Assassins creed origins, odyssey, and Valhalla are like the Star Wars sequels

    Posted: 08 Apr 2021 09:12 PM PDT

This is probably gonna be the weirdest things in the subreddit especially if you haven't watched Star Wars but this is kinda of cool coincidence which I noticed. This is mostly how the rpg trilogy is treated such as

Assassins creed origins - Star Wars force awakens

People sorta thought that it was solid intro to the new trilogy but sorta saw how the thing was sorta of took elements from the old ones such as (force awaken compared to new hope due to a droid meeting the main character) and (origins involving killing a sort of order because they killed one member of your family such as Ac 2).

Assassins creed odyssey - Star Wars the last Jedi

Fans sorta loved or hated this thing. One similarity was how it was made by different people ( different studio for Ubisoft and different director for Star Wars). It would also drop some plot lines and create some random new ones.

Assassins creed Valhalla - Star Wars the rise of Skywalker

These two things would try connecting the previous two titles and try making a fitting story. Also a cool coincidence is how it would be the same people who would make the first thing in the trilogy such as ( same director for force awakens and same studio for Valhalla)

Hopefully this was a cool read y'all enjoyed it.I just thought it was a cool coincidence .

Started Valhalla last week and am having a blast. Here's some Eivor fanart

Here’s the fully upgraded stats for every single piece of equipment in Valhalla, barring stuff from the Animus Store. Nobody else would do it, so I had to. If I somehow missed any, tell me and I’ll work on getting that on here

    I really want a Mongolian Assassin's Creed

    Posted: 08 Apr 2021 05:29 PM PDT

Just to start off I only recently got into AC with Valhalla so my impressions of the best AC game consists a lot of free roam and pillaging.

But I was listening to throat singing yesterday (dont ask why lol) and I realised how much I wanted to explore Mongolia with Genghis' armies and burn down villages. Also somehow throat singing sounds like Viking Skalds and could make galloping across Mongolian plains on horseback pretty cinematic.

Syndicate: 3/4 Thames points of interest. Has anyone found the last one?

    Posted: 08 Apr 2021 01:53 PM PDT

I've done absolutely everything in Syndicate and the map, when sorted by "misc," shows 3/4 points of interest for the Thames. It looks like the number has probably been wrong since launch and there never was a fourth one, but has anyone since then managed to find it?

Note that I'm referring to the location markers that correspond to database entries. Thanks if anyone knows the answer!

    Altair in the later games

    Posted: 08 Apr 2021 11:27 AM PDT

Altair was the foundation for the games aswell as the foundation for the brotherhood as we know it and in the later games it's almost as if he's forgotten. After the ezio trilogy he is barely mentioned and it's kind of disrespectful imo he paved the way for the brotherhood if he hadn't decoded the apple of Edens secrets the brotherhood wouldn't be where it was.

Who the Hell Decided to Add Flails but not One-Handed Swords

    Posted: 08 Apr 2021 03:28 PM PDT

Just started playing Valhalla. Could not roll my eyes farther back into my head when I came across my first flail.

The historicity of ball-and-chain flails are dubious at best. Little evidence exists to suggest they were historically used as a weapon at all, and no evidence exists to suggest they were used on a wide basis. This goes for every culture and civilization across history.

Beyond that, a simple mace would be cheaper and easier to make, and would have more striking power anyway.

And if that wasn't bad enough. The flails in this game are the worst type of flail. A "proper" flail should have the length of its ball and chain be shorter than the length of the handle, so the ball can't smack you in the hand. The flails here have chains at least twice as long as their handles. So not only will it smack you in the hand, but it can smash you in any other part of your body too.

I could overlook this if not for the fact that they left out the most widely used type of weapon in this time and place (except maybe spears): one handed swords. Especially with the one-handed seax being a unique and iconic weapon of this era used by Saxons.

I know one-handed swords are coming in an update, but this is just shameful.

Can you solo play Unity coop missions in peace without randomly disconnecting?

    Posted: 08 Apr 2021 08:00 PM PDT

This was my first ever attempt at coop missions because completing them all probably gives you at least a quarter of total Skill points and happened few hours ago when I was doing solo Heads Will Roll mission and at the part where you have to kill 3 specific Templars it randomly quit the mission. Then I figured it will boot me out of PSN as well but to no avail.

Should I do the collectibles while playing the story?

    Posted: 08 Apr 2021 11:07 AM PDT

This is how I'm currently playing the game:

I finish a certain region story arc(Ledecestrescire for example) and doing all the collectibles right after finishing the story arc.

I am currently 64 hours in, currently in Sciropscire, and I feel like I should finish the story before doing all the collectibles.

Should I continue this way? Would it be better to save the collectibles for later?

