    Unity customization was the best

    Posted: 29 Oct 2019 12:53 AM PDT

Out of all the ac games I've played Unity has had the best costume and potentially "one of" the best weapon systems.

Hands down the best costume system, I think we can all agree on that. But in the last 2 games (Ori,Ody) the weapons seem like collectibles, it's like: "oh I've looted this guy and oh there's a weapon better than mine, cool." in Unity you should gone through multiple missions to get enough money to consider buying that weapon you liked.

What I absolutely loved about the unity costume was the diversity, there were hundreds of potential costume outfits AND there were different colors.

In origins (however good the game was) the outfit system was at best, Not great. They were limited costumes that weren't really costumes you had no part in their customization. They were just outfits, but the cool part was about the optional helmet/hood option

Moral of the story, they should go back to the unity costume system because it was THE BEST of all its predecessors and successors

I really do like unity, but I think it is a waste of a time period.

    Posted: 29 Oct 2019 07:36 PM PDT

I consider unity one of the most fun to play entries of the franchise due to the fact that Paris is, in my opinion, the best map ever constructed for this franchise. Walking through the city really makes you feel like you're in the middle of the chaos that was the French Revolution. There are so many details, even little ones, that help creat the game's atmosphere that it hooks me. I basically play unity because of Paris and the way that the gameplay feels like it is directly tied to it. Considering this, I do think they wasted a huge opportunity. Unity's campaign is basically a love story. I have nothing against love stories, don't get me wrong, and I liked Arno's and Elise's tragedy ,but it is a love that just happens to occur during the French Revolution. Ubisoft made it as if the time period was something secondary, like it was just the location of this love tragedy when it shouldn't. Paris and the Revolution should've been the center of the story, with assassins participating directly in it, something closer to what the trailer showed us.

AC2 has still the best trailer of the Series

I had rewatched the Trailer from AC2 and think it was the best of the series, because he gives you the most Assassin Atmosphere and the soundtrack of Jesper Kyd makes it even better :)

    Assassin's Creed: Antecedence (story idea)

    Posted: 29 Oct 2019 09:10 PM PDT

    Hello.

I would like some counsel and collaboration for a remarkable Assassin's Creed story that I'm working on. What it is is that in the 21st century, There was a discovery in Mexico of a fossil of a creature that looks like it's from the Dromaeosauridae family and Abstergo Industries receives word of it and sees the photos and pictures of the fossil and they discover that the fossil has what seems to be a piece of bone coming out of the fossil's wrist that closely resembles an assassin wrist blade. At the same time, they have received word of an extraordinary eagle named Adriana who is in an animal show in Pigeon Forge with her teenage falconer, Antonio Petrucelli (50% American, 25% Latin American (His mother's half Latin American) and 25% Italian (His father is half Italian)). What it is about this eagle that caught Abstergo's attention is that Adriana (the eagle) can perform acts that no other eagle can do and, in some of the videos, if closely looked around her eyes, she has bright yellow lines that briefly appear that resemble the same lines found in Isu temples. So Abstergo believe that Adriana and the raptor fossil that was discovered are somehow connected. They invite Antonio and Adriana into an Abstergo facility (I don't know which one would fit right) and they put Adriana in the Animus (they are cautious of this first because this is the first time they're using the Animus on a non-human being and are a bit worried that it could kill the eagle. After going through some small tests to see if Adriana's bird body can synchronize probably without having her killed, the machine suddenly has a glitch and goes on auto-pilot. The story then goes back to the main time era of Adriana's genetic memory: The Cretaceous Period. In the genetic memory, it is revealed that Adriana's ancestor is a Dromaeosaur (Velociraptor, Pyroraptor, Utahraptor, can't decide) who is part of a prehistoric assassin brotherhood which came up with the same ideals and goals that the human brotherhood will eventually have. The dinosaurs are more intelligent than humans ever believed they could be. They have tools, decorative tattoos, ritual scarification, armor, rank, hierarchy and social networks. This is because once, a long time ago, there was a meteor shower which impacted the earth (didn't cause the dinosaurs to become extinct),most of the meteors went so deep that it affected the plant life around it that when the herbivores ate the plants and the carnivores ate the former, and the scavengers ate the leftovers. The contents of the meteor, which emits the same energy found in the pieces of Eden, which I'm calling "Eden rays" muted their DNA, increased intelligence and also caused some dinosaurs and other animals to adapt extra appendages, with the case of some of the raptors, and extra piece of bone that sticks out from the raptor's wrist in the same way, with the same usage as the wrist of blade of the human assassins. With the meteors that didn't bury deep enough, there are some ceremonies where some groups of dinosaurs go to a meteor crash site to perform a ritual where the individual that the ceremony is being held to touches the rock and adapts the features and appendages they wish to have. That's because the rock and the energy that is being emitted is alien in the way that it is sentient and alive. For some of these dinosaurs that are affected by 'Eden rays" so much that it turns them into what humans will call dragons. So, prehistoric assassin brotherhood that Adriana's raptor ancestor is part of, is tasked with protecting the natural, ecological balance of the earth and the circle of life from various groups of "Dino-templars" who which to use the powers of Eden meteors to gain more power and disrupting the balance of nature on earth.

