Please give us back ability to assassinate unnotice guard!!!!

    Posted: 30 Jan 2020 10:39 PM PST

As the title after syndicate we no longer can assassinate unaware guard after conflict. The game force us into combat mode and we have to wait until stealth mode again and that is stupid. Remember when the whole group chasing us and we use air assassinate to quick drop down of a building which is cool? We need it back. And also please bring back the chasing sequence quest, this is how AC suppose to be.

Critical Assassinate is a bad superfluous mechanic

Critical Assassinate is a bad superfluous mechanic

I like AC Odyssey, and I don't even necessarily mind that now you can't always insta-assassinate unaware enemies without upgrading your skills, but one aspect of AC Od I really do not care for is Critical Assassinate.

Overlong text prompts that should just be two icons (eg fist and skull)

Basically this ability does nothing. It has *exactly the same function* as regular Assassinate and on the same button (Y), only now you have to hold down the button to do it, making it more difficult to time often leading to mistakes and failure to execute plans. 99% of the time you won't even want to use normal Assassinate/Stealth Attack anymore at all because the damage done is so inadequate that it may as well just be a regular attack, defeating the purpose of the mechanic.

If you really must have an upgrade to wrist-blade/spear assassination damage, just put it on the same damn action and pressing once should be enough. Constant held down buttons make for unpleasant controls and should be used sparingly. Don't force players to hold down Y every time they want to do one of the most basic interactions of the series, especially when there is already an identical mechanic with nerfed damage to make the "Critical" version seem useful.

Just add the critical damage to the regular one.

ac odyssey, I try to be organised but get distracted!!

    Posted: 30 Jan 2020 10:33 AM PST

Every session on Odyssey, I think, right i will get this done but every time I play I get distracted and drawn in to side missions and finding places, the game is just amazing, is it just me or does it do this to everyone..

I think people complain too much about the recent games' assassination ability.

    Posted: 30 Jan 2020 11:45 PM PST

While I understand and agree to a point that assassination has become weak and apparently lost a bit of focus, I think there's a reason that people are forgetting: both Origins and Odyssey take place before the established Assassins group. It's like people complain about not having the hidden blade in Odessey, but why would they have the hidden blade long before it became a thing? Bayek was the first to use one!

For Bayek, Alexios/Kassandra, they are not actual assassins as we would know Assassins to be under the creed. Alexios/Kassandra are mercenaries who choose however they want to deal with a situation and Bayek is essentially former ancient police operative with a similar concept. Staying hidden and assassinating an enemy is not a priority.

However, as said, I do feel the frustration when I go to assassinate an enemy after many upgrades and they don't die. I feel more frustration when that enemy is a polemarch, and suddenly every enemy in the fort comes running

What is the proper order of the assassins creed storyline? Is liberation or freedom cry actually main story line?

    Posted: 30 Jan 2020 01:53 PM PST

Everywhere I look has a different list of what order to play, most being different because of freedom cry and liberation. Are these games apart of the main story or can I skip them? And what is the accurate list of the games by storyline?

Does it matter when I do the Lost Tales of Greece quests? - AC Odyssey

    Posted: 30 Jan 2020 07:20 PM PST

Will it mess anything up if I do them before the main questlines or anything? Should I wait until after?

I'm playing through Assassin's Creed Brotherhood for the first time, what's the benefits, aside from money, to restoring Rome?

    Posted: 30 Jan 2020 02:52 PM PST

I've started playing the Assassin's Creed series from start to finish and I'm currently on Brotherhood. I don't plan on rushing the games but I'm not as interested in doing the not so necessary side missions and activities.

I've got to the point where I can start restoring Rome by taking out towers and renovating shops and i am wondering if there's any reason other than coin to do this?

I completely restored the Villa in two and it didn't seem all that necessary.

    My rant about the levels

    Posted: 30 Jan 2020 02:22 PM PST

So I am in the camp that the levels are annoying in this game and I'll tell you why.

I didn't have much time to play today but I figured I could get some stuff done. I logged on and to do the next mission, I needed to level up some. So I went after a couple cultists. I killed one but needed more XP so I went after another. This cultist was "preparing for battle in Messara" so I spent the time to weaken the leadership expecting to see the cultist in the fight. He didn't show. So I looked up how to find him. It said to do this quest (the one with the kid and the minotaur,. But the quest led me to three more. And one of those was basically three more quests. After I did all of this, I had to leave to go to classes. I was excited to get back so I could finish and fight the minotaur all through class. When I finally got back I booted up my PS4 and went to do the mission. I opened the labyrinth and the hype was really. Then it told me that the target was 8 levels higher than me and I realized that I had to level up by 8 levels to do the quest.

I spent all of that time just so I could grind and level up more. Such a fulfilling experience.

What are peoples thoughts on the movie?

    Posted: 30 Jan 2020 04:40 PM PST

TL;DR: i like the movie but think it has some major problems that most movie goers are not going to look past.

