Music and Environment are Ubisoft strong points. In all AC Games.

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 10:16 AM PDT

Every AC game all of us have played, we all remember specific parts. Almost all of them include powerfully charged moments that are made a million times better because of the environmental setting and music. These are something Ubisoft always deliver beautifully.

I just wanted this to be said because they're not appreciated enough for this. Yeah, almost all games have some problems. But they need positivity too, from us! AC soundtrack videos are not really that popular in YT, which they need to be.

So here you go Ubi, thanks for making these games, with their unforgettable soundtracks and environment. Hope you make more masterpieces for us to enjoy!

I am just really excited about AC Valhalla

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 12:02 PM PDT

Having skipped out on all of last gen, I am excited to get back into AC like never before. Despite some of the early criticism, I am really looking forward to seeing how AC has grown and changed.

Edit: I hope they keep the Animus sections short. I have never ever liked them.

My favorite AC game is 3 And I love Connor

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 12:17 PM PDT

So...my favorite assassins creed game is 3 I love the story and the characters and Connor is just awesome for me. Plus the game is tons of fun just running around with connors hidden blades and stabbing people and even hanging them with the rope darts. I kind of wish Connor got a sequel game tbh,

TIL Every street in Unity's Paris has a name

TIL Every street in Unity's Paris has a name

It's not strictly a TIL (I actually realised this a few days ago), but it fits the profile of being something I only recently learned about this game that I have played multiple times over across the past 6 years. I was exploring, and then I noticed a small blue square on the side of a building that I had never seen before. I walked closer to it, and text appeared on it. I then fast-travelled to Ile Saint-Louis and checked every building on the island, and sure enough, at the corner of every street was a similar blue square with a street name on it.

I then proceeded to write down every unique name on these plaques that I came across on Ile De La Cité. I counted 27 unique streets, 7 on Ile Saint-Louis. I want to make a complete street map of the city, but I can't find a hi-def, completely clean version of the map, so I'm having to work around the various icons and region partitions and the bloom. I've produced a street map of Ile De La Cité below, at least.

It's a super cool feature - I wish the game used it more. In the murder mysteries, whenever you find a clue that gives you a new clue location, it gives a street name and house number. In combination with a complete street map like the one I've done, it could have been a really cool thing of having to cross-reference with the map to find the location. Instead, though, it gives you an in-world waypoint that you can't get rid of even by setting the HUD to "Hidden".

I think I'll post again if/when I manage to finish this project. At the time of writing, I've got the complete street names of the two islands, and the Tuileries and Vendome districts of Le Louvre.

The Future of the Modern Story

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 07:08 PM PDT

can someone please explain where we went wrong with the modern day. It's becomes so trash that I couldn't even believe it. I was reading up on the lore and wow... what happened?? I remember being so fascinated by the modern story and how the actual past connected with the future, especially from AC1 - AC3. Black flag was mostly stale but it left off on a high/suspenseful note so that got me really intrigued as to what was to come. Then after that... huh?? It used to be so interesting and so nicely woven into the actual assassin gameplay. It really felt like we were progressing. Now idk whats going on and why the characters are so stale. I'm not gonna lie though, Kassandra coming out of hiding from Atlantis was pretty cool, but it still landed kinda flat. I really hope they get their act together for the modern story cuz it's bad... really bad.

tldr: Modern story in assassins creed is so bad when it used to be my fav thing

What secret locations are we gonna see in AC Valhalla (hinted from Darby)

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 02:21 PM PDT

I think it could be some missions maybe in paris/constantinopel and kyiw, because the vikings did plunder these towns once. It could be also that Eivor visits the middle east (maybe even masyaf) at the end, so the connection between ac valhalla and ac 1 happens.

could also be some nordics realms, but i hope its something more grounded.

In Assassin's Creed Origins...I'm stuck at Level 25 and I want to level up using Side Quests but I can't find any on the map. Did I run out of side quests? How else am I supposed to level up to reach level 28 for my next main mission.

    Posted: 05 Oct 2020 12:11 AM PDT

I leveled up from 23 to 25 by doing side missions. Now I'm at level 25 and I still need to level to 28 or at least 27 to complete the next main mission but I seem to have run out of Side Missions/Quests (the diamond with an exclamation mark). None of them are showing on the map anymore. Am I doing something wrong. If not, how I supposed to level up tp 27/28? only by doing side stuff like papyrus paper and exploring new locations? I'm pretty confused as to how all this works. I never ran out of side missions before.

Unity’s final boss fight has to be the easiest one in the series

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 03:37 PM PDT

The boss fight consisted of running upstairs, jumping on the platforms until you were above him, and pressing x(or whatever the equivalent is on your platform). Then watch the cutscene and prepare to do the same thing two more times. I thought it would be a lot harder than that considering that he was wielding the sword of eden. Personally attempting to fight 5 enemies at once was way harder than that boss fight.

Oh, i think i get why Syndicate and Odyssey are "repeat" games

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 09:03 AM PDT

Syndicate felt like an expansion of Unity and Odyssey felt like an expansion of Origins. Overly similar animations, systems, mechanics, etc to their predecessor.

Yeah, so turns out Ubisoft Quebec who did Syndicate and Odyssey is made of 521 people.

Compared to that, Ubisoft Montreal who did Unity and Origins is made of 3500+ people.

It kinda all comes together now: they're wayyyyy less big projects than the other ones. No wonder Evie has so many of Arno's animations.

