AC Vikings should bring back AC3 animal hunting mechanic

    Posted: 04 Dec 2019 08:21 AM PST

I think this setting is one of the most suited for hunting, skinning animals since AC3, so why not bring it back for the next game but with more diverse tools and realism, less about 'boss fighting' animals but more about hunting them in a realistic way.

so I just finished playing Assassin's Creed III again, and why do people hate Connor exactly?

    Posted: 04 Dec 2019 08:59 PM PST

I know a lot of people claim he has no personality, but I just don't see that. sure he's no Ezio in terms of charisma, but did we really want another Ezio after 3 great games with him? instead we got a very unique character who's devotion to his people, to everyday people, and to the Creed is pretty much unmatched. sure his personality doesn't ALWAYS shine through in story (it's still pretty good there) but it REALLY shines through in the homestead missions. I just feel like the people who hate him we're expecting another Ezio and so they didn't pay attention to the character that Connor was

The best setting for an Assassin's Creed game: The Age of Discovery. It combines the European vibrant element of the Ezio games with the tropical aspects of Ac4. It also features the world's first global empires, funded by actual templars. Perfect, lore wise

    Posted: 04 Dec 2019 05:46 PM PST

The Age of Discovery was the age of maritime discovery and colonization from the 15th to the 17th century. But why is it so good for an AC?

    THE MAP

The most critically acclaimed games, both by critics and fans, in this franchise are the Ezio games and Black Flag.

The Ezio trilogy features a vibrant style in the form of its renaissance architecture. The atmosphere is a beautiful one but filled with the intrigue of the era.

Black Flag features a tropical setting, vibrant as well but in a much different way. The vastness of the ocean, sailing it with your crew, the intrigue of the deep jungle lends itself rather well for an AC.

With an Age of Discovery game you get the possibly to have both types of setting in the same game.

One of the strengths of Origins was precisely the variety of its map.

This would take it further. You'd get urban sprawling cities... And vast oceans and island in the same game.

    REAL LIFE FACTS AND LORE

The early Age of Discovery was also the age that witnessed the first global empires in the history of the world. Portugal and Spain.

The expeditions made by these countries to establish world empires were also largely financed by Templars.

One could argue the first global empires are the first time the Templars achieve global domination.

A fact that would translate perfectly to the lore of the series setting the perfect political drama for the Assassins to fight against.

    THE MODERN DAY LORE

The real life Assassins, or rather, the Nizari Ismailli, have their headquarters in Lisbon.

One could play with this fact, have the Assassins have their HQ in that city and have a sort of mini open world or New York style mission.

In the Assassins Creed movie, the Templars hold significant presence in Spain with the presence of the Abstergo Foundation.

    So, Iberia game when, Ubi?

A watercolour painting I made, of the Karnak temple in Thebes, from AC Origins

What would you like to see, or to not see, in a homestead/homebase in future AC games?

    Posted: 04 Dec 2019 09:37 AM PST

I'm replaying the Ezio trilogy for the 10th anniversary of AC II. I'm currently on Brotherhood and it's a nightmare to get 100% syncronization

    Posted: 04 Dec 2019 11:44 AM PST

Luckily I got it on the Tank level (on my 2nd time, but replaying the level again is a kick in the balls). The one who gave me more anxiety was The Wolves around the death or whatever was named, because I only got 8 minutes to complete it, was the only one on my previous game years ago on the ps3 (now I'm playing on PC and bought it along Revelations 3 days ago), and it bugged me IN THE End so I had to replay it again xd. There's one I can't figure how to do 100% synch in which I have to beat a dude without him touching the prostitute (he does that when I see him) and I'd like help to get it. Is Revelations easier to 100%?

    Assassin's Creed Games Knowledge Quiz

    Posted: 04 Dec 2019 11:43 AM PST

I’m interested in where the movie’s story is at 3 years later but since it’s release there’s been no new developments on the story’s progression. Maybe we should just consider it non canon at this point?

    Posted: 04 Dec 2019 11:36 PM PST

I apologise if this has already been said before. I'm still quite new to this subreddit, but I'm certain this hasn't been brought up in at least the last few weeks.

Now, imo the movie was mediocre but I enjoyed it for the most part. But since the movie was released, we haven't heard anything about the progression of events that occurred in that 1 and a half hours. As a bit of a recap, at the end of the movie we see Cal and co with the Apple, and Cal does a leap of faith and the screen goes to black. Since then, as far as I know, nothing has even been mentioned of the character or this new Apple of Eden, not in books, not in comics, not in the 2 games that have come out since. Or maybe I've missed some Easter egg or something? But as far as I know, Cal and that Apple don't even exist in the AC universe due to lack of mention. With a weapon like the Apple, with its immense power, I would have thought either the Assassins would've tracked it down by now, Cal would have gone looking for a cell to hand it in and officially join the Brotherhood, or the Templars would be hot on his trail. But since '16? Nada. I think. If there's been any new developments that I've missed, which is likely, please let me know and forget I ever posted this. If not, well my thoughts...

The fact of the matter is that the inmates of the Foundation were not real Assassins, save for Cal's father. They were criminals kidnapped off the streets who discovered their lineage and the existence of Assassins and Templars through the memories locked away in their DNA, and became kind of fanatic in that way. None of them as I can recall have ever even met a real modern day Assassin. So since it's been 3 years and the sequel to the movie's been axed, I would have thought Ubisoft would've dropped a hint about where the story is currently but then I have this unnerving feeling they may have done what they do with pretty much every other character that wasn't Altaïr, Ezio or Desmond. They've just forgotten about them altogether with no intention of even finishing where they left of. All I want is an update from some Easter egg in game or perhaps wrap it all up in a comic like they did with Juno. There won't be another movie, but since they started it, I would like that they finish it, one way or another.

