Assassin's Creed Ragnarok release in 2020 may give a minor character a major role

    Posted: 15 Dec 2019 04:37 PM PST

They should go back to making sequels

    Posted: 15 Dec 2019 02:25 AM PST

Does it really need further explanation?

Making sequels is good for character development and makes you sympathetic to the hero's cause.

Look at Ezio, we saw him literally being born in AC2 and all the way to being an old tired guy in Revelations and it was good (depends on your view too)

But how many of us can disagree that Edward needed a sequel (that took place after his return to england imo). The gameplay was good, the characters were good, the story ended bitter-sweet and the fans could relate to the guy but instead they went and introduced another character and left him too after the game.we should've seen edward die at the end of his sequel and it would've been heartbreaking.

Idk about yall but I think Unity need another chance too, it wasn't the best of games but imo I think given support Unity WOULD'VE been the best of these games. It was a premature masterpiece.

Agree or disagree please share your opinion in the comments

The animus is such an interesting concept that I feel is being wasted

    Posted: 15 Dec 2019 07:41 AM PST

The ability to relive your ancestors memories due to triple helix. Being able to explore these up until the creation of the gamete that creates you.

The animus evolving should have been a bigger deal, capturing descendants or stealing their genetic material to relieve their ancestors memories yourself would have been the first step.

The next evolution would be extracting dna from source and using that to relieve the sources memories and potentially genetic memories, but I feel the animus is being used way too nonchalantly.

I think in the modern day something should happen to destroy the helix and return to the ancestor animus and from there it can re evolve and be done narrative justice and move the story forward.

Is Arno still part of the Assassin Brotherhood in Paris?

    Posted: 15 Dec 2019 04:10 PM PST

I just finished the story for AC:U again and something struck me as I was nearing the end of it. On many occasions Arno corrected people believing he was an assassin telling them he wasn't anymore. In his last fight with Germain, Germain acknowledges the fact that Arno is facing him head on rather than a more traditional stealth approach by regular assassins. Also, Arno seems to be the only protagonist in any of these games to wield and keep and piece of Eden (excluding kassandra/alexios) since the brotherhood usually keeps these items under wrap as they're really dangerous. It makes me believe that Arno is representative of the "gray Jedi" situation where he believes in order and balance, and will use any means necessary to keep that, but will not take it so far as to harm innocents for his own personal gain. Just a thought as I was finishing up, there's still a lot of things that don't add up if he has left the brotherhood such as: how does he still have the sword, how did he obtain his master assassin outfit, and how how can still access the brotherhood sanctum below the café. I'd love to hear anyone else's theories if they've thought of this too.

My Ideal Assassin's Creed Game set in Japan.

    Posted: 15 Dec 2019 06:20 PM PST

I (and many others) have wanted a AC game set in Japan, mostly because assassins and ninjas go together like chocolate and peanut-butter. But i think there are a lot more things that make Japan a really good fit, not only setting wise but also game play wise, for a AC game. (note: I did some very quick research on this and by no means do I claim I am a expert on the topic of medieval Japan)

First is the list of wants. ninjas and samurai, AC odyssey combat system, a revamped stealth and parkour system similar to the AC of old, and a story about the Assassins and Templar.

The time period can be in 1400s. This is when samurai where a normal part of life and after ninjas started appearing. Notably this would take place right around AC 2 if we were to go for the 1400s.

What really gets me exited is to think about how many different stories you could tell in this setting. A ninja that stumbles into joining the Assassins, or an already assassin coming to Japan for a mission. But I like the idea of a samurai that was forced by someone to dishonor himself in some way and instead of committing seppuku became a assassin to help hide himself and to help find out who the person was and get revenge. Along the way get warped up in other Assassin vs. Templar missions.

A skill tree similar to Origins and Odyssey would be here where it is slit between 3 trees that i will affectionately name the samurai tree, ninja tree, and the tool tree. Samurai would focuses on combat skills, ninja would be stealth, and tool would be tools to assist in the other two trees like ninja stars, smoke bombs, rope dart, etc.

Japan cities would be a great return to form for both stealth and parkour. If I'm going to be honest in AC origins and Odyssey I really notice the lack of both of those just because of how the cities where in the game. Far apart with maybe a rope between the two. But with Japan they have both the population for blending and buildings for climbing to really get back to the roots of Assassins Creed.

The next would be the world itself. I would want a open world more like origins that is detailed beautifully and didn't have copy pasted caves like Odyssey. I want to be rewarded for exploring the world more then just a rare pair of boots.

Speaking of boots, customization should still be here but i feel the odyssey style where you had 8 pieces of gear that changed how you look and your stats might have been a little much for AC. Don't get me wrong I don't hate the RPG elements its just i don't think you stats should be based on how you look. So probably just have costumes again that are just for cosmetics.

TLDR: I would make Assassins creed: japan addition be a nice return to form for the ac games. Bringing back the some old stealth and parkour and keeping the new combat system for a best of both world experience.

    New Game Plus question

    Posted: 15 Dec 2019 10:01 PM PST

Alright I have finished the main story + dlc and I did a mistake about the legendary Isu weapon, I'm planning to reforge them if ng+ can do it. I tested ng+ but I still have my forged legendary Isu weapon in my inventory. Does it reforge when I get to Fate of Atlantis episode 3? The legendary Isu weapon is very cool but I accidentally forged the wrong weapon and I lost my previous save file.

Another AC with the Unity's multiplayer. What do you guys think?

