Announcing the 2019 Assassin's Creed Marathon!

    Posted: 12 Sep 2019 09:02 AM PDT

The Assassin's Creed Marathon is back!

Hello again, Assassins! We're glad to announce that the annual Assassin's Creed Marathon is back for a sixth time. This means it's our five-year anniversary doing this.
The 2019 Assassin's Creed Marathon will begin on October 10th. Over the course of 72 days, we will replay many of the games in the Assassin's Creed series, roughly one sequence at a time, leading up to December 21st, Assassin's Creed Day!
To make the Marathon happen in this shorter than usual time span, the list of games to be played was trimmed down slightly, but also expanded with requests from the last few years.

NEW HERE? HERE'S HOW IT WORKS:

As always, a little paragraph for those who are unfamiliar. The Assassin's Creed Marathon is a yearly event on r/AssassinsCreed where the community gets together to replay games in the Assassin's Creed series, one sequence a day (sorta). We start on October 10th, with the first Memory Blocks of the first Assassin's Creed, and 72 days later, we will have replayed all of the games up through Rogue (and some DLCs), just in time for Assassin's Creed Day!

A discussion thread is posted every day, including fan art, live streams, wallpapers and more! Here's a short list of things you can expect from this year's Assassin's Creed Marathon:

    DISCUSSION

Once you've played the sequence of that particular day, you can jump into discussions on Reddit and share your thoughts and experiences. Like last year, discussions during the 2019 Marathon will be entirely open to the players, so you can freely give your thoughts on every sequence and engage in conversation with others.

As ALWAYS, active and loyal participants of this year's Marathon will be eligible for an official giveaway, with a chance to win some cool Assassin's Creed swagger. We are still working out the specifics of the giveaway, and all will be revealed at a later time.

    LIVE STREAMS AND VIDEOS

Unable to play certain sequences? No problem! Every day there will be a team of AC Marathon live streamers broadcasting their playthroughs at different times, so you'll always be up to speed. Streamers who prefer to play and record ahead of time will have links to their pre-recorded sequences featured as well.

Interested in becoming a streamer? We've made it easier than ever to join the team as a streamer. Join the Assassin's Creed Marathon Discord Server and become a part of the Marathon team! Here's some stuff to keep in mind:

    • Schedule. There isn't a specific timetable which you have to follow! You just let us know the days that you will be able to live stream and at what time (in EST) your stream will begin.
    • Streaming daily is not required. The list of streamers will be changing daily based on streamers' availability, so you can tell us the exact days on which you will be streaming!
    • Play/record ahead of time. If your schedule isn't ideal for live stream, you can record your playthroughs ahead of time and we will feature the links to your recordings instead.
    • Commentating is recommended. If you are able to add your commentary over your stream/video, it would be advised, as it would be more interesting for viewers to watch and it will create opportunities for interaction with the chat.

    SCHEDULE

As we've mentioned, the 2019 Assassin's Creed Marathon starts on October 10th, and this is the schedule we will be following:

    October 10th - Assassin's Creed
    October 15th - Assassin's Creed II
    October 27th - Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
    November 5th - Assassin's Creed: Revelations
    November 13th - Assassin's Creed III
November 23rd - Assassin's Creed III: The Tyranny of King Washington
    November 26th - Assassin's Creed III: Liberation
December 2nd - Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
December 13th - Assassin's Creed IV: Freedom Cry
    December 15th - Assassin's Creed Rogue
    December 21st - Assassin's Creed Day

Some days and sequences have been altered and/or merged for a better experience. To view the full schedule and division of days, visit the 2019 Schedule spreadsheet.

    SEE YOU ON OCTOBER 10th!

We look forward to you guys participating in this year's Marathon. We hope to see both familiar faces and new players!

If you have any questions, feel free to let us know in the comments and we will be sure to answer them.

[Spoilers] TIL that the entire Juno arc ended in the comics, but I'm a tad confused

    Posted: 12 Sep 2019 08:57 AM PDT

This is... news. Read it in a YT comment, and was like "What the hell? That explains why I have not seen anything about that in so many games!"

I watched this video that explained all of it, from start to end.