It makes no sense for the past 3 years Cal has been in hiding, hasn't even been found by no one and still retains the Apple, the very thing he knows, or should know, is too dangerous for just him alone to carry. At this moment in time, if Ubisoft is going to just forget the movie ever happened, I'd rather everything that happened be considered non cannon with the only exception of Rikkin's death since that has been Easter Egg'd in Origins and the establishment of Foundation, cause we already know canonically Shaun infiltrated the facility in 2016. Damn it Ubisoft, you start something you have to finish it, goddamnit!

How do we fix the Modern Day AC storyline?

    Posted: 04 Dec 2019 09:23 AM PST

I'm all for it. The modern day storyline is integral to the AC universe, because it ties everything together. It's the entire reason for people using the animus and tapping into their ancestors' memories. Plus, everyone loves a good man vs. environment story, and a fight against "the system" is a timeless fight, one that I felt the games before ac3 absolutely nailed.

I loved Desmond's original modern day storyline before he was abruptly and rudely taken from us, and I think the original plan to make him a master assassin would've worked really well. Obviously we don't have that option anymore, so what do you think Ubisoft can do to revive the modern day storyline?

Better writers would be a start.

    Assassins creed survey [OC]

    Posted: 04 Dec 2019 07:31 AM PST

Hi, me and a friend spend some time to create Assassins Creed survey to try and see what the people are thinking about the game and the future of the game, it's around 10 questions and once we collect enough data we will share some charts with our findings. The survey is only AC based and it's only for fans, we're just interested in what you think and the fan base, nothing else. If you're willing to spend two minutes to help us out we will be very grateful.

[Spoiler] My thoughts about the five masked ones

    Posted: 04 Dec 2019 09:19 AM PST

So I was bored and I decided to find out who were the five masked ones.

We know for sure that Flavius was the one who killed Khemu ( he confessed to it and also his voice is really different from all the others).

Then we know ( by confession and name in the subtitles but also by voice) the second one was Medamun.

But what about the other three?

Well next we know there were just man ( so it wasn't Khaliset or Berenike ). And they were all white which excludes Taharqua.

By the voice and accent ( and the subtitles ) we know the man that was holding Bayek by neck ( nek ) was Rudjek. And the other two were smaller and thinner and that means there wasn't Septimius.

And from confessions we know that Eudoros and Pothinus weren't there.

Eudoros: That forsaken shithole? I had nothing to do with that disaster.

Pothinus: THEY ( not WE ) went too far that day in Siwa. I knew it then. ( but I'm not 100% sure about him )

This leaves us with Hetepi, Actaeon and Ktesos.

It could have been any two from then but I think it wasn't Hetepi because he would cough at least once.

The final list: Flavius, Rudjek, Medamun, ?Actaeon and ?Ktesos ( maybe Hetepi or/and Pothinus).

Help me catch up on the modern day story line?

    Posted: 04 Dec 2019 10:55 AM PST

The last AC I played and beat was Assassin's creed 4. I remember in 1,2 and 3 it was leading up to the whole '2012' storyline thing with Juno and in the end it was revealed that with the "right" choice, Desmond would, in a cyclical nature, lead people, and in time be mistaken as a Messiah or something.

I remember all of this having a profound impact on me and I felt like it was a cool story, but in AC4 (which was certainly fun to play) the modern day storyline didn't really go anywhere.

Has the Desmond storyline picked up? Is Juno on to something? Is the world ending? Are the Templar's just dicking around at this point?

What were the early AC games like?

    Posted: 04 Dec 2019 09:20 AM PST

I've only played Origins and Odyssey and I've been told that both were much different from the earlier releases. What was the difference between them? Why did Ubisoft make such a drastic change with Origins?

A really crazy idea for the future of AC

    Posted: 04 Dec 2019 08:17 AM PST

So Layla "breaks the code", the Isu temples speak about in Origins. This ends up with the whole world breaking apart/glitching out, and it turns out that we were actually in the animus the whole time. Our new protagonist wakes up from the animus in the far future, in a world completely dominated by the Isu (or the Templars).

The following games follow a new gang of future assassins who are trying to liberate the world. It's a really wacky and daring idea, but I think it could really bring back the mystery and darkness to this franchise.

Is There Any Reason To This IRL Story In AC?

    Posted: 04 Dec 2019 07:07 PM PST

Be civil here with your responses. I could of just stuck to a one track minded opinion and said that the irl story of AC is garbage for the story in game but I am giving it a chance in hearing out what it is actually about. I've been playing AC:OriginsOdyssey for 40 hours so far and the one thing I've been doing is spamming the space bar when the irl part of the story comes up. It's just such a huge disconnect from the story in game. Maybe that is what they were going for with the whole simulation thing but to me it feels like they shouldn't of had the irl part to begin with. I feel you don't need those segments to begin with as you can tell a meaningful story in game about a league of assassins and a brotherhood that is being established. Again, I don't even know what the irl story part of the game is as I skipped it all due to wanting to get back to the story of the world I was playing in. So what is this irl story about and does it serve a purpose to the story we are playing in with this in game world?

[No Ancient Greece story spoilers if you can please. I am actually enjoying this story so far. Could be better but it still is enjoyable to a few degrees.]