    Posted: 15 Dec 2019 01:33 PM PST

I understand that the game was buggy (wasn't that bad for my playthrough). Anyway the multipleplayer aspect is just a great idea to me. I feel like alot of assassin's missions would be in small groups/teams depending on the time period the game is set in. Just the idea of taking down a huge complex or building with 2 or 3 other friends would be fun. Also I think it would be a great way to expand the tools and weapons in the game. What do you guys think?

Were Shaun and Becca trained to fight? If not, why?

    Posted: 15 Dec 2019 11:34 PM PST

I understand there's more to the brotherhood then fighting but we all know it's an important one. I'm replaying the series and aside from Syndicate, we never see either of them engage in any real fighting. And even then, they didn't perform admirably in the combat department. I mean, for people a part of a guild of Assassins, you'd think that would be a top priority.

So do you think Becca and Shaun received any training? Were they in the Brotherhood since birth? Or are they merely sympathetic specialists who were recruited for that specific purpose and nothing else?

Review - Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (Switch)

    Posted: 15 Dec 2019 10:35 PM PST

I actually like AC odyssey - my opinion on the game and what to keep/change in the next one

    Posted: 15 Dec 2019 05:01 PM PST

I just want to make this post because for the last years this sub was mostly filled with negative comments about odyssey so let me just cheer up some people who also like this game. Let me also say for the sake of a discussion that I played all other main AC games and I dont play any single player RPG so people wont call me a newbie or state that I should go back to witcher, skyrim etc...

First let me start with the negatives because Im not just gonna fan boy the game and claim that its perfect. The main story is bad. I feel like last good story was AC:IV and since then every next one got worse and worse and Odyssey is no exception. I didnt care for my family at all. I didnt care who from my family members will survive and who dies and I did not like Demos as villain. Also I feel the story was badly paced. Only thing that got me somewhat interested was the story about Pythagoras and teh staff(Kassandra showing in present day was one of my favorite moments in the series). The naval combat was plain and boring, after some time i was only ramming enemy ships because shoting your arrows and javelins wasnt fun at all. I really liked naval combat in AC:IV so this was a big let down. Im not a fan of gender selection. While I chose Kassandra and I liked her as a character I feel the story could have been much better if it was tailored just for her. Last thing are the dialogue choices, while Im not againts it and believe it was executed poorly in Odyssey. The choices were meaningles and had minimal inpact on the story overall. So for next game I would like them to make the choices much more impactful or get rid of them.

Now what everyone is waiting for the positives. First of all the setting, I love Ancient Greece and I think Ubisoft executed It really well. The world looked beautiful, walking through cities or riding through the natures felt really immersive and I could spent hours just walking around observe my surrounding and make pictures. The side characters in the game were the saviours of the story I couldnt wait to meet Alkibiades again, I was super exited when Hippokrates joined my ship and best of all were the debates with Socrates. Also Herodotos, Barnabas, brasidas were all great characters. Gameplay wise I dont really understand people who say there is no stealth. For me this was the best stealth in any AC game you can sneak through bushes, you can go invisible, you can run on rooftops and when there is a group of enemies you can just zoom among them and drop them dead with your rush assassination and you also get stealth bonus when you sneak during night. For me this is a big improvement from the previous games when you just stand in crown a hope they move the way you need to go. The gear system was great. You can customize your build in any way you want. For example I went for full assassin build with the -75% health +100% damage perk and its great with tweaking the build I can stay invisible for super long, one shot anything that I encounter in the world and as a true assassin its really challenging when you get spotted because you die in 2 hits so it adds more challenge, either you cant get spotted or if you do you have to fight perfectly. Combat system is also a big improvment from previous games where you counter once and then just mindlessly spam attack button until everyone is dead. I think from what I already said its pretty clear I liked the abilities in game, it made both combat and stealth more enjoyable. I liked Kassandra as a main character and would put her in my top 3. Overall Odyssey is tied for my favourite game with AC:IV and AC:II trailing close second.

I dont want to go to too much details with the DLCs so I dont spoil anything but lets just say I didnt like the first DLC at all but the second one Fate of Atlantis was great and I really enjoyed it. For me it was without a doubt the best DLC in the franchise.

Im not going to rate modern day because (and I know 90% of this sub is going to hate me for saying this) I dont care about modern day at all. I hate it. Only thing going through my mind when I play a modern day sequnce is: " Please let me go back to animus let me get back to my actual character and let me relive history. I dont care about any of this."

So for next game I would like to keep the ability tree, the gear system and the dialogue choices. I dont want to see naval combat nor character selection and please lets finally get a decent story.

    tl;dr

Love the game. Even though it has some negatives like bad story or boring naval combat, it has much more good things like side characters, immersive world, gameplay in general and gear system. Hope they keep this formula for next game with some polishing and upgrades.

Tell me do you agree, disagree or just tell me what do you have to say to this.

What is different in the AC3 remaster?

    Posted: 15 Dec 2019 07:53 AM PST

I'm playing the remaster for the first time, and whenever I encounter a glitch and look it up, there are numerous posts from like, 7 years ago about it. This is a genuine question — what did they spend their time on if not fixing any of the zillion glitches in this game?? (I love the game btw, I just would think that would be a priority for me if I were a game developer!)

I've been looking for over half an hour now and I still have not found a way to see them much less save them. I went on the AC Photo Mode website and logged in and still haven't seen that option so does anyone know how I can see that list?
