Posted: 28 Dec 2019 11:09 AM PST Ill not even make a lenghty argumted post, ill just throw this out here My ideal AC is set on a single, walled, extremely densely packed city. You can enter nearly every house, interact with nearly everyone. There are tunnels under this city and no rooftop guards. There are secret places, guild halls, brothels, Stores, taverns, banks. You need to eat, drink, sleep ala red dead 2. You need to blend in the crowd again. You can enter everywhere in this city and do anything that is possible with the current technology. This is my dream AC. Being an assassin is simply more fun when youre in an urban settings. Its what drew me to these games in the first place. Being a dangerous blade that hides in the corners and alleys. But sadly now all they care about is giving us a huge landmass with smaller and more importantly less dense cities. Dont kid yourselves. Even if Ragnarok is the next ac im 300% sure we will he getting tons and tons of florests and the cities like York and..well... York will be an afterthought. Same as Alexandria was in origins and Sparta and Athens were in Odyssey We dont need size. We need density! [link] [comments]
Ubisoft is revisiting the series on its YouTube channel; maybe leading up to something? Posted: 28 Dec 2019 06:15 AM PST So, Ubisoft's YouTube channel is doing this series of videos called Assassin's Creed - The Real History that so far has covered the first three games: Assassin's Creed - The Real History of the Third Crusade on September 26, 2019 Assassin's Creed II - The Real History of Florence on November 1, 2019 Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood - The Real History of Renaissance Rome on December 23, 2019 For now it doesn't appear to have any sort of pattern for when the videos are posted, since they skipped a month, posted at the beginning or end of the month, etc., and maybe it doesn't mean anything, maybe they're just trying to keep the series on people's minds since there was no new game at the end of this year, nor a movie, nor any sort of meaningful content, but who knows, maybe the series ends just before the announcement of the next game. Probably grasping at straws here, but let me know what you think [link] [comments]

What are some good Assassin's Creed games that aren't apart of the Ezio trilogy? Posted: 28 Dec 2019 10:39 PM PST I get that the Ezio trilogy is the best, so I'm saving the best for last. I want to know which of the games are the best to play. [link] [comments]
AC Origins — Anyone know why I can’t attack Roman soldiers? Posted: 28 Dec 2019 09:42 PM PST Storywise, I'm really close to the end of the game. I'm about a third of the way through The Final Weighing and the current objective is to go to Kyrenaika to find Flavius. I decided to go explore my last five regions while I'm at it (the five in the northwest corner). I just got to Hydrax Roman Camp, where I'm supposed to find a treasure and kill the captain, but I can't fight anyone here. I can tag everyone with Senu, but I can't touch them. They don't react to me at all. I don't think I can even damage them. Throwing firebombs at the captain did absolutely nothing. Google isn't helping. Reloading mission objectives, desynching, and fast forwarding time didn't help either. What's going on and why can't I fight them? [link] [comments]
Latin translation of “Nothing is true. Everything is permitted.” Posted: 28 Dec 2019 10:39 AM PST I'm getting a tattoo of assassin's creed (will post my options in a bit) but I wanted to include a translation. To the extent of my knowledge the translation is "Nihil est Verum. Licet Omnia." Is this a correct/accurate translation? And if not, what would be a better one? This is getting inked on my body I want it to be accurate [link] [comments]
Thoughts on a Bayek and Aya game set in Rome? Posted: 28 Dec 2019 05:38 PM PST It would be so fucking sweet The period in Roman history following Caesar's assassination and Augustus' rise to power is an AC story just waiting to be told We'd get Ancient Rome as our location which pretty much everyone would love I think We'd get one of the greatest protagonists back since Edward Kenway, and Aya would get to be more fleshed out as well. They could even bring back the whole double protagonist thing from Syndicate If any AC game needs a direct sequel, Origins is surely it [link] [comments]
Does anybody knows something about AC animated series? Posted: 28 Dec 2019 01:47 PM PST I remember year or two ago some talk about animated AC series by producer of Castlevania. Does anybody knows something more about it? Is it still in works? [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Dec 2019 07:25 AM PST Every game, our Assasins interact with great historic figures across time. Some we see in game, some in other media. I've been wondering what great people a modern assasin may interact with and whether those individuals would be aligned with the Brotherhood, the Order, or neither. I think the latest historical figure we have met was Churchill during the AC Syndacite rift missions. I can only think of a couple people off top : Edward Snowden - Self explanatory (can play on the controversy) Elon Musk - Tech Visionary Graham Hancock - Journalist specializing in ancient mysteries (can really play on his research, though the timelines may not line up well) I'm sure there are better choices, which is one reason for the post. Just really interested in who you think would be worth visiting/helping/etc Also, if you deem a certain person as a Templar, please refain from talking about different ways to assassinate them. I'd rather this be a fun discussion about games and modern history, as opposed to murder fantasies lol. Thanks in advanced 🙏🏻 [link] [comments]
