The combat is almost perfect, the movement has only a couple flaws, and the story is just amazing

Ubisoft missed an opportunity for another game with Edward

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 11:36 AM PST

We know after Black Flag that Edward travelled the world searching for the POE's. That would have been such a great game.

I really like this detail on ac origins:

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 08:24 AM PST

In the theatres of Alexandria and cyrene I have noticed something like a rehearsal played by the npcs.
Their play represents with humour what happens to the throne of the Ptolemaic kingdom during the time of the story line. So we see Ptolemy fighting with cleopatra for the throne. Ptolemy wins and after a while Cleopatra brings a man with a soldier. I suppose this is julius Caesar and he kicked Ptolemy's ass out of the throne. Then cleopatra and her new lover celebrate.
I noticed it after the events pf the story. And I guess we can't see the actors doing that before cleopatra gets the crown.
I like how the npcs and the world in general move according to the story of the game. It makes it more alive. Tell me if you have noticed other changes in the game through the story.

Just a thought if Ubisoft make a Hitman style AC game

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 01:56 AM PST

This idea is just an excuse to revisit the era from the Ezio Trilogy so don't take it too seriously. The title could be "Assassin's Creed: Contracts". Imagine the black box missions from Unity and Syndicate but set in the Renaissance period and added with some Hitman elements excluding disguises.

-NPC's reveal "opportunities" to infiltrate a building/castle/fortress or to kill the target. Eavesdropping or tailing someone would now be your choice.

-opportunities example: triggering a chase sequence, target falling to his death. Another one I can think of would be a secret for the player to discover "letting the target escape" then a waypoint points you to a pigeon coup telling you to send message then a cutscene a man riding a horse headed to a villa/mansion zooming in you see a hood and a cape. Tada, an easter egg mission you play now as Ezio to kill the target that escaped.

    -interactable objects (tools, chandeliers, etc)

    -accidental kills, poisoning drinks, sabotage

-better social stealth. I think AC 3 and 4 is headed in a good direction, Connor would go between two people and cross his arms, Edward, in the demo at least, chatted with a girl beside him and sat in a bonfire and drank some rum.

-combat could be like from Origins

-returning weapons daggers, throwing knives, crossbow

For narrative, you play as the new recruit and given a target to assassinate. Remember from brotherhood Ezio sends a pigeon with orders to his recruits, you are now that recruit.

Again this is just an excuse to revisit the Renaissance because I think there is so much potential in that period.

Classic eagle vision or new eagle vision?

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 11:25 AM PST

I don't mind the new eagle vision but the classic eagle vision fits more with the franchise and the lore.

Bought Odyssey this week. I have not touched an AC game since AC3 and I gotta say, I love what they've done here.

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 05:41 PM PST

I got franchise fatigue waaay back when assassins creed 3 came out. Until that point I had played through every game in the series up to AC3.

Got Odyssey on sale on PS4pro this week. I am absolutely hooked. In my opinion, this open world rpg, Witcher 3-esque turn the devs have taken with the series was such a great move!

This open world is incredible. Amazing visuals. The exploration is so satisfying and fun. I love this whole naval combat thing. Armor system is really nice.

Oh and the combat is so much more skill based and deep than it used to be! I could go on and on about this game. But the last thing I want to say is that it really feels like this gameplay change that started with Origins has really breathed new life into the series. It really feels like the devs are putting more love into it now and it shows.

My Modern Day-esque Assassin, based off of Revelations Era Ezio Auditore da Firenze.

    Desmonds story is broken af

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 11:11 PM PST

So I've just bought the ezio collection and have played all the way to revelations as I haven't played them all in years, Ive decided to finish Desmonds story first as I couldn't remember any of it, as you play it talks about his past and how he was born into the Creed and trained effortlessly to be an assassin but what I don't understand is if he spent all that time training so hard why is it he has to practice how to be an assassin through Altair and Ezio with the bleeding affect in the first two games? (Parkour training in the warehouse etc.) I tried to find an answer online but it seems I'm the only one who has picked up on this

When is a good time to start exploring? - AC Black Flag (SPOILER)

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 11:22 AM PST

I know in AC games the first couple sequences are basically "tutorials" so I usually focus on the story until the game opens up. I just finished sequence 3. I have the Mayan things and the Templar hunts on my map now. It seems this is the time to start exploring. Am I right?

