A small reminder about excellent manual saving system in Odyssey Posted: 12 Jan 2020 11:45 PM PST So, is this subreddit is monitored by Ubisoft? Yes? Good. I'd like to say a few words about one very, very excellent thing in Odyssey - manual saving. As all the players know, you are able to save in any safe location in the game, and if you load the save, you'll spawn at the exactly same place you saved. This system was used in so many RPGs and I was really glad that it came to Assassin's Creed series too. Why is it important? Well, while I play Odyssey, I can not just to spawn and make action like it was in AC games before, but to make my own story with such small details like where and when my character move and for what reason. In simple words, it's the complete control of your character and story around her/him. It's a vital thing for role-playing even in not role-playing games. I really hope that in the next Assassin's Creed game this feature will be included as well. Even if it won't be an RPG, manual saves will make it feel like it is. Thank you for your attention :) [link] [comments]

Has anyone ever compiled all the encyclopedia entries from the AC games? Posted: 12 Jan 2020 04:19 PM PST Question from above. I'm replaying the series and at the end of each game when I've 100% it I take an hour or 2 and just browse the encyclopedia. It's something the devs work hard on and I think is under appreciated. I know there's a user in here who compiled a massive codex for all AC. Just wondering if a similar thing had been done for encyclopedia [link] [comments]
I’m a junky for this franchise. And I loved Odyssey but Posted: 12 Jan 2020 08:47 AM PST . And in the grand scheme this is nit picking. But I really don't like the fact that the assassinations in that game didn't have the confession scenes. (I also had this issue with unity) They really helped flesh out each target you killed and understanding their motives. Origins had some of the best of them. [link] [comments]
For those with the Rebel Collection... Posted: 12 Jan 2020 04:40 PM PST How is it? I own it on PS3 and PS4 but it seems like the switch versions has all the content that was missing and more. Is it worth the double/triple dip? Also, what new costumes are in? Is the Haytham outfit that was restricted to those silly figurines in the game? Thanks again! :) [link] [comments]

Multiple Themistokles on Kephallonia scrolls? - AC Odyssey (slight spoiler) Posted: 12 Jan 2020 07:53 PM PST I just told the guy in The Blind King quest about the Zeus statue on Kephallonia and I got 2 Themistokles on Kephallonia scolls. It's a bug and it is slightly annoying but deff not game breaking. I'm curious if anyone knows how to fix it or if it just automatically happens. And if there is no fix will this bug screw me over in any way? [link] [comments]

Odyssey is a Depressing attempt at an Assassins Creed game. Posted: 12 Jan 2020 04:00 PM PST Do you agree I hated Odyssey. Let me explain. For one, the most obvious thing is that it takes place way before the creed was born by Bayek. Two, the main protagonists can do the leap of faith, which was also something Bayek was taught and contained meaning, and Alexios and Kassandra are empty charecter models that have no character due to the dialogue choices having no effect or consequences, and dialogue choices shouldnt even be in the game. Thats just the main story, Legacy of the First Blade is worse but my fingers are cramping. [link] [comments]
Is it a bad idea to get all the question marks? - AC Odyssey Posted: 12 Jan 2020 07:10 PM PST I know people can get burnt out trying to do them all but that's not why I'm asking. I'm asking because I've heard if you complete a certain question mark, The Blind King quest gets bugged. Are there any other ones that will mess anything up? [link] [comments]

My current thoughts on Odyssey. Posted: 12 Jan 2020 09:01 PM PST I went in with high hopes, but as soon as I reacher the "Ubisoft Presents" title screen I said "You're kidding me?" 45 minutes just to get the title to pop up. The first game I played in the series was II, that title sequence showed in the first 10 minutes (maybe less) of playing as Ezio. Now, I am going to be going through pros and cons. The Map. My. God. The Fucking SIZE. I love it, don't get me wrong, I appreciate how Ubisoft is trying to put in more of an entire country rather than city, the beauty, the places to hide and synch, but that comes with a downfall. I feel as it's not the size of the Map but portions. Example, today I was roaming a specific section (Rank 11-13), move over one, it took 3 deaths to realize it jumped to rank 40-45. So the whole rank scaling thing isn't an issue, it's just where it's placed. Level enemies soon grow into God's basically. Which brings me to the next one. The Bounty/Mercenary tiers. It's a neat add to what was showcased in Origins. But, it's like a Wanted Level in GTA Online, it's harder to shake than it should be. Meaning kill one, another random leveled one shows, could be stronger, could be weaker. I don't mind them being after me, but alot of of them are faster on foot than I on a horse. Naval Combat. This I can tell was meant to be a Black Flag style mechanic. It's not bad, I just have to get used to having weak weapons, which reminds me, Crafting for Ship upgrades. Oh Olive Wood, I can get tablets, iron and Drachmae easily but you, 2 pieces for a 5 foot tall tree. I wish it was easier, raid a lumber yard or enemy ship. The Button map special abilities. It's been a minute since I played Origins so refresher, was that a thing? Aside from that, there's nothing that gets under my skin completely, maybe a plot hole or 2 but I'm not gonna spoil it too much. My current rating is a 6.5/10. Yeah it has a few downfalls, but I think I can find a loophole or a few. What game doesn't have a downfall, and plus I've still got plenty of Greece to explore. I will evaluate after all is done. What does the Monteriggioni value number mean? (Assassin's Creed 2) Posted: 12 Jan 2020 05:10 PM PST I was wondering what the value number actually means when managing Monteriggioni. I understand the 20 minute rates, that's quite simple to understand. However, I'm not quite sure what the value number actually means. I thought it was the maximum amount of money that could be stored in the chest at once, but that's not it. Any help is appreciated! :) [link] [comments]
How the absolute hell do I beat the games on the homestead? Posted: 12 Jan 2020 10:43 AM PST I have been playing for hours on AC3 Remastered trying to get the "Original Gamer" trophy. I played it for nearly 4 hours, then began to look up guides. So then I downloaded a 9 Mans Morris app, put it in the highest difficulty, and AC3 still kills me every time. I even looked up one online that did nearly 10,000,000 calculations per move and AC3 STILL BEAT ME. I am loosing my mind over this trophy and I've not even moved on to Fanorona yet and I hear it's even worse. I'm so tired of this. It is making me want to just give up on the platinum all together but this is my last trophy. Edit: I finally beat Morris, but now Fanorona is kicking my arse. I'm over it. [link] [comments]

