    Realistic AC Game pls

    Posted: 10 Nov 2019 07:04 AM PST

Can we please for the love of God get at least a semi realistic Viking AC game please.

No I do not want to fight a Norse mythology monster I just want to go on a raid and kill kill Christians and sack towns.

For the audience who want a more mythology based experience ubi should just release a dlc where the MC goes to hel or asgard or something. Like they did with Origins the game I loved so much I got a tattoo of.

Please ubi focus on the parkour and culture of the Norse people who WEREN'T VIKINGS THEY WENT ON VIKINGS

Edit: can I just point out that I'M NOT A HISTORIAN Also these are MY wishes for the next ac game and If you disagree just remember that this is a random post on the sub basically a wishlist if you want to call it that

What would happen if you used an animus to go back to view your ancestor’s memories and in the ancestor’s memories they go to use and use an animus.

    Posted: 10 Nov 2019 11:33 AM PST

This is more of a hypothetical than a lore question,I don't really expect a solid answer but if someone can come up on their thoughts on what might happen that would be nice.
Also can no one please say animusception in the comments. Inception is beginning of an idea (planting it in someone's head) not the dream within a dream thing

    I’m actually really enjoying Syndicate

    Posted: 10 Nov 2019 06:09 PM PST

Been diehard assassins creed fan since Altaïr. Something about the whole series is just fun. I've heard people dragging down some of the games and I never saw why (apart from prevalent bugs). Sure some stories might have been lacklustre and others were a blatant money grab, but I enjoyed the free roam. (Modern day stuff was amazing to me until Dessy died. Kind of lost track of after him.)

So, since I flaired this as a discussion, what AC game do you just really have fun in? And why?

The truth is that we need a "Rockstar-like" Assassin's Creed!

    Posted: 10 Nov 2019 05:28 AM PST

Don't take it too seriously, i was thinking about how i love the concept of red dead redemption 2. That world is alive, the interactions between characters are insane. Everything is studied in order to give immersion. There's an animation for everything. And it's so realistic, it's violent. I'd like to have a structure like that in assassin's creed, and if it'll be set in the vikings time it'd be even more contextualized. I'm not saying that the gameplay should be the same, the rdr gameplay is very "heavy" and it's not suitable for parkour at all! And i know that having that care for detail is impossible. Rockstar works on his projects for almost 10 years. I'd love just the concept, that reality, that tangibleness. Without levels or limits. You're a guy, an assassin, who must face the cruel and unwelcoming world. I want this, i want reality.

    Thoughts on Origins so far

    Posted: 10 Nov 2019 08:48 PM PST

So after finishing Black Flag, I had the choice of starting Origins or Unity and I went with Origins. Now I'm not very far, level 14 or so and I just got to Alexandria. I've basically spent most of the time farming materials for upgrading the various items Breastplate/Quiver etc. So while I'm not very far in the story, I think I can offer some thoughts

It looks very nice, somehow nicer than Odyssey if that makes any sense.

I'm already more engaged with the story than I was with Odyssey. I'm actually invested in seeing Bayek kill the appropriate people where as in Odyssey not so much

I like Senu pointing out if people are sleeping/eating etc. I can go after people who are sleeping and take them out of the picture. I do miss the feature of marking treasure like Ikaros did. Also missing when Ikaros tagged someone you could tell what sort of enemy type they were.

I have a much harder time trying to locate those damned signal fires to sabotage. This has caused me great aggravation several times

In Odyssey I used the spear as my primary weapon. The spear is not as useful here. It's clunky..and just meh.

Fire doesn't like Bayek..there is no roll to put it out. There is only the void

    Cobras don't fuck around

I like the ability to hijack resource transports and ships. A nice touch is how the reed ships will sink if they are abused too much. Sometimes though I have no idea how I did it when Bayek has borrowed their boat he throws the previous occupant into the water.

    I miss engravings

Due to cancer complications I have a great deal of trouble with Bright and high contrast environments. So I have a lot of trouble visually when playing the game. The map is borderline unusable for me which is disheartening.

I think the Kenway saga is so good it could work as a film trilogy or miniseries

    Posted: 10 Nov 2019 02:40 AM PST

I think there's still room on the market for a good pirate story, and the narrative shift from Edward to Haytham and Connor and the retelling of the events leading up to the American Revolution is such a unique composition I think it could work really well as live-action. The relationships between the members of the Kenway family could take centre stage and be fleshed out even further than in the games.

I suppose it would have to use the IP and remain in the AC universe, though, since so many plot points in the games depend directly on the Assassin/Templar war and it would be hard to write around.

how tedious is it to 100% the Ezio trilogy?

    Posted: 10 Nov 2019 08:44 PM PST

Only AC games I've 100 percented have been Rogue and Black Flag. Despite the large amount of collectibles, they were actually kinda fun since the islands and settlements were interesting to visit/explore, and the side quests (and even the 100% objectives in missions) were actually pretty fun.

I've been thinking of doing the same for the Ezio games, since they were some of my favorites from the series. However, the literal hundreds of chests, flags, and/or feathers in 2 thru Rev is very discouraging. Is it really as tedious as it seems, or is there some fun to be had in running around the map searching through every nook and cranny for trinkets?

    Assassin's Creed Symphony dress code?

    Posted: 10 Nov 2019 01:35 PM PST

I'm going to the symphony tonight and I'm wondering what the dress code is. It's a symphony so I assumed black tie event, but it's for a videogame so I'm unsure now. If anyone went before and could let me know that would be great

Did you like Layla as MD Protagonist?

    Posted: 10 Nov 2019 04:48 AM PST

What did you guys think about Layla as Modern Day Protagonist?

When she was introduced in Origins I was very happy that we got a MD Protagonist again after years of playing as ourself. Her introduction wasn't perfect but Desmond also need more games to evolve his character. But after Odyssey I have mixed feelings about her. Her Story has taken a strange turn and her writing was terrible in this game. I don't wanted a Desmond copy but I think that the Devs really need to look back at the Desmond Saga and the writing of the Modern Day in general.

    SOLVED

    >! so I'm doing the fate of Atlantis quest, I'm at the part where you recruit the heroes, everything here is done side quests and all, found the thief, helped phiobe...etc according to searches I've done it shouldve triggered in the lost in found side quests but that quest ended once phoibe went to Elysium, does it have to do with what I told persephone when she asked me who I want back or do I trigger it by doing something else? !<

How is Ezio's hidden blade retracted?

    Posted: 10 Nov 2019 01:36 AM PST

I understand it's basically a more complicated switch blade, and I know those mechanisms are very simple singe springs with a catch at both ends. It seems well understood he uses a string attached to a ring on his hand to deploy the blade, I grasp that too, I've built a simple one before. What I want to know is how does he pull the same string to make the blade retract? Or perhaps there is a button or lever he can press? While I'm asking questions, the blade deploys as two parts a bit like a toy lightsaber. How would I go about making one deploy both parts of the blade and lock them both open, and then retract the both? I know how to make a single blade deploy in a switch blade but not a blade within a blade. Thanks I know this is scatter brained it's very late. Building a cosplay and while I will use a replica from Ubisoft out and about, Id like to build a real metal one for here at home.
