Origins completely forget about the Creeds "Nothing is true everything is permitted"

    Posted: 16 Dec 2019 12:38 PM PST

I just remember how it bother me that they doesnt include this phrase in Origins.

This game was about the foundation of the Creed and in many games this is the leading sentence about what the Creed is about. Origins would have been the perfect opportunity to introduce this epic phrase, very sad that they didn't this.

"To say that nothing is true, is to realise that the foundations of society are fragile, and that we must be the shepherds of our own civilization To say that everything is permitted. Is to understand that we are the architects of our actions, and that we must live with their consequences, whether glorious or tragic."

Will Layla become the bad guy next?

    Posted: 16 Dec 2019 08:17 PM PST

I feel like Ubisoft wouldn't write this character to be so unlikable unless she was being set out to be the bad guy. I just hate her so much she isn't fun to have on screen, and her attitude is just annoying, her ego is too much, and she killed her only real friend? I didn't hate Desmond and he was boring but I never rooted against him. Even the black flag character you are and he didn't even say anything. But Layla I just wanted her to die or something so we don't have to see her again. Just please let her be the bad guy or something she's just so annoying

Assassins creed was always one of my favorite games but rogue is now one of my favorites in the series now.

    Posted: 16 Dec 2019 10:15 PM PST

I got into the series back when I was 9 and my stepmom picked it up and I just sat there watching her play it. The story was great and the idea of just doing parkour around and old era of time was incredible to me. Then the first one I played was II and I don't think I have to explain why I fell in love with the series right there. Ezio was my dawg and I felt for him through the game, I never actually had the opportunity to play brotherhood but I saw videos and skip to revelations. ( underrated as all hell and that ending when he started talking to Desmond gave me tears a bit.) few year later I picked up AC III and black flag at the same time and played them simultaneously going from III back to black flag. Black flag to this day is still my favorite and when I heard it's getting a switch port I lost it. I'd already played origins, unity, and syndicate but I was not ready for what goes on. I know the game was probably overshadowed by unity at the time but holy shit I've this story just got me. When Shay books in yell at Achilles about the precursor and the earthquake and just him not wanting those people to die. I just loved that we actually see what it's like for a Templar's point of view. Being almost killed by the people he called brothers just to save lives and just the fact that Haytham was back made me lose my shit. The story between him an Connor cracked me up and had me attached at the same time and to see him again just made my day. Still currently going through the game and almost about halfway done but I've been on this more than black flag which again is still my favorite game In the series. I know I rambled a bit but holy shit this game is so fun to me.

    Thinking of getting AC3 Remastered

    Posted: 16 Dec 2019 08:25 PM PST

So as a younger fan of the series I didn't really have the opportunity to play 3 or any game before that, my first game was black flag. I enjoyed it a lot, but I didn't own the game so I only played snippets. My first real AC game was Unity and I loved it with a few exceptions. I also played Syndicate which was ok. I've been looking into it and everyone either loves or absolutely hates the game and I was just wondering if I could get some opinions. Most of what I hear is that graphics are bad, but that doesn't really bug me too much. There was also some stuff about bugs but the reviews are from a long time ago so I'm not sure if they were patched or not. Any feedback would be appreciated thanks.

Old-School Fans: What originally drew you to the modern-day storyline?

    Posted: 16 Dec 2019 02:42 AM PST

As we all know, the momentum of the modern-day storyline has sputtered out a bit. What originally captured my imagination during the Desmond days was this idea that the true origin of humanity is a secret. Stories from all religions and legends have partial truths and are twisted, distorted versions of real-life events that took place during or as a result of The First Civilization. I feel that this kind of cataclysmic-level storytelling has so much potential that wasn't quite fully realized by the end of Assassin's Creed III, or by the following titles. As a fiction writer, I'm highly interested in crafting a narrative loosely inspired by this idea, and I was wondering what specific elements captured your interest about the modern-day story, way back in the Desmond-era. Any and all discussion is welcome!

    Have a wonderful week, assassins.

Thoughts on AC Syndicate? Am I missing something?

    Posted: 16 Dec 2019 05:50 PM PST

Been playing all the AC games in a row. Just got to syndicate and I'm thoroughly unimpressed. I'm only about 2 hours in but I find the twins annoying and the story boring. The gameplay loop confuses me, I'm not really sure what I'm doing. Like why do I have access to sequence 3 and 8 at the same time? Makes no sense to me.

I've read up on all the best AC games and Syndicate always ranks relatively high. This shocks me especially when I just finished unity and it feels like a huge step backwards in just about every aspect. Just not sure if I'm missing something. Thinking about moving on to origins. Thoughts?

How Ubisoft will managing to build Scandinavian with other Viking raided areas in next AC game?

    Posted: 16 Dec 2019 11:47 AM PST

This seems harder than Origins and Odyssey, bcuz both games were just set in single modern day country, but for the Viking game following the same route of covering the entire culture region, they need to cover modern day Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, UK, Ireland, Iceland and some other European regions and this going to be massive. Which among these regions there's going to show in game? What if Ubi really bought the entire northern Europe in single game?

I played all the games up too Black Flag. How good/should I play the rest?

    Posted: 16 Dec 2019 06:16 PM PST

I recently got a PS4 after not gaming for a few years. Black Flag was the last one I played. My friend told me Origins is incredible, but I wanted to know if Rogue, Unity, or Syndicate are worth playing.

