I'm sorry but I'd much prefer the Roman Empire to the Vikings for the next game

    Posted: 18 Mar 2020 02:51 PM PDT

There was a complete lack of urbanization during the Viking Age. What major cities existed at that time? 9th Century Scandinavia was mostly rural, with very small cities that were basically made up of wooden cabins. I foresee a situation very similar to AC:3 where the backdrop is just dull and uninteresting. That's not to say that the Viking Era isn't interesting in and of itself, but Assassin's Creed has always had large urban areas to explore and the viking era has... none of that. Major Viking cities like Sigtuna and Uppsala had maybe a few thousand people at most, and were not particularly interesting.

I know the Roman Empire is similar to Greece, and we've explored Rome in the series once already, but it just feels like its much more suited for Assassin's Creed style gameplay. And it just feels more historically dense, with more interesting situations. Pretty much every era of the Roman Empire is interesting.

What wouldn't be cool about exploring cities like these?:

I'd prefer that to some boring wooden cities in Sweden and Norway

Raid on Lindisfarne as prologue in Ragnarok?

    Posted: 18 Mar 2020 08:06 AM PDT

How about showing the Vikings raid on English town of Lindisfarne in the dark rainy night, landing off the coast and rushing to the town screaming Valhalla, killing innocent people's and looting houses. Playing as Viking who is the member of his clan during huge expedition. This is just like how Greek Persian war shown in the Odysseys prologue.

What’s a setting you’d like to see explored in Assassin’s Creed?

    Posted: 18 Mar 2020 11:14 PM PDT

Personally I'd say the War of 1812, just because there's potential for two separate stories that could intertwine with each other and would finish the stories for Arno, Shay and Connor.

One story focusing on Connor coming to terms with his responsibilities as Mentor of the American Brotherhood while also being on the side of the British and fighting alongside other Native people.

The other story would focus on Arno's journey after the events of Dead Kings. We'd see him train Leon and see more of a father-son relationship develop. We'd also see Arno find the pieces that lead to his father's death and also see that Shay had a deeper impact in Unity's story than we thought. We'll also see Shay use Napoleon as a puppet and Arno struggling to go against his former friend.

The overall story would have Shay as the main antagonist, having involvement in America and in Europe. Connor and Arno would eventually come together and stop Shay. It would end with Arno coming to terms with his past and leaving for London and with Connor retiring from the brotherhood to focus on his family.

This is my ideal setting for an Assassin's Creed and I'd be interested to read everyone else's.

Hands down, Altaïr had the saddest ending in Assassin’s Creed

    Posted: 18 Mar 2020 05:25 PM PDT

Altaïr lived a complicated and pretty tragic life. He lost his mother at childbirth, his dad was betrayed, his friends father felt guilty for his betrayal and killed himself in front of Altaïr, lost his wife in front of him, etc. The list goes on and on. When Altaïr sent his son away and locked himself in the vault, I knew that that he would never get the burial he deserved. He breathed new life into the Brotherhood and made it stronger than what it once was. When I saw Altaïr's remains in Revelations, I teared up a little. All that pain and suffering. All those happy moments. It all led to that one moment. Where Altaïr never got the memorial that he had deserved. And instead, locked himself in a vault, where he at least died peacefully. Having completed his journey.

Ubi advertise Odyssey as the "Ultimate Creed"

Ubi advertise Odyssey as the "Ultimate Creed"

I thought this is a little bit funny because Odyssey doesn't even have the creed in the game. Expect the name. But on their YouTube channel Ubi advertise is as the Ultimate Creed.

Wondering about ac:or and ac:od sale right now

    Posted: 18 Mar 2020 11:16 PM PDT

Thinking about getting origins gold edition for 25 bucks but there's another sale bundle with non gold versions of both odyssey and origins for 30. From what I've seen I think I'd like origins better especially as the story seems like it would actually tie in to the assasin Templar storyline while in odyssey it seems like there's little to no link, correct me if I'm wrong. The characters and main story in general in origins also seem better at a glance to me. But yeah I was wondering which would be a better deal.

