Imagine a map of 1920's NYC that rivals Victorian London and Revolutionary France. You play as an Assassin that is a WW1 vet turned gangster. You meet historical figures like Al Capone, Hemingway, Fitzgerald, J Edgar Hoover, Joseph Kennedy Sr, and NY Governor FDR. You learned that WW1 was masterminded by the Templars who want to form a world government in the guise of the League Nations. That failed so now they are orchestrating a global economic crisis that will start another World War. Maybe you'll play a flashback level in the trenches. Maybe get the chance to fly a plane around the Empire State Building like in King Kong. Have a mission where you bootleg booze in the Atlantic from Canada. Explore Chinatown and Times Square. Attend a Gatsby party in a mansion. Maybe meet jazz musicians, boxers, and football stars. Probably the closest you can get to the modern era. A Jazz age game would be sweet.

I feel like an Assassins Creed game taking place in the Scottish Independence Wars would be amazing.

Having your main character be under the command of William Wallace or Robert The Bruce would be a really cool thing to see. Much like AC3s George Washington although hopefully have it done much better than that game done. Seeing the creed form in a place of the world that we've rarely seen would be really cool. Fighting on the battle for Stirling Bridge would be awesome. Just food for thought although since Valhalla's came out the likely hood is even lower than it would've been as the eras would be very similar.

Ubisoft should have spun off Black Flag the way Call of Duty did with the Modern Warfare brand.

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 05:07 PM PDT

Honestly, I was more surprised this didn't happen. Rogue was a nice entry, the gameplay was a small upgrade to Black Flag, but the story definitely did not come close. Some will point to Skull and Bones, but it seems Skull and Bones will only be the half of Black Flag which takes place behind the wheel of a ship, which is like turning GTA into a pure driving game without the ability to exit your vehicle. Personally, I would love it if Ubisoft continued making games using the Black Flag build of AC as a template, and just upgrade it across various settings the way Bethesda does with its RPG model. Hell, I'd even pay to see that gameplay model in an open-world pirate fantasy RPG, with all the depth of a Bethesda game. Whether they keep it in the AC franchise or not, Black Flag's gameplay model was too good to leave behind. It could even be expanded upon, letting the player not only command one ship, but in which they can literally build their own fleet, and take the wheel of any ship type you like . Imagine upgrading and commanding a Man-o-War and taking on a small fleets, or commanding your own fleet against an enemy fleet, initiating boarding actions to add ships to your fleet. They could even visit moments in AC or actual history, like the naval actions of the Napoleonic Wars, pirates of the Barbary Coast, or some more of Connor commanding the Aquila. Black Flag's gameplay deserves to be a series of its own.

[Spoiler] Cairn Stone Dialogues from Assassin's Creed Valhalla

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 02:44 PM PDT

Recently I was trying to find the dialogues that play about young Eivor during the Cairn Stone challenges. However, I couldn't find anywhere online which curated all of them for easy reading. So I went through and tried to find as many as I could. And I thought I couldn't be the only person out there looking for something like this, so here you go!

I've found that many of these provide a lot of context into how Eivor grew up as well as why they had become so fixated on getting revenge

Rosta: "So, go on. Try it yourself." "Eivor, come! Stand here and look out over the fjords, hold my hand, there you go."

Eivor: "Whaa! I have never been so high"

Rosta: "Your father brought me here long ago, when we were just nineteen winters. Together we stacked stones into cairns."

    Eivor: "These?"

Rosta: "Yes. Think of this as a test of mind and wit. Stack the cairn stones high and wide, into any shape you like.

    Eivor: "How do I win?"

Rosta: "You win by playing, and a quite mind is your reward. Let the air and nature's beauty soothe you."

Sigurd: "You are quite good at this, these cairns. Better than me, that I admit."

    Eivor: "Yes"

Sigurd: "This one is your masterpiece. A monument to the gods. Now bask in their glory and receive their honor."

Eivor: "The gods rarely have honor."

    Sigurd: "Well"

Eivor: "They never live in peace. They hardly bat an eye at jealousy, rage, and madness."

Sigurd: "yes, yes … they are perfect."

    Eivor: "Come, Father, this way!"

Varin: "I am here, I am here"

Eivor: "Look. I made this myself, my tallest cairn yet"

Varin: Ah yes. Your mother said you had taken swiftly to the stack-of-stones. This is impressive

Eivor: "And it can stand hard against the winds as well. Watch!" (blows)

Varin: (laughs) "A burst of blue-air that blows to rival Njord's noisy belches! Well made, Eivor. But know this, height is not the only trait of a cairn's beauty. Shape, balance, and expression are key. Seek a variety of these. Let your only goal in this task be to surpass your own best creation."

