Assassin’s creed the rebel collection audio issues

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 08:11 PM PST

I recently purchased assassin's creed the rebel collection and I'm really enjoying it. After playing an hour of assassin's creed rogue it seems to have these weird audio hiccups. Every few minutes the audio will pause for a split second. Is anyone else having this issue? Also I have re-starting my system and the issue still persists.

Just a thought: AC set in Southeast Asia

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 07:50 PM PST

We've touched on western Europe and the middle East with the existing games, but I would really love to see southeast Asia represented in the lore. The region has very old civilisations and prominent trading kingdoms, and a background battle between the Assassins and the Templars or localised predecessors like in Origins and Odyssey could reasonably fit in.

Some locations that could be featured: the Melaka Sultanate, Siam, Singapore, the Khmer Empire, and the various sultanates on the Indonesian archipelago.

[Discussion] In what order do I splice the games and books for a complete run-through?

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 08:52 PM PST

I've found the game order and what I THINK is the book order but it's a bit confusing trying to figure out how to go through both together in the correct order without reading heavy spoilers to figure it out.

Could somebody go over this with me? Also, are there comics or just books? And where can I watch the story for the old mobile games you can't find anymore?

Does Odyssey have 'real world' story portions?

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 07:53 PM PST

The title is the main question, I'm mainly talking about the parts where the story shifted from the past to the present with characters like Desmond. Never was really interested in those portions as it really disconnected me from the main story. Thanks in advance for any answers!

    AC Syndicate 99% Total Sync

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 07:48 PM PST

Quick question - I have done literally everything you can do, but on the ubisoft club, it says my total sync is 99%. Story, Associate, and Misc are all 100%. I have bought and crafted everything and have done all the Ubisoft club challenges. I have all perks and I also have all achievements. (Including WWI and Jack the Ripper 100%) Its bothering me more than it probably should, but I was just wondering if anyone else has run into this problem?

What DRM do Syndicate, Black Flag, Rogue and Unity use on steam?

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 07:43 PM PST

I'm just curious, pondering buying the four pack for $30 during the sale, but I don't buy games with Denuvo out of principle (and the fact that its been known to mess up hardware on occasion), having bought Odyssey on PS4 instead.

What s about an AC in an African's country?

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 02:28 PM PST

We use to talk about Japan, China, south America, north of England, the viking etc... But why not in Africa. I don't know a lot about the history of Africa even if I got some origins in Morocco but I would love to learn about this continent. I don't know about the architecture, the arts, mores etc. I dont know if they can do something but it can be nice and surprising...

    My idea for AC Kingdom/Ragnarok

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 04:53 PM PST

Disclaimer: This is my own creation. I am not claiming this is a leak from my uncle at Ubisoft. Second, this is only for the story not for gameplay.

The game begins in 793 AD with the raid on Lindisfarne. This is a prologue/tutorial. The Vikings land at Lindisfarne, and the monks begin ringing an alarm bell. The player character, along with other Vikings, plunders the monastery, killing monks and breaking things, until he triggers his eagle vision and something pulls him to an abandoned room. There, in a nondescript box, he finds the Apple of Eden. He takes only this treasure and tells no one about it, and no one asks because as soon as the Vikings leave the monastery, they are ambushed by Northumbrian forces responding to the monks alarm. A combat tutorial commences while fighting off the ambushers. Once the skirmish is won, the player character gets back in the longboat to sail back to Norway.

Cut to the year 867. We are now playing as a teenage Norseman suffering from wanderlust in a village on a fjord. We are free to explore this fjord and a tutorial on sailing, hunting, stealth, synchronizing viewpoints, etc. follows us along until we get to the first story mission. Our character arrives home and discovers armed men searching all of the houses one by one. One of MC's parents beckons from behind the house and hands him/her a round object wrapped in cloth. The family is descended from that raider on Lindisfarne and has kept the Apple the past couple generations. We are instructed to sneak the Apple out of the village but we are discovered trying to escape and after a short chase captured and brought to a nearby town. On the way there, he learns that this is the work of Harald Fairhair, the self-proclaimed King of Norway and was seeking the Apple of Eden to use it to unite all of Norway. He's not a Templar, at least not yet, he had just heard of this powerful artifact and wanted to use it for personal gain.

