What setting would you like to see a new game set in?

    Posted: 01 Aug 2021 05:35 PM PDT

My friend and I discussed it and here are some of our ideas.

Genghis Khan era Mongolia with Khan as the antagonist

    Vietnam War (definitely a stretch)

Ancient Japan (not unlike Ghost of Tsushima)

    Ancient China

    Aztec, Mayan, or Incan society

possibly a future setting in a city not unlike the lower levels of Coruscant in the Star Wars universe (probably a stretch)

West Africa during the Empire of Ghana

Texas breaking away from Mexico (The Alamo, San Jacinto, etc)

What are some if your ideas?

I'm really not a fan of timed content like this current festival

    Posted: 01 Aug 2021 08:12 AM PDT

I know there's some event on now that has content that will disappear as soon as the event is over, but to be honest, I'm not even going to play it.

My attitude to this stuff is 'If the content doesn't belong to me, to play whenever I want to play the game, even at some point way down the line, then I'm not interested in it'. It might as well not exist.

Maybe it's because I was a gamer before all this kind of stuff came around, but anything less than a game that I can buy, own and play whenever I want, from start to finish, I don't like.

Or maybe it's because it can sometimes take me more than a year to complete a game, and I like to play through it at my own pace. Life already gives us enough timetables and schedules, now we HAVE to play video games at certain times so we can get access to certain content? Seriously, take a hike.

I would love for this kind of thing to disappear, or at least to become easily repeatable, if they're going to insist on these "live-service" shenanigans going forward.

If Every God In Mythology Is An Isu, Which One Would Be The Weirdest.

I'm going for Tezcatlipoca, Aztec God of Night. Since his name means "Smoking Mirror" and he was able to see the future with one, I can imagine his prosthetic foot being a P.O.E. that involved seeing the future.

I believe that Ubisoft should go back to the old style of assassins creed.

    Posted: 01 Aug 2021 08:23 PM PDT

Ok so the games they have released recently were good, but the stories feel somewhat rushed to me. I liked the way Ubisoft set up Ezio's story between 3 games and they should go back to that style. I liked following the character through his many adventures across Europe, now it's a new character every time. Why? They could flesh the characters out so much more, and give them more depth. Show how they've changed over the course of the games and how each event molded them into who they are now gradually. In the new games it feels rushed. Even if the games are slightly shorter.

Which AC characters did you absolutely despise? *Spoilers

    Posted: 01 Aug 2021 01:11 AM PDT

Which characters from the series did you absolutely hate? Here's my list.

    1. Rodrigo Borgia (AC 2, AC Brotherhood) - He gave the order to murder Petruccio and Federico even if he was only after Giovanni. He did that just to prove a point and make a statement.
    2. Uberto Alberti (AC 2) - The way he sentenced the Auditore family to death while denying the existence of the documents that would have proved them innocent was absolutely despicable.
    3. Ivarr the Boneless (AC Valhalla) - He killed Ceolbert in order to instigate a conflict with King Rhodri. Ceolbert didn't deserve to die. Ivarr was a bloodthirsty idiot who only cared about glory in battle. He was willing to put everyone in danger in order to attain glory for himself. I denied him Valhalla and I have no regrets in doing so.
    4. Dag (AC Valhalla) Dag blamed Eivor for everything. He got in over his head and accused her of trying to steal the throne from Sigurd. Eivor was dealt a bad hand and she was genuinely doing her best to make things work. Dag should've known better and he was wrong to blame Eivor for everything. I felt no remorse for Dag and I denied him Valhalla. He betrayed the Raven Clan and his death was his own doing.
    5. Charles Lee (AC III) - He was ruthless and sadistic. His speech about not allowing Connor to die until he's seen everything that he loves burn to the ground is just sickening.
    6. Ed Thatch (AC Black Flag) - He was a ruthless pirate that deserved to die. I felt no sympathy for him after he held innocent people hostage at Charles-Towne.
    7. Flavius Metellus (AC Origins) - He killed Khemu and showed no remorse for it
    8. Berenike (AC Origins) - She ordered Shadya to be drowned.
    9. Pierre Bellec (AC Unity) - Bellec was a fanatic and a radical who murdered his own Mentor. He also tried to frame Elise, who was innocent.
    10. Taharqa (AC Origins) - He tortured his own father-in-law and cut out his tongue. He invited Bayek over to his house, poisoned him, and left him to die in the desert.

AC4: Who is “DM” and “RL” in the Database (possible idea/solution).

    Posted: 01 Aug 2021 07:30 PM PDT

We already know that "OG" is Oliver Garneau and "ML" is Melanie Lemay. But no idea for "DM" and "RL".

