The 2019 Assassin's Creed Marathon starts in one week!

Hello, assassins! In just one week, on October 10th, this year's 72-day long Assassin's Creed Marathon will begin!

Every day, starting October 10th, we will play roughly one sequence of an Assassin's Creed game. 72 days later, all games released on the last console generation in the series will be replayed, and we'll celebrate Assassin's Creed Day, remembering that Desmond saved the world.
A discussion thread will be posted every day, featuring live streams, wallpapers, fan art and more!

Here is a list of things you can expect to see as part of this year's Assassin's Creed Marathon:

    DISCUSSION

After you've played the sequence of a particular day, you can jump into the daily threads and start discussing it with other Marathoners. Talk about your thoughts freely and engage in conversation with others.

Active participants of daily threads will be eligible to enter an official Marathon giveaway. More info on that below.

    LIVE STREAMS AND VIDEOS

Unable to play certain sequences? We got you covered. Every day there will be a team of AC Marathon live streamers broadcasting their playthroughs at different times, so you'll always be up to speed. Streamers who prefer to play and record ahead of time will have links to their pre-recorded sequences featured as well.

Interested in live streaming and becoming a streamer? Join our Discord for all the details regarding Marathon live streaming!

    FAN CREATIONS

Every thread will feature relevant fan art from the AC community, relevant to whichever sequence or game we're playing.

    GIVEAWAY

This year we are giving away a set of prizes.
These include a copy of the new Essential Guide, a digital copy of Assassin's Creed Odyssey Gold for the platform of your choice and an Art Commission done by NightFell

A total of three winners will be picked, each will get a copy of the new Essential Guide, Odyssey Gold and an Art Commission based on these constraints:
First Prize: One full color digital, single character, Full body portrait
Second & Third Prize: One sketch digital, single character bust/half-body portrait

Please note: Winners can choose a single character from the AC franchise or their own personal AC-inspired original characters. Please note the prizes will not include detail rendered backgrounds. Since the work will be custom made, please allow 3-4 weeks for prize completion from start to finish. It's very likely the art will be completed sooner, but patience is appreciated nevertheless.

To be eligible for this year's giveaway, you must comment on at least 42 total threads across all games, including one thread from each game (DLCs don't count as a separate game, Liberation does). Replies to other comments count as well. Engaging in discussion with other users is strongly encouraged!

Your account must be older than the Day 01 post of this year's Marathon and you will have to confirm your participation at the end of the Marathon by commenting on the final thread.

Extremely low-effort comments may lead to exclusion from the giveaway (if your comment fits in a Tweet, it's too short).

Special thanks to the Assassin's Creed ComDevs from Ubisoft for providing copies of the Essential Guide and Assassin's Creed Odyssey and making the giveaway possible.

    Just played Black Flag Checkers...

It's meant to be a joke, right? Please, god. I can't believe I bet the maximum of 500 coins and then proceeded to spend the next HALF HOUR battling it out with this scary-good checkers AI.

I feel like I just stepped back to reality. What the actual hell was that?!

How do I activate a missing mission?

    Posted: 03 Oct 2019 10:55 PM PDT

So I recently started Assassin Creez: Ezio Collection on the PS4. I just finished Revelations and I'm going through trying to platinum the game. As I was going through the DNA strand I found a missing 'Secret Location.' Where the mission should be, it shows 'Insufficient Data To Access.' I already have one, which is the "The Impaler's Tomb' which I have completed. I'm assuming the missing mission is the Vlad Prison one. I already purchased it through the UPlay Store but it isn't showing up on my map. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, how do you find the rest of Piri Reis Missions, because they aren't popping up either.

A little bit disappointed by The Rooks in AC:Syndicate

    Posted: 03 Oct 2019 09:27 PM PDT

When I get to the mission where Jacob says he need a gang to fight the Blighters, I was expecting something like in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.

Saving people in need and recruiting them into The Rooks, it was such a nice idea too, not letting them into the Brotherhood (like in AC:B) but at the same time putting these people to work for the Assassin's cause.

Also hoping for at least a little bit more utilization for them instead of just call one on the street and fight this guy I pointed at.

in AC:B, we can recruit 3 kinds of ally:

    1. Mercenary, to fight enemies from the front, but can't freerun,

    2. Thief, to lure a target away from his guard post, can follow you to the rooftops, but can't fight for shit, and

    3. Courtesan, to distract a target so you can enter a restricted area without going the high way or the violent way

Out of those three, The Rooks are only the Mercenary type, albeit with different body build and weapons. The closest one to Thief type are the kids, but I can't seem to recruit them, they only give crafting items when I press the 'recruit' button. It seems there's no Courtesan type in Syndicate.

Actually now that I think about it, it's also harder to blend in with the crowd, there's no more slow walk (only walk and sprint/freerun compared to walk, fast walk, and freerun in AC - AC4), and benches are now useless when you're being chased.

I was hoping to relive the badass moment in Brotherhood where I just raise Ezio's arm and rain of arrows kill all the enemies within my sight, or at least to utilize the gang to do miscellaneous jobs to get more money and become stronger but no, all the upgrades are bought with money and crafting items.

Maybe I'm too hopeful for another AC:Brotherhood...

Despite all these complaints, I'm actually having a decent time with AC:Syndicate, it just falls a few centimeters short of my expectations...

200-300% damage when on fire + 600% restore adrenalin bar when perfect dodge but catches on fire?

    Posted: 03 Oct 2019 12:49 PM PDT

In the early stage in the game I stubled on a legendary weapon with a legendary engraving that had something like 200-300% (or more?) damage when on fire. I have mot seen that since, and I stop by every single shop that I happen to get close to. I found a lego weapon in the shop that restore 600% of adrenalin bar when you performe a perfect dodge but you catch on fire? Somehow if I would have bought that weapon in the beggining with couple of hundred % extra damage on fire I think it would have been pretty fkn amazing!

To the question, is there a secret place where I can find that weapon with that engraving? (the one that deals damage when on fire)

    Thanks in advance :)

What triggers Odyssey's mercenaries to change their rarity/stats?

    Posted: 03 Oct 2019 02:47 PM PDT

Hi, I'm currently replaying Odyssey and found some really nice mercenaries that I'd like to add to my ship as lieutenants. Unfortunately their stats are all only epic, not legendary. I do know that the stats change each time you reload and the rarity DOES occasionally change from epic to legendary or vice versa over time but I don't know how. In my previous playthrough I've come across several mercs that had a different rarity when compared to when I first met them so there must be something.
Does anyone know what triggers the rarity change? Maybe after a level-up or two? It's hard to tell.
Please let me know if you observed this before. Thanks!

AC2: I'm stuck in Auditore Crypt and i'm ready to give up. Although i enjoyed the story so far...

    Posted: 03 Oct 2019 08:13 AM PDT

What happend? At this point in the story I don't play but fight controller mechanics because there are strange/fixed camera angles and unpredictable jump targets.

Timed trials were never my favorite but with that given strange camera there it's pure frustration.

    Dear assassins,

I have the Ezio trilogy, what do i miss when i don't finish 1st part? Are 2nd and 3rd part similar in timed trials and camera annoyance?

    Sad Ezio