Eivor: "The sound of stones falling upon stones is nice. They click and clack so well."

Sigurd: "I prefer them as skipping stones. The wish and the sploosh! Watch!"

    Varin: "Sigurd, stop that."

Sigurd: "Did you see that? How far it went? A giant's arm I am! The strength of the gods!"

    Eivor: "That was mine."

Varin: "You know better than to take what is not yours, Sigurd. Must I tell your father how badly you behaved today?"

Sigurd: "Say what you like. He would not believe you!"

Varin: "He would … and then he would pitch you into the sea, and invite me to drink in his hall. Be warned."

Eivor: "Sigurd, can I have that stone?"

Sigurd: "No, I need it for my tower."

Rosta: "Sigurd. Your father tells me you have a love-pledge with Sefa?"

Sigurd: "No, not anymore. She called me a whale-face and I spit on her foot. Those are not words a lover should use."

Rosta: "Does Sefa know that you have severed your bond with her?"

Sigurd: "She does. I told her to find another drengr. Then she cried. I do not why. Sadness can be so silly."

Eivor: "Your meanness will haunt you one day, Sigurd. I would never betray you."

Sigurd: "Because we are friends. In love, hurt is different from that of friendship. Lovers must betray one another, as the sun rises and sets."

Sigurd: "No, no, use that stone. Eivor, use the large one. There."

Eivor: "Do you like the snow, Sigurd?"

    Sigurd: "I suppose. I … I accept it."

Eivor: "I love it. I wish it could gather under my skin, surround my bones, and cloak me in silence, just the way it quiets the land."

Sigurd: "Snow like arrows? The skald in you speaks! I admit, it does calm me down some."

Eivor: "If everyone sat and watched the soft, chunky snow fall, and said nothing … nothing at all, we would all be happier."

Sigurd: "Snow makes for a poor plowing bed. That's what I know!"

Rosta: "Eivor, did you hear? The king will visit tomorrow. Sigurd will be with him."

Eivor: "Father told me, but I cannot play too often with Sigurd. He always steals my stones and calls me troll-tooth"

Rosta: "I can think of one way to fluster him. Use all of these stones for your next cairn. He'll have none for himself."

Eivor: "I could build the largest cairn he has ever seen. He would be so jealous."

Rosta: "Take these. Make him smile."

    Eivor: "Yes."

Rosta: "And did your father mention Gunnar's arm ring?"

Eivor: "No. Not that I remember."

Rosta: "Speak with your father tonight. He has a special task for you."

Sigurd: "Eivor … I hoped I would find you here. You seem well. Your wounds have healed quickly. I heard my father talking to the others. He said you were his child now, so … so that makes me your brother. You are welcome to this family. Now we will grow together, and feast together, and scamper over the snows together. I hope that pleases you. It pleases me. What is it you are building now? Two homes? Or … a hill and a mountain?"

Eivor: "This is my father Varin. And this is Kjotve the Cruel"

    Sigurd: "Ah"

Eivor: (Scream) *knocks down the stones* (Crying and grunting for 20 seconds)

Sigurd: "Lean on me. I will lead you home."

Eivor: "Are you referring to my father?"

    Sigurd: "Am I what?"

Eivor: "What you just said. Was it about my father?"

Sigurd: "I said nothing. We have been silent since we came here."

Eivor: "Liar. You did, just now. As plain as you're talking now."

Sigurd: "You are mad. What did I say?"

Eivor: "A coward believes he will live unto old age if he stays clear of strife, but old age will wither him fast, though he be untouched by spears."

Sigurd: "I said nothing of the sort, troll-tooth! That is the All-Father whispering into your big head."

Sigurd: "Eivor? Eivor, you bacraut (asshole). I know you hear me."

    Eivor: "What?"

Sigurd: "Do you often think of your father?"

    Eivor: "Yes."

Sigurd: "Do you believe him a coward?"

Eivor: "He is a coward, as everyone says. And now he lives with Hel. Her servants Slow and Lazy, her curtains Dire Luck pulled across his bed.

Sigurd: "You should win back the honor he lost."

    Eivor: "I will."

    Sigurd: "I know you will."

Eivor: "Describe it for me, Sigurd … Valhalla."

Sigurd: "Ah, well. My father says the walls will drip mead, your fingers will sing, and your feet will grow wings! Jewels will fall from the mouths of wolves … butter jumps from barrel to bread."

Eivor: "And the mud smells of lavender. I heard that once."

Sigurd: "Yes. And when your eyes command rain, it pours hot drops, your smile craves sun, the clouds part like curtains. Bloody, shiny, unbreakable Valhalla … one day our slaughter-reeds will guide us there, my Eivor."

