I would really enjoy it if in AC:Valhalla you could design your own shields that your raiding party and clan carries.

    Posted: 24 May 2020 06:26 AM PDT

It would be a small but cool detail to the game.

Thoughts on a Kill to Carry option in Valhalla?

    Posted: 24 May 2020 03:32 PM PDT

As in you assassinate and if you, let's say, continue to hold the button you immediately begin to carry the body. I always try to hide the bodies I create and stay as stealthy as possible but so many times the enemy is just too far from the bush or I'm trying to kill and hide during a small window and precious seconds are used waiting for the body to fall to the ground and for the carry prompt to show up. Please just let me stab someone through the throat and let them fall onto my back so I can hide the evidence quickly PLEASE!

One of my favorite things about Brotherhood is that there was never any question that Cesare was our nemesis.

    Posted: 24 May 2020 05:42 PM PDT

I've noticed in the vast majority of AC games, the true final boss has always been kinda obscured until the last third. You may not hear about him until a few hours in. (A notable exception being Black Flag, but even then Roberts was more of a final boss than Torres.) Not in Brotherhood, from start to finish we knew we were gunning for the Borgia, specifically the wonder boy himself. Ezio and Cesare are very similar also. Similar builds, same hair, both speak with a gravy thick accent and have a vast network of contacts and helpers.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzNs4-kRLaE

A good thing to be noted in this trailer is that Cesare is portrayed as our equal. Not just another target who craps his pants and starts running from Italian Batman. Just really good stuff if you ask me, I really wish they'd do that more often.

Should AC bring back being part of the brotherhood?

    Posted: 24 May 2020 09:03 PM PDT

So I'm sure everyone does this where they think about what makes certain games their favourites and what they miss and I could explain so many things but I feel beinging back the brotherhood and being part of something larger than yourself would be incredible.

But looking back, the thing I miss most is being a part of something. In particular the brotherhood. It felt so good being a part of a brotherhood, seeing others in the cause with you outnumbered heavily against another organisation in the templars. Needing to use each other and strategy with stealth to undermine the 'evil' templars.

Specifically to brotherhood and revelations where we got to rebuild the order, it just felt great to not be alone. You were still connected with other assassin's and had a purpose other than simply revenge that happens to evolve templars.

For Valhalla I'd love to see us be able to obviously become an assassin but also recruit our companion Vikings into the brotherhood. It's a great step to already know we're can have a group of Vikings but having them as assassin's as well would really go a long way to the game feeling less of warrior and more of an assassin, a brotherhood

Would people be up for smaller, contained Assassin's Creed stories?

    Posted: 24 May 2020 10:56 AM PDT

I've been re-playing Liberation and after the 100+ hour playthrough I had on odyssey, it's kinda nice to have a shorter story in a lesser known historical setting. Just kinda struck me as it would be really cool if we got some smaller games in between the massive worlds we've gotten of late. Don't get me wrong, I'm stoked for Valhalla, just find the smaller maps and settings fun to play in a different way.

The raiders in valhalla need to be good at fighting.

    Posted: 24 May 2020 06:41 AM PDT

Throughout the series, imo the assassins or companions you've had alongside you havent really been able to help u much as u are tasked with killing the majority of enemies as they swing here and there. Sure in some games u could call them to assassinate a target but they didnt really do much in a legitimate fight. I really want the raiding party in this next game to actually be able to kill stuff, instead of me just cleaving everybody while they walk around and idk, yell their enemies to death? Really I just want good A.I. and even though I really like the idea of a raiding party, they need to have a gameplay use that isnt just for romance or dialogue options.

(Spoiler) The staff of Hermes screwed up the entire AC Lore

    Posted: 24 May 2020 10:59 AM PDT

By thinking more about the Staff of Hermes what made the Eagle Bearer immortal and let him live 2000 years, it really felt like that it totally destroyed the story of AC.

Pythagoras showed the Eagle Bearer in the Cult Ending with the pyramid the entire future. So we have a demigod what is immortal, have godlike powers and know everything what will happen in the next thousand years. For what did we need the past protagonists of the last 10 games again? Every Storyline or event could have been solved by the eagle bearer and also his task to bring balance to the world is terrible and failed because the last games showed us this was never the case in the world. Also his ending his so screwed up, he talk to Layla 3 minutes and give her the stuff and die. All the wisdom or experience he could have teach hear got thrown away by lazy storytelling.

This really screwed up the Lore for me, but what are your opinions about this storyline?

Why are people so upset that Connor wears Edward's robes?

    Posted: 24 May 2020 04:20 PM PDT

I know the robes look extremely different, but if the canon is that the robes, at least the undershirt, was originally Edward's, and are now Connor's, why are people so fervently against this?

    1) "It doesn't make any sense." What part of it doesn't make sense? Edward could've easily handed the robes off to Adewale, Rhona, or Ah Tabai, all of whom personally knew Achilles and could for one reason or another hand him the robes of a deceased Master Assassin for preservation.

    2) "It looks too different" Tailoring exists. They look similar enough, and the outer robes are very clearly Achilles' old ones.

