Fun Fact: There are "flip-phone" java versions of each mainline game up until AC3.

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 06:36 AM PST

Back before the rise of smartphones, Ubisoft had contracted their sister company at the time, Gameloft, to produce mobile phone versions of some of their console and PC titles including Far Cry, Splinter Cell, Prince of Persia and Assassin's Creed. There are mobile versions of AC1 and 2, Brotherhood, Revelations and AC3 you can play right now using a java app emulator such as Kemulator for the PC. The games loosely follow the narrative of their console and PC counterparts but heavily simplified and the gameplay is basic action adventure style like most mobile games of this type at the time.

I love Assassins Creed for its in-game cutscenes

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 07:49 PM PST

Without this series embracing real time and in-game cutscenes, glorious moments like this would never be possible. I'll forever be grateful for opportunities to laugh my ass off like this.

For Assassin's Creed traditionalists/purists, how would you had explained the myths of Odyssey/Origins?

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 10:49 PM PST

Disclaimer: I didn't hate either of them, I enjoyed them very much, just wanted to see some fun ideas from people who may not or didn't agree with the direction/execution

    Specific examples would be nice

    Examples:

Instead of Medusa being a snake headed women who really turned people to stone, it was technology (Helmet of Eden?) that put people in stasis for preservation

Instead of a half-man half-bull, the Minotaur was a was basically an Isu created robot made to look like a bull because people feared bulls

IDK grasping at straws but stuff like that, that would fit the lore in your opinion.

Assasins Creed Ireland would be badass.

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 10:43 AM PST

You are about to get executed for your involvement in the 1916 Easter rising until you are miraculously saved by protesting nationalists and then throughout 1916-1921 you start your underground Assassins to defeat the British developing strongholds in Dublin, Cork and other places. I know this has been suggested on here before but Irish history is vastly underrated!

a better fight with haytham for ac3?

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 09:50 PM PST

i was thinking, rather than the fight we had in the fortress we could have had it in the homestead or frontier. haythem is as good as (or better than) conner in combat. so why not have it where they end up fighting there and a massive pack of bears come along and they utterly destroy haytham while conner defends himself using the skills he learned from the villiage. its the only realistic way conner can best haytham. thoughts?

A comic or something of a final confrontation with Arno and Connor vs Shay would be dope.

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 10:01 AM PST

I always thought it was a bit annoying how Arno never confronts Shay, the man who killed his father and set forward his entire story arc. I think it would be cool to see Arno hunt down Shay, the newly christened Grand Master of the Templar's after Germain's death, just after Dead Kings. Although Shay would be well into his 70s, he's a fit dude and could likely hold his own against Arno. Connor could also be involved, seeing as Shay also set his story in motion by helping cripple Achilles and almost destroying the entire brotherhood. Perhaps Shay could be looking for an artifact with some other Templars in Egypt or a similar place with historical implications. I think it would be interesting to see his story tied up by two other main characters who both have their reasons to hunt him. What are your guys' thoughts?

Little thing added in odyssey I just found out

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 07:48 PM PST

I'm playing for the second time and just finished the cyclops mission and met Barnabas. I needed leather so on my way to the harbour I started killing goats, Ikaros killed one and when I looted them I got the obsidian eye back! I had no idea you could do this. It's just a little thing that made me happy. Idk if anyone else knows

AC Odyssey savefile disappeared on PS4

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 09:18 PM PST

I'm playing AC Odyssey on PS4. Racked up 70+ hours in a single playthrough. This afternoon, I booted up the game and my save files were gone, all of them except one where I only was a dozen hours into the game. Yes, even the quicksave files are gone. I'm devastated and I don't know what to do. Losing such a precious save makes me want to put the game down forever, or even sell it. Has it happened to anyone here, and if so, could you salvage anything? I'm at a total loss...

    Assassin's Creed survey

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 01:13 PM PST

    Hi, all!

I'm currently working on my thesis for my Bachelor of Arts degree. In my thesis, I handle the Assassin's Creed franchise as a cultural and historical product. For this thesis I've created a web survey for anyone who has played any Assassin's Creed game. Whether you've just started playing Assassin's Creed or you've played them all, your answers would be very useful for me.

The survey circles around the player's (your) personal experiences with Assassin's Creed games.

So if you have time, I would appreciate it if you took part in my survey at: https://link.webropolsurveys.com/S/C9A8841C5E7BE3CB

If you're a fellow Finn and would like to do the survey in Finnish, send me a message! A Finnish version does exist.

If you have any questions, send me a message or contact me at the email address that can be found in the survey. Cheers!