Eivor: "And my father will not be with us. That much I know for truth."

Freedom Cry has the best mission in all of Assassin's Creed! Freedom Cry Spoilers

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 02:12 PM PDT

So I am doing my first ever marathon of Assassin's Creed, so please no spoilers for later on in the franchise. I just completed memory 8 of Freedom Cry, and by the gods is it the most moving and enhancing mission I have played in the series so far!

For any that don't remember, this mission sees you freeing slaves from a slave ship, but the escorts end up firing shots at the ship, leaving It to almost sink. You go through an emotional journey of liberating/freeing these slaves from drowning, but as you go, you are unable to free the majority of the passengers, leaving them to drown.

This sequence is truly emotional, and reminds you that for all the good your doing, is it truly helping the people? Previously, before setting sail, you are told that the French are being far more harsh and evil with their slaves, ever since Adewale started liberating them.

I highly advise any Black Flag fans out there to play Freedom Cry, it is by far my favourite DLC so far and the whole thing feels like a better, but smaller black flag!

Couple of questions going from Valhalla to Odyssey

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 09:19 PM PDT

Just finished Valhalla a couple of days ago and downloaded Odyssey to play next. I only played about five minutes but after doing the opening fights as Leonidas, i had a couple of questions. Is it possible to completely change the controls to match Valhalla? Dodging seemed to be much better defensively in Valhalla but it doesn't seem that great in Odyssey. Is parrying the way to go in Odyssey? Thanks.

AC Valhalla - A depression simulator? (My Review) [Possible Spoilers!]

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 08:13 PM PDT

AC Valhalla - A depression simulator? (My Review)

I played ACV. Yes, I did. After watching my grandchildren praise this game I finally stopped playing Valheim and installed ACV (I am Ubi+ Subscriber).

Starting the game I thought what a nice background snow crunching. This game must have a lot of snowy-scenes in it (which I personally really love), but later on this.

    I. Preamble.

The start although not so much action-laden like Odyssey is interesting and sets the character motivation and general idea where the game should go. Even so it is really REALLY a very unmotivated and stupid death of Eivor's parents, but hey, interns script-writers have to start somewhere, even if it is an AAA title in one of the biggest game franchises ever.

Setting the first 1,5 hours (for me, remember? I like exploring and snow) game-introduction aside, we sail to England (finally). And a big sigh of relief escaped my lungs. The only moment I really smiled was when Sigurd arrived and a wheef of friendship spreads over the monitor. Even so for only 15 seconds. But I really loved this moment. It is.. ..a perfect one!

In England the situation is clear: Build, conquer, help, get what you must, repeat. Very strong World of Warcraft feeling comes up. Specifically Warlords of Draenor DLC. I know, I know, there are tons of different base-bilding games out there and so on and so forth, but WoD has the exact same mechanics and plunging a knife into a table with a map and PICKING the actual part of the map for conquering is almost identical to the WoD and then even more to Legion and the later Battle for Azeroth. Don't believe me? Watch the gameplay of picking a part of the world to conquer/re-build. But enough, every gaming franchise plagiarises as much as possible, be it due to the lack of ideas or any other reason.

    II. Critical history annotation.

Being an ELITE VIKING COMMANDO we already have a lot of weapons and armour of the kings to crush, kill and destroy (no pun intended, for those who know what I mean). Why of the kings? Pretty simple. Vikings had a very clear understanding of the weaponry and its value. The poorest of the warriors for example couldn't afford anything better than a pike (it was the most common weapon). Wealthier warriors had axes and the richest could even afford a sword. Yes, sword. Swords were very expensive and a special type of 'loot' and needed a lot of training to be used, too. So you had to be 1. in a good shape and 2. very rich to have a sword. Last, but not least most of the vikings (I simplify this word a lot here, but looking at the game-history-lore in Valhalla it doesn't matter much) had leather armour. Again a wealthier warrior could afford chain-armour/chain-'shirt' over the leather and even simple plates of metal on it. To watch Sigurd wearing the same type of clothing as most of the others is as painful as staring at the sun for several hours. How in the Odin's name could a JARL wear the same shitty outfit as a mere foot soldiers. Well, ok, his father wears rich clothing with a single medallion on the chest. But did you know that vikings thought so much about their looks that they put all the possible and impossible I-am-rich-as-f*ck-features all over their armour and most often on their belts? Sadly, I didn't see anything like this on Sigurd. Would it not be for the game to introduce him as the FIRST IN COMMAND I would never think of him as a Jarl or someone in higher position on the food chain here.

