[Day 01/72] Assassin's Creed - Memory Block 01 & 02 - 'Visions of the Future' Posted: 10 Oct 2019 07:00 AM PDT AC Marathon 2019 - Day 01Assassin's Creed - Memory Block 01 & 02 - 'Visions of the Future'Hello, Assassins! Today is the very first day of the 2019 Assassin's Creed Marathon, and we start off with the first two memory blocks in the entire series. This game is where it all began. The first Assassin's Creed is quite divisive amongst fans – Many people love it, for its story, interesting concepts and the immersive setting, while others despise it for the repetitive mission design and clunky mechanics. Either way, there's no denying the significance of today's sequence. It set the stage for the world of the entire series, and introduced us to two of the most memorable protagonists in the franchise's history. Even tho Im not hyped about Vikings, I reckon it can be an amazing game Posted: 10 Oct 2019 10:16 PM PDT To me, the logical next game was Imperial Rome, that was the way to end an antiquity trilogy, with the most important city of the history of western civilization. The city's most important temple was dedicated to the most important of the Isu, you have an amazing story right there. People say that we already had the city of Rome, but you cant even compare the magnificense of Imperial Rome to brotherhood's Rome, and btw the next game will probably have London and/or Paris too, and I dont see people bitching about it, double moral I guess. Still, despite all this I just said, I have faith in Ashraf, both Black Flag and Origins are one of my favorite games ever, so Im pretty sure the game will not dissapoint. I have really thought of ways of making this game awesome, I have some ideas, and I would love to have a discussion with you guys about it: The map should be some parts of scandinavia, and England, with the first Dlc adding the Carolingian empire, with northen France, maybe even ParÃs (I would love to see both ParÃs and Londenwick in the game), the second Dlc obviously will be Valhalla and mythological stuff. I personally think the game will be called kingdom because one of these reasons: 1. You will be a Jarl and have to build you own kingdom, or 2. We will have a Odyssey Athens V Sparta battles in the next game, fighting for the multiple Anglosaxon kingdoms, gaining and losing territories. Both Odyssey and Origins were sunny games, this one should be dark and gloomy, with a lot of fog, and big scary storms at sea, in the cities there should be very dense, at least the big ones, (York, Paris, London) with narrow streets just like Unity's, and the little villages should be very open with showing the feudal production system of the epoch, there should be roman cities in ruins to make the map more diverse, because in the dark ages architecture was not very cool. The story should be the darkest one yet with a lot of gore, I think its a good idea to be a proto templar in this game, because the assassin, or in this case, the hidden one's code would restring our character a lot. Because if you have a Vikings game you should be able to pillage little towns, and do crazy viking stuff, to for me it would be better and more fun to be a "bad guy" on this one. Gameplay wise I reckon this one will be like Odyssey, because money talks, and Odyssey was super rentable so its obvious from an economic point of view of making the game more like Odyssey rather than Origins, but please oh please Ubi, give us one hit assassinations, and remove the excesive grind, and please give us both shields and A HIDDEN BLADE!!, This game should have dismemberments as well, imagine cuting the head of some dude with your viking axe, Epic!! This are some ideas I have, what do you guys think??? [link] [comments]
Which Type of AC Game Does Everyone Prefer? Posted: 10 Oct 2019 04:28 PM PDT Title kinda explains itself, and I'm sure this has been asked a lot before but I'm curious as to what the balance is between people preferring the older style of AC game (1-Syndicate) compared to those who prefer the new, more RPG-like style (Origins & Odyssey) While I do like some of the new mechanics and Origins is one of my favourites in the series, personally I'd still have to say I prefer the older style of the games. I grew up with them, and beyond that, I just prefer how they felt like they're own type of game, while the new games, especially Odyssey, just feel like Witcher knock-offs. So yeah, what's people's preference, and why? [link] [comments]
Posted: 10 Oct 2019 08:36 PM PDT Holy FUCK I hate the tank mission in Brotherhood. More than collecting all the flags in 1 and the feathers in 2, more than the Romulus lairs, more than just about every experience I've had playing video games. Every time, I get to the final bit; every time, I get hit; every time, I have to spend 10 minutes redoing the first 90% of the mission. Fuck this mission. [link] [comments]
Posted: 10 Oct 2019 10:56 PM PDT What are people's thoughts on a game where you don't play as an assassin or Templar at all? Like maybe you got caught up in the war, finding a piece of Eden and getting attacked from both sides? Obviously the lore would still play a key role but I think it could be interesting to get a fresh new angle on the story telling. Thoughts? [link] [comments]
Posted: 10 Oct 2019 06:08 PM PDT So I finally started AC Unity since the horrible launch and I definitely waited to long. Now granted I'm not very far but I'm really enjoying the game so far. I'm not really sure on the general opinion of the game.(This is my first time posting so I'm not really aware 😛 [link] [comments]