    No spoilers please!!!

Edward Kenway's voice - AC Black Flag

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 10:14 AM PST

I've seen people say his voice sounds like Jax Teller from Sons of Anarchy which I can totally hear. But I think he sounds more like Julius Caesar from Spartacus. Obviously that is a way less known character from a much less popular show. I'm just curious to see if other people hear that.

My one problem with Assassin’s Creed Gold (SPOILERS)

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 06:32 AM PST

I wish Shaun had come back as a human compatriot of My'shell and Gavin. (and is that My'shell from the comics???!!!)

For those who haven't heard Ubisoft's first Audio Drama for AC and have chosen to read this spoiler-laced post, Shaun is included in the Audio Drama but as a tech-helping and hella sassy AI. A very advanced AI at that.

When we first heard of the Audio Drama and who would be in it, and it was said Danny Wallace who voices Shaun would be included, I was so excited. I was already excited to know Gavin Banks would be in the drama too, since the only big part the character has played in all the AC Media was Initiates, and of course Anthony Head from Merlin who did an amazing job at voicing Sir Isaac Newton. Seriously, my favourite character out of all of it has to be Newton. A character well written with the writers sticking heavily to historical accuracy, from his (theorised really, really close) friendship with Nicolas Fatio de Duillier to his mental breakdown after the two split.

But of course, since we haven't had Shaun in the games since 2015's Assassin's Creed: Syndicate and only a mere mention of him in The Descendants novels, I was truly beyond the moon to hear we'd have him back for this one of a kind Audio Drama. But when he showed up, written in as an AI and not really the real Shaun Hastings in the flesh, I kinda felt disappointed. Though his sassyness was still there, and his quips quite improved upon, so I got over the fact the character didn't really show up pretty soon after that.

Though I wish they had written him in as truly the massively liked and yet unliked Assassin historian. He would've been a greater duo with My'shell if he had been there as not just a "ghost in a machine" if you will, but hands on. Actually in existence.

It also personally just seemed out of place for AC to go so far off the board of reality imo with a super advanced AI in 2020. Even Siri isn't that variable. However if Ubisoft was to commit fully to a more sci-fi orientated Modern Day that still set in the Modern Day, like today, I wouldn't mind at all. But they have to go all in. It just threw me for a sixer (or "loop" in American English... I think) when the Assassins, who are usually well behind Abstergo in terms of tech and financial ability, have gotten their hands on a pretty out of this world Artificial Intelligence that's really... intelligent. I mean, for 2020. Edit: yes I know the Animus is super freaking advanced, so advanced it's not even doable in reality. Not the point tho. Just my personal, humble opinion.

I don't know, just my thoughts. Sorry if this was really long. It's currently 1 in the morning, I just finished Gold and I am so pumped to dive into all the reviews and analyses. I just had to get this off my chest before heading to bed.

    Some doubts i have...

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 10:52 AM PST

I was replaying the franchise and just now, I saw some things that got me confused: 1. On assassin's creed brotherhood, Subject 16 left some messages for you on the game, when you find all of them, you unlock a program with his personality on the animus, 16 talk with Desmond and says that he need's to find Eve on the eden. Now my doubt, where is the Eden and how could eve still be alive?

2.Again on brotherhood, when you find Juno, in one of her dialogues, she mentions that you need to awake a "Sixth", who is that "Sixth"? Could be 16, but shouldn't she refer to him as "sixteen"?

3.(last one) What's Juno plan? She wants to possess a body, but why? Also why it looks like she is helping both the Templar's and the assassin's?

Thank you for reading this and thank you for your patience.
