The next Assassin's Creed Game might take place during the Hunnic Empire. Posted: 14 Nov 2019 07:35 PM PST There was an unidentified Hunnic sage who lived during the 5th century B.C and he or she was an ancestor to Desmond Miles. An unidentified Hunnic Sage lived in Europe during the height of the Hunnic Empire in the fifth century. He was an ancestor of Desmond Miles. In 2014, Abstergo Entertainment discovered the existence of this Sage by researching Desmond's genetic material during their search for DNA samples of Sages. However, the company ultimately decided not to search for this Sage's remains because they deemed it unlikely they would find any intact genetic material. - Assassin's Creed Wiki It is indeed canon to the AC lore but there hasn't been any mention of a Hunnic sage in any of the other games apart from the AC Unity database (Database 07. Archived Conversation, 30 May 2014). Also, Desmond Miles's son, Elijah is a sage himself, so it would be interesting to see a game centered around the main character being a sage. Or the next game could have another one of Desmond's ancestors who was apart of the Roman brotherhood "Aquilus" but here's the link to that. And also, if you'd like to read up on the other sages that are canon here's the link to that page just in case the one above labeled "sage" doesn't work. Cheers! [link] [comments]
The perfect AC game/setting in your opinion? Posted: 14 Nov 2019 01:30 PM PST Unity's Parkour Revelation's ability to hire/train backup/fellow assassins and also deploy them to boost income. Rogue/Black Flag's naval combat. We don't want to get directly into WW1/modern gear because Ubi's already made it clear a modern setting just wouldn't work that well with the combat, and with the introduction modern firearms I'm inclined to agree. So, it should a tumultuous period in history where the assassins still have a good foothold and aren't falling from grace (See: Rogue/AC 3), yet also at a period where we could see them hitting their peak. My money is on the 7 year's war. It was essentially the first 'true' world war (Spanning just about if not every continent), earlier in history than Syndicate (by about 100 years in fact give or take), it's the closest one may find to a setting where large scale combat is happening where the Assassins and Templars would basically have all but utterly taken the gloves off. This would (in my opinion) be the point in history where both sides would be the closest to flying open colors in public battles and not fighting proxy wars as privateers or aiding local militia and/or government. What's your take? [link] [comments]
Dlc in Ac odyssey are amazing... but really Posted: 14 Nov 2019 07:26 PM PST I think Ubisoft have one of the most creative crew in term of design... I dont know how many they are but we cannot take that for them... I am totally surprised about the quality. If they can make the next Ac less repetitive for the annexe mission. It will be perfect... But the design in this game is totally amazing. I don't know if any other game push the level design so high. Especially for the DlC, I mean you have to recreate the atlantide, the kingdom of Adess, the elisee.. Well love this game... [link] [comments]
Where to buy AC statuettes for US? Posted: 14 Nov 2019 09:58 PM PST I am looking for statuettes of the assassins, much like Hachette partworks, but they only ship to the UK. Other places like Mcfarlane are okay, but I only see them on amazon but not their official store, plus their variety is very limited to including only a few characters. Anyone know anywhere where I can buy some good quality statuettes that ship to the US? [link] [comments]
Why can we not use shields in AC Odyssey? Posted: 14 Nov 2019 03:48 PM PST So I'm just over a dozen or so hours into Odyssey, and I found out that the game will not allow the ability to wield shields? Why? AC Origins had shields, and the combat was perfectly fine with it. I don't see why they couldn't continue the trend.
This could've still been done with the inclusion of shields. Giving players a choice to use or not to use shields would've been the obvious route, no? It just seems extremely counter-intuitive that a game with a Spartan-centric theme would not allow us to carry shields, considering the fact that shields were one of the most important things to a Spartan on the battlefield. The famous "Come back with your shield, or on it" line were engrained into the men.
This argument would work if it wasn't for the fact that other mercenaries you encounter in the game world also carry shields. They're not Spartan soldiers either, yet many of them carry shields anyway, so this excuse just completely falls apart. If it's gameplay mechanics getting in the way being the reason, such as there having no way for us to use abilities involving the spear of Leonidas without dropping the shield or our main weapon, then that's Ubisoft's fault for placing themselves into a corner. Is some flexibility too much to ask for? This isn't one of those nitpicks like people getting mad that we couldn't keep our hoods on in AC Syndicate. Like no, it's honestly baffling why shields are absent from selection. Because for a game that repeatedly advertised itself to be a Spartan fan's wet dream (they repeatedly highlighted the Spartan kick for a reason), one would expect that the game wouldn't forget about the elephant in the room. And as an RPG, most people probably bought this game to roleplay as a Spartan warrior, no doubt. This obviously isn't the end of the world for me, I love the combat and gameplay. But I'm simply confused about what lead to this creative decision. [link] [comments]
Lair of the Wolves 300 reference? Posted: 14 Nov 2019 12:07 PM PST Food for thought guys. I'm currently exploring Laconia aka Sparta in assassins creed odyssey. I came across a spot in the pass of the warriors region called the lair of the wolves. There's a alpha wolf there you have to kill. This got me wondering if this is supposed to be a reference to the opening of 300 where leonidas kills a wolf. What do you guys think? [link] [comments]

New hope for the next Assassin's creed game. (also speculation on AC Kingdom) Posted: 14 Nov 2019 01:26 AM PST As you know Ubi is really surprised to see their macrotransaction and repetitive game ideas between their franchises is really not work with us and has delayed most of the upcoming games. Imagine this(if it's going to be Viking setting): Less Grind. Hunting and Fishing to be a good focus. They have tons of sources for inspiration, God of war, Vikings the tv series, For honor(for loot) etc. I really hope they learn from all the mistakes they made and give us a better game. What do you guys think about this subject? [link] [comments]