I don't have much time to game, usually only on Sundays for 1-3 hours. I'm not in any particular rush, but figured I should take advantage of the digital sale going on now and backlog them. I certainly wont be getting a next gen console either, unless its towards the end of the cycle.

So are they worth it or should I just skip ahead to odyssey?

Rank the games you've played in order purely on enjoyment.

    Posted: 16 Dec 2019 05:51 AM PST

Can you guys rank the games you've played based purely on enjoyment. Which did you enjoy the most.

    I'll go first:

    1. Black Flag
    2. Origins
    3. AC III
    4. AC II
    5. Unity
    6. Syndicate
    7. Liberation

Sadly I have not played odyssey yet, but I will once the winter sale for steam comes out

Edit: I'm surprised on how many people rank III so highly. I though it was one of the more boring ones

Where can I find the Élise Ubicollectible for a fair price?

    Posted: 16 Dec 2019 03:10 PM PST

Why is the Élise collectible figure so dang pricey in relation to the Arno collectible figure?

And are there any places to get it for a regular price instead of like 200€?

    Final game in series [IDEA]

    Posted: 16 Dec 2019 06:46 PM PST

So I have like an idea of what the final game should be. Since it's a story we can do anything with honestly at this point. Why not the final game be about all the Assassin's throughout the games come to our present time. And fight the final enemy. [It can be anyone really just something big enough that all the assassin's are required] It brings the story to a close. And you get to have all different Assassin's meet up together. Anyone else? Please no laughing or anything along the lines of bullying. However if you have any constructive criticism I'll hear you out.

Which is the most influential Assassin?

    Posted: 16 Dec 2019 09:04 AM PST

Which Assassin had the most importance to the assassin's (excluding Bayek of course), and what did they do.

Edit: No Bayek because he would obviously rank 1 because he literally created the assassins

[SPOILER] Question about the end of Legacy of the First Blade DLC

    Posted: 16 Dec 2019 12:23 PM PST

So I never played Origins but at the end of the LotFB DLC, it shows your son growing up in Egypt with Darius and then shows a female character jump off a sphynx head. Just curious if those are characters in AC Origins (Which I'm planning on playing next) and if this DLC just tied into the Origins story?

    Thanks!

    EDIT: Thanks everyone!

Total/Current size of Odyssey's updates on Xbox One?

    Posted: 16 Dec 2019 08:27 AM PST

I'm about to buy a physical copy of Odyssey for XOne, but I'm in a bit of a predicament. Does anyone know how big the update I'd have to inevitably download would be? Going from the 1.0 version from the disc to the most current one.

    Thanks!

    Oliver Bowden “tall” paperbacks?

    Posted: 16 Dec 2019 09:37 AM PST

I'm looking to get into the Oliver Bowden books (specifically I want to pick up Forsaken). The only books I'm able to find though are the "tall" paperback books. Is there anywhere that sells normal paperbacks or even hardcover? I live in the US if that makes a difference.

Which assassin had the hardest life?

    Posted: 15 Dec 2019 11:55 PM PST

only the assassin from the main games I'm going in chronological order

    Alexios/Kassandra

saw their sibling being sacrificed, killed the priest and their sibling by pushing them, was thrown of a mountain by their stepdad (who despite not his fleshe raised them as their own), found their sibling was alive at at the other end of their blade.

    Bayek

actually enjoyed a rather wealthier life than most people as a Medjay (police/royal guard), accidentally killed his son with a blade when trying to attack someone else, went through so much trouble to hunt down the order of ancient, saw Julius Cesar and Cleopatra as an ally, lost his best friend, found out Cesar and Cleopatra are the orders masters.

    Altair

grew up without a father, lost a son, found out his father figure is a traitor, was exiled from his home for many years

    Ezio

didn't experience any kind of hardship until his teens cuz he was rich, saw his father and two brother falsely executed, lost christina (his first love), lost his Uncle that adopted him after his father's death, lost his family home and never came back, eventually found love at his 50s.

    Edward

had a tough life growing up as the son of farmers, had to leave his wife and become a privateer In the war of spanish succession, war ended suddenly and he found himself jobless In the Caribbean, turned to pirating, lost all his friends and his father figure in his quest for riches, found out his wife died and he has a daughter.

    Shay

had a rough time growing up poor, his moral compass didn't align with the assassins, accidentally caused the great earthquake of Lisbon (1755), had to kill all his former friends out of responsibility, made his own luck

    Connor

village burned down and lost him mom at a young age, lost his father figure to old age,had to kill his childhood best friend, killed his own dad

    Arno

lost his dad by shay but grew up rich an the same house as his crush, saw his adoptive father die, saw the love of his life die, had a friend with unstoppable ambition that left france crippled (after the events of the game)

    Evie and Jacob

lost their mother at childbirth, father died to natural causes

    Please share what you think

Tried AC1, Syndicate and Origins but never got into them. Is Black Flag similar or different enough to try?

    Posted: 16 Dec 2019 12:54 PM PST

So yeah, tried 3 AC games but never really enjoyed them enough to keep playing.

But Black Flag intrigues me with the piracy and seafaring nature of the game. Does it play like other AC games or does it play different enough that I may enjoy it?

Is Revelations just more of the same shit?

    Posted: 16 Dec 2019 06:46 PM PST

I've played through AC2 and brotherhood, and found them to be alright but pretty repetitive. Should I just skip revelations and play one of the other ones? I don't really care about the story.