I wanted to get a feel for most peoples thoughts on the movie that are fans of the series. What worked for you, what didnt?

Pros: . 1st thing for me that i absolutely loved in this movie, when we see the past life of Aguilar, its all in Spanish, i thouggt it was so cool that to really drive home that it was in the past and in a new place they had them speak Spanish and not English. . i loved the new Animus design, we actually get to see the person in the Animus moving around, fighting and running in this 3d holoenvironment, that shows how the MC is getting better at fighting through the bleeding effect and not just laying on a table. . i liked them showing how the bleeding effect has really damaged the various subjects and how it twists their minds around. . i liked how they showed neither side as being the good guy, though i am going to talk about this in the Cons aswell.

Cons: . There is no character that can really be identified with, our MC is a murderer, he was sentenced to death row and executed, the execution was faked to get him into Abstergo's hands. over the course of the movie he slowly loses his mind to the bleeding effect and at the end he becomes a highly trained murderer with a cause. not exactly the easiest of characters to get invested in. . there is a mountain of exposition about the apple of eden that really only covers the most basic elements of it, it certainly slows the movie down when it happens. . They show the Assassins as a cult, hell bent on preserving free will, and the peices of eden to the point that they have no problem killing themselves and anyone in their way. The Templars are shown to be your stereotypical big group that thinks man kind sucks and needs to eliminate free wil to bw saved, i dont necessarily disagree with this, but its incredibly more complex than the oversimplification thats presented aswell as the overlycomplicated explanation thats being given in the movies. . And finally the biggest problem i have with this movie, is its not fun, it is a constant build up of dread and as a viewer you come to realise these people on both sides are going to fuck up everybody, and there is nothing anyone can do about it. there is nothing to break the tension or to make us like any of these characters.

Thank you for reading if you got this far and please let me know what you thought of the movie.

odyssey age is just a number

    Posted: 30 Jan 2020 12:13 PM PST

Did they get rid of the Sidequest Age is just a number ? Cause i'm replaying Odyssey and am just about to hit Level 13 and have not seen the marker. I'm pretty sure I have found the woman that gives the quest/you can woo but can't talk to her. So, did they get rid of the quest for some stupid reason or something??

    AC Revelations Altaïr Voice

    Posted: 30 Jan 2020 02:29 PM PST

I know I'm like 10 years late and know about the actor change but Altaïr voice change is weak. Even though I love the "flashbacks" I just wish it was the same actor because he gave Altaïr that deep badass sounding voice.

What are those weird human-headed birds 'Ba's saying in the AC Origins afterlife?

    Posted: 30 Jan 2020 08:59 AM PST

They constantly chant the same stuff... is that just their "bark" or it actually means something in Arabic/old Egyptian?

Anyone else think they give you the creeps? LOL

The future of Assassin’s Creed franchise [SPOILER]

    Posted: 30 Jan 2020 12:56 PM PST

I have been a fan of Assassin's Creed since the beginning of the franchise, I love History and the fact that you could play in major historical events and even meet famous historical people??? Sign me up. But I don't know when AC took a turn and they got in this God/Isu thing where it sort of plays some role? I really liked the whole Assassins vs. Templars lore but know I feel like it doesn't have an important role anymore?

Since AC Origins and then with Odyssey they incorporated Gods/Isu/Mythological stuff in general, which I love, but doesn't that mean that the upcoming game has to also have a mythological type of background so it continues Origins and Odyssey' same type of game? I would love to go back to the historical approach which gives them maybe more to work with.

I don't know, I don't want them to mess this more or smth, and the multiple endings and the new type of dialogs are a really good approach, but they need to really give the feel that you change things and that the people you meet/kill/have something romantic with or have a one night stand really impacts or at least to give us more follow up in the story in regards of who we chose to be with little spoiler (Yes I wont forget that Ubisoft literally pushed us to have a baby with some dull made up in the last minute type of character)

I would love to hear what your point of views are in regards of what do you think it will be next, what would you like to see in the next upcoming game, or if you prefer the historical or the mythological approach

Thank you for listening to my TED talk

The next AC shouldn't feature a female protagonist

    Posted: 30 Jan 2020 06:47 PM PST

Although I'm one of the few who actually liked Kass she received so much backlash especially since it's Ancient Greece. The next AC is rumored for Vikings so i don't believe Ubisoft should add a female main playable character, maybe do like Origins where you play a few missions as Aya but the safe way would be to just feature a male viking.

    AC4 Season pass retrocompatibility

    Posted: 30 Jan 2020 07:34 AM PST

I'm on a AC marathon to help my girlfriend and me catch up with the series. We've currently finished AC4's story. We're playing the Xbox 360 disk version on an Xbox One. I didn't buy the season pass back then and I was wondering: If I buy it on the 360, will it be compatible with the XOne?