I feel like I'll lose the interest in story but I love collecting wealth, as well as doing all those mysteries.

How about an AC game in Carthage ?

    Posted: 08 Apr 2021 10:13 AM PDT

Hi everyone ! I've been searching lately for people that are craving for a new breathtaking AC game. I just wanted to know first how many people would be interested in a game that will take place in the mighty Carthage. If we can find people sharing the same interest, we will maybe find a way to be Ubisoft's new breathtaking idea ! 😁 (PS: i could have made a poll, but i don't know why i can't)

I'll discuss (or at least try) of all the good reasons Carthage should be the place of a new AC game.

AC Syndicate Doesn't Want You To Parkour

    Posted: 08 Apr 2021 02:42 PM PDT

So I just started playing AC Syndicate and I just got the grappling hook. For some reason it feels like the game is trying to make you not want to traverse across the buildings like all the other non RPG games. The horse and carriages are so much more efficient and fun to travel with, and when you are made to cross the rooftops, it is so much more simple to just grappling hook everywhere.

I didn't even mention how much of a downgrade Syndicates parkour feels like compared to Unity's. What are your thoughts on it?

An Idea for an Assassin’s Creed Japan

    Posted: 08 Apr 2021 07:56 PM PDT

This is a general idea that I came up with while listening to a fan made Japanese Ezio's Family.

My idea is to show how the Assassin Order got introduced to the Far East and how it might translate differently because of cultural differences. The protagonist could be a ronin who was betrayed by his master, a shinobi or a daimyo, because of a secret organization that 'worships' Orochimaru trying to rule Japan behind the emperor's back. Now where the Assassin/Templar comes in is that shortly into the story, about the equivalent of when Eivor arrived in England, the ronin would encounter a group of foreigners trying to make an alliance with this group of worshippers but instead get slaughtered. The ronin would search the corpses and find a Templar cross on them before being jumped by a couple of Assassins. At first they will assume the ronin is a Templar but when they realize he has no idea what a Templar is they ask what happened. He tells them and the Assassin's will assume this group could be allies but the ronin would unsuccessfully try to warn them of the danger this group poses but because of the language barrier they don't quite get what he's saying. They go on ahead while the ronin stays behind trying to figure out what is going on between them and the Templars when he hears the Assassin's screaming. He finds them near death and now understanding that this group really is dangerous and give the ronin a scroll with the creed and a diagram of the hidden blade on it before passing on. The ronin at this point could give the Assassin's a Japanese version of requiescat in pace that would be used in all the assassinations in the game.

Over the course of the game we could see the ronin adopting the creed (effectively it becomes a replacement for a master where he pledges himself to the creed that fits both in a cultural way and an Assassin way) and the equipment in a Japanese fashion, effectively making a group inspired by the Assassin order but also distinct since it would be combining techniques from the order, samurai and ninja to take down the evil group of the story. At the end the group could be eradicated but thanks to the ronin and his recruits he gains over the course of the story it allows the Templars to finally set foot in Japan to start ruling it from the shadows.

This could be fleshed out more but it would require knowing an exact time period and knowing more about the historic culture. My main thing was to have a story that bridges the 'not an Assassin' stories we've been playing with being one again. I chose to have the protagonist be a ronin because they are essentially a disgraced soldier and that seems like the kind of person who would adopt the creed as a new master to answer to. I also wanted the antagonists to not be Templars because I would think even when Alfred reforms them there have to still be protoTemplars out there and show what happens when one doesn't want to join the Templars at all and becomes a threat to both groups.

    Any thoughts on this idea?

AC Revelations Den Defence, what if I don’t?

Ezio's story is my favourite and his games are the only ones I've really put the effort into collecting as many outfits as possible, getting all the achievements and weapons, and getting 100% synchronisation. But, I hate the whole Den Defence thing in Revelations. Honestly I would much rather let the Templars capture the dens and then I can sneak, fight and kill my way back into taking the dens. I assume this will hurt my synchronisation, oh well at least the game will be fun while I do it, but will it prevent me from progressing the story past a certain point?

I've just passed where you can actually unlock the armour of Altair and want to know what point in the story I should try get it (don't worry about spoilers I've watched story videos and stuff on this for ages so I know what happens)

If someone somehow held me at gunpoint and asked me my top 5 game trailers, all 5 would be from Assassin's Creed. (Then I'd assassinate him with my hidden blade, of course)

That's how much ambition and potential this series has. The cinematics are without doubt the best I have ever seen. I'd even have trouble ranking them, as they are all top tier and fantastic. But if they guy with the gun gets impatient, it would go something like this:

    AC Unity

    AC3

    AC Revelations

    AC Black Flag

    AC Origins

Special mention to AC Brotherhood, AC1, AC 2, AC Rogue, AC Syndicate, AC Odyssey(maybe just Odyssey), and of course , AC Valhalla( maybe just Valhalla), but wait that's... all the games. Huh.