I've looked for an answer in other Reddits, and the AC fandom website, and I've concluded that it may be possible that these initials are self inserts for two Ubisoft employees: Darby McDevitt and Raphael Lacoste. (Edit: missed one; "JM" perhaps Jill Murray?)

As (while I know the Fandom websites can probably be wrong) they appear in the employee list in the "Abstergo Entertainment" webpage here:

    https://assassinscreed.fandom.com/wiki/Abstergo_Entertainment

Now while I may be wrong. This is my best guess, and, at least the initials match.

Historian Analysis of The New Update

    Posted: 01 Aug 2021 06:07 AM PDT

Historian here! Did some research on the new seasonal update, and I've found that this seasonal update is by far the most historically accurate we've seen yet.

Yule and Ostara had some historical nods, but Sigrblot displays a great amount of research and understanding of this Norse tradition. The detail is in the settlement design additions, dialogue, and overall theme of the update. Curious to know what else you guys might have noticed.

AC Valhalla's Stealth continues to be garbage

    Posted: 01 Aug 2021 03:08 PM PDT

I returned to Valhalla this week for the one handed sword and ended up taking another shot at the mastery challenges. After 9 monts of updates, one DLC and another one just around the corner stealth is still incomprehensibly broken and there is no way to defend this (seriously, if you think this is acceptable you have no standards). Enemy detection is basically reduced to on/off in these challenges, they either spot you instantly you or they don't see you at all, there is no room inbetween. I even ended up reporting this to customer support (with tons of video evidence) and after some unhelpful replies such as "the team is working on improving the experience for everyone" they just straight up admitted to me that they don't know either wheter or not the devs intend to fix this or not (they most likely won't as this issue still hasn't made it on their list of known issues). Stealth has been an issue since day one and it's just heartbreaking to see how Ubisoft chose to ignore all feedback coming from the playerbase, including members of their own Mentor's Guild. Siege of Paris will bring back Black Box missions, but with stealth this broken this just seems like a sleezy marketing gimmick, just like the return of social stealth and one hit assassinations. Ubisoft treats the core fanbase to these games like garbage and I'm getting tired of giving my money to a company that keeps disrespecting me.

Does Black Flag’s Season Pass work for PS4?

    Posted: 01 Aug 2021 08:00 PM PDT

I loved this game and really want more story/campaign. I don't play online. Aveline, Freedom Cry, and Illustrious Pirates all seem to be story related DLC but I can't download them and don't see them mentioned in the Season Pass at all.

I feel like Assassins Creed BF should be remastered?

    Posted: 01 Aug 2021 04:12 AM PDT

Now that Ps5 and Xbox Series X/S are out, I feel like Ubi should make a remastered version, I'm replaying it on my Ps5 and I can tell that the graphics are outdated and the physics engine is a little broken. I'm just saying this bc Black Flag is my favourite assassins creed IMO

Guys, I'm at level 23 and the game led me to the Crocodile quests, which are 28 and I can't get past the arena. I'm trying doing side quests to level up, and I started a quest for my level and inbetween it changed to 28 too. Im kind of lost, how to level up fast?

Has Any AC Game Brought Up the “Two Perspectives, One Mission” Concept Since Liberation? (Spoiler for Liberation)

    Posted: 01 Aug 2021 08:06 AM PDT

In AC Liberation, main protagonist Aveline is tasked with assassinating a person in New York that could help lead her to the Company Man, the figure she had been hunting the whole game. When she gets near the fort, she meets up with Connor, the main protagonist of AC III, who supports her mission by creating distractions for her. However, after you complete the memory, you are given access to an optional memory where you go through the same mission, but this time as Connor. This memory's gameplay is quite different from the parkour and stealth heavy Aveline memory, focusing more on battles.

These two memories got me thinking. I have played AC games where I've played as someone different from the main character, but I don't know if any other AC game has played with the idea of going through the same mission as two different people. Does anyone know if this concept from Liberation has been brought up since 2013 (when it was released)?

Would you guys be interested in a Darius ac game?

    Posted: 01 Aug 2021 08:52 AM PDT

I know the community doesn't really have a good view on odyssey, the game where we met Darius, but wouldn't it be interesting to play as Darius and actually get to experience his story before he got to meet Kassandra and actually get to kill Xerxes ourselves? I feel like Ubi can make an insane game around this legendary Assassin, and make it so it includes the order of the ancients more than odyssey and valhalla did. I know that people would like to see an ac set in japan, playing as shao jun, which sounds amazing but i feel like Darius was left out and didn't get much attention, since he is seen as a memorable assassin throughout the brotherhood (the fact that he has a statue in the auditore villa next to other assassins).

