Odyssey feels more like a fantasy game than the rest of the series

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 07:17 PM PDT

    Anyone else agree with that?

AC always had fantasy elements I guess with the Pieces of Eden but for some reason each game until Odyssey still felt more grounded. Odyssey for some reason feels less like a historical game and more like an ancient greece fantasy game

I really hope the next game has more of a grounded historical vibe, that was the whole appeal of the franchise

What if Shay became a Black Cross and went around killing all fake Templars that just want power?

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 05:48 AM PDT

That would have been a sick sequel, just killing Templars and Assassin's, and delving into philosophy more ( if Darby McDevit wrote it). I would 200% buy it.

Pitch Your idea for the Next Assassin's Creed Game. What features would You add/remove? Setting? Old AC Style (AC1-AC:Syndicate) or new AC Style (Origins and Odyssey)?

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 12:15 PM PDT

I personally love all the games. Favorite is between Unity and Origins, currently.

If I could contribute or even suggest a AC game that I think would be fun and amazing, this is what I'd like to see.

I would love to see Old AC Style (especially the camera distance, with Unity Parkour and customization, with some Odyssey RPG elements. Would love to see a RDR2 weather, graphics, and and social and economical interactions. Keep the story as beautiful as the Ezio Trilogy.

I'd add more but I'm eager to hear what You all would do.

No Rude, childish, and disrespectful comments. Please be civil.

    AC:Origins weapon upgrading question

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 04:33 PM PDT

    Hi all,

just started playing the game, I am on lvl 12 atm and enjoying it a lot. I have the DLC packs, so I started the game with multiple legendary items (outfits, The Fang sword, Vox Populi, Divide et Impera etc.) My question is whether its worth to upgrade those weapons as we go through the game or will I find better stuff along the way? I havent upgraded anything yet, but those weapons are starting to fall behind in damage since I am lvl 12 already (but I havent rly found anything better yet, mostly just blue and purple items with crappy stats, but obviously much better damage).

TLDR: are the weapons from DLC packs that good that its advisable to just keep using them and upgrade them say every 10 levels, or its complete waste of money and just use w/e I find on current level?

    thanks in advance

The difference between modern AC and The Elder Scrolls: Without non-combat interactions, the world feels dead

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 06:49 AM PDT

In TES you enter a town, someone will be near the town entrance, you'll engage in dialogue with said person, maybe they'll tell you something about yourself, or maybe about the town.

Then you go to the local pub, you talk with the pub manager, he tells you gossips about the abandoned house near town or the local landlords. Some guests are drunk around, you can talk to them and know them better, some will cause trouble, some will start new quests, some would just tell a little story.

Then you'd go in town and maybe you'd witness a crime, or listen to someone talking with someone else with information about a valuable thing. Or maybe see a family in front of you. And you can talk to them and know more about the town and their lives. You can follow them around and they have their little life routines and they all make sense. They sit at the table at 9:00pm. And you're welcome to join them.

    -- Meanwhile in AC

High decision geralt, high decision geralt, says the dancing marionette, who also gets spooked when you get close. He falls down, then gets up and starts dancing to inexistant music or raising his arms to the sky. With nothing new to find, you move on to the new settlement, but the story never changes. They're just pretty boxes with silly marionettes.

They really need to work on the depth and feel of the worlds.

    Returning to older protagonists.

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 09:22 PM PDT

Is it possible that in future games they return to older protagonists? I mean has Ubisoft officially denied this or something? I can think of at least 5 characters who could easily get a sequel.

What are your thoughts on an assassins creed set subside Mexico.

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 12:01 PM PDT

I have two ideas on how they could handle it.

1 - set it during or after the Spanish colonization of Mexico, this is the most obvious solution and would lead to what could definitely be a fun game while exploring Latino culture.

2 - set it during the Aztecs or Mayans and reveal that the assassins found the new world before the Europeans and Christopher Columbus. It would be a fun reveal and definitely be interesting to see the assassins interact with the Aztecs and Mayans.

    Assassin's Creed animus pack

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 05:51 PM PDT

    Hello,

I'm not sure if it is the right place for it but I wanted to know if it is worth it.

I only played the first one and loved it, I don't have any of the games.
Are the dlc and the deluxes or utimates version worth it ?

161 euros for it seems to be alot but I'm thinking with everything in it must be thousands of hours. I wpuld only buy the first one with the ezio auditore pack otherwise, which would be ac1 + ac2 + brotherhood and revelation.

Let me know what you would do.

    Thanks.

Thoughts on a AC set during the Moors invasion of the Iberian Peninsula?

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 02:48 PM PDT

Think of it, the time period hasn't been explored in the series yet. Neither has the location. You could be able to have naval fights in the Strait of Gibraltar. Being able to cross between Europe and Africa would be incredibly unique. The cultures of the people haven't been explored either, you could be a Muslim assassin following the invasion killing the Templar's calling the shots. Or Order of Ancients depending on lore and shit. I feel something like this has a lot of potential.