So... apparently, after Syndicate, the Templars used the Shroud to do what they originally planned, and made an Isu body using DNA from the Sage they had from Black Flag's end.

But I'm confused as to why or how the weird Isu-supremacist cult managed to have Juno downloaded into said body.
Or was it all the cult, and not the Templars in Syndicate?

Not sure how an assassin would have managed to infiltrate a Templar base, or why they'd have a Piece of Eden to use against Juno, but it somehow ended the entire arc.
Can anyone give a bit mroe detail as to how this part went down?

And is the cult just... gone?
So weird for this to not be in any of the games.

Edit: Playing Odyssey, and they just mentioned that Otso Berg is actively hunting the Juno cult. I guess they're not all dead. Yet.

It feels so good to play Unity again after Odyssey

    Posted: 12 Sep 2019 01:51 PM PDT

This isn't a discussion to bash Odyssey, but a simple observation.

I had forgotten how a real AC is above all smooth parkour, a character with "weight", environments that resist you and a real sense of infiltration.

Even the general absence of background/ambiant music no longer displeases me: the abundance of sound effects, the songs, the realistic aspect put forward.

For Arno, I've always preferred taciturn characters to Altair, so it's perfect for me.

And it's crazy that a 2014 game is still so beautiful.

After 30+ hours in Odyssey, I just figured...

    Posted: 12 Sep 2019 08:40 PM PDT

Loot the * before burning them, and you can destroy the arrow and weapon stands.

Ever seen the no armor people that fight you with weapons? They get them from those stands before attacking you. If you destroy them, the workers don't have weapons to battle you with.

    ACOD and the Peloponnesian War

    Posted: 12 Sep 2019 04:15 PM PDT

This is probably well-trodden ground for the sub, but is anyone else a little bothered by the neutrality of Odyssey's misthios and the war never really going anywhere? It's my first AC game, and treating it like a Classical Greece sandbox is a fair bit of fun, but I think it would be enhanced by the possibility of picking a side in the conflict a bit more permanently, or a few more relevant branching decisions in the storyline.

I would like to see a game set in the first crusade for multiple reasons.

    Posted: 12 Sep 2019 10:38 AM PDT

    1. The crusade era is interesting and imo was the best setting in the whole franchise.
    2. The crusades caused the order of ancients, to 'convert' into the knights Templar. We could witness that 'convertion'
    3. I would like to see that old 'find your own target by investigating' and not moving the camera while controlling an Eagle.
    4. The return of the eagle vision is in the top 3 most desired things of mine.

It could have a fighting system similar to Unity (Not origins because shields on an assassin who is really an assassin wouldn't look so good.

It also could have the syndicate styled eagle vision, combined with range upgrading , similar to the origins-odyssey perception upgrade.

Old and new formula could work together.

    Posted: 12 Sep 2019 05:56 PM PDT

Imagine odyssey but instead of the "go here and get this for me" was replaced with tailing missions, hearing conversations, etc. Bounties could work this way too. Of course this means social stealth and hidden blade should return. Loot and customization could be there with no real problem (since Ubisoft wants to sell microtransactions) as well as current quests design.

Going back to roots for missions and gameplay while keeping modern stuff could work, instead of replacing everything balance should be the way to go. I think this could to please both old and new formula fans.

    What do you guys think?

Does anybody have any blank city maps from Assassin's Creed II?

    Posted: 12 Sep 2019 03:19 PM PDT

I really like the layout of AC2's cities and I want to use them as maps for a D&D campaign, but I can't find a blank version of any of the maps anywhere. I'm looking for something like this but without the watermark or the icons. Can anybody help me out?

    Assassin's Creed III Season Pass

    Posted: 13 Sep 2019 12:39 AM PDT

Unity possibly the best Assassin's Creed

    Posted: 12 Sep 2019 03:53 PM PDT

No doubt people are starting to realize that if you look past the glitches unity is truly the greatest Assassin's Creed game ever. I feel like Ubisoft should try to remaster it remake unity because if it had the right amount of time it would be amazing and even Ubisoft can't deny that it would make them a shit ton of money. And who knows the developers might even decide to use a fixed unity formula over the current heavy rpg grind fest mechanic that Ubisoft has adopted

(Odyssey PC) I’ve installed the DLC but nothing shows up in game

    Posted: 12 Sep 2019 11:37 PM PDT

So, i bought the season pass recently, decided to go through the dlc, I've long since beaten the game and most side quests (92% completion) but for whatever reason legacy of the first blade won't show up in my quest log, fate of Atlantis is there. But I wanna start with the first dlc.

