Assassins Creed Vikings Should Include an Exploration/Traversal Skill Tree, Climbing is Boring Again.

    Posted: 07 Nov 2019 12:44 PM PST

Edit: A skill tree doesn't need to be about levels and points. Unity is mentioned plenty in the comments, years nobody mentioned that unity also had a skill tree of sorts, blocking off certain abilities by Sequence.

It's completely doable. I hate that Arno can leap of faith before training with the Assassins, for example. Doesn't make any sense. If you hold that for sequence 3, it feels that much more EARNED.

    OG post:

Climbing has been dumbed down since Unity, and I'm not sure why. The game featured the best climbing and parkour in the series.

Origins and Odyssey has made great improvements to exploration, but climbing is as simple as holding a stick forward. Boring.

Instead, why not add an Exploration Skill Tree?

Have the player start by only knowing to climb certain buildings, having to learn how to/upgrade:

    -Leap of Faith

-Climbing up boulders and run through trees

-Using lifts and zip lines on the run

-Parkour off of objects (vaults, flips, etc)

    Other upgrades can be:

    -Harvest more materials

-No fall damage (LOVE the flip, maybe add new ones? )

-Your Eagle can automagically target the most nearby object (Type of animal or resource, treasure, etc)

If the game is going to place an emphasis on Exploration, I want to feel my character gradually become better at it. In Odyssey the protagonist can climb any surface and survive any fall from the getgo which felt really...unearned.

If a future game were set during the Roman Empire/Republic, would you like to see naval exploration?

    Posted: 07 Nov 2019 09:28 AM PST

I'd like to explore the whole Mediterranean. Go to Sicily, Corsica, Balearic Islands, Sardinia, Crete, etc.

Oh Ezio, how I miss thee

    Posted: 07 Nov 2019 03:50 PM PST

I really miss how in Ezio's game part of the economy was rebuilding Monteriggioni, Rome and Constantinople. That needs to make a comeback in future games. I would like for them to even take it to the next level and make a customizable home base of sorts

For those playing the Ezio Trilogy

    Posted: 07 Nov 2019 10:03 PM PST

Playing Brotherhood with the Florentine Noble Attire is actually really cool. I went into it thinking I wasn't going to but when I tried it it was very immersive. Social stealth becomes very realistic and you really feel like an assassin when you blend with everyone else wearing normal clothes. Just my 2 cents.

I would like to see Assassin's Creed: Rome playing in different eras of the state

    Posted: 07 Nov 2019 02:50 PM PST

    Salve fratribus,

I would love to see an AC in Rome. Time of Julius Caesar and Augustus perhaps?Maybe with a start in the time of the first republic around 500 b.c., then to the war with Karthago in around 200 b.c., then skip forward to Caesar and Augustus?Who else would like to play in ancient Rome, Gaul, Egypt, Greece, Brittanica, Germanica, Asia Minor and Africa...?I sure know about Odyssey and Origins taking place in Egypt and Greece, but at different eras. They could make it in the way the series Rome had been adapted, so you play a legionaer, a soldier in the roman army.

Opinion on an Assassin's Creed TV Series?

    Posted: 07 Nov 2019 08:13 PM PST

Hey, I was wondering. I know the AC movie kind of failed, as probably by expected by AC fans (I'm not really that big of an AC fan). What's your guys opinion on a TV Series tho? You think an AC Series could work? Yes? No?

    Now Playing: Assassin’s Creed: Revelations.

    Posted: 07 Nov 2019 10:50 PM PST

Made it to the final game of the Ezio trilogy. Constantinople is awesome, but the game experience is too much copy and paste from Brotherhood. Reminds me of Call of Duty. Same game, different packaging.

I will still play through the story. Have to see my good friend, Ezio through to retirement.

If they did a Viking themed Assassin's Creed game, what would the naval combat be like?

    Posted: 07 Nov 2019 07:44 AM PST

From what I know, I don't think Vikings ever engaged in naval combat. Their ships didn't have cannons and the all or most of the crew members would row at the same time. So I don't think they would be shooting arrows or javelins in the game. I actually wouldn't mind for there to be no naval combat, it'd be nice for once to just be able to explore the seas in peace.

Is a videogame whit a good combat system and parkour considered a Assassins Creed ripoff?

    Posted: 07 Nov 2019 02:47 PM PST

Is a videogame whit a good combat system and parkour considered a Assassins Creed ripoff?

I'm doing this question just for fun, but imagine if someone made a completely free videogame whit similar gameplay to Assassins Creed but without hidden blades or the Assassins VS Templars thematic, I mean, something like Assassins Cred 3 but whit just the secondary missions for example, not Assassins Creed 4 or Roge since the boat mechanic would be hard to apply on a game, and yes, AC Black flag is superior to AC 3.
A crafting system would be completely optional, but an economy like AC Unity or AC Syndicate would be nice.

I found these links interesting for this concept:

How to Make a Game Like Assassin's Creed in Unity3d #1: Building the City

Crafting System Unity #1 - Recipes

dangers could be a kind of replacement for the hidden blades

Basically, I have many ideas, but a game like this would be too hard to be made into the point of not being worth making.

But again, it's just for fun.
This hole thing is meant to be made in Unity by the way.

Favorite and least favorite shanties in Black Flag?

    Posted: 07 Nov 2019 03:21 AM PST

My favorite is a tie between three: Bully in the Alley, Leave her Johnny and Randy Dandy-O. Drunken Sailor is good too, but it gets tiring after hearing it as over and over again.

I don't really have a least favorite shanty, since I haven't played black flag that much.

Ubisoft should adapt or remake the Juno plot from the comics and make into a TV series to give us some closure and modern day content

    Posted: 07 Nov 2019 02:31 PM PST

While comics are a cool medium and I certainly don't intend to criticize the writers of them, quite the contrary, I think that Uprising should be adapted into a limited series or an annual series to give closure to the fans.

Besides, modern day assassins and historical stabbing is always awesome so the show could draw casual viewers as well.

Start by slowly introducing the lore for those who don't know AC and then develop the story for a final Juno showdown.

If you could or didn't want to make it in the games, a tv series is the next best thing.

Make it philosophical, action packed and cinematic and you got a winner, plz, ubi.

Or just give us a few million dollars and we'll do it

It should be around 16 episodes or so.

    Differences on the Ezio trilogy

    Posted: 07 Nov 2019 01:33 PM PST

Can someone tell me what are the main differences between the original PS3 games (II, Brotherhood and Revelations) and the Ezio trilogy for PS4? Are the controllers different in the way you jump while you are doing parkour? Anything that anyone felt would change the experience even a little? I am also wondering if the Ezio trilogy will come with all the DLC contente. Thanks

    (Odyssey) Ultimate Weapon Combo?

    Posted: 07 Nov 2019 12:50 PM PST

I get HUGE Damage output with Arachne's Stingers with "Weapon Dmg becomes Fire Dmg" engraving and my second weapon with the "+100% Dmg but 25% Health" engraving.

Why has no one spoken about this anywhere? Its super deadly and even if you like Warhammers, you could easily do the Poison Dmg perk with the Mallet of Everlasting Flame, depending on your playstyle?
