Replaying the older games there’s a few gameplay mechanics I would love to see back.

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 12:31 PM PST

First is the ability to own property I would love to be able to rely on a steady income while questing in the new games, maybe even add new ways to upgrade your buildings/stores.

I would also love for the return of the hook blade or something like it. It's probably one of the most useful tools in the earlier AC games loved the ability to climb faster and jump over people you were running from.

Also some sort of companion system, like the brotherhood assassins would be pretty dope. Especially if the new game will be set in the Viking era would be really cool to have Viking raiders you can call on when you need help.

Matter of fact I would just generally love the return of being able to hire people to help you like the thieves, courtesans or fighters like in the Ezio games.

Those are generally some things I would love to make a return and personally think will draw the gap between pre origins and post origins a little closer at least in the gameplay.

I think assassin's creed syndicate is the last true assassin's creed game.

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 07:14 AM PST

I feel like since that game, assassin's creed was never the same. And I'm scared it will never be the same... The whole movement mechanics and enemies changed since syndicate and it's kinda sad because it is nostalgic, and there was something special about it. Now it's just a giant map with a different enemy/level system that I don't think it's a bad system but, it doesn't suit assassin's creed.

    Does someone relate?

My digital fanart of Ezio :D

My main issue with Odyssey: I felt like cold blooded murderer playing this game.

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 10:41 AM PST

    And I didn't like it.

The huge game + the lack of clear purpose for the character made me feel like a killing machine. Cultist after cultist, without any character or depth. I felt like an assassin, but not the Assassins' Creed way. The locust swarm of misthioses didn't help either, you were encouraged to find and hunt them all.

Either I absolutely sucked at stealth in this game, or the stealth mechanics were a bit broken - I almost always ended up clearing the camps of all enemies.

Yep, this is meant to be "choose-ya-fate" RPG, but besides sparing a few characters' life this didn't change the structure of the game.

Did anyone have a similar experience?

Are the West Point missions missable? - AC3

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 10:28 PM PST

I'm talking about the ones that are similar to the Hunting Society, Frontiersmen "objectives", not actually missions. Do I have to do them in West Point or are they there until I complete them like the Hunting or Frontiermen ones? Also, I'm guessing I need to do them to platinum the game right?

I know that it is rumored that the next AC game will be during the Viking Age. And I think if it does happen they should bring the Throwing Axe.

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 09:49 AM PST

Think about it almost all the games show new weapons that either are in one game or multiple ones. Like the bow and arrow was introduced in AC3 and it was used in the newer games like Origins and Odyssey. And since Vikings were known as really good axe fighters and for a Throwable weapon Throwing Axe should be in the game.

Assassin's Creed: Gold Reveals First Clip (Exclusive)

What are the limitations of the Animus?

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 07:37 PM PST

So... I've been in a discussion online about AC. He basically used the AC1 crossbow image and quote from the devs saying that they removed it because of historical accuracy, to bash Odyssey and Origins and that left me thinking...

Are the present day characters actually interacting actively and controlling the ancestor? If that's the case what are the limits of their interaction? I know there's the synchronization concept and that they don't have 100% free will but going back to the crossbow, what if Desmond simply learned how to build a crossbow with materials found in the 12th century and built one inside the simulation?

    Would that be possible?

Assassin's Creed Ragnarok Has Big Advantage Over Origins, Odyssey

Giving Unity another chance. Please help.

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 08:03 PM PST

Having played through Brotherhood and Black Flag for the third time, I thought I'd give Assassin's Creed Unity another shot, this time looking past the wonky new movement mechanic changes and stuttering cutscenes.

But to truly enjoy the experience, I need to know a few things. Please answer my questions if you are able:

    1. Is the game better if you play the Coop elements, or is it better to just skip them? Tied to this one, should I only upgrade myself, or put points into support abilities for when I play Coop?

    2. What armor set is definitively the best? Alternatively, is there one stat that armor provides that is nearly useless, and can be avoided? And do I have to wear the cosmetic to get the stat, even if I don't like it (without considering Outfits)?

    3. Which weapon type is best? Is the game going to throw a million enemies at me that are only weak to Heavy weapons? Or should I go pure stealth and not worry too much about close quarters, and just upgrade my normal sword every so often?

Thank you for any and all responses.

Is there a way to just walk around without really playing the game (Syndicate and Unity)

    Posted: 26 Feb 2020 12:12 AM PST

Please dont hate me, but i dont want to walk around in this tunnel levels and keep killing people and get attacked, i just want to visit the virtual London (and Paris) as a Civilian.
Is there a way to make this possible? Are you "free" after you completed some scenes? Any Godmode/whatever-Cheats?

Do people care about Altair being a Muslim??

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 08:35 AM PST

So I was always aware he was technically a Muslim, (at least it is heavily inferred but I'm not 100% he actually was( and I at least know for sure that he comes from a Muslim background, obviously)) but I saw someone actually mention this in a slightly less than pleasant way. And I was wondering if there are other groups that disagree with him being a Muslim or have some other opinion.

Just find it strange People would find a problem with it.

I am worried about co op in the next game

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 04:06 PM PST

There have been rumors floating around that the next ac game will have co op but not like the one in unity .We will be able to play the entire game in co op . While on a surface level i like the idea , the truth is that the quality of the main story may suffer from that . How do you think ubisoft should handle co op in the upcoming game ?