I'm so confused and cannot think of what's wrong, at first I thought maybe it wasn't installed but it is.

    Identifying an action figure

    Posted: 12 Sep 2019 06:53 PM PDT

Hey guys, so I have this little problem, when I was little, I got this action figure of Ezio from AC2 and it is a really great one though I have lost some parts of it. So today I wanted to look it up and see for how much it is possible to get but I couldn't find it at all. All I could find are figures from some company called Neca, now they look similar but the one I have at home actually looks much better. It was being sold around 2010-2012.

    Anyone got any ideas?

Edit: Nevermind, just found it and its expensive as hell! It was the Play Arts Kai one

The Photo Mode website for Origins/Odyssey

    Posted: 12 Sep 2019 03:45 AM PDT

I really love the Photo Mode in both games and use it a lot, however I have found the way to retrieve your photos is really clunky. I play on Xbox and I find that the photos I take in-game do not appear on my captures list on the console or Xbox DVR. The only way I can retrieve the photos is to go to the Photo Mode website, however this in itself is really clunky:

    • I have to login every time I go to the site, even though my profile is set to stay logged in,
    • I have to switch the filters to "My Photos" and the platform to "Xbox" and then click "Search" every single time I go back to the site.
    • I cannot access my photos easily from an app (honestly would have expected this to be in the Ubisoft Club app)

So with this in mind I think some improvements to the whole Photo Mode system for the next game would be:

    1. Make the captures taken in this mode available through the PS/Xbox native screenshot areas, as well as the Ubisoft Photo Mode website.
    2. Integrate the photo mode functionality into the Ubisoft Club app for mobile devices, so that we can easily access our screenshots on mobile.
    3. Allow the Photo Mode website to be pre-set with the user's preferred filters and options. For example, I would set mine to always show my own photos, and platform to Xbox by default.
    4. In-game where you see community photos on the world map, I think it would be great to add the ability to comment on the photos, as well as the "heart" voting system, and potentially "follow" a particular user's photo steam if you like one of their screenshots.

    Odyssey Discovery Tour Controls?

    Posted: 12 Sep 2019 04:29 AM PDT

I can walk up to the tour guides, but how do I start the tour? There is nothing to press on the gamepad to get the tour started. I also can not walk away from the guide anymore. Just deadlock.

Same with the violet markers (the discovery sites?). I walk up to them, press Y on the gamepad and the camera moves in or out and that's it. I can not move anymore after that. How does this work? (on PC, with Xbox gamepad)