Rogaland, Norway: Our character is brought to a fort and put in jail, but spies a particularly obstinate prisoner. Once the guards close the door, the man convinces our character to help each other escape. He does, and the man takes our character back to his hidey hole where is it revealed the mystery man is an Assassin from the Baltics and has come to Norway to investigate reports that suggest a Piece of Eden is present. The Assassin gives our character a weapon and our character does a mission to train and prove himself before he is given a hidden blade. My idea is that the MC starts off as an Edward-like character, working with the Brotherhood because their interests are temporarily aligned since an Assassin helped him escape, but grows into a more genuine believer. The culminating mission in this sequence would be taking the Apple of Eden from Fairhair's stronghold. We can't kill Fairhair, because he is a historical figure, and while some may debate how real he was, his doesn't die historically until 933.
After securing the Apple of Eden, the Assassin/ mentor instructs MC to take the Apple to the Brotherhood in Kiev. The Templars do not exist publicly until 1119, but the underground organization holds northern and Western Europe firmly, where the Brotherhood is weak. Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean are much safer places to hide the Apple because the Brotherhood is stronger there, closer to its origins. The mentor will stay in Norway to keep Fairhair above the influence of the Templars (i.e. Christianity), so MC must set off alone. To reach Kiev, he'll have to journey east through Templar controlled lands to reach it, using the network of rivers through Eastern Europe that Vikings actually used to found the Kievan Rus.

*For this to work the world could not be one giant map. It would have to be a few large maps that must be fast traveled between, and once one region is traveled to in a story mission, all regions that came before it are free to be revisited. Here is how I would split it up:

    1. Southern Norway and waters just off the coast
    2. The Baltic Sea, islands within it, and the coast of the Baltics
    3. The river network through Eastern Europe and the land surrounding it, up until Kiev
    4. Mouth of the Dnieper and northern coast of the Black Sea including Crimea
    5. Constantinople

** I know many people want to visit the British Isles, but for this story it would be extraneous. Perhaps in a DLC one could take part in the conflict between the Great Heathen Army and the kingdoms of England

Now our MC moves through these regions, completing quests and taking down Templars in his way as he goes, until he reaches Kiev. Upon arrival, his longboat and crew is impounded but the MC manages to escape into the city. Picture Novigrad, but without mages and plus Templars. Kiev has fallen, and although Assassins are still in the city, they are much harder to find. Our MC is trying and failing to contact the Brotherhood, until one night when his Viking heritage and sorry situation gets the better of him and he gets involved in a bar fight, finishing it with his hidden blade. A watcher in the shadows clocks his unique weapon, and after the cops are called and the MC is attempting to escape through the windy alleys of Kiev, he is snatched up by the Brotherhood. They're suspicious because:
    1) He has a hidden blade
    2) He used it to kill a random guy
    3) He was never made an actual Assassin

After he proves his loyalty and gives them the Apple of Eden, he is told that Kiev is too unstable to hide the Apple there and that he must get to the Black Sea to meet the Brotherhood from Constantinople. Unfortunately, the MC's longboat is unrecoverable until Templar influence in Kiev is diminished. (It is not locked away, my idea is that it is at the docks, but under such heavy guard that trying to steal it is suicide until you complete the missions in Kiev so that the Templars are undermanned, similar to how the region leaders were guarded in Odyssey). Once these missions are complete, the MC steals his boat back and sets sail down the Dnieper. MC arrives at the Black Sea and goes to meet the Byzantine Brotherhood however he is intercepted by the Byzantine Navy due to him commanding what appears to be a Viking raid. MC is captured one last time and the Apple is taken to the (Templar) Emperor. In the climatic mission, MC sneaks through Constantinople, assassinates Byzantine/Roman Emperor Michael III ( he actually was assassinated in 867) , steals the apple back and gives it to the Brotherhood. In the coming centuries, the Apple finds its way to Masyaf.

*In the centuries between this game and AC1, a lot can happen, so it does not really matter who gets the Apple in the end.

tl;dr: A Viking AC game could explain how the Apple of Eden got to Masyaf

Is it too late to get into this series?