Francisco de Miranda and his Assassins' Connections Posted: 14 Nov 2019 07:49 AM PST In some of my reading on history recently, I came across a fascinating historical figure named Francisco de Miranda. One thing I came to realize is that this one individual has connections to the majority of Assassin's Creed games through places and people he knew and events he was involved with! While the person most known for liberating today's Latin America from Spain is Simon Bolivar, the Bolivarian Revolutions would probably not have been possible without all of the groundwork laid by Miranda. Born in Spanish-controlled Venezuela, he eventually led the first significant armed revolution against the Spanish in South America, and had plans to eventually unify all of Spanish America from North America west of the Mississippi River all the way to the tip of South America. He was even the one to come up with the name "Colombia" for this massive American nation, from which the current country of Colombia got the name. The flag he designed for his revolution is the basis for the current flags of Venezuela, Colombia, and Ecuador. So what's his connection to the AC games? AC2/B/R: Miranda spent over a year in Italy in the 1780's, and traveled through Constantinople in 1787 on his way to Russia. Long after Ezio's time here, but he is said to have spent time in Italy conferring with Jesuits who had been expelled from Spanish America, who influenced his ideas about critical thinking and individual liberty. Miranda had been raised with a Jesuit education and was a voracious reader, which reminded me of the big emphasis on books and libraries in Revelations. I can't recall the Jesuits in general playing a big part in AC (please correct me if I'm remembering wrong!) but my impression of them has always been that with their emphasis on education and science, that they'd be at least sympathetic to the Assassin cause. AC3: Miranda not only was involved in the American Revolution as a Spanish soldier (he was part of the Siege of Fort Pensacola and a naval battle in the Chesapeake), but after the war he fled the Spanish Inquisition and lived in exile in the United States for two years. While there, he spent time with important people such as George Washington, Thomas Paine, Thomas Jefferson, and Samuel Adams, and reportedly his discussions with them further developed his ideals of freedom and independence. Over twenty years later he would call on these friendships and have private meetings with President Jefferson in 1805 to try to get support for his revolution in Venezuela. AC4: It's after Black Flag's time period, but in 1781 Miranda was sent on a mission to Jamaica (a BF location), then a British stronghold, to arrange a prisoner release. But while there, he also performed reconnaissance for the Spanish and acquired a fleet of ships with which he smuggled goods back into the Spanish territories! Because of his reconnaissance he also was chosen to plan a Spanish invasion of Jamaica, although this never actually was carried out. Years later (1806), Miranda spent time in Haiti, a major location in Freedom Cry; he acquired ships in Haiti to support his impending revolution, and it was on board one of his ships in Haiti that he first raised the flag of an independent Venezuela. AC:Unity: Starting in 1791, Miranda served in the French Revolutionary Army, and in Paris he was friends with Girondist notables such as Jacques Brissot and Jerome de Villenueve. Once the Jacobin faction became more powerful, during the Reign of Terror, he was imprisoned for a time before being ordered out of the country. One factor in his release rather than execution was a letter written in his defense by none other than Thomas Paine! AC:Syndicate; Since Miranda died in prison in 1816, he wasn't alive during the time period of Unity, but he did live for some years in London after he was exiled from France, where he had two children. The house where he lived during that time is now the Venezuelan Consulate! AC:Chronicles: Again, AC:Russia takes place long after Miranda's death, but Russia was very important in his story, as he was personal friends with Catherine the Great and spent time with her in Crimea (rumor has it that they were sexually involved!). Due to this friendship, during the later part of his time in Europe (roughly 1787 to 1791) he was under the diplomatic protection of Russia, which protected him several times from being extradited to Spain. Another bit; I recall that in AC3 we are told that the Freemasons built the tunnels under Boston and New York City, and we know that historically numerous Founding Fathers were Freemasons, including George Washington himself. Miranda was not only a Freemason as well, but he was also the founder of the London Freemason's Lodge "The Great American Reunion". Interestingly, a Freemasons' Lodge in London was used when filming the scenes there in the Assassin's Creed movie - except the Lodge was used as the Templars' Headquarters! A final interesting note; it's interesting the number of Assassin's Creed cities that have a statue of Francisco de Miranda: Havana, London, Philadelphia, St. Petersburg, and Paris all have statues of him; plus, his name is one of the ones engraved on the Arc de Triomphe (on the north pillar). For a further AC connection, his statue in Philadelphia is on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway! Anyone else think we are due for an Assassin's Creed game in South America? [link] [comments]

Why I dislike the characters' accents and the general language of NPCs Posted: 14 Nov 2019 09:42 AM PST First of all - I haven't played every title yet as I started with Origins and continued with Odyssey, Ac3,Unity und Liberations. So I can only relate to the titles listed above. By the time I played Origins my Internet was pretty bad and I couldn't (or at least didn't) download the german language pack. Therefore I just turned the subtitles on and played in english. As a result to the (imo) terrible accents I often turned the sound off and might have missed some good music. Because of this I was actually happy that arno hadn't got a french accent. Though I don't think that badly of the NPCs' language (I am talkking about those you can't interact with , just stand there and shout the same line every time you jostle them), I still think it is immersion breaking if the people of the same nationality as yours speak a different language. Lastly, I don't see a canonical reason why the animus should give any accents . Am I missing something here? What do you think about that ? The only discussions I can recall were pro individual accents ( depending on the setting) and contra British ones. [link] [comments] |