    My Thoughts On River Raids

    Posted: 08 Apr 2021 03:54 PM PDT

    Hello everybody it's a Kawa a here!

Today I wanted to talk about the River Raid Update Assassin's Creed for Valhalla and what I think about it.

I should say this is a repost from something I have already posted on the Assassin's Creed Amino.

"But Kawa that game has been out for so long now it's almost as old as the first Assassin's Creed lol. Why are you doing this now?"

Well first it's not quite as old as the first Assassin's Creed, but it needs a Remake just as badly. And second I wanted to give it time to see if anything was going to be done for it before I gave my judgement.

So let us begin from the start. As I recall Ubisoft prior to the launch promised us an highly replayable update with good enough content.

When I thought a little about this I imagined that this game mode would give us motivation to play it and a very strong reason besides just being fun. Because being fun makes it playable, being motivating makes it replayable.

This as we all know, did not happen. We have three new locations on the map, in those locations we can raid for foreign supplies, which functions as a new currency, and for a new set of gear.

The gear, oh the gear. I love it. It's beautiful, and I am so sorry to have upgraded it to the max. Now it has that ugly red cape. But that's beside the point. What I want to say is that the gear is fun and all, but it is one. It has nothing to it besides being preety. It seems a Thegns armor reskin at some upgrades more than others, but that is it.

The foreign supplies are used to build two new buildings and buy some things at Vagn. What things you ask? Tattoos and ship parts. What do you do with it after you buy all the tattoos and ship parts? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Then what is the motivation for this thing? After I get all the armor pieces and all the supplies to buy what Vagn is selling why should I play this game mode more?

    I shouldn't and I won't. And most of you don't.

When I heard about this update, although I am not really into the Viking fantasy as much as I am into the Assassin fantasy, I was excited. Not because I was going to repeatedly burn down some village and military camps, but because I thought that what I gained from those raids would be worth my while.

Let me be clear about it. In the next paragraphs I am going to fix this update and show just how easy it would have been to make an "highly replayable" content in this game and let's go!

LOCATIONS One thing I should address is the fact that this map seems very big for just three locations in England. That makes me believe that we will at least see more locations added for Ireland and France, in their respective DLC's.

However these three locations could be better. When I look at them they all are different and show different parts of the British land. Only these different parts of the land are inhabited by the same people. Where are the Picts and the Britons? They already exist in the game and we barely see them. They are confined to these tiny places on the map and I would love to see more of them instead of the same Saxons every time.

How I would this is by having every of the River locations inhabited by one of these factions and add diversity that way. Plus I would also love to see sometimes a small military camp or village being taken over by bandits.

ECONOMY We needed a better way to get money in this update. Although by playing you get plenty of money, you don't get a lot of resources and if you want to upgrade your entire gear pieces you are going to have a long time. You could make that process easier by spending some of your money into ingots and resources but that would quickly drain your silver. Trust me I tried it.

So is there something that currently is being hoarded without any use whatsoever that could be sold to get money and maybe get our gear in better conditions quicker? Well maybe we could use our foreign supplies! This is something that I honestly have a really hard time figuring out why it isn't in game already. Maybe imagine when you visit Vagn you have the opportunity to trade your supplies for whatever he is giving you, or you could sell it for silver. This silver would allow you to progress through your game a lot easier. Instead of getting to grind out locations that give you little money

One other thing I need should be improved is that the minor chests do not get reset. What does this mean? It means that once you have oppended one of them it will not fill itself by the time you next to to that location. It's weird that happens when all the other chests do reset, and the other loot forms do as well. These should reset. I should be able to get more runes and resources, other than the pitiful amount we get by looting corpses.

GEAR AND ABILITIES There are three abilities to find in the maps. After you find them all their places remain unfilled forever. I propose that most of the times this could remain empty, however sometimes I believe it should give a book of knowledge, granting one ability or mastery point, and other times there should be a map, pointing towards a chest that spawned in that same playthrough. Its rewards could be around 150 supplies, the normal being 50, or maybe giving both supplies and rations. Another reward could be a slightly higher chance of the thing I'll mention in the next paragraph.

Lastly I think that Reda is bad. The whole 10 opals a day from his missions is garbage. It very few payment for the price of all of the items in store. So I would propose that sometimes in the chests you open there is an infinitesimally small chance to get one of the store items. I believe that way these items are much more fairer to get comparing to what we have now.

So what do you think about my ideas? Do you want to play the River Raids now? Do you want to hire me Ubisoft?
