Why is the quality and realism of the assassin’s creed trailers so good.

    Posted: 11 Aug 2021 08:27 PM PDT

I was just wondering as even an old game such as AC revelations had a very realistic trailer that made me think whether is was a real person acting of all computer generated.

Edit: I was usually comparing it to the game, but some trailers seemed unusually realistic

It Feels Like Assassin's Creed Again. [SPOILERS] Ahead

    Posted: 11 Aug 2021 01:31 PM PDT

The reaper armor, the missions formatting, The Bureau. Oh gods above and before us, The Bureau! The letter stating the Hidden Ones are active and that Eivor is an 'honorary member' to be confirmed? Amazing. I am in love with this DLC. I feel like I'm playing Assassin's Creed. I cried for an hour to my significant other about it. Thank you Ubisoft. I love these games, and it felt nice to be heard.

Finally played Rogue and I loved it, what did everyone else think of it?

    Posted: 11 Aug 2021 01:25 AM PDT

So I had played and beaten every AC game except for Rogue, Valhalla and I am like 80% through odyssey. Valhalla i am waiting until I finish odyssey before I get going on it and rogue I never really even knew that much about other than It being the one that released for older consoles when unity came out for the new ones at the time and had heard mostly negative things but then the remaster went on sale and I said screw it, I've played all the others and I gave it a shot and damn I'm glad I did.

The game was fantastic, shay is easily my favorite assassin and his story is my favorite out of what we have seen so far for the others and it was really cool to see things from both sides and see how the assassins can be wrong and how someone could join the Templars and tied in nice to 3, 4 and unity.

Aside from like comics and stuff it's a shame we probably won't see anything more for shay, I would love another ac game where we played as a Templar.

[SPOILER] I'm about five hours into the Siege of Paris and I discovered a little mystery.

    Posted: 12 Aug 2021 12:11 AM PDT

(WARNING: The following post will contain some spoilers. Just wanted to reiterate this before I continue.)

I'm about five hours into the Siege of Paris when I came across a Bureau by sheer chance. Thought that was pretty interesting so I ran through it and was expecting a new armor set or weapon but I was surprised to find a...key?

Once I picked it up, I was prompted with a new quest called the Hidden Ones. It directs you to find the a total of three keys throughout the map. The runs through these Bureaus isn't difficult and very quick--just watch out for the rats.

Once you've acquired all of these keys, the final quest step is to head to the Bureau in Paris and explore it. At the end of the quest you acquire The legendary sword of Charlamagne, Joyeuse. Fun little detail, when you are holding the sword, you can see what I assume is the blood of Christ.

    But that isn't the mystery...

As you leave the Bureau, Eivor hears soft foot-steps where you then find a letter. It reads as follows:

"This place of honor forever holding, the deeds that were done

We abide always many in number, yet together are one Whose firm faith and whose lonely labor, serve only the fight

I must yet stay unknown in the darkness, so you may work in the light."

Forgive the dead soldiers. They would not leave peacefully."

    -AC

Once you receive the letter the quest ends, that's it. Though I'm hoping the person who left this letter makes an appearance in-game at some point and we and we can figure out who this is, the question remains:

Who is AC? Has he been following us the whole time? And more importantly, will we see Eivor accept becoming a Hidden One?

The Kalydonian Boar on Nightmare was just HELL.

    Posted: 11 Aug 2021 09:04 PM PDT

Hey, i am not afraid to admit that after 50 deaths at level 30 i literally dropped difficulty to easy just to cheese this excuse of a boss design. I have fought all other beasts and played the entire game so far on Nightmare without any serious issue (Except 3 mercs and 5+ elites ganking ofc) and only changed diffuculty once because of ganking baby boars, i could perfectly beat the boar if it didnt call endless babies with it every single time one of them dies, sometimes you can kill all of them except one and it stops calling the baby boars unless you kill the last one, sometimes you kill one and it just multiplies the amount of boars by 2.

Really who the fuck was the responsible of the design of this, and as "Tutorial legendary animal". The lion was "okey", the deer was very good actually, the rest were decent, the boar, fuck that boar.

It does not help its health is buffed to be higher than a bullet sponge, and the damage it does is 2 hits=death, no matter the level or item level you have.