Trying To End Discussion (Atleast For Now) On Assassin’s Creed x Watch_Dogs

    Posted: 12 Sep 2019 01:47 PM PDT

Ok so this all is basically common knowledge at this point but I'll break it down to its bare bones. Olivier Garneau, CCO of Abstergo Entertainment leaves in AC 4 for a meeting in Chicago, apparently his body is never found and he never makes it to the meeting as stated in AC Rogue. Watch_Dogs takes place in Chicago, Aiden the main character sends a text to Olivier saying he shouldn't've come to Chicago and rest in peace, Aiden then beats him with a baton and leaves him in the street with his profile calling him the CEO of Abstergo Entertainment and stating that he's targeted by the brotherhood. AC Origins shows a picture of Olivier Garnea being shot by Aiden Pearce with a second picture showing a receipt stating that he had in fact been to Chicago and eaten at what is essentially a McDonald's there. | Now there are two ways to handle this from here, we can assume that the inconsistency is Ubisoft being lazy and forgetful or we can take the assumption that the newest information is the most factual and the previous information had been retconned. Either way here's what we know for sure. | Olivier Garnea was in high position at Abstergo Entertainment and was one the few people who worked their that were aware of the Templar shenanigans, it's never confirmed if he was a Templar or not but from I personally gathered he just wanted to make a game/movie based on Edward Kenway or just pirates in general but was being forced to do more work and to look for the observatory by the templars themselves or by one of the higher ups at Abstergo Industries. He was then killed by vigilante Aiden Pearce otherwise known as The Fox by crashing his car and getting shot with his CTOS profile stating clear as day that he's targeted by the brotherhood. After this his body was never found. | Now like most things in games this raises a few questions. Why was the brotherhood targeting Olivier Garneau? Why did Aiden Pearce kill Olivier? Is the brotherhood in kahoots with Pearce and possibly with DedSec? If not, why didn't the brotherhood send an assassin? Why did CTOS have information on the brotherhood? Wad this just a one off Easter egg? And lastly what happened to his body? I'm gonna try answer all these questions to end the subject matter.| Ok let's start off with why they, the brotherhood, targeted Garneau. My guess it's because he worked for Abstergo and knew about things such as the observatory and the secret war of assassins and Templar's. Essentially he knew too much and was further to the Templar side than to being a neutral. Secondly, why Aiden killed Olivier, now it could be that the assassins fed him information so that he could take Garneau but the more likely guess is that Aiden saw what he was up to and killed him. Thirdly is brotherhood working with Aiden and DedSec, very slim chance with both. Aiden whilst he does that weird focus ability it's probably just something to make the game easier. As for DedSec also very slim chance, yes whilst both groups are somewhat similar DedSec is a modern public hacking movement whilst the Assassins are an ancient secret order. Fourth question, how did the brotherhood get their kill stolen by a single man or let the man take the kill. Most likely they heard about the vigilante in the city and figured it would be better to leave Garneau to him, or Aiden makes his own luck. Fifth, how and why does CTOS have info on the assassins, probably because Blume and Abstergo are now somewhat partners and Abstergo was like 'here's some money, now can you search for some people, if the term assassin comes up just send police to kill them.' Sixth, is this a one off Easter egg, probably at first but then it got too deep until was cemented into the lore. Having the meeting being in Chicago out of everywhere in the world is very specific and it was probably a cute nod, then they had the email in AC 4 which was more a slight chuckle, then they had actual Abstergo employees in watch_dogs, people playing assassins creed games (by Abstergo) and actually seeing and killing Olivier that was nervous laughing and then they did the AC Email which basically was scared whimpering (bear in mind this email was alongside the AC movie reference which is also canon apparently). The only way they could just completely cement it would be with watch_dogs legion, with some nod to the Rooks, the assassin granny and something that would hopefully still be there that being Edward Kenway's mansion. And finally what happened to his possibly still alive most likely dead body, most likely taken by the assassins to despose of or to interrogate. | And that's it, now none of these are solid facts, these are just likely assumptions. Because that's all it's just an assumption, a guess, a hypothesis, a theory, A GAME THEORY, THANKS FOR WATCHING.

    Weapon stats in New Game+

    Posted: 12 Sep 2019 07:50 AM PDT

Go easy on me, I'm a clumsy player mainly playing because I'm a classicist. So I need all the help I can get!

I watched a JordanDoes video about an invincible melee build that requires a Spartan spear obtained during the Thaletas questline on Delos.

Realised I'd sold/dismantled it, resolved to grab it in NG+.

Just got it, but the stats have changed, is this normal?

For reference, originally +24%assassin damage, +30% damage with spears, +30% melee resistance and +50% CRITdamage.

NG+, same spear now 16% assassin, 18%spear damage, 18% melle resistance and no CRIT damage.

Did I do something wrong or is this just what weapons donin NG+?

So annoyed at Ubisoft for not marking itnlegendary...

Is it possible for two people to use the same uPlay account at once?

    Posted: 12 Sep 2019 06:52 AM PDT

I got the free copy of ACU earlier this year and was wondering if I could login to my account on my brother's PC so we could play co-op with each other. Does the game sava data locally or is it all on the cloud? And - while I haven't found this myself I could just have overlooked it - if I can't log into two places at once, is there a way to create a sub-account with access to ACU that I use on his machine instead?

Thanks and apologies for the partly off-topic topic, but r/Ubisoft is dead and I didn't know where else to go. Thanks again!