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 06:53 AM PST

    Hi all,

I played a bit of AC1 about 10 years ago. I enjoyed the bit I played. Now that I have a PS4, I see most of the series (at least 10+ games for PS4, the 3D ones at least), are on it. I have a few questions.

Given how many games there are in the series, is it too late to get into it? Should I play the 2.5D/Chronicles games?

Should I finish 1, then get the Ezio Collection and see how I feel about that?

How much of the games are story/exposition, stealth, combat?

    Are these games open-world?

Most importantly, can I turn off the UI/HUD, or make it as simple as Assassin's Creed 1? A cluttered UI/HUD tends to distract me in games.

Finally, what do you all enjoy the most about the series? Do you have any favorite games?

    Thanks!

I've played most the Assassins creed games (1, 2, brother hood, revelations, 3, black flag, unity, origins, odyssey). this is a critique on the whole franchise.

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 03:19 PM PST

Every single game above i have completed except AC 1(red ringed half way through) origins and Odyssey. i truly HATE, the direction the series is heading towards. to begin with we have the problem that they strayed to far from her root mechanics and now the games just are not the same. AC 1-3 were all fairly similar, with 4 basically being a pirate game and unity being a bigger more ambitious multiplayer game.

I didn't play syndicate or any smaller titles because i switched to PC and they didn't have them on there.

No the reason i hate the series now, the series which i have 100% all of the games except the most recent 2 is because its just not the same and is utter trash now. when i first played three i could go anywhere do anything and it was my skills that allowed me to do anything, in unity they made it better so that with more abilities and GREAT customization system making it so different armors could make my game play more tailored to be a sneaky bastard. Now in Odyssey shit i try and play stealth fully and "that enemy is to high level", "you were spotted once now let us attack all of the enemies with 1000000 health that you cant assassinate or easily kill because your a stealth build. you want specific armor tailored to how you want to play? well you can buy it from the store or, and hear me out.. you can wait for it to drop then right after words have to get new ones because the weapons and armor are under leveled. in a handful of missions your forced to fight head to head in a battle field with no way of being stealthy, at first i thought "okay ill just use arrows and run around a bit maybe do some smoke bomb shit so i can be stealthy and continue on with he game" BUT NOOO you run out of arrows and cant take down enough enemies. to often the strategy they force upon me is run in and fight the enemies head on because, unless i want to be WAY to over leveled i cant assassinate them, use predator arrows with a head shot to kill therm in one shot, nope I'm forced-to attack head to head, which when you have low armor and focus on a stealth build. kinda impossible.

the series to me has just gone to far from what made it great and what made the fan base grow and come to love these games. with all the ships and being forced into a more attack heavy build its just not the same anymore. I love the open world i like the mechanics of armor, its just if only they could actually make them for fit for all play styles instead of just run in with an axe and start swinging. the game just isn't what it used to be and is a shit stain on the name Assassins creed because its not a Assassins game its a warriors game almost all the time. in my so humble opinion i believe unity was the perfect mix. they had both stealth and head on. you could go and club some people but at the same time run around in the shadows and assassinate. now all i can do is just run around to armor stands constantly switch my armor so i can actually play the game.

if you think you know how they can fix the game or have any questions feel free to ask me. I've gave to many of my hours away to the franchise so i know some stuff of it.

If you made a movie about Ezio, who would you pick to play Ezio and why?

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 01:20 PM PST

Some guys are born to play certain characters. Kurt Russel as Snake Plisskin, Keanu Reeves as Neo, Ray Liotta as Henry Hill, etc. Now, in my mind, videogame characters are hard to cast.

The ones i know tended to be a miss, Max Payne and Hitman come to mind.

Now, i am a firm believer of the "Nathan Fillion was born to play Nathan Drake" Church, but what about one of my favorite characters of the AC franchise.

Ezio Auditore. Who would be a great choice to play Ezio? My girlfriend had the idea of casting Zlatan Ibrahimovic (which i could see even though he is kinda tall, his atitude and cockiness at least remind me of him), but other than that, i have no other person in mind.