An idea about new game mechanics

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 08:48 AM PDT

I am playing AC:Odyssey at the moment and something really caught my interest.

Assuming we want to play hardest difficulty. As far as I saw only difference was combat difficulty which did not improve AI but made them hit harder and get tougher. However, as long as you are not much lower level than they are silent assassination will almost one hit them. So only thing you have to do is hide, learn their path then take them out one by one.

It is not that hard only time consuming and kind of boring, in my opinion. I just took over a castle, it took me some time but I just waited patrol guys to go to a location of castle/walls that no one can see, then pull them while hanging from that wall.

My main issue was I killed nearly 1/3 of the castle in same spot, one by one.

Now, I don't remember this in other AC games either, but when you try to infiltrate a place, let say a castle which has plenty guards, patrols etc. Shouldn't they be suspicious if someone was missing? I mean think about it, one by one 1/3 of the castle disappears at same small region of the castle and no one notices? I thought if they find a body, trying to torch the logs so they can call aid was a good touch. Still, something feels missing. Just talking to my friend and this is what he told me; "Pick hardest difficulty, all you have to do silent kill/assassinate them".

How do I purchase DLCs for older AC games?

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 04:45 AM PDT

I'm starting a completionist run from AC2, and noticed that I can't find any DLC for AC2, ACB, ACR, and AC3 in the Uplay store. Are they permanently removed or is there a way to purchase them through third-party stores?

I'm based in SEA if that matters.

Assassin's creed Chronicles, India - I rather enjoyed it.

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 01:32 AM PDT

A long time ago, I found Assassin's creed India for free on my xbox. So I installed it. I went into the game, and was at first disappointed, and did not want to play it.

But I forgot to delete it. And a few weeks ago I randomly started to play it again. Now, I'm a bad player. Some of these levels took me an unreal ammount of time. But I got through, and I enjoyed the challenges the game gave me. (Although I never understood the helix ability system) The story was short, simple - but it was Assassin's creed. A sassy likeable main characther, and beautiful level design. I am considering buying the two next games on my xbox and try them out, Russia and China. Honnestly - this game was better than Odyssey as a Assassin's creed game. And it was so nice feeling the classic game type - yet in a different way.

Have you guys played it? What did you think? And do you think I should get the other games?

To those who have played both Alexios and Kassandra, what did you do differently?

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 06:22 AM PDT

For example I play my Alexios as someone who acts on his feelings and is forgiving while I'll play my Kassandra as someone stricter and one who focuses on justice (example: I'll kill the ones who stole the spartan food while with Alexios I spared them)

List your favorite Assassins Creeds games in order

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 03:23 AM PDT

My favorite Assassins Creed games in order from best to worst are: 1. AC2 2. Black Flags including Freedom Cry 3. Revelations 4. Rogue 5. Origins
    6. Odyssey 7. Brotherhood 8. AC3 9. AC1 10. Liberation 11. Syndicate 12. Unity

Assassins Creed 2 in my opinion was a masterpiece. The crème de la crème if you will. It drew me in right away with the amazing cities burgeoning with life, a phenomenal soundtrack, and lengthy yet engaging story. But the icing on the cake was Renaissance Venezia, absolutely beautiful.

I'm not gonna lie, Black Flags was my number two because of... SEA SHANTIES. "Are ya ready boys?" Plus sailing from island to island with your own ship as a pirate was a bonus.

Odyssey is No. 6 on my list because it's not as bad as everybody says. I'm slightly biased because I love Ancient Greece and studied it closely in my spare time.

AC1 was low purely out of the fact that it was a little too old to stand the test of time. I still have soft spot for it and had a great time being introduced to the series by it.

Unity... what can I really say. I never beat the game because I bought it on release and we all knew how that went. A giant, buggy mess. The British accents in France really irritated me. Story never really drew me in and Paris felt really cookie cut. Multiplayer was a nightmare and even with mics on no one would listen or try to be stealthy. This is the only game I actually don't like out of series but even that doesn't mean I can't appreciate the setting of the French Revolution.

P.S. I'm replaying them all currently which mean I will be giving Unity another shot. So who knows, maybe I will love after I beat it.

    Assassins Creed and Watch_Dogs

    Posted: 02 Nov 2019 03:53 AM PDT

Hello, as I am sure you all know it is cannon that the watch_dogs and AC games take place in the same universe. With WD legion kicking off in London which is too my knowledge the current home base of Abstergo (sorry if spelt wrong) and therefore the Templars how will this effect the AC franchise especially given that in all likely hood the goal of that game will be to overthrow the government/corps in charge (most likely templars). Is it possible that the two games could begin to overlap more, Ubisoft must have considered this upon making the game right? Generally just curious as the thoughts of both the fans of AC and WD.
