT So I recently got a PS4 for my B-day, and of course I had to pick up odyssey. I've beaten the main odyssey, killed every cultist, and sealed Atlantis. But for some reason, I don't have the last artifact fragment that I need to finish upgrading the spear of Leonidas. Am I missing something? I've looked up this problem on the internet but all it brings up is old conversations with no solution. [link] [comments]

Which ia the saddest death in all of the AC universe? Posted: 22 Apr 2021 10:44 AM PDT Personally Black beards death in AC black flag is the most emotional for me. The setting, Black beard himself and his qmazing friendship with Edward. Dame. The scene always stirs up emotions. [link] [comments]
[SPOILERS] Assassin's Creed Valhalla Story Analysis Part 10 - Historical Ending Explained Posted: 22 Apr 2021 08:11 AM PDT
Assassin's Creed game length: too long or value for money? Posted: 22 Apr 2021 07:55 PM PDT Hi all, I thought it would be interesting to look at the length of each Assassin's Creed title using data from howlongtobeat.com. According to these figures, it would take 778.5 hours to complete all games fully. This would be 32 days straight, or 97 days if playing 8 hours per day. The original title took roughly 32 hours to complete, while Valhalla takes roughly 131 hours to complete, roughly four times as long. The increase in game length with the last few titles has led to many on this sub calling for shorter games. Another position is that Ubisoft are now creating full fledged epics and that their size and scale represents greater value. Please discuss, I would love to hear your thoughts. [link] [comments]

Assassin's creed: brotherhood - Assassin's guild and last weapon Posted: 22 Apr 2021 05:12 AM PDT How does assassins guild experience work? I've just unlocked them so I'm farming for now and tbh that's also really fun. Like will they get bigger in numbers or do they unlock new weapons? Also whats the weapon above the fists in weapons selection? That's the only one I have left. 2 handed weapons is my bet. [link] [comments]
Aside from Patrice, was there anyone else who was “pushed out” of their position? Posted: 22 Apr 2021 01:45 PM PDT Lets be honest, he was straight up betrayed because Ubisoft wanted to cash in... were any of his like-minded peers/friends edged out as well? I know a lot of us wonder about the trajectory of the series, and how AC3 was probably somewhat inspired by Patrices vision. Were there any other suspicious "resignations" from the AC team? On a personal note, I think its kind of a shame that his team continued on without him. I would have wanted to go on strike until they hired him back and gave him full control. [link] [comments]

Anyone read the Valhalla Comic-Books? Posted: 22 Apr 2021 10:14 AM PDT I am interested in buying "Song of Glory" the Valhalla Comic-Book story. Looking for reviews/recommendations, those I have seen online are a bit over the place. I would like to see a perspective from a AC fan. [link] [comments] |
