Quick question, how does Rogue compare to Black Flag? Posted: 26 Dec 2019 07:30 PM PST I got The Rebel Collection for switch and wanna know which one to play first. I started Black Flag before but never finished it, for that reason I'm leaning to Rogue. I heard Black Flag was one of the best though, and that Rogue wasn't very good, but that was mostly due to how little it added to the series when it came out. Since I have both now I'm leaning to Rogue. [link] [comments] |
What's next after the new Assassin's Creed game Posted: 26 Dec 2019 01:58 PM PST There's a neat little formula that AC series follows when it comes to their settings - when a certain time period and location is picked, they release a few games with similar setting before moving on: Levantine era: Assassin's Creed & Altair's Chronicles (Holy Land), Bloodlines (Cyprus) Renaissance era: Assassin's Creed 2, Brotherhood (Italian city states), Revelations (Ottoman Empire), Discovery (Spain) Colonial era: Assassin's Creed 3 (British colonies), Liberation (French colonies), Black Flag (Spanish colonies) Revolution era: Assassin's Creed 3 (American revolution), Unity (French revolution), Syndicate (Industrial revolution) Rogue acting acting as a bridge between the two (with AC3 fitting into Colonial era by location, and revolution era by events) Classical era: Origins (Ptolemaic Egypt), Odyssey (Greece) Now we hear rumours that the next AC will be Vikings-related, probably around 8th/9th century. If this is true, I believe the accompanying "side" game (for current gen consoles, maybe to ease the transition to the new generation of consoles, like Rogue did) will finally give us the Roman setting that some fans asked for, but with a twist - instead of ancient rome, we will see the fall of the western roman empire. Attila, barbarians, it would fit with both the Classical era, as well as the new era started with Kingdom/Vikings/Ragnarok/whatever they're going to call it. You can then group the four games into a different era, "mythology era" or whatever (since Origins and Odyssey feature mythology heavily, I bet Vikings will be the same, and the fourth game could venture into that too and show the final decline of first civilization remnants and the start of the dark ages - kinda like magic disappearing from the world in a metaphorical sense). After this era ends, we will probably finally venture to the oriental era - a trilogy of games set in China, Japan and India? You can throw in Russian empire into the mix too, to "fill out" the settings of the Chronicles games in main games. This would finally use up all the most obvious settings that the franchise can go for, and from there they may have to go for more obscure, more unique settings that don't get that much coverage in games and other media - Medieval African Kingdoms? Polish-Teutonic Wars? Kingdoms of South East Asia? Mongol Empire? Greco-Bactrian Kingdom? The Great Northern War? Pre-Columbian Americas? Holy shit yes please. [link] [comments] |
TIL Pisa, Italy was the HQ of the Knights Templar which is right beside Firenze Posted: 26 Dec 2019 01:06 AM PST Of course this was the HQ of the real life Templars and is probably different from the Templars in the game but it's interesting that Florence was right beside the Templar HQ Also, Pisa is overruled by the Templar symbol with the flag is up there atop the Leaning Tower of Pisa [link] [comments] |
Geralt of Rivia fight scene in 1x01 reminded me of the cinematic AC combat style Posted: 26 Dec 2019 10:16 PM PST Especially in Unity, where it was actually hard so the critique of the combat being too easy doesn't work there. Seeing Geralt fight those guys in the market reminded me of the cinematic combat we used to have. Honestly, I like the combat in Origins but in Odyssey I don't understand how it could be perceived as fun, tbh. I have to stab a guy in the face 30 times before he dies. It's a chore to fight a guy. In the old games, while it might have been easy I always felt like a bad ass. And in Unity I actually had to plan efore every fight because enemies were OP, as they should be when you are fighting several. Maybe we could have a mix of the current system with the old one, I don't know. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Dec 2019 10:43 PM PST The fucking FEATHERS. I'm 2 trophies away from the plat - and I'm losing my sanity for the last 5. [link] [comments] |