I am a pure warrior build, i played soulsbornekiro (All dark souls, bloodborne and sekiro), and never raged so hard as i raged with this goddamn boar lol. The closest was Isshin from Sekiro and demon of hatred, but the boar wins both of this and just shits on them lol.

Bloodborne told me how to fight beasts, this game animals fights are similar to beasts fights on bloodborne, EXCEPT, YOU CANT PARRY THEM HAHA.

I already know about paralyzing arrows to not kill the small boars and prevent it from calling more of them, but i just refuse putting any single point on the other skills except 3 of them for assassin and 1 for hunter.

    Critic Reviews

    Bazimag - Sina Golabzade - Persian - 6.5 / 10

There was a lot of potential to make The Siege of Paris the most epic chapter in Eivor's journey but sadly there isn't enough meat here to chew on and the whole adventure ends on a kind of an unsatisfying climax.

Console Creatures - Luke Williams - Recommended

The Siege of Paris is some of Assassin's Creed's best storytelling and gameplay in the series' current generation. With greater attention to telling a story that isn't as large and complex as the main game, The Siege of Paris is a DLC that won't be the longest experience you've played, but it'll be one of your favourites.

    Digital Trends - Otto Kratky - 2 / 5 stars

Assassin's Creed Valhalla's Siege of Paris DLC is the same game, different setting -- nothing new to see here.

    Gamers Heroes - Blaine Smith - 80 / 100

Assassin's Creed Valhalla: The Siege of Paris is very much a creature of habit, offering more of what we've seen before and doing very little to break away from its tried and tested roots. Whether that's good or bad is entirely up to you. If you've loved the path so far, you're sure to love Eivor's latest adventure; just watch out for those bloody rats.

    GamingTrend - David Flynn - 95 / 100

The Siege of Paris is a very enjoyable step up from Wrath of the Druids and leaves you wanting more, in a good way. If this is indeed the final big expansion for Valhalla, it's a high note to end on. While I'm not a fan of the infinite content machines the developers seem intent on shoving into every game, the story content is excellent, Paris and the surrounding countryside are gorgeous, and the new gameplay additions mix things up enough to feel worthy of a paid DLC.

    God is a Geek - Chris White - 8 / 10

Assassin's Creed Valhalla: The Siege of Paris is an excellent expansion, offering some new mechanics and a magnificent story.

    Hardcore Gamer - Chris Shive - 4 / 5

Assassins Creed Valhalla: The Siege of Paris is an enjoyable expansion to an already massive game.

    Hobby Consolas - Daniel Quesada - Spanish - 70 / 100

It lacks relevant new features in the gameplay department, but the story and the new characters are engaging.

    PCGamesN - Ian Boudreau - 8 / 10

The return of classic Assassin's Creed infiltration missions makes this DLC a worthwhile trip for long-time fans and recent devotees alike, although not all of its new ideas work quite so well.

    Push Square - Robert Ramsey - 8 / 10

Assassin's Creed Valhalla: The Siege of Paris is another great expansion that fans of the base game won't want to miss. However, unlike Wrath of the Druids, the second DLC's strength is rooted in its adaptation of the old Assassin's Creed formula. Black box assassination missions are the stars of the show, where stealth and deception are brought back into fashion. What's more, the story's darker tone makes for some memorable moments.

    Wccftech - 6.3 / 10

With a story that fails to go beyond serviceable and some not particularly inspired characters, Assassin's Creed Valhalla: The Siege of Paris fails to reach the heights of the Wrath of the Druid expansion, basically offering more of the same in a somewhat uninteresting setting. The Infiltration Missions, a nice callback to earlier entries in the series, are not enough to salvage an experience that only the most die-hard Assassin's Creed Valhalla fans will thoroughly enjoy.

    Windows Central - Jennifer Locke - 3.5 / 5 stars

The Siege of Paris takes us to a brand-new location and brings back the wonderful black box assassination missions from Unity, but mostly fails to provide a compelling narrative to back that up. Like Wrath of the Druids before it, a few new gameplay mechanics don't prevent The Siege of Paris from being more of the same.

