Assassin's Creed - Memory Block 04 - 'The Selfish Three'

Welcome back, Assassins! Today marks the halfway point of the game's story, and we are about to reach the longest, most difficult memory memory block we have faced so far. This is the one and only memory memory block that will have us travel to three different cities to eliminate three different targets. At least we get to choose the order that we go about it.

Today's Targets: Abu'l Nuqoud, William de Montferrat, Majd Addin

    DAILY OVERVIEW

    1 - Damascus
Attend the Merchant King's party and find an opportunity to take him down.
    1 - Acre
Assassinate William de Montferrat after following him into the fortress.
    3 - Jerusalem
Prevent Majd Addin from executing his four prisoners, one of whom is an assassin.

Is Edward Kenway’s London Mansion Still Around In The Modern Day?

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 04:56 PM PDT

So after Assassins Creed 3 where apparently the Davenport Homestead just disappeared one day and after Assassins Creed 4 and Rogue where the Jackdaw and the Morrigan, two shops that seem to be important to both the Assassins and Templars respectively both disappeared one has to wonder, what else has just ceased to exist for some reason? There seems to be no record of Edward Kenway's mansion after assassins creed syndicate so did it to just cease to exist for some reason? I mean when watch_dogs legion comes out and they have something that definitely connects these two franchises that they will once again call "just an Easter egg" will that thing be the Kenway Mansion or will there just be something else in its place?

Playing through Origins, I have only one complaint.

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 08:29 AM PDT

It's pretty petty but I really just dont understand why they would overlook this design flaw. Almost every outfit you can buy covers your Medjay badge, and almost every side quest starts with someone saying "Is that a Medjay badge!?!?!". It sucks because I love alot of these outfits but the badge is like super important to my immersion. I just don't understand why the heck ubisoft would do this. Why not just have the over the shoulder cloth for the hood over the other shoulder. Why cover the badge?

Seriously though this game is amazing. I just needed to rant that out of me. I've been playing the entire franchise and this is without question the best one yet. I struggled through Unity and Syndicate. Not for any of the reasons all they have mind jerks complain about. I just didn't find the story of unity engaging enough, syndicate was better but I feel like they kinda slacked off with the grapple hook. Although being steampunk batman assassin was cool. Climbing buildings is like the biggest selling point of assassins. This one though. A plus. The story, the new mechanics, the ARPG feel. I'm really enjoying it.

Completionist; which game takes the longest?

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 08:00 PM PDT

I have gotten 100% on AC3, ACL, ACR, and have just started playing ACU. It seems like this one is going to take the longest, but thats why Im asking. Also, if the co op is required for 100% on ACU and anyone would want to run them with me in the next few weeks, let me know, Im on Xbox.

What’s the most effective XP glitch now?

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 04:50 PM PDT

I'm trying to give Odyssey another chance without all that hassle of leveling up. What's the most effective way to handle that?

As a side note, please don't ask me to just play the game the way the devs intended for me to. Please. If it was not genuinely an issue, I would be having a blast right now.

Are there any progress trackers for AC Origins (pc)?

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 08:32 PM PDT

One thing that was missing from Origins was a progress tracker. There are so many locations and activities to do in the game, that it can get hard to keep track of them. The closest thing to a tracker would be the world atlas, but that's dlc only. So, is there a mod/add-on for Origins on pc that adds a progress tracker?

One kinda small thing that might be a good idea to bring back

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 08:12 AM PDT

I just remembered about origins having the whole revenge system, I think that would be such a cool idea to bring back in the next game. It brought some easy XP and just some fun side quests too

    Two AC titles in 2020?

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 10:50 AM PDT

Do you want to see two games in one year like they did in 2014 during generation transition year?

It is unlikely to happen at now, but what if? Vikings game probably will be on the hands of Montreal (like Unity) for next gen and another game set in Rome which uses same resources of Origins/Odyssey for current gen developing by studio like Sofia? Creating same Unity-Rogue situation.

Why does everyone hate the "present" Story?

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 02:04 AM PDT

Every time I read about Assassins Creed, people go nuts about the "present" Abstergo story, especially when it came to Desmond. I don't understand all the hate? They are literally just a few Missions every now and then in between. And for me they are also quite refreshing and are tying everything together nicely. I really don't understand all the hate.

    AC Setting: The Maccabean Revolt

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 12:11 AM PDT

    AC Setting: The Maccabean Revolt

This setting that I will be discussing with you all might be slightly controversial (as it's a part of the deuterocanonical books of the Christian bible) but let us get on with it. The Maccabean Revolt was a Jewish Revolt lasting from 167 BC to 160 BC against the Hellenistic Seleucid Empire, founded by Seleucus I Nicator, one of Alexander the Great's generals who served with him in his campaigns in Asia. The Maccabean Revolt's history is a bit complicated as the rebellion started as a result of conflicts between Hellenized Judeans and Judeans who followed the laws and customs of their ancestors.