Hello kind people of reddit i'm looking for an opinion Posted: 28 Dec 2019 10:09 PM PST So i'm looking to buy another AC game before the sale ends on steam, I have played all of the games up until Syndicate. I got Odyssey and have been enjoying it and am looking to buy one more game. So in your kind people's opinions which game is better Syndicate or Origins and which one should I get? [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Dec 2019 10:07 PM PST So I love Odyssey and like where the franchise as a whole is going. That being said I also liked the gameplay of the older games. But I could never enjoy any of them because I have one of the most uncommon gaming opinions of all time. Yes I HATE Ezio. Seriously I never understood why people liked his character so much. I just found him to be an annoying peacock. Not really a personality one looks for in an assasin. So games like Brotherhood kind of broke my hart. The game play was amazing. But I just never could bring myself to finish it since I could not stand the hero. [link] [comments]
[SPOILERS] Mental Illness and Assassin’s Creed Posted: 28 Dec 2019 03:37 AM PST Ubisoft has a chance like no other studio to create one of the most grounded and visceral titles available by combining their deep lore of Assassin's Creed and various mental health issues. Topics like gender dysphoria, DID, psychopathy, psychosis, anxiety, etc are very rarely ever covered by games, let alone AAA titles. Smaller games like Hellblade and Celeste are universally praised as masterpieces for depictions of Psychosis and Anxiety respectively, both while providing fun gameplay and compelling stories. Before I dive deeper into this, I do want to give a spoiler warning for all comics and games, as I'll be discussing mental health issues brought up throughout the series. Also, the post will bring up some mildly political topics such as gender dysphoria/ transgenderism. I am attempting to be as neutral as possible, please do not focus on personal politics, as much as the argument I'm making from a story and gameplay perspective. Memory is very fragile in real life. Traumatic incidents can often create repressed memories and in some cases severe illnesses and disorders such as DID (Dissociate Identity Disorder, formerly known as multiple personality disorder). We see a lot of hints about the fragility of the psyche, personality, and memory through earlier titles, from Altair's memories being repressed due to an anxious state of Desmond in AC1 and this subconsciously rejecting later memories from being decoded by the animus; traumatic memories in Brotherhood being rejected and suppressed (like the death of Mario and Christina); Clay being driven to suicide by Juno and the bleeding effect, and his memory and personality being stored in the animus and gray; Desmond and Juno becoming disconnected from their bodies and joining the gray; the box and koh-i-noor combining to add Shao Jun's personality to Anastasia, giving Anastasia split personality disorder; Julia Gorm forming DID from the animus as revealed in Bloodstone; in bloodstone the reveal of brainwashing tactics using the animus; plus the most famous example in the series of creating a sleeper cell from Daniel Cross. And to be honest, that's a fraction of the in series lore about the animus and memory/ mental issues. This is where we can start to see the potential for future games to implement some potentially touchy subjects into the game to help create a more grounded experience while being able to push gameplay boundaries. Rumor is for Kingdom/ Ragnarok we will play as a character named Jora who you can choose to play as male or female. That doesn't normally make sense in lore, but with the character having gender dysphoria, they may view themselves and remember themselves as male, even though they were born female. Thus the animus isn't sure how to render, as a male or female, because it views this as contradictory because the memory says y but the DNA says x. While this doesn't have to be integral to the plot, it can also help create interesting character dynamics at a few points. This can thus be both positive for those on the political spectrum that are looking for inclusivity, while also abating the counter argument by not being overly preachy, but being relevant to the title in regards to gameplay and some story beats. We can say similar things about DID or SPD, which can also often be met with body and gender dysmorphia, so the memories of the alter or personality may be one thing, even if the body did or acted differently. Besides just being a gender choice, this can be used to create an interesting system for dialogue choices and karma-systems. Perhaps one alter is in more control than another due to actions you as the player are taking, so certain dialogue options will be more likely, or choices will be timed based on personality presence. Confusing and conflicting dialogue and choices thus being explained by the fugue state between personalities while always being canon because that personality recorded their memory that way, regardless of what the body actually said. Bringing in a karma system while bringing in a system to manage personality deviations can thus create interesting dynamics with characters in the story, or even help make different playthroughs more interesting, as you focus more on different personalities and how they affect other characters. Between 16-72% (yeah that's a large gap, psychology is fun like that) of patients with psychosis, schizophrenia, and schizoaffective