Did you want another AC Game from Ubisoft Quebec? Posted: 26 Dec 2019 01:02 PM PST Odyssey made a lot of things different than other AC Titels and was the second title created by Ubisoft Quebec. I really liked Syndicate from them but with Odyssey the lost my trust. For me it seems they want to make a Game in their own Vision and not an AC. Now the have a new IP Gods and Monsters where they could live out they're creative freedom. I also think it give other Studios hat Ubisoft that are more familiar with AC and that they should give them a chance to create an AC. I really worry that a another game from Quebec move far more away from the Core Pillars of the Franchise and its roots. [link] [comments] |
I’m thinking about buying the 1st Assassins Creed. Posted: 26 Dec 2019 08:43 AM PST Any heads-up or tips for someone who starting this series? I'm a huge Elder Scrolls fan so Assassins Creed piqued my interest. [link] [comments] |
Started Assassin Creed Unity Today Posted: 26 Dec 2019 10:26 PM PST So 1st time playing the game on pc since i got it for free. Load it no issues but after the chase with pocket watch. I went to do next mission the dude is walking crouch over and they he starts walking into wall and is half way through the wall and floating and i can't move at all. i thought they fixed the game. i never played a game so broken after even 1st mission. i just end up quitting and see if anyone else is had issues like that [link] [comments] |
A tale of me slaughtering people. Some people seem to call this a review. Posted: 26 Dec 2019 06:34 PM PST So after playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey for about a month now (on Stadia, it actually worked fantastic) and after about 100 hours of playtime I completed the main story and I'm currently playing the DLC stories. After all these hours, even with some minor annoyances (looking at you stupid horse and also at you bear which blocks me from freely moving around and getting me stuck in a corner) and making all the bad decisions (R.I.P like EVERYONE I loved) I can just say one thing; WOW. This was actually my first experience with the AC series because I'm not really a gamer, I played a lot of games on the Nintendo Switch like Mario Odyssey and Breath of the Wild (thank god this game let's me climb, BOTW made it impossible for me to play an open world game where I can't climb a wall or a mountain) but that's all, I almost never play a triple A game. I really loved Odyssey, it's a perfect mix of humor, beauty, emotions I shouldn't feel for fictional (or dead) people and murdering innocent people outside of the cities because no one will ever know. I loved the experience and I'm kinda sad that the journey is almost over, Chaire Malaka! [link] [comments] |
Origins: Downgrade armor visual appearance? Posted: 26 Dec 2019 02:50 PM PST I haven't played this game since i completed it in early 2018 i think and i was wondering if they ever added the option to downgrade Bayek's armor and equipment (plate, bracer, quiver, etc.) in terms of visual appearance, for those who prefer the look of lower levels. Posted: 26 Dec 2019 06:23 PM PST So I bought AC II on Steam recently and was prompted to download the Uplay launcher in order to play the game. I downloaded and all was fine and then I noticed that Black Flag was listed under the games I own. I never actually purchased the game but I was able to install it and play it. Was wondering if everyone just gets Black Flag for free or if like I'm able to play it because I played it on the Xbox before? My guess is not because on their website it says you can't transfer games across platforms, but then idk how I would've gotten it. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Dec 2019 11:57 PM PST Sorry for the dumb question everyone but I'm having a hard time finding the answer. I got a PS gift card for Xmas and want to get Odyssey but I can't see a difference between the gold and ultimate editions. They both have a season pass and AC3. What am I missing? [link] [comments] |