Eventually the Seleucid King, Antiochos IV Theos Epiphanes ''God Manifest'' led an army into Jerusalem and sacked the city. The Seleucid Army massacred many of the inhabitants and looted the Second Temple. The sacking of Jerusalem was not without cause however. A rumor had spread that Antiochos had died and a deposed High Priest by the name of Jason gathered a small army of 1,000 men to regain his former position.

Jason was a Hellenized Jew and the brother of Onias III who was a much more worthy man then him, he had become High Priest by promising to the Seleucid King, Antiochos that he would pay him many talents of silver. Jason's small army assaulted Jerusalem, capturing the city but in the end, they failed and Jason was forced again into exile, he eventually died in Sparta.

Antiochos. who was leading an army in Ptolemaic Egypt, heard of the events in Jerusalem. He interpreted the events to mean that all of Judaea was in revolt and after his camapign in Egypt had failed due to the intervention of the meddling Romans, he and his army set out from the lands of Egypt for Israel. He was furious and thus this led to the sacking of Jerusalem and the King issued edicts effectively outlawing Judaism. These acts would be the spark of the Maccabean revolt, started by a Priest who lived in a village by the name of Modiin, Mattathias who refused a Seleucid Official's demands to worship the Greek Gods.

He murdered the official as well as a Judean who offered to sacrifice to the Greek Gods and soon fled into the wilderness with his five sons, the Hasmoneans recruited others into their ranks and after the death of Mattathias, Judas Maccabeus became the group's leader. The Maccabees early on, took to guerrilla style warfare against the Seleucids and won victories against them. Eventually. they established the Hasmonean Kingdom of Judea although the revolt saw many die, including most of the five sons of Mattathias.

If you all want to learn the full story of the Maccabees and learn some ancient history, I would recommend that you read 1st and 2nd Maccabees even if you aren't a Christian or a Jew. It's actually a fascinating read.

Note: The Ptolemies, later the Seleucids when they conquered the region were usually quite tolerant and friendly towards the Jews. Seleucus IV Philopator and Antiochos III were known for giving money to the Jewish temple and allowing them to live in peace.

    Antiochus IV Theos Epiphanes

    Factions:

    1. The Seleucid Empire
    2. The Maccabees
    3. The Ptolemaic Kingdom
    4. Bandits
    5. The Roman Republic (In the form of diplomats, perhaps Roman vessels, etc)
    6. The Order of the Ancients

Enemy Types, this one focusing on the Seleucids:

    1. Heavies (Galatians Mercs?)
    2. Peltasts/Archers
    3. Thureophoroi/Thorakites
    4. Seleucid Legionaries (Copied from the Romans)
    5. Officers
    6. Hypaspists (Hoplites)

    https://www.deviantart.com/foojer/art/Seleucid-Infantry-at-the-Daphne-Parade-759389772

The Map would stretch from the city of Tyros all the way to the city of Pelusion in a compressed map, with the land of Judea and Phoenicia as it's primary focus. https://i.redd.it/w3ti3l15lkb21.jpg (a map that would allow you to understand what I mean

Lastly, the story would last from 200 BC to 144 BC. With the years 200 BC through 175 being condensed in prologue and a introduction to the story. Focusing on the Battle of Panium in 200 BC between the Ptolemaic Kingdom under Ptolemy VI and Seleucid Empire under Antiochus III which saw the lost of Phoenicia to the Seleucids, the treaty of Apamea and the story of Heliodoros attempting to collect money to pay the Romans in Jerusalem during the reign of Seleucus IV.

Can't get my controller triggers to work on AC2 pc

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 10:04 AM PDT

So I just got the Ezio collection on uplay and wanted to play the games in order, but first, I ran all the games with a controller emulator (x360ce) because I wanted to play on my Xbox one controller. I thought that because I had an Xbox one controller it wouldn't work, but other websites assured me that it would, and it did... all except for my two triggers, RT and LT. I'm wondering if anyone on this subreddit has had the same issue and how they solved it because I have looked all over the internet and haven't found a solution that works. Thank you.

Also, i have tried mapping the triggers to different buttons, but still no progress

What are the key differences between Assassin's Creed 2 Discovery on DS and iOS?

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 07:35 AM PDT

I was just wondering if the iOS version is an enhanced port like Altaïr's Chronicles on mobile devices was with its enhanced visuals and voice acting. I can't find any information online about the version differences for Discovery. Besides the fact that the art pieces in the iOS version could be exported to the device's photo gallery for use as wallpapers.

Do you think the next game will use the same engine as odyssey and origins

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 08:11 AM PDT

I really hope not, i want the character to walk more naturally (like RDR2) but in a heroic way if u know what i mean, also, since the game is expected to have alot of snow,i think they should work on that, and the horses are also important, i dont like the way the protagonists in ac origins&odyssey ride them with one arm controlling the horse, i think if they follow in the footsteps of games that are know for their details, they can succeed

    Different themes for AC?

    Posted: 12 Oct 2019 10:19 AM PDT

Since AC is going throughout history, how about one in a world war? I personally would love to see something from world war 1, it would have a lot more gunplay, but there were also a lot of bayonet, spade, etc. CQB in the trenches, it might not fit into the AC style though, what do you all think?
