A few thoughts on AC:Odyssey's music from a Greek dude Posted: 13 Dec 2019 09:20 AM PST I love the game and most probably many of you too. I want to stress this subject with you all both because I like sharing my thoughts with a community of a game I enjoy, and also because I think my opinion and view on this subject can enlighten you and correct some views you might have. So, the music of AC:O is fine. It's actually very well composed, very varied and yeah, sound Greek. But not enough. And i'm not talking about the obvious heavy brass that you can hear in certain tracks, neither the new age synths added in there. I mostly refer to the Greek elements used in the soundtrack. The Greek interpretation of the game's soundtrack mostly applies to new age Greece. The use of bouzouki and the rythm patterns played mostly remind of a traditional modern Greek bouzouki player, like this one, where the images that the music should invoke, should be something like this and this. The music in general invokes a feeling of a party-like Greece were OPA and souvlaki and mousaka are the things going on. Now, there are a couple of soundtracks (like the Kephallonia one) that have a more classical Greece feeling to them, but the majority felt as mentioned. I'm pretty sure the game didn't aim to be a very close imitation to what Greece was back then, but mostly aimed to create a general Greek feeling that was not strictly appropriate to the time period the game was set on. For those curious, here's a piece of music that I time stamped that represents the time period the game takes place on. It creates that feeling of mystery, a land of mythological monsters, demigods and legends, and a land of philosophy, democracy, mathematics and olive trees, with people playing the lyra, and performing ancient ceremonies. You are put in charge of making your very own Assassin's Creed game. What do you do? Posted: 13 Dec 2019 04:39 PM PST What time period is it set in? How does the general story play out? What mechanics would be in it? [link] [comments] |
The AC protagonists must all have children pretty late in life, compared to their contemporaries. Posted: 13 Dec 2019 10:09 PM PST Since obviously you couldn't experience your ancestors memories after they produced the next generation, seems like the protagonists must be fathering children in their 40s at the earliest, since you often experience a few decades of their lives in the games. How do you feel about RPG in the Assassins Creed Franchise? Posted: 13 Dec 2019 09:46 AM PST After syndicate, Ubi decided to change it up and introduce the RPG element to their games. I personally don't enjoy it and I only have played origins a little bit. I'm just curious to see what people think about them going the RPG route? Leave thoughts down below [link] [comments] |
Rewatching AC2 and I think the Templar vs Assassin war needs to get back to its roots. Posted: 13 Dec 2019 01:01 PM PST Desmond lays it out pretty clearly here. It's about freedom vs slavery. Templars want to enslave the human race and assassins fight for freedom. There's so many good stories and settings for this theme. I hope Ubisoft writers make this the focus of the series. Posted: 13 Dec 2019 08:47 PM PST Spoilers, but you should already know what happens if you are able to answer this question. I killed Stentor but the quest list still has "the Conqueror" as incomplete and it still has "Kill Stentor" as the objective even though he just loads dead on the floor wherever I leave him. My last manual save before this was 7 hours or so of gameplay. At this point I am thinking fuck this game, I'll just hurry up and finish all the main quests and start a new game plus before moving on to the additional content. But if not completing the Conqueror somehow prevents this I'm SOL and have to reload that save and loose essentially 7 hours of progress. Side note: I'm surprised after so long they still have a potentially game breaking bug...this is why I don't buy games on launch dates anymore! Edit: So I'm guessing it's not possible because it won't even let me kill the spartan king...seriously what the fuck!? Ubisoft makes all these micro-transaction bullshit while leaving a fucking game breaking bug in this fucking game? [link] [comments] |
Assassin's Creed Symphony; is it good? Posted: 13 Dec 2019 05:25 PM PST I've bought tickets for April and I'm really excited for it, it's my first ever live action musical concert/show. Have any of you beautiful people been before and was it good? [link] [comments] |

How is exploration mode in AC Odyssey right now? Posted: 13 Dec 2019 10:56 AM PST I read back a few topics but all of them are older, and im not sure if Ubi changed something about "Guided" and "Exploration" modes. So what i gathered about the modes: Exploration is exhausting, hard, or annoying? It wastes your time? Or its actually fun to search for map directions? Im i right about this? I just got the game and gonna start it on the christmas holiday! [link] [comments] |
[POSSIBLE SPOILERS] Help me understand something about Desmond in AC 2 Posted: 13 Dec 2019 12:03 PM PST I played AC 2 around 2 months ago and my friend asked me: if you train in the Animus, will you get all of your abilities in real life? He's currently playing AC 3 and I basically told him the story of the previous games, as a recap of some sort, and I figured he doesn't remember the bleeding effect since he hasn't played AC 2. My answer was, and my theory is, there will be no physical changes in real life since Animus has uses genetic memories it doesn't have any effects on metabolism or homeostasis. In my opinion Animus mostly affects the nervous system, I connected that to the bleeding effect since Desmond was seeing Ezio's memories in real life with his own eyes and eyes are directly connected to the brain. Also, the eagle vision which desmond gets in the end of AC 1. The question is, What's the mechanism behind all this? [link] [comments] |