Not sure how I feel about this, I think I'm happy Ubisoft Quebec is doing something else, smaller in scope, rather than doing an informal expansion every time that feels way too similar.

What is the current modern day plot?

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 04:52 AM PDT

So, I stopped completing the AC games shortly after AC4 was released (AC3 was the last game I properly finished the main story + any DLC). No real reason, mostly life got really busy, my interests moved on, etc. I still own all the games and tried all of them but being an adult with ADHD sucks, and my interest would wane or I would get busy with other things.

I still kept an eye on the lore and side watched a few lets' plays, but I'm out of the loop with a few things.

I'm currently replaying the whole series while I have some time, and am about... half way through AC3.

I know the Juno storyline was resolved more or less off screen (which is a cop out by the way, but whatever), but what is the current modern day story about? Is it just templars vs assassins? Fighting each other for the pieces of Eden? Is there any threat of any Isu possibly coming back?

Spoil whatever you want, I don't really care about that sort of thing, just kind of want an explanation.

What’s the deal with The Legend of Beowulf? Exclusive to Ultimate Edition or part of the Season Pass DLC?

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 02:50 PM PDT

    Question about Valhalla Editions

Can anyone provide some clarification about what comes with the different editions, specifically what the deal is with The Legend of Beowulf?

The PS Store says the Gold Edition comes with the Season Pass and the Legend of the Berserker mission, and that the Ultimate Edition comes with Gold items plus The Legend of Beowulf and the Ultimate Pack (cosmetics and XPish items).

The Ubisoft webpage makes no mention of The Legend of Beowulf, and says both Gold and Ultimate include a bonus mission at launch (mission is singular under both editions).

All of the articles I can find about The Legend of Beowulf say that it will be a DLC mission and part of the season pass, but these all appear to be rumor type articles and are from this past Spring.

It's a $20 difference between the Gold and Ultimate and since I'm kinda anal about playing through all of the content, I'd easily pay that if Ultimate is the only way to get The Legend of the Beowulf Mission; however, if it's going to be part of the season pass at some point I don't need to shell out another $20 on top of the $100 Gold Edition just for content that I probably wouldn't even get to until the general release (I could take or leave the cosmetic stuff and probably wouldn't even use the XP/progress boost items as I like to play through at the normal pace).

[Odyssey DLC spoiler] Does adamantine respawn?

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 08:16 PM PDT

I'm missing one more ingot to craft the last weapon at the Hephaestus forge in Atlantis and I've completed every isu location on the map. There is also a smith next to the Oikos of the Olympians who wants adamantine to repair Amorges's sword but I don't have enough for him.

Why does everyone seem to hate Kassandras super abilities ?

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 04:20 PM PDT

We've always known the Isu are pretty much "gods" and have incredibly powerful weapons and technology and I think the general fanbase accepts and likes that. So why is it that everyone seems to hate that Kassandra has all these super human abilities ? I mean she doesn't naturally have them the spear gives her the power, and because she has a high concentration of Isu DNA (shes pretty much a demi god) she can activate a large chuck of the spears power even when it's broken. I think it makes sense lore wise and is pretry sick. So why is it the fanbase seems to hate it?

Just finished ac 2 and started brother hood

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 11:48 PM PDT

I have to say the brother hood combat is leagues better than the shit is 2. I enjoyed 2 def not my favourite game in the series but enjoyable , though the combat absolutely sucked it was so clunky and drawn out that is most likely due to age.

I think it was Connor that made Axes cool for me.

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 06:28 AM PDT

    Or more specifically, Tomahawks.

Before, whenever I played Video Games, I usually ignore Axes. They're the tools of those who brute force their way through situations. They don't have the elegance or speed of a sword, the range of a bow or gun, or even the concealability of a Knife or Dagger.

If I were playing Skyrim or Oblivion, I'd usually just use Swords and Greatswords for the former, and Ditch the Blunt skill entirely once I mastered the skill in the latter.

Final Fantasy VII had no Axe users, to my delight. A Sword, a Machine Gun, Bare Fists, A Microphone, a Staff, A Rifle, a Spear, a Large Shuriken, and headdresses. But no Axes.

Then in comes this Assassin who wields a tomahawk in a fashion that doesn't imply brute force. Just speed and skill. For once, this unique form of Axe fighting caught my attention, and even entertained me enough.

    Thanks, Connor.

How do you think Valhalla map is divided?

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 07:25 AM PDT

I want both England and Norway is connected in one map and we can do longboat voyage with other Viking boats back and forth and there we can do some naval activities like fishing, whale harpooning, diving into the seas to explore ruins etc. I don't want map to be divided especially like Rogue. I know North sea is quite empty and not much do there but still that is good to see to open map.

Somehow I made it to sequence 13 on the first sword??

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 06:07 PM PDT

I don't have a picture or anything, but i recently started playing Assassin's Creed II for the first time in 2 years. I am currently on what I assume to be the last sequence, where you're killing all the lieutenants. Bear in mind, it's been so long since i've played this game, i don't remember the plot, i don't remember anything, i don't know the fighting mechanics, or anything. i honestly don't even remember playing it all that much, but i somehow made it to sequence 13. got the trophies and everything. so weird.

the weirdest part is, i was fighting someone and i was barely doing any damage. so i'm like "wtf is wrong with this game why aren't i doing any damage." so i check my inventory, and i'm wielding the Common Sword. In sequence 13. I don't own any other swords. I haven't played this game in 2 years. What's wrong with me