And FYI, I stopped at revelations, idk maybe that might impact my enjoyment of either one

What would you think about an Assassin's Creed set in the 30 years war?

    Posted: 18 Mar 2020 09:09 AM PDT

I know I know, this has probably been on discussion here but I'm still curious:

Do you think the game would be good and set in a fitting time? I feel like the conflict between religions would offer a lot of new assassins vs templars story and and amazing main character.

What did you like or dislike about AC origins and odyssey?

    Posted: 18 Mar 2020 03:06 PM PDT

I personally love these games, though they have some flaws. I was wondering what are things that other people love or hate in these games.

What do you think of the 18th Century being the most fleshed out period in AC history?

    Posted: 18 Mar 2020 01:36 PM PDT

There are six games plus DLC set during that period:

    • AC III
    • Liberation
    • Black Flag
    • Freedom Cry
    • Rogue
    • Unity

I, personally, love this era of AC because it gave me the chance to really get immersed in the setting and storylines and characters. Unlike AC to AC II or Origins to Odyssey which are set hundreds of years apart, the games set in the 18th century are only decades, or less, apart meaning lots of recurring characters and references to get attached to. It felt like I was part of something rather than playing a handful of games connected only by a database entry.

(I included Freedom Cry and Liberation because, despite being DLC/a spin-off, they have their own protagonists and tell stories not directly connected to their parent games.)

DAE notice one of the stalkers in a settlement in the North Altlantic in AC:Rogue sharing the model of a Spanish captain from Black Flag? Seems like a cool easter egg

First Civilization items throughout the games

    Posted: 18 Mar 2020 07:13 PM PDT

I would like to see a list of all first civilization/Isu items (and anything related to that) that can be obtained throughout all games and dlcs etc. Like for example the Aegis cloak in Syndicate, Eagle of Suger in Unity or the Mayan armor in Black Flag. Does anybody know where I can find such a list or should we collect all items here in the comments? I would just like to know how much the Isu influences actual gameplay and I always found these items to be quite fascinating!

    Posted: 18 Mar 2020 06:46 PM PDT

Black flag, Origins, Odyssey, many of animals all so cute and innocent looking, i hate killing them.

    I prefer killing bandits.

I recently refused quest to kill some cute bears at Odyssey.

What’s the point of assassins creed odyssey?

    Posted: 19 Mar 2020 12:01 AM PDT

I think origins kinda sucks because it's gameplay mechanics but it's what ever, because instead of being in the brotherhood, you create the brotherhood. But what's the point of odyssey? It's set about 300 years before origins so there are no assassins or brotherhood. Ubisoft isn't making assassins creeds anymore, all their doing is making ancient rpg's and calling it assassins creed for the sake of calling it assassins creed. I feel almost turned away from these games because they aren't assassins creed. They are good games, don't get me wrong. I, and I assume many of you, don't want these games that aren't even about assassins. Why can't Ubisoft just go back to the basics? I just want a unity or an assassins creed 3 experience, not these ancient games not even about assassins. They just aren't executing the games right, I feel like Ubisoft could make them so much better. I don't know if this is a popular opinion or not but, still, what's the point of odyssey?

Why do I have a lot of paid Club Rewards in Syndicate without buying them previously?

    Posted: 18 Mar 2020 03:31 PM PDT

I have the Season Pass, but I didn't buy any of the Club Rewards except the suits from previous games and 400 Helix credits. So, why do I have most of them? In particular : Huntsman's Outfit, Redback Gauntlet, Industrial Gauntlet and Out of the Blue Cloak.

    Next Gen Consols and AC

    Posted: 18 Mar 2020 03:24 PM PDT

Man oh man, I cannot wait until the Next Gen are released. Imagine what they can do with these, the sheer level of detail they can go into is crazy. Imagine the Ezio trilogy done on a Next Gen. What about Unity, it could be fully realized, being able to go in and out of buildings, exploring France. Syndicate and London! Or Black Flag. They could have a massive, Pirate game. Sailing the open seas without loading times, fighting other pirates, other ships, boarding no longer glitching.

    Damn......