What are these light blue quests? Posted: 12 Jan 2020 12:15 PM PST So I got Odyssey when it first came out but really didnt have time to delve into it. I'm starting over. Anyway I've just run into this light blue quest marker that has me go through like a portal. It was weird after the loading screen a different faction power controlled the region I was in. I kinda panicked and reloaded a previous save file. What are these things? [link] [comments]
AC: Odyssey For Beginners- Tips To Easily Kill The Erymanthian Boar Posted: 12 Jan 2020 04:26 PM PST (Note: This guide is aimed at players with less experience in the game's content and/or less skill in this genre. It is NOT for series veterans or gamers who excel at similar gameplay and play for challenge. Constructive feedback is welcome, but please be respectful to those who haven't devoted the same practice and/or patience to Odyssey as you. I will indulge NO insults, comment wars, bragging, or "Get good, scrub" rhetoric) Here are eight tips from my personal playthrough (as Kassandra) on how to quickly defeat the Erymanthian Boar: 1) Be Prepared As many fans will corroborate, this is the most difficult enemy of the Goddess of the Hunt quest-line as well as one of the hardest bosses in the overall game. Even on easy difficulty, it demands strategy, patience, concentration, and timing. It's ultimately up to you when/how you choose to face it, and you may prefer or discover a different tactic from mine. Just know that playing recklessly or trying to tackle this fight head-on will VERY quickly get you desynchronized. Whether you decide to save this hunt for last (like I did) or complete it right away before any of the other legendary beasts, you should treat this as a serious battle. I don't recommend doing this quest without some strong gear equipped. 2) Know Your Enemy In terms of basic attack patterns, this boar uses about the same move-set as its Kalydonian counterpart. When you enter its arena, it will immediately be alerted to your presence so there's no opportunity for a preemptive stealth attack. Treat this boss essentially as the Kalydonian Boar on steroids. It is just as fast, has more health, does more damage per direct hit, and has a unique ability that can be particularly frustrating. Before we get to that, let's cover the basics. Depending on how close you are to the boar, it will most likely start off with one of four attacks. At a distance, it will charge at you on a straight path or run in a curve toward you, the latter leading into a jump that ends in a sliding strike. The boar entering its straightforward charge attack Be especially careful of the slide-charge, as this is the most damaging of all its attacks (at least, in my experience), has the widest hit-box of its melee attacks thanks to those huge tusks, and can knock you several feet away. The boar entering its sliding charge attack At close range, the boar will typically try to force you back so it can resume its ranged attacks. It may turn continuously to try and ram you with its tusks, knock you straight back, or unleash a roar with an unblockable invisible shock-wave. The boar pushing the player back with its roar What makes the boar most problematic, however, is its aforementioned special ability: POISONOUS FARTS. Yes, this beast's secret weapon is passing gas that is as deadly as it is non-silent and will drain your health chunk by chunk. The poison itself is non-lethal, but can rapidly leave you on your last bit of red. It's difficult to predict exactly when the boar will activate this move, but I noticed that it tends to happen most often after a roar or curving slide-charge. The poison's range varies from short-range farts to longer-ranged poison clouds. Unfortunately, no matter how many times I tried, I could not totally avoid damage from this move. Not to worry though, as my next tip can counter its effects. 3) Max Out Second Wind Of all the unlockable abilities in Odyssey that can turn the tide against challenging opponents, this was a MUST for me to win against the Erymanthian Boar. If you want to avoid needless aggravation in this fight, Second Wind is a big help. While it is definitely possible to win without this ability, considerably more skill would be required to do so. I attempted this fight with Second Wind only unlocked to level 2 and died at least 10 times before choosing to quit and return later. The reason this specific skill makes a difference is because, upon upgrading to level 3, it not only heals 50% health but removes any/all effects of fire & poison (This does NOT mean you'll have permanent immunity to them, it only heals you). Keep an eye on your health throughout the fight and restore yourself whenever it falls below half if you can. Spend your adrenaline wisely, however, as the Second Wind ability takes a few seconds to regenerate after every use. 4) DODGE! Whatever you do in this fight, DO NOT stand in one spot. As said, this boar is quick on its hooves and gives you little time to regroup (2-4 seconds on average, perhaps longer if you're recovering from being knocked down) between attacks. It's too strong to parry even with perfectly timed button presses. Always stay on the move during this battle, including while firing arrows. If you can keep yourself at a distance, good. If not, get out of the enemy's path fast. It will most likely close the distance between you at least once, but don't panic. As with any combat, never take your eyes off the target and try to time dodge-rolls well to regain adrenaline as well as getting a slow-motion attack opening. If you struggle with this, don't get frustrated or discouraged. With every attempt, you'll improve at learning & anticipating your foe's A.I. patterns. Practice makes perfect, even if you die a few times (Think of it somewhat like a Dark Souls fight). 