    Death by Chicken AC Odyssey

    Posted: 03 Dec 2019 06:13 AM PST

I've dueled dozens of mighty bounty hunters, slain the gorgon medusa, the mountainous Cyclops', discovered my true purpose as the heir of memories with immortality, BUT the gods forbid i destroy a single thing around any chickens! For destroying a single silo can unleash the wrath of the chicken. After destroying said silo, i was attacked without being able to move by 5 chickens. Died almost instantly. The most legend of zelda feeling I've had in awhile.

Just finished Rogue. I think it’s my favorite!

    Posted: 03 Dec 2019 04:50 PM PST

So over the past year I've got rehooked on AC with Origins and Odyssesy. I had played pieces and parts of 1, 2, BF, Unity and Syndicate, but never finished any of them. I decided to pick them all up on PS4 and play them all with all the DLC. I just finished Rogue, and so far, it's my favorite of the ones I've played.

I like the Ezio storyline, but the controls were a bit archaic after Or/Od. III was an ok storyline with somewhat better controls, but the acting of Connor really bothered me. BF and Freedom Cry really was a leap forward, and BF was a great game over all, though I see why people call it a pirate game.

Rogue takes all the best elements of BF, adds in some cool new toys and collectables, and has a fantastic story and acting. The world is beautiful (as always) and the mouth movements are actually quite accurate. Shay is a fantastic protagonist, still showing compassion when he deals with his former associates, but still acts like a full fledged assassin when need be.

The ending of the story is awesome as well, tying directly into Unity, which I was already familiar with having played part of the game.

All in all, Rogue is probably the most complete AC game up to that point, from a mechanics and story perspective. I'm not sure Unity or Syndicate will be able to top it, knowing what I already do about them.

AC: Origins caught me off guard

    Posted: 03 Dec 2019 09:52 AM PST

I used to be a huge AC player back in the day, I played 1, Ezios, 3 and Black Flag (never finished that one) all when they came out but stopped after BF due to falling out of the sea life a bit. That cause a lapse in my Creed spree, and I didn't pick up the title again until getting Syndicate some time after which I played off/on though I did really enjoy it.

Well I just finished Syndicate a few days ago, really fun game. I had an internal debate on whether to play Unity or Origins and ended up skipping Unity, though I may go back if I feel the need to...

Origins is nothing like what I expected though. I hadn't realllly read up on too much of the changes after Syndicate so aside from accidentally swinging my sword when I try to run (R-Trigger) I was pleasantly surprised with the new combat controls. Then.... I opened the inventory and my mind was blown. I never realized the game switched to more of an RPG inventory aspect, allowing for more of a loadout feel than the other games I played. I can already tell this game is about to destroy my free time. Glad I went with the gold edition during summer sales for all the expansions and bonus loot. Got some cool outfits to run around in already and I love that the hood can be always on/off now.

The only thing that feels wonky right now is my guy is always sprinting lol. Is there a way to just not sprint at all times or is that a new feature?

Any tips for a new player that you wish you knew when you played/started?

What historic things would be cool if caused by the Templar and Assassin feud?

    Posted: 03 Dec 2019 06:32 PM PST

I think it might be neat if the story of Romeo and Juliet was actually the tale of two members of an Italian faction of Templars and Assassins falling in love, similar to what happened in Unity.

The main characters in Assassins Creed 3 and 4 were a lot younger than I thought they were

    Posted: 03 Dec 2019 12:50 AM PST

I thought Edward was in his thirties throughout the course of Black Flag and Conner was in his mid to Late 20's. I admit I was lazily following the dates, but Jesus the Kenways age very quickly Conner at the end of AC3 was about 25 and Edward was about 29 at the end of Black Flag. They age as well as JoJo characters.

    How big is this game?!

    Posted: 03 Dec 2019 11:52 AM PST

So I pretty recently finished the Main quest for Assassin's Creed Odyssey, and I have spenat over 100 hours on it. And I actually started to like the story towards the end to be completely honest. And today I checked how much of it I have completed, it turns out I only completed 32% of the game. I thought I hade atleast 65% completed. Like have anyone finished it to 100% ever? This game is so f***ing big!

How to play the Prologue again?

    Posted: 03 Dec 2019 12:21 PM PST

Assassin's Creed: Unity begins with an awesome mission.

On that mission you play as a Knight Templar and meet Charles de Molay, then an Assassin, Thomas de Carneillon storms into the fortress, so you have to chase after him and fight him.

The mission ends with Thomas killing you and Charles de Molay and the last of the Templars are burned at the stake.

But just how do I play that mission again? I read in a forum that you literally have to delete everything and start over. I don't want to lose my progress, some things were just too hard, starting over would simply suck.

Is there another way to replay that mission?

I was thinking of making a second account just for that, and then when I want to play that mission again I just delete the progress of that account and play again, if that's the only option, then how do I delete the progress of that account?

Thought: having more than one quest at a time in Origins/Odyssey

    Posted: 03 Dec 2019 03:29 PM PST

I played through the Ezio collection, AC3, AC Black Flag, AC Origins + DLCs, AC Odyssey, and currently I'm playing the Legacy of the first blade after having finished the Fate of Atlantis.