Do we need to "bring back" Ezio?

    Posted: 01 Aug 2021 04:06 PM PDT

I know very well that Ezio is a primary favorite for many players. He was charismatic, handsome, cared about his family and was generally badass. I'm not trying to say that he is a bad character. But I also don't think he deserves as much attention as the other games gives him.

I have only played II, and I know barely anything about Revelations and even less of Brotherhood so I will express my opinion through II.

From the very first moment you control Ezio, he is seen as a gifted child, a prophet (which Machiavelli literally tells him). He rarely makes mistakes, which isn't always bad, but when he does it's quickly forgotten. The only major mistake he made was sparing Rodrigo Borgia.

He is driven by revenge throughout the whole game, he admits it himself once he reaches Borgia. He meets fellow assassins who have also been betrayed by Umberto/Borgia, although they want to help him exact his revenge rather than telling him it's not worth it.

Yes, he lost his father and brothers and I would probably go through the same thing Ezio does if that happened to me. But revenge is a weakness in many cases for characters, it only shows that they care about blood. Ezio's arc in II barely changes, only when you start Brotherhood.

One thing I need to get out there is.... Ezio's Family isn't the official theme of the Assassin's Creed franchise. Yes, I do like the theme but it should only be associated with Ezio's story, not anyone else's. By having constant references and appearences of the Italian assassin kinda cheapens his character and story. He already has a TRILOGY. And one animated movie of him.

We should leave him be already, he made a great impact on the entire Order and yet I think it is unfair to worship him like a Messiah. We have enough of Ezio as it is.

I am very bad at putting my thoughts onto paper, but if you want more in-depth commentary about Ezio I suggest you watch Youtubers "That Boy Aqua" with his video on AC 2 and "Alien Platypus" with his only video on AC Origins (you can skip to the part where he talks about the theme song).

After all this time, I finally have finished every region. My thoughts.

    Posted: 01 Aug 2021 01:58 PM PDT

I've just completed every region as of 10 minutes ago, and boy did it feel good, but at the same time, it felt kinda like a waste. I really do wish there was more than just an achievement for taking the time to go and collect the hundreds of wealth, artifacts, and mysteries around every map. At least maybe a cool armor set, or weapon, or something more than just an achievement. This whole experience makes me wish that Ubisoft scales back the amount of things you have to do in the open world in the next AC, because it gets tedious and very tiring after awhile since you're tired of seeing the same region for longer than you need to. Which also reminds me that there is an achievement for completing all region is Francia in the Siege of Paris dlc. I'm definitely gonna enjoy that. /s

This one writing inconsistency in Wrath of the Druids is grating on me

    Posted: 01 Aug 2021 01:37 PM PDT

Obviously as the games have gotten larger and moved away from the original concept they've taken more liberties with historical accuracy. Valhalla makes a lot of the typical pop culture Viking-related design decisions but then there are things like language and architecture where their usual attention to detail shines.

So it's especially grating on me now that I'm starting Ireland for the first time that, while as far as I can remember the base game always uses the word "viking" in its contemporary verb form, all the sudden all of the dialogue in Ireland is using capital V proper noun "Viking" — "my Viking name," "us Vikings were beaten," and so on.

Just wanted to rant about that somewhere.

What is Bayek's best outfit in your opinion?

    Posted: 01 Aug 2021 11:13 AM PDT

    Hey everyone!

I've played all AC games except Valhalla (and non main games) and I'm lvl 32 in Origins atm.

I've always held Ezio in high regard (I sobbed in Revelations and had problems letting him go haha) and no protagonist was as good as him in my regards. Loved Kassandra though because... I'm a woman haha.

But FINALLY having a chance to play Origins I can understand why so many people have it in high regard. The game is REALLY GOOD (I don't know, the pace reminds me of the older days) and Bayek is a really interesting character! I like his stance regarding everything and I must confess it feels good to have a protagonist with a partner (and they're so lovey dovey haha).

Anyway my babbling aside, which one is your favourite Bayek atire? I always use the one with the snake head (I forgot the name) because it's a bit more mysterious and assassin-ish.

Where Will Assassin's Creed Go Next? Here's an Idea

    Posted: 01 Aug 2021 11:56 AM PDT

It seems Assassin's Creed has covered just about every great ancient location there is. Or has it? If AC plans to continue with Isu/First Civ story line, I think I have the perfect place for the next AC game. The Mayan Empire in South America. They have pyramids and ancient ruins that wpuld be perfect story telling for both their mythology and the First Civ story line much like with what they did Origins and Odyssey.

Where should Assassin's Creed go next?