5) Close Combat Is NOT advised You're welcome to try to win this way if you're a player who prefers getting up close & personal, but I found that keeping my distance was overall easier. Yes, the boar is vulnerable at close range due to its size making it a much bigger target. Its ranged attacks are also rendered useless if you keep hacking, slashing, and stabbing away. As said, however, its roar will inevitably push you back so you'll have to close the gap quickly again if you want to keep up this approach. This method can potentially end the fight faster, but it's still not the smartest in my opinion. I tried cornering the boar in its cave with my strongest attacks, including Battlecry of Ares, but kept getting roared back or killed before I could heal. You're better off just relying on your bow, only engaging at close range if/when the boar gains on you (after a perfect dodge briefly slows time down) before moving away again. Hero Strike is a good choice to equip, it's quick & effective. 6) Do NOT Be Stingy With Arrows Arrow strikes that don't use special abilities will help refill adrenaline and are generally useful for whittling down the boar's health. Every chance you get, craft more of whatever you're using (You can't craft while poison is in effect, I tried). If you're not a skilled shot, don't waste adrenaline on abilities like Devastating Shot. Even a successful Devastating Shot to the head only shaves off a small chunk of health at a time compared to adrenaline expended. A player manages to line up a Devastating Shot kill The risk vs. reward just isn't really worth it in this instance. You won't have much time to use a special arrow attack before the boar closes in again anyway. So long as you have arrow materials, you can simply pepper it with body shots. 7) Friendly Fire There are flammable containers at multiple spots within the boar's arena (Ex- A few are located in the middle area, to the left of the beast's cave). You can use these to your advantage with well timed flaming or exploding arrows. Three flammable containers are visible to the right, just above the onscreen hint As always, make sure you're not too close when it's ignited. Depending on your character's position, the boar may sometimes charge and/or slide right into the containers too (He's a tough animal, but not the brightest) so be careful. 8) EXPLODING Arrows Are Your Friend Apart from Second Wind, this was my other life saver in the final push to victory despite exploding arrows not having the highest damage in your quiver. I tried death arrows, but they just didn't do enough damage and I barely had time to aim. While exploding arrows aren't as useful for one-hit kills, their biggest benefit is stun-locking an enemy. By unloading barrage after barrage, you can keep him/her/it on the defensive, chipping away at the target's health until it falls. Some may call this cowardice or breaking the game, I call it cunning. If it gets results, then I say go for it. ABUSE THE CRAP out of those arrows! It doesn't matter where you hit the boar, just keep firing away until your supply is depleted. The moment you run out (You won't likely kill the boar before this happens), open your inventory and craft more. As said, you cannot craft while poisoned. If it's still in effect, simply dodge away and wait until Second Wind can nullify it. Without question, this turned the odds around in my favor. By pouring on the explosions and not giving the boar a chance to start advancing toward you (It may not even be able to use poison while stunned), it's only a matter of time. Bonus: This is less of a tip and more of a head's up. Unlike the Kalydonian boar, the Erymanthian won't call other boars for help (Thank God) but an animal may randomly enter the arena from outside. For me, it was always a bear. Not to worry though. The boar will usually kill it and I appreciated the momentary distraction for allowing me a few easy hits. These are all my tips for earning yourself an Erymanthian pelt and a HUGE barbecue! Comment below, was this guide useful to you? Did you find an easier strategy? Feel free to compare notes, happy hunting! [link] [comments]
Posted: 12 Jan 2020 12:04 PM PST I haven't played in quite some time. I didn't know that user created stories had been added until today when my son decided to jump back into the game. He found a user created story that he wanted to play but all of the enemies are about 12 levels above him. I did some searching but couldn't seem to find an answer. When creating a story does the creator set an absolute level for the enemies (enemy level = 34) or does he set it to scale (enemy level = player level+12)? I'm just not sure whether to tell my son he needs to level up and come back or essentially just tell him to "git gud" because it's designed to be difficult with enemies higher than the player level. Any help is appreciated! [link] [comments] |