Since I'm level 72 now I thought f*** it, I'm not doing side quests. I always picked up a lot at the same time hoping I travel to the necessary points anyway and do the steps in parallel.

But god how much it feels better to actually just focus on the main story and having reasonable quest steps which I actually remember why I'm doing.

I think I should've done this with the side quests as well. Picking up another quest just after you said you'll help saving someone's relative just breaks the immersion. But looking at the map and all those quest symbols just made me feel I have to accept basically all of them.

Remembering back I think it was better in AC2-AC Black flag. There are side quests and activities, but as soon as you pick one up, that is your objectibe and you have no way to pause it for a different one.

I know that this could be just "forced on me" and play this way if I feel if better and of course everyone likes playing in a differenf way, I just thought let's share it and have a discussion.

Can someone help me choose HUD options in Black Flag?

    Posted: 03 Dec 2019 06:25 PM PST

Hey guys! I picked up Black Flag awhile back when it was given away for free by Uplay and am trying to get back into the series for the first time in years (since Revelations came out), but I'm struggling to figure out the HUD. All of the options are below with some explanation on my thoughts after like an hour of play.

    • Breath Meter - I haven't swam in game yet so I don't know if this is necessary
    • Crew Meter - I don't know if this is necessary as I haven't used it yet
    • SSI - I have no idea what this is
    • Health - Doesn't seem necessary due to screen/blood prompts
    • Mini-map - I'm keeping this on for now as I relearn the icons, but will probably turn it off down the line
    • Puppeteer - I can't figure out what this does
    • Tutorials - I'll probably keep this on for now as well
    • Updates - I have no idea if this is important or not
    • Weapon Indicator - I can't figure out what this does either
    • Character Icon - Why is this even part of the HUD? It seems pointless, and I have it turned off now

I tried to play HUD-free right out of the gate but I found it really hard to navigate around and generally couldn't figure out what I was supposed to do next. However, now with everything turned on, the game seems way too easy - during the first tailing mission in Havana, it would literally show me the enemies I'm supposed to be following through the walls with an icon over their heads. Plus I could see them on the map. Any help balancing out my HUD for a somewhat beginner or a better explanation of the options would be helpful. Thanks!

Is there any tips I should know for AC1?

    Posted: 03 Dec 2019 03:29 PM PST

I'm going back to play some of the older AC games, starting with the original. I'm not very far, but I'm feeling kinda restricted with my abilities. Things which are very common in the other games are not in this one (Like the Air Assassination) . Is there any tips for cool things I should know how to do?

I just got back into AC after not enjoying it for awhile!

    Posted: 03 Dec 2019 08:31 AM PST

So on Black Friday I purchased the ultimate bundle that came with AC 3 remastered and Odyssey with all the DLC! I am happy with the game thus far! Kassandra is a badass and the RPG style builds is super cool. However I do have a couple personal issues I hope a lot of the old die hard fans might agree with.

    1. I wish climbing meant something still. Scaling building is honestly what kind of made the game what it was. When AC 1 was introduced at E3 back on PS3 it was so highly coveted because the environmental interactions were never seen before. You used to have to climb building like a puzzle and figure your way up. In Odyssey I can climb entire walls and mountains with no footholds. I just hope they bring back the methodical style of climbing.

    2. I miss the parrying style it used to be. Kind of wish they would take the dodging and counter attack style that Spider-Man did with the mixture of what this game is doing right. This one is more of a personal desire. I feel this games combat system is doing so many things right with the RPG feel, but I don't want them to strafe to hard from what made AC such a unique game!

    3. Please please please let us fall in love with a character again like we did with Ezio. Would love a multi game arc of a character once again. I know this one is super hard and in no way am I blaming anyone for it because Ezio was just a character that everyone wanted to play as.

    4. And finally I would like to have puzzles brought back into the game to get cool armor designs again. I'm not bashing the micro transactions because that's just the industry we are in now, but those timed puzzle rooms were wonderful and would love to have them back. Along with those little hidden puzzles throughout the game like we had in the Ezio trilogy!

This was long and I apologize if this is all stupid ideas, but I feel like a lot of the old AC players would like a mixture of these. Thanks for reading if you did!!

Modern day : The assassins won't capture him [SPOILER]

    Posted: 03 Dec 2019 07:21 AM PST

Many of you believe that Otso Berg is going to be captured by the Assassins . That won't be the case though . Even if they wanted to gain information from him they could just take his blood and then use the Animus . Furthermore , if they wanted to prevent having him work with the Templars again they would just kill him . Moreover if they threatened the Templars to give them something , Abstergo would just let Berg die . Ps: He won't be the next protagonist as Aymar Azaïzia confirmed Layla's story will continue in game . Ps2:and yes i have played the Fate of Atlantis Ps3: even if they interrogated him he wouldn't say anything

Which historical settings do you wish were handled better?

    Posted: 03 Dec 2019 04:13 AM PST

I know Unity lately a lot love here and I think it's amazing in terms of gameplay and world but I still think they wasted the iconic French Revolution setting on a poor love story. Like it could have taken place in England and nothing would change (the British accents would at least fit lol).