What would your ideal Templar game be like? Posted: 10 Oct 2019 11:23 AM PDT Assassin's Creed Rogue is my favorite game in the series. I love seeing the other side of the war between the Assassins and Templars. If Ubisoft were to make another game where you played as a Templar, what would you want it to be like? Ghost Recon Breakpoint is more of an Assassin's Creed game than the latest two entries. Posted: 10 Oct 2019 11:47 PM PDT Why? Because you are an assassin. Your silenced kill won't draw the attention of all enemies. A guard calling out before your blade silences them doesnt immediately aggro every guard. Just the closer ones. A sweet baby jesus drizzled with maple syrup, when you use stealth to get the jump on enemies, you are rewarded with a satisfying takedown animation. No BS health drop, just stabbing, blood and death. What we signed up for in 2007. Feels great to stealth areas and be the predator once more. It kinda shows how a modern AC could work too. Doesn't matter if the enemy has guns if they can't see you before it's too late. Change my mind. [link] [comments]

If there's anything else you're interested, ask it in the comments and we'll add it to the list! WHAT IS THE MARATHON / HOW DOES IT WORK?The Assassin's Creed Marathon is an annual event on /r/assassinscreed, where fans of the series replay the games together, one sequence at a time. Every day we play roughly one memory sequence of an Assassin's Creed title, then talk about it in a daily discussion thread. The daily threads that are posted include other content as well, such as live streams, featured videos, official wallpapers and fanart. Posted: 10 Oct 2019 05:44 AM PDT I'm at Level 51 and my mother has just arrived in Sparta as part of the main quest. I thought I'd clean up all the major side quests before I moved on to the main quest endgame. I became the Arena champion, killed almost all the cultists, and have just completed the "Mythical Creatures / Atlantis" storyline. Thing is, that storyline's conclusion feels so complete, like the end of the game, that I feel like going back to complete the main quest would be like eating a meal, enjoying coffee and dessert, and then going back in for another helping of the entree. It feels like it's time to walk away. That said, I've always been fascinated by ancient Greece and have enjoyed my time in the game's world. I just wish Ubisoft had structured the game so that I'd reach what seems like this natural conclusion after (or as part of) the main quest. Had I known how things would play out, I'd have saved it for last. {Background: first time AC player who has been fascinated by Greece since reading D'Aulaire's Myths of the Greeks and Romans as a child. Studied Greek philosophy and the Peloponnesian War in grad school, have led tours of that war's Sicilian battle sites (and Syracuse harbor), have visited Athens and Crete. I probably spent at least twenty hours wandering around the game's world just site-seeing. Ubisoft did a magnificent job of creating a beatifully stylized, yet remarkably accurate, Ancient Greece.} [link] [comments]
Assassin's Creed Triple Pack: Black Flag, Unity, Syndicate // Trophy information Posted: 10 Oct 2019 09:46 AM PDT Tried searching for info on this for ages and couldn't find anything so here we are. Can anyone who bought this confirm whether this set comes with its own trophies or are they the same exact trophies as the individual games had? Also, is there anything extra added to these, in similar sense that the Ezio Collection had the two short movies and all the DLC? Or are these just the base games bundled up nicely? Where do you think the best setting for a new Assassin's Creed game could be? Posted: 10 Oct 2019 09:30 AM PDT This question's probably been asked a million times, I know, but part of me feels as if they've exhausted most of the interesting and still somewhat major parts of history that an Assassin's Creed game could fit in. Don't get me wrong, there's plenty of history left to tell stories in, but none really seem to click with "an AC game" in my head. Personally, I'd love to see a game set in Ancient Mesopotamia. It's the first group of human civilizations, and given that I doubt many cavemen and proto-human species used Isu artifacts, much of their technology might still be around. Also, given that it's the first set of human civilizations, some parallels could be drawn between the Isu and Mesopotamia. The far-past nature of those cultures gives the writers a bit of a creative leniency in doing what they want, whilst still being restrained by the little we know. [link] [comments]
I want Black flag/Rogue to release on next gen consoles Posted: 10 Oct 2019 04:29 AM PDT Both games were really good and actually I am missing those, it was released during early part of current gen which doesn't have much strong build like Origins and Odyssey The major thing is they should rebuild the map with accessible islands/mainland's without any loading in between (we can excuse for Rogue's three seperate maps loading screen because it cannot be connected easily), but in other things of Black flag/Rogue were we cannot explore everything during sailing unlike Odyssey So both games were released for current gen and I hope they re-release on next gen consoles as strong remaster or remake with updated graphics [link] [comments]
'Not My Mother's Daughter' - what is this quest doing in this game?! So bad. Posted: 10 Oct 2019 06:07 AM PDT I'm loving AC Odyssey so far. The freedom to roleplay, to shape Alexios/Kassandra in to the character you want. Sure it's not the most complex for that as far as RPGs go but you still have so much control, and one of the most evident aspects of that is in who you romance. I finished this quest and I'm just gobsmacked. In a game that normally gives you so much more freedom about your PC and who you romance (let's not talk about the DLC ending...) this just felt so clumsy and awful. I don't know how on earth it made it in to final release! Just wanted to rage a bit. [link] [comments] |