As you can see, I certainly did my homework, but I still need help with a few things:

    1) Storyline making

    2) Worldbuilding

    3) Character creation and developments (the dinosaurs characters) and determining which character would be which dinosaurs

    And

    4) Which raptors would be in this prehistoric brotherhood?

    5) Which Dromaeosaur would Adriana's ancestor's name be and background?

I will really appreciate any and all who help me in any way, shape or form on making this remarkable story or story trilogy, maybe. I will even have some of the credit given to all who help me, maybe.

    Thank you so much!

looking for info on Assassin's Creed Pirates

    Posted: 29 Oct 2019 08:01 PM PDT

It seems the game is now long gone and no longer playable due to it no longer being updated by Ubisoft. Anyone have any info on the story / missions? The AC wiki doesn't have much unless you read the individual character pages. I was hoping to find a breakdown of the various missions with summaries of what happened. Maybe info on the dates it happens too. Anyone have that info saved?

Also, is there a way to play this still? Maybe through an Android PC emulator or something?

[Spoilers] After Fate of Atlantis help

    Posted: 29 Oct 2019 02:38 PM PDT

So I have completed all main storylines and DLC. At the end of Atlantis Layla says she has a lot of people to say goodbye too, then it seems to end after that putting you back into the Animus. Is that all there is left in the game story wise? Im assuming the weird stop with no Layla story ending is a carry over into the next AC? I need space on my HDD and its either remove this or Red Dead because they are massive in size.

Supernatural or just really skilled Assassins?

    Posted: 29 Oct 2019 04:49 PM PDT

So the Assassin's (in the games that aren't Origins and Oddyssey) have "Eagle Vision" (I think that's what it's called) y'know, allies are blue, enemies are red and quest objectives are gold. What I wanna know is, is that just a game thing or do the assassins actually have that power? Like do they concentrate and see like that?

Also, what prevents the Templar from just gunning down the Assassins or their bloodline? From what I've learned, Abstergo uses descendants of Assassins to find... something (I've only played Black Flag for the modern games, and they were looking for a vault with something called the Apple of Eden I believe), and ALWAYS, as far as I know, the descendants become Assassins instead of Templars. Why don't they just kill them if they know they can't convert them?

Sorry if this is a bit jumbled, I'm just confused if the Assassins are actually supernatural or really skilled.

I want more non rpg Ac games.

    Posted: 29 Oct 2019 04:59 AM PDT

Im just going preface by saying Ive only playing the ac games for a year. I played oddyessy and loved it . Started origins but could never find the will to finish it. But then I played Black flag. Then the ezio collection and I finished unity today and I'm starting at Syndicate. I love the rpg formula don't get me wrong but it's not an AC game it's an RPG with AC qualities . I would love more ac games like Syndicate or Unity. Unity got a bad rep because it was buggy at launch but playing nowadays it's great to look at and really portrays Paris well. The only complaint I had was that the French revolution felt like a background instead of part of the story . Syndicate utilised the historical setting well with gangs, factories and lots of industrializing. I like Jacob and Evie and the go together well. I really enjoyed these games and would love it if Ubisoft made the RPG historical games a different IP and went back to making Ac actually like you're an assassin .Overall I want more assasiny ac games and I think Unity and Syndicate were underated.

About controlling the eagle in origins/odyssey

    Posted: 29 Oct 2019 01:40 PM PDT

Is it just in-game feature to control senu/Ikaros or does Bayek and eagle bearer actually have ability to control eagle and see through their eyes?

    Cleared map in ac origins

    Posted: 29 Oct 2019 01:32 PM PDT

So I'm wondering, about how many hours will it take to complete all locations, do all side quests and complete the main story? Basically clear the map and do the story. I'm currently doing that and if someone happens to have done it, it'd be nice to know.