How to see my side quests and objectives in AC3

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 09:41 PM PST

I've heard that the dna tracker is where the quests and objectives can be found, however I'm only seeing the timestamp where it was introduced and nothing else. Is there somewhere else to find it? I've had a couple side quests now and can't complete any of them because I don't remember the objectives and I can't figure out a way to find them. On a separate note, I started the finding bigfoot mission and it is completely gone even from my timestamps like it never happened and the frontiersmen are also gone from my map so I know there's nothing I still need to do with them. Is this a glitch in the game or is there something I need to do in order to track this quest?

Does Odyssey feel like the older assassins creed games?

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 09:23 PM PST

Been powering my way through all these games. Got a killer deal on Black Friday. So far I played Black Flag through Syndicate. Loved them all honestly. Especially Unity. I had trouble getting through Syndicate at first as the main characters and story threw me off, but in the end I'm glad I played through it.

Then I boot up origins. And I'm kinda like what the fuck is this ya know? Like I'm not even sure why this is called Assassins creed. Granted I'm only about an hour in, but I'm bored, and confused as to why this is even in the same series as the other games.

I'm enjoying it so little that I'm half tempted to skip to Odyssey. I'm just concerned that it's going to more of the same. More dark souls lite combat, more incoherent story, more NOT Assassins Creed.

Just want your guys take on Origins Vs Odyssey and how they compare to the rest of the series.

[AC Origins] Rare Item flagged as Legendary?

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 03:00 PM PST

Why the hell Ubisoft tagged the Crocodile Fang in the Ubisoft Store as a Legendary item when It's just fucking rare?
I wasted 40 Ubisoft Points and now there's a purple item sitting in my inventory that I can't get rid oooff.
Why the fuck it's tagged as legendary? Ubi? Hello?

Best AC to start with based on experience with AC-like games?

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 12:11 PM PST

With all of the PS4/Switch sales, I've been tempted to buy my first AC game but I'm not sure where to start. I played AC1 for a couple of hours the week it launched and grew so bored that I essentially wrote off the series. But in the past 5 years I've really enjoyed games which are derivatives of AC: Shadow of Mordor/War, Horizon Zero Dawn, etc. I enjoyed those games so much that I 100% them, which is very rare for me. I loved the stories and open-world aspects of those games, and also love historical period stories so AC seems like it is would be a good fit. I don't really care about the current-day aspects of the game though (Miles story bored me).

I see a lot of people stating that Origins and Odyssee are very different than the others. Does that mean they are less like the games I mentioned? I've heard great things about Black Flag but they say it's less of an AC game and more of a pirate game. AC3 also looks fun but it might be old enough that it's missing the QoL enhancements that current-gen games have.

    What do you recommend?

    Thank you!

Why do you love Assassins Creed?

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 11:29 AM PST

Let's have a positive discussion here. What makes you love this series?

For me it's because it was so different from what I usually played. It was unlike COD or Mario, it was my first really "out there" game. I played Revelations first and it showed me how different games could be. I didn't understand the story but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

I love scaling buildings, being engrossed in the time period, getting excited at what a new entry will bring. Even if Origins and Odyssey are too big without enough quality content, I can still see why people enjoy them. And I did 100% Origins.

Plus, Odyssey's season pass was fantastic. Expansions and two older AC games? That's what a season pass should be like.

Game keeps informing me that New Content is Available: Return to Start Screen to Activate, every single time I load in and reload in.

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 09:14 AM PST

Thought I had a corrupted install so I reinstalled the whole game and all the dlc. Yet each time I load in, it informs me I need a restart. So I restart and it does it again. Starting to aggravate the hell out of me, I've spent more time loading into the game the last hour than I have playing.

    What gives?

Can we really consider Connor as a full-fledged Assassin?

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 06:43 PM PST

Connor, although in the order, seems less concerned with Assassin ideals (i.e. truth and liberty) than most other Assassins. His primary concern is his people and his personal vandetta towards Charles Lee. Connor (and achilles) dont seem to really care for the Colonists struggle for freedom as much as you would expect them to. For instance, Connor refused to help Washington and his cause after he learned about the attack on his people during the seven years war, thus putting his people before the Assassins overall goal. Thoughts?

    Anyone still a Pirate?

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 07:09 AM PST

Hello! I am really behind on consoles/PC in general and as such I am playing through the AC games at my own pace. Just yesterday I finished Black Flag on my old PS3 with a 99% synchro!! The only things I am missing are the social chests and Royal Convoys. Anybody got any tips on how to get those? I have roamed the seas for hours and still nothing :(

how do you mod AC: Odyssey? the game wasn't even showing up in nexus mod manager, or vortex

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 06:10 PM PST

i don't have a ton of experience modding games outside of the super easy steamworkshop. so i'm sorry if this is a noob question. but i can't figure out how to get any to work for this game.

i used nmm for witcher 3 and had no problems, but when that didn't work for ac odyssey i tried vortex next. and it wasn't showing up there either. i don't even see a place to manually add a game