I get that AC fans are nitpicky, but Ubisoft is always dropping unfinished information and it's up to us to piece the in betweens together. We already know Connor knew about Edward and even spoke of him in the DLC, so why is it so difficult to believe Achilles would have given him the obviously tailored because it's 60+ years old robes of Connor's grandfather, a respected Master Assassin?

I honestly enjoy the newest games the most.

    Posted: 24 May 2020 03:58 AM PDT

Origins and Odyssey, in my opinion, are the 2 strongest entries in this franchise. A few years ago when I played AC2 and Black Flag, I fell in love with this franchise, and to be completely honest, Origins and Odyssey were easily the most fun I had with any AC games.

The lore of the Templars, Assassins and the Isu, paired with the incredibly accurate historical representations of the ancient ages are just breathtaking. The stealth and combat are infinitely more enjoyable to me, since you really have to make an effort not to be seen and can't just hide next to 2 people until you're anonymous again.

In my opinion, they updated and added to the mechanics in all the right ways. They got rid of the clunky controls and easy combat, gave us more grounded stories and actually likable characters.

I know they have plenty of flaws, but imo none of them are as severe as in the "classic" games. I am really excited for where they take the series in the next entry.

I'm just tied of Ubi filling games up with empty space.

    Posted: 24 May 2020 03:03 PM PDT

When playing odyssey, I felt that I spent more time traveling from point A to point B rather than playing. And the travel wasn't fun. It was the same copy paste of forest or town or mountain, and that just sucked. Even in that screenshot of Valhalla that Ubi released, with the fort and forest in the background, was mostly empty. I hope that they try to make the games more like Breath of the Wild, in which it is fun to explore, or more like Red Dead, where the horse travel was beautiful.

How do Connor and Haytham know each other?

    Posted: 24 May 2020 09:52 AM PDT

I should say there are minor spoilers for AC3 ahead, ye be warned.

Hello, long time player first time poster (here at least). So I've been replaying AC3 recently because Netflix put The Patriot back up and I watched it and, well one thing lead to another. Anyway, I just replayed the mission while Washington and the army are hole up in Valley Forge and you end up working with Haytham for the first time. When they first meet both of them acknowledge one another like they know each other...which bugs me because I'm pretty sure that never happened. Its understandable Connor knows who Haytham is from his training as well as it seems like his mother told him Haytham was his father...what bugs me is that Haytham knows who Connor is. I am pretty sure Zio said she didnt tell Haytham they had a son, and at no point in the game have they met before or had that whole "you my daddy" conversation.

Is there something I missed in the game, like a Database entry or something, or perhaps there is something that happens in the books that covers up the otherwise glaring plot hole? Thanks for listening. </rant>

Made a video of the odyssey intro but in the style of the movie 300

    Posted: 24 May 2020 10:33 PM PDT

There is something about AC Odyssey that makes it boring if you play it a lot for a while and I can’t put my finger on what is it

    Posted: 24 May 2020 02:24 PM PDT

And before anyone says it, no it's not because I played the game a lot that makes it boring. When I played GTAV or RDR2 for the first time it was so good and addictive that I played it everyday until I beat the main story plus side quests. But Odyssey is different and I don't know what is it about the game that makes the difference.

So I've bought odyssey some time ago while it was on sale and completed about 75% of the story. Then for some reason I found the game really boring and stopped playing. I don't know how, but there is something in the game that makes it boring if you play it a lot for a while, or maybe it's just me lol.

However I recently got the urge to play Odyssey again so I started playing it again, finished the story and decided to explore the map and play side quests. I'm about 85 hours in but lost the passion for the game again.

But I didn't delete it from my PS4 just yet, as I suspect I may come back to it sometime later in the future.

So what do you think it is about Odyssey that makes it boring after a while? It's not a bad game but idk..

Social stealth makes a comeback in Valhalla

    Posted: 24 May 2020 04:34 AM PDT

It's been some time since Ashraf and his team confirmed that the hidden blade insta-kills would make a return in Valhalla. Afaik they confirmed the return of social stealth back into the series as well in the same interview and I'm really excited for it. Personally that particular take on stealth gameplay was always something that separated the franchise from other stealth games I love Iike MGS, Splinter Cell or Hitman (although Hitman's gameplay definitely consists of social as well as traditional stealth aspects).

Now I haven't really seen anything about this in this subreddit, so I apologise upfront if the topic already exists, but I thought it would be fun to talk about how they could implement social stealth in a 9th century setting. Playing dead definitely is one aspect I can see being easily implemented, but how about other aspects? England obviously didn't have a dense population or thriving cities at the time.

Any ideas how they could successfully implement social stealth into the setting?

Assassin's Creed Valhalla - What features do you want in the game?

    Posted: 24 May 2020 12:06 PM PDT

So i know some features have already been revealed, but besides that, what featurs would you like to see?

I personally would love to see a fort minigame, where you can conquer forts, then have to defend them (like shadow of war)

Also some stories being told while navigating with our ship would be great. Like mimir from god of war

Finally i want to see a skill tree similar to skyrim. Where the longer you use a weapon class, the better you become at it and can unlock new skills. This will not only reward players that like to explore and play alot, but also remove the xp grinding.

Don't forget to tell me, what you would like to see