How to Make an Assassin Hood and Cowl Out of a Snuggie

[SPOILER] Leonidas, Bayek and the sixth sense (AS:Od)

    Posted: 29 Oct 2019 09:31 AM PDT

    • So, on the Fate of Atlantis DLC on Elysium there is a mission where the protagonist is faced with a desition: to do Persephone´s bidding and slay Leonidas or to spare him and find a scapegoat.
    • If the protagonist choose to spare his/her grandfather, he´d say something like on Sparta they trained him to spot a predator before it pouces. That sounds familiar... To recognize enemies... Sounds like Eagle Vision.
    • Juno, on the Colosseum Vault said to Desmond that "you see the blue shimmer, you hear the words... but you do not know!". So it seems the Eagle Vision the previous protagonist had (Altair, Desmond, Ezio, the Kenways, Arno and the Fryes) was shared by Leonidas, sensing danger and enemies.
    • The first protagonist that lacked Eagle Vision was Bayek. He even held an Apple and got no response from it. No glow, no hum, nothing. Ezio merely touched his Apple back in Brotherhood and had an Eureka Effect (he would find and terminate Cesare Borgia at Navarre). This would point out that Bayek had almost no isu blood on him.
    • However, its frustrating that Persephone and Hermes were unable to sense Hekate´s deception. An answer would be that the Isu we met were not realistic, just mere simulations. Or that the isu mind is so complex that their fellows cannot properly read it. Juno also deceived Jupiter and Minerva, whom were unable to grasp her plans until after she executed them.

As much as I love Assassin’s Creed 3, I really dislike the way they handled the portrayal of George Washington.

    Posted: 29 Oct 2019 07:38 PM PDT

My main gripe is that he's portrayed in too negatively of a light. It's one thing to bring attention to the more controversial aspects of his character that gets overshadowed by the glory he obtained in the founding of the United States. But it's quite another to make the man look utterly incompetent in every facet and require aid or criticism from Connor and other characters in order for Washington to reach the historical pedestal he's placed upon.

The most obvious fault they give Washington is revealing that he was the one responsible for the burning of Connor's village during the French & Indian War, and consequently the death of his mother. This is intended to make Connor see things aren't as black and white as he would like, and it causes him to sever his ties with Washington. This exposé of his conduct against Native Americans is all well and good to giving a rounded portrayal of the man, but the game's problem is that this only reaffirms the Templars' loathing of Washington and his qualities as a leader. Indeed, Washington is shown to be powerless in the face of Haytham's accusations and backs down in the face of some random upstart that stole private military correspondence from his tent.

Washington would have never just stood by and let strangers berate him for his conduct. He frequently had to deal with insubordination from ambitious men like Horatio Gates, Thomas Conway, and the actual Charles Lee who all wanted to have the role of Commander-In-Chief for their own personal gain. But he did so with cool tact and humility, something that most if not all Continental Army generals lacked. This scene from the film "The Crossing" shows how he deals with insubordination and doubt, even in the face of seemingly hopeless odds.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WqitLNTTUzc&app=desktop

If the burning of Connor's village were an isolated incident, it would be permissible at making Washington a complex historical figure. But as we see from the interactive conversations Connor has with him, it's always Connor the one being the one giving sage advice in order to make Washington into Washington. For example, in the Valley Forge interactive conversation, Washington is having severe doubts and insecurities about the Revolution and fears the British are destined to win, while Connor tells him to stay the course because there are men and women who believe in liberty and are willing to fight for it. This is reminiscent of a similar anecdote between Washington and a soldier at Valley Forge, where the soldier wished to return home so he and his family wouldn't starve, and Washington said that if every man did that, including he himself, they would have no army to fight for freedom. Discounting Connor's role in securing victory in actual battles, they make him the one to be the inspiration behind Washington's characteristics of leadership and still have the audacity to portray him in such a negative light.

It doesn't help that this game apparently has an anti-Washington stance from the ground-up. Even Shaun Hastings' database entire never miss an opportunity to attack Washington and the other Founding Fathers as if they were gross hypocrites that never did anything to advance the cause of liberty in America. The game judges men from the 18th Century by 21st Century mores regarding race, sex, etc., and demonizes them for slavery when they had no means of changing the status quo. In one of the emails, Shaun erroneously mentions that Thomas Jefferson apparently supported legislation advocating for the castration of sodomites in the state of Virginia, when in actuality Jefferson was pursuing laws to decriminalize sodomy. For these reasons this became my least favorite portrayal of Shaun in any of the games, which is a shame because he's one of my favorites typically.

So in short, the portrayal of Washington could've been handled so much better. I get that the AC games are about exposing truth in history and questioning the morality of freedom vs security, but with Washington they go out of their way to make him look as horrible as possible as if he did nothing remotely good with his life.

To add injury to insult, they have a DLC expansion pack called "The Tyranny of King Washington." Might as well make that the subheading under Ubisoft's corporate logo.

Let's discuss how to improve customization in assassin's creed

    Posted: 29 Oct 2019 08:09 AM PDT

I think they should combine unity and odyssey's customization so what I mean is

    • Have 5 different armor parts ( helm, chest, arm, waist, legs ) and some chest pieces have cape

    • Can change color for each armor pieces

    • Addition of visual customization so you can have best stats and look any way you like at same time

    • Legacy outfits in visual customization

    • Can change simple hair styles and beard