Why the Bolshevik revolution could make for a great story. Posted: 26 Dec 2019 02:48 PM PST My first post on this sub but I've been thinking about this idea for a long time. Imagine a game set in Russia during the Bolshevik revolution. Y/C is one of the revolutionaries and aids in key parts and the assassin's of course orchestrate the revolution. However towards the end of the game once the "people" win and institute communism it's revealed that who you thought were good assassin's leading others have actually been Templars the whole time now using this power shift to institute their goals. What games to play if you actually like the meta story? Posted: 26 Dec 2019 07:44 AM PST As great fun as the core gameplay is for these games, and even as very interesting as the ancestors stories can be, the thing that brought me back to the franchise for 2 through Black Flag was the modern day story. But it was clear that the modern day stuff was less and less of a concern for Ubisoft and the players and with how different Black Flag was from the previous games, I took Edward sailing off to a better life as an opportunity to back out of the franchise. And that felt okay with Rogue and Unity. I wasnt interested. Chronicles sort of just slipped by unnoticed. Then I heard great things about Syndicate but never anything about the meta story so I still stayed away. Then Origins and Odyssey both reviewed amazingly and the the plots made it seem like the meta story would be cared for again and they have me interested. But what about the gap? TL;DR and really the qestion I'm getting at: Which of the games and other media post Black Flag do you recommend someone who actually cares about meta story? Or at the least, what's essential? What I Would Like For The 'Ragnarok' AC Game Posted: 26 Dec 2019 03:41 PM PST Tldr at the bottom. One thing I would like is obviously a good storyline. I would be okay with one that is very straightforward, but I would also be fine with a storyline that can have different pathing. I want longboats. Vikings have long boats, I want to be able to shoot arrows from my boats, like Odyssey and Origins. I want to be able to use a shield, especially if there are large group battles and we can do a shield wall. Bonus points if there is a spear involved. I want awesome weapon types as well, shields included, small shields, tower shields, battle axes, swords, broadsword and even a greatsword. I want to be able to hunt, kind of like in AC3, but I want to be able to sell furs or something in villages or towns. I want snow, I want rough mucky lands or bitter cold terrain. I want to be the best viking. I want to fight other Vikings, even other lads from different places. I want to explore and I want to assassinate. Tldr:: i want to be the best viking. Posted: 26 Dec 2019 06:49 AM PST Wanted to get myself ac3 so I could have ezio's story, 3 and rogue to play through (100% BF twice now, kinda bored of it). The uplay store only has the remastered one but my laptop can't run it and steam doesn't have it. I'm trying G2A but they don't accept my visa prepaid card and it's a little frustrating. Any tips? Where are low level mercenaries? Posted: 26 Dec 2019 02:19 PM PST I just got to level 20 and since I have been hunting mercenaries, they are all either many levels above me or on my level. I moved up on tiers, what happens to those mercenaries behind me I did not yet see?Are they in some place I missed? [link] [comments] |
Will I like Origins if I liked Unity Posted: 26 Dec 2019 01:38 PM PST Hello all, I recently discovered the very generous discount for Origin on EGS and was thinking of buying it, but wasn't too sure. I'm a big fan of Ubi games, Far Cry, Watch_Dogs, Splinter Cell, but I didn't have that same feeling with all the AC games. When Unity was given away, though, I really digged it: the gameplay, the setting, the story (and all the outfits) were all really cool to me. So, would I like Origins as much as I did Unity? I heard it's much more RPG-esque than the rest, kinda like Far Cry New Dawn, although this didn't bother me too much in FC. Another issue would be if it actually runs well enough on my current laptop 😅 [link] [comments] |
I cant find the blood fever quest. Posted: 26 Dec 2019 05:15 AM PST I don't recall finishing but everybody in the island is alive, however i cant find phiobe or markos. [link] [comments] |
Haven't followed gaming news since July, can somebody please give me a rundown on AC Kingdom leaks? Posted: 26 Dec 2019 10:14 AM PST I would really appreciate it. Been a bit out of the loop and I wanna know what I missed. Especially if there is any leaked footage. Thanks. [link] [comments] |
What is the purpose of eeyoo sekedoo aat in AC Origins? Posted: 26 Dec 2019 09:24 AM PST I've read up about first civilisation and that they made temples to protect themselves, but it's not clicking with me. Where the temples purpose to one day speak to the protagonist of the game, or where they simply ways of protection? And what did the Pharaohs make of them? [link] [comments] |