    Worth Playing - Andreas Salmen - 7.1 / 10

The Siege of Paris DLC for Assassin's Creed Valhalla is less bloated, and that is a positive. It still recycles most of what it did previously, so this expansion does little to get you onboard if you're already burned out on it. As an expansion of Valhalla, The Siege of Paris seriously trims the fat and provides one of the better story arcs we've seen for this entry. The welcome reintroduction of black box missions provides a diversion from the regular grind that is so prevalent in its other content. It's a step in the right direction.

    XGN.nl - Ralph Beentjes - Dutch - 8.5 / 10

With The Siege of Paris Ubisoft delivers another excellent expansion for Assassin's Creed Valhalla. The main story line is diverse and much more than just a siege, Paris and the surrounding areas are beautifully crafted and rats are an interessant new mechanic - altough not always executed that well.

Just finished the pacifying England [Spoiler]

    Posted: 11 Aug 2021 12:39 PM PDT

Firstly let me say, I enjoyed the game and had a blast playing it ( over 80hrs of it); I really liked the style of the game and collecting allies and completing mini story arcs. It was like a season of a tv show; but imo the final battle was lackluster and a bit disappointing. I thought the last battle against Alfred would be an epic battle like something out of LOTR where all the allies you made would bring their men to the battle and it would be two massive armies against each other for the future of England. Any one else disappointed by it ? Just wanted to know other people's opinions on it.

I remember also being disappointed with final battle as well.

Why did Assassin's creed abandoned AC:IV Block styled UI for future installments

    Posted: 11 Aug 2021 12:12 PM PDT

[This post is purely for discussion and exchanging ideas and thoughts]

UI for this post purely corresponds to the Main menu screen and it's related screens.

I've been a fan of series since beginning, and saw its UI evolution first hand, with very basic UI of AC1, to Brotherhood's creative DNA strands UI, to Valhalla's standard UI.

One UI that stood out for me among all these was Black Flag's, It was block-styled masonry grid interface.

Each element in grid was acting as a card which showcases all the relevant information in one go. And UI looks pretty amazing in wider screens.

It relies heavily on the visual elements to showcase the progression.

And from scalability perspective, Masonry grid was a good choice as it allows cards to be resized accordingly without making it unbearable for user to work with.

After black flag, Game UI took a sharp turn and focuse heavily on list - style structure we are now familiar with.

My question for discussion is: What was the issues in Black Flag interface that it couldn't served the future interfaces of the series, and what can be done to make it better, and Is the current Interface of AC game (since Unity) - the list structure, the actual best way forward to serve this series for future installments.

Will Valhalla's seasonal events, such as the Sigrblot Festival, still be accessible in the future, after Ubisoft stops supporting the game?

    Posted: 11 Aug 2021 10:41 AM PDT

As I've mentioned in my previous posts, I haven't been able to play any of the titles following Rogue, since I only have a shitty laptop. That being said, I do plan to play the rest of the series, as well as a lot of other games, once I finally get my hands on a good enough PC.

Here's my question: knowing the nature of Valhalla's different..."seasons", I suppose(I call them that because that's what they're officially named; I don't know what the technical term for these missions is)...will I be able to play them in the future, once support for Valhalla ends?

For example, suppose I buy Valhalla five years from now. Would I still be able to participate in the Sigrblot Festival, the River Raids, and the Mastery Challenges which came with the...Ostrava season, I think it was called?

What do you people think? Will the seasons still be accessible to future players, should they buy the game after support for it has ended?

Can anyone confirm if the NPCs speak Frankish?

    Posted: 11 Aug 2021 06:13 PM PDT

Hey all, I just started playing the Siege of Paris and have been enjoying it so far. One point of contention for me has been whenever I hear the NPCs speak to each other they seem to be speaking Norse. I don't know if this is just my untrained ear or a huge oversight by Ubisoft. I'm a huge stickler to this type of detail and having this be a possible blunder really breaks immersion.

    Posted: 11 Aug 2021 11:47 PM PDT

I had fabric at some point while playing to upgrade my gear, but now all of a sudden I'm getting 0 fabric. I've completed the main story, killer all order members, and completed every wealth, mystery, and artifact in the game except for that one bullshit altar requiring fabric. I'm sure this has been asked before as I researched all over Reddit and google of where the fabric went but can't get an answer.

Is it locked by story progression? Will someone let me know? Thanks! (I'm exploring and collecting everything before doing the story)