I can't stand what AC has become. (OPINION)

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 10:09 PM PST

First off, let me just get this outta the way first and say I loved AC with all my heart. I loved everything about it. The combat, the story, the gameplay, all of that. I played the Ezio saga to death, even read a lot of the novels. Hell, I even bought the soundtrack to every game up until AC3.

But, it really grinds my gears that Ubisoft has changed everything about this franchise that I barely recognize it anymore. It's not Assassins Creed. The storylines feel soulless. I have no connection to these characters. I can't relate with any of them. The storylines have gone down the drain. I miss having a two to three game saga following ONE character from cradle to the grave. I think most everyone wants this. I feel Ubisoft has turned their backs on the diehard fans that loved the originals in favor or repetitive gameplay mechanics and modern video gaming trends (microtransactions).

I was absolutely BLOWN AWAY with AC3. But I knew that the ending to it was definitely a changing point and I stopped playing the games. I only recently picked back up with where I left off and it's just not the same. Maybe I can't handle the changes but it's just not fun anymore for me. I love the history but I really don't feel immersed enough the story to care about any of these characters. They're either hit or miss. The lore doesn't even make sense anymore. I used to write fan-fiction about this stuff too.

I can't stand the RPG elements that they've put into the newer games. They don't feel like they belong at all. It just feels like they've taken everything I loved and thrown it away. I gave these games a chance and I hated every minute of it. I just can't take it anymore.

I don't know who else feels like this but Ubisoft has fallen far. I kinda hope the newer games crash and burn so that they can reboot the franchise into something better that is recognizable to the originals, but maybe that's just wishful thinking.

TL;DR: I don't like the new direction that the newer AC games have gone and I'm frustrated about it.

    Guards In The Games

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 07:50 PM PST

I miss how in the older games, the guards would be really rude to you. In AC2, one guard would always say "Get down or I'll throw you down" Recently heard a guard in AC Revelations say "What's going on in this cursed shit hole" I don't have Odyssey but if there are guards in it do they insult you or make threats to you with humor thrown into it? I've been playing Black Flag recently and haven't really heard any funny comments from the guards.

Why do people love black flag so much

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 07:28 AM PST

I'm not saying it's a bad game, I actually enjoyed it, but I don't get why it gets so much love. Personally i feel like it's under developed. The modern scenes aren't very big. the world may be big but it's pretty much all either ocean or copy paste challenges or obstacles.

I also may be a bit biased since my first game was 2.

Assassins Creed 1: Before you Buy Review

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 06:06 PM PST

    Spoilers at the end

    Introduction

As I started the game, I was pumped, bought it digitally on the ps3 for $15. I had no idea what I was getting into, never knew the time period, assassin or story. I only played Unity and a tiny bit of Black Flag.

The modern day storyline had me really interested as soon as I started up the game. Learning that Desmond was related to an assassin during the crusades (just learned about the crusades in school to which is cool) was awesome.

    Story

The story is really interesting but it lacks fun. But considering it is the game thats started it all, I give it props. A lot of repetition in the missions.

    Free running/ Parkour

Really good for 13 year old game. Does have a bit outdated controls but it works out really well. It took me over half the game how to do it because I started with AC Unity. If you have played any other AC game, forget those controls, these are basic.

    Locations

I loved the crusades aspect, it is an interesting subject and fits the Assassins concept. Not much else to say

    Gameplay

This is where I start criticizing. There are 2 complaints I have. Gold Diggers and the Mentally Challenged people. When free roaming, there are women and mentally challenged people who purposely annoy you. The women ask for money and you can't do anything about it, it goes on for 15+ seconds and it gets old quick. I started assassinating them so I didn't have to deal with them. When you are about to kill someone, it sucks when they get in-front of you because you'll accidentally kill them. The mental people piss me off too. They chase you and toss you around if you get close, which could result you falling into an enemy. Why Ubisoft? Who thought that was a good idea?

    Collectibles

Heck no, 420 flags for nothing. I do not recommend doing those, especially on ps3 because there are no trophies.

    Story Spoilers

Obviously I knew Abstergo was evil, but Altaïrs' master being the final villian blew my mind. I loved the boss fight. Story was 8/10 because of repetition of missions and the dumb gold diggers and mental people. Currently just finished AC2 but I won't post my review until I grab all the feathers, then Ill 100% the game.

Help with the new Modern Day story! Can you say all the material content there is about it?

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 08:09 AM PST

Hi, maybe this is a stupid post. I am a big AC fan since ps3 era but lost some contact with it since Unity. Now I have played all main games and Chronicles but with the end of Odyssey I didn't understand some aspects of the modern story. I know Charlotte is from the Comics, but I don't know which. Kiyoshi I think is the one from AC: Initiates (which I had read before back on the days but need a refresh), some I do remember them from mentions in Rogue, but the others I don't know them. And the first civilization story, why are they now called Isu? What happen to Osto Berg, and Shawn and Rebecca? What about Layla, and what is the AC: Bloodstone? Can you give some help to find all the material content to read, play, watch and understand? I think it's from AC: Initiates that I lost track with all of it. Thanks!!!!