disorders report visual and auditory hallucinations. Hellblade expertly used this to create multiple illusions in the game, including some monsters and enemies that you have to escape from and fight. While used by Hellblade, psychosis can help drive the plot forward a lot. Maybe while in a psychotic fit, Jora kills a loved one, or after a death of a loved one (psychosis is often triggered by trauma) kills a town of innocent people thinking they are templars. How will other Vikings respond? How would the assassin order respond? Can the mythical beasts, bosses, mythical weapons that shoot lightning be a hallucination? And what if some things are real, due to PoE. Will other characters believe Jora about their existence, or think it's part of your madness? Would Jora even believe their own eyes, or just think it's another hallucination? I'd love to hear your thoughts on the use of mental illness, disorders, and health issues in AC as story and gameplay mechanics. It's been a desire of mine to see since Revelations came out to see how characters would deal with things like this in both the past and modern day. Really, all they need is good writers to make this a reality, and quite possibly a damn good one. [link] [comments]
Disabling HUD in AC Rogue remastered (PS4) Posted: 28 Dec 2019 12:56 PM PST Hello everybody, just a quick question about AC Rogue remastered for PS4, I've searched already but can't find an answer. It's possible to disable the HUD entirely from the options? [link] [comments]
Should I watch or wait to play? Posted: 28 Dec 2019 09:25 PM PST I want to replay Origins, but I can't start to play anything yet (loooooong story). I would have to wait at least 1 month to play, but I really want to see the gameplay, and I am impatient. Should I watch a lets play of it, or should I wait for a month to replay? Mythical Creatures/ Abomination Armor AC Odyssey Posted: 28 Dec 2019 09:12 PM PST What is the abomination armor in AC Odyssey? I cheated it in into my game and it looks like a copy of the Mercenary Armor. It has pretty decent perks, I am wondering if there is a way to get it in game legitimately? [link] [comments]
(DLC SPOILERS) What IS the underworld? Posted: 28 Dec 2019 08:58 PM PST I'm basically at the beginning of chapter 2, and boy do I have questions. If you read the loading screen hints and listen to Aletheia, you learn that the greek underworld that we play in are essentially simulations to help you gain mastery of/to survive the staff's power. But just too many things happen in there. First, you have all these Isu people, impersonating gods in Isu-ized Greek garments, Isu who have actually really existed in the old world. You learn of the old Atlantis league of Isu that was basically at war with the main one. Now all these precursors are simulated in these places full of humans who appear to be real and to have really died? I'm not at the end of the DLCs yet, but unless there's a plot twist later on that helps us make sense of all that, this is just mostly strange. Nothing makes sense, and if it's all pure simulation, then why care about anything? If you learn that stuff later in the DLCs, just say it and don't spoil it. Thanks :) [link] [comments]
Syndicate's Grappling Hook and Odyssey Posted: 28 Dec 2019 12:04 PM PST I got through like 90% of Odyssey's main story before needing a break from the grind-y campaign, so I decided to try Syndicate (which had been sitting in my backlog for years) and then return to Odyssey afterwards. I ended up beating Syndicate in about a week and started back on Odyssey again. But this time, Kassandra didn't feel like the OP badass she felt like on my first stint with Odyssey. Weirdly enough, the grappling hook from Syndicate had made the Frye twins feel like Batman, and returning to a more "grounded" (pun intended) AC experience where climbing/traversing is manual served to remove some of the over-the-top supernatural feel Odyssey has. tl;dr - If you feel like Odyssey's mythological/supernatural elements are too much for you, try Syndicate first and come back to Odyssey. How to find Iobates the Stoic? Posted: 28 Dec 2019 01:07 PM PST Hey so my last cultist is Iobates the stoic and ik hes the nation leader of Lemnos but does lemnos have to be spartan/athenian or does it matter at all? Any tips or hints? [link] [comments]
Rank Assassin's Creed games based on the places the action takes on Posted: 28 Dec 2019 08:29 AM PST The best, most gorgeous locations, not necessarily by the quality of graphics(since newer games always look better). Mine would be: 1) Caribbeans in Black Flag 2) Ancient Greece in Odyssey 3) Paris in Unity 4) Ancient Egypt in Origins 5) Renaissance Italy in AC2 6) Rome in Brotherhood 7) North America in AC3 8) North Atlantic in Rogue 9) London in Syndicate(gorgeous graphics, but industrial England isn't a very exciting sight IMO) 10) Constantinopole in Revelations 11) Damascus in AC1(easily the least interesting location) Yeah, I am mad with beautiful, exotic locations, but also appreciating cities like Paris, Venice, Rome. Almost every assassin had their hidden blade on their left hand. Have you ever wondered why? Posted: 28 Dec 2019 01:23 AM PST I read a book called Assassins creed syndicate written by Oliver Bowden. There was an article saying that assassins had their hidden blade attached to their dominant hand. Every assassin in Assassins creed series, who was using one hidden blade had it attached to their left hand. Which means that they were left handed. But people like Ezio, Connor, Edward and Shay were using two hidden blades. Each on one hand. Does that mean they are both handed? [link] [comments]
