    AC Marathon 2020 - Day 40

Assassin's Creed Odyssey - Chapter 4 - 'The Athenian Way of Life'

Hello, Assassins! We're arriving in the great city of Athens today, and experience political life. After a bit of shady dealings with snakes, it's time to meet some rather colorful characters at a party to continue learning about our mother.

    Today's Targets: Snake Dealer

    ODYSSEY NOTES

Please note, it is strongly recommended to play on New Game Plus. It'll be easier to keep up with the fast pace of the Marathon not having to worry as much about resources, money & gear, and leveling up your character and ship.

During the Marathon, we will be playing the family story, and the First Civ story. We will not be covering the elimination of all the Cultists, only the ones as defeated during the other two story lines.

Support quests are required but you can usually do them in any order. They are listed as separate quests, but are in support of a main quest.

    1 - Welcome to Athens

    4 - Escape from Athens
Sneak Phidias out of Athens and escort him to the island of Seriphos
    5 - Perikles's Symposium
Put on your party clothes and mingle with Athens's elite
5.1 (Support) - Oil and Love

Eivor cosplay by my man and me :) After weeks of sewing leather and linen AND chopping half of his beard we finished our Eivor cosplay project last weekend and went to the mountains to take some photos. We are really happy how everything turned out and hope you like it, too :) Photos made by me, too

Before I used reddit and played AC Odyssey I took some photos with photo-mode and stumbled upon them again and decided to share them

I Made Eivor's Hidden Blade as practice in Maya. Figured people around here might enjoy it.

    Posted: 20 Oct 2020 07:12 AM PDT

I don't want another AC after this until at LEAST 2022. I want this game to be supported and they seem super committed to that! I'd rather buy more big expansions after the seige of Paris than another game.

Props to the team for that season pass, it looks really substantial on top of an already packed game. Getting really excited.

I know I’m literally preaching to the choir here, but if you have the time, definitely do another run through Origins in preparation for Valhalla :)

    Posted: 20 Oct 2020 10:52 PM PDT

God damn it, this game is good.

I'm in the middle of a chronological playthrough of all the "ancient" AC games - I started with Odyssey, although I got burnt out right before replaying the final DLC.

I'm currently replaying Origins, and since it's been about three years, I totally forgot how incredible this game is.

Maybe it's just because I'm coming from Odyssey - a great game, don't get me wrong, but the depth of narrative and writing are indisputably a little beneath Origins'. I forgot what an absolute treat this game is. I'm hooked all over again. Bayek is truly one of my favorite assassins. He grows on you like no other protagonist.

Since y'all posting your screenshots, here are my favorites from my excessively long Odyssey playtime

    Posted: 20 Oct 2020 09:39 AM PDT

Really hyped for Ireland. Hope we get a third expansion in Russia so we get the Norse-Celtic-Slavic combo.

    Posted: 20 Oct 2020 03:50 PM PDT

That would be amazing. Native Americans, Vikings, Saxons, Franks, Irish/Celts, and Russians/Slavic culture and myths in one game would be a dream.

I wasn’t initially excited for Valhalla. But recently, I am getting more and more hyped for it.

    Posted: 20 Oct 2020 09:03 AM PDT

Still not sure if I'll get the game at launch but I am more hyped for it than I was before. Valhalla is what I feel like people expected when Ubisoft decided to do a soft reboot of the series. They seemed to have refined many of the elements of the past two games and incorporated some of the older AC mechanics.

Would have still liked to see a proper parkour system and dense cities but I guess we can't have everything. Hoping the next game will include those.

Valhalla still seems to have some of those awkward animations and weird moments during stealth but I am not gonna focus on that as much. I am just gonna take the good bits and just have fun. Despite Origins' flaws I still enjoyed it cause of the setting. I am not the biggest Viking fan but I like a good rural setting.

Hopefully the next game, built solely on next gen, can bring the best of both the rpg AC games and the old ones. For now though, I am genuinely hyped for Valhalla.

I hope they hire Irish voice actors for the Ireland dlc.

    Posted: 20 Oct 2020 10:59 AM PDT

im sure there will be a mix of different accents from norse to maybe some others but I really hope that for the Irish people, the voice actors are actually Irish. There is nothing more off putting than listening to North American actors trying to do Irish accents. Its so bad. They have Good intention but just cant pull it off. Some British actors can pull it off but not always. The dlc will be ruined for me if I have to listen to more shay cormacks walking around saying top o da morning to ye in their fake accents

Have you ever rebought a assassin’s creed game?

    Posted: 20 Oct 2020 09:09 PM PDT

i wouldn't say I'm a hardcore fan but sometimes you just want to experience one of the world's they've crafted, I think I've rebought one four times now as today I found my origins disk missing (it's a problem I'm working on) and it got me wondering for whatever reason how many others have bought more than a single copy of a ac game?