Speaking of riches, did you know that simple candles were very expensive, too? I would even be so bold and say that only the most wealthy people like noble-men and rulers/kings could afford to have and even burn candles and even though they did it mostly for studying and when having important guests (again to show how freaking WEALTHY they are). The simple folk could only afford an oh so simple oil-burner. And what did I see here? During the introduction I stroll through the market near the longhouse where dirty peasants sell every kind of stuff and a simple wench in ugly clothes has this beautiful pack of candles on her table. All the big candles put neatly in a wooden box. And you will see this so damn ofthen through the entire game/playthrough.. Are you kidding me? Ubi, what the actual FUCK? Didn't you know such a simple fact? Tell your game designers that candles are not a interior/exterior decoration, but a historically important indicator. And also tell them to stop watching 'Vikings' (the TV series) so much as this show is historically in-accurate in many aspects, too. I simply cannot endure this anymore. Stop f*cking claiming to be a historically precise game (I know, it is not so obvious, but they pretend pretty much everywhere to be it). Oh my.. This is getting out of hand. Now back on-topic.

III. Pros and Cons (not a full list, you don't want me to re-tell the game, dontya).

Back to the viking-commando-Eivor, the being of two genders (so very SpEcIaL and noone gets offended, right?) with the stamina of a 12 years old.

The game pace is slow. It is painfully slow like the mead with 99% of honey in it. Yes, there is a lot to discover. Yes, the scenery is one of the most beautiful ones I've ever seen in games.

Be it on the PS of my grandchildren or my very old computer with only a gtx970 in it. The game runs smooth. So smooth I wondered how it could even be possible on so old hardware, but it runs. Even on high settings. The stable 45 FPS feature we all know from Odyssey is a godsend and does what it must: Stabilise the FPS. Thank you SO MUCH for this, Ubi. Your engineers did a brilliant work on it. Once again: One of the best features I've seen in games when tweaking the graphics!

Game mechanics didn't change much since Odyssey, but had a lot of small adjustments here and there and are more intuitive now. Giving all the pieces of the UI bit by bit, but in steady and OK-portions. And here we again come to the game pace. New functions are 100% bound to the parts of the game you play thus constraining the game experience due to these very parts. Do you want to change your horse? Build a stable. Do you want to hunt bad boys? Build a house for the random assassin. Why random? Because you as a player, you do not really care about Hytham. You simply don't. Although one the most important Assassins-introducing characters in game, Hytham is a mere placeholder for someone to say 'Bla, bla, League of Ancients, blabla, importance, blabla, Hidden Ones, blabla, go kill the bad guys' And you think to yourself: Are we finally done here? Let me open that menu, please.

No, really. I think that tutorials and certain menu-objects, bits and pieces should be introduced as the need arises, but we are not 10-years olds (and even those know what's going on by now) and we do not need such long introductions. We've seen it before, we know what to do. Make it quick and sharp and let us on the action. But all this talk talk talk. Is it some kind of talking simulator or an action game, my ass..

    About the River Raids.

Enter the game mode with no particular gains for your main game. Feels like a free DLC which was to be released as a bonus content to cheer up potential buyers, but ended in the game at the initial game release. Could be an interesting way to earn resources to upgrade your base, but hey, why don't we bring another useless currency (alongside the other 1000000000 currencies already present in game) and do not let the player use it everywhere, but only in this specific game mode. Wow, what a creativity and generosity, thank you, developoopers. Best move ever. And this game mode is a substitute to a real normal multiplayer experience? Oh, wait, we can pick our friends' hand made Jomsvikingr here? Oh, I am sorry then, it explains a lot. Best multiplayer mod ever (since mobile phones games were introduced). And what about customising your Jomsvikingr? What about giving some of them bows, some of them heavy swords? And armour? What about giving them certain roles? This game-mod screams CUSTOMISATION! Do you want a successful raid party or a bunch of some random dudes and dudettes in all random armour pieces with whatever weapons? I guess not.

    IV. Conclusion and music.

I play AC-Series since the beginning when it was not clear that AC1 will overthrow Prince of Percia (mwah!) and become one of the biggest and best game franchises ever. Every part had a certain new experience to bring into the world and lore of the game series and each and every part felt mostly unique to the history of the actual, yes, Assassin's Creed.

This being said the last trilogy had one of the best starts we've seen since Ezio Auditore and Desmond: Origins. Then more modern in UI and less beautiful we had Odyssey. Still a very good functioning and interesting specimen which I enjoyed for again 200 hours after Origins. And now Valhalla. I won't say this game is a disappointment. It is a sturdy and well functioning game with its flaws and pluses, but not more than this. It is just another game. Nothing special and please, don't be offended, I am a big fan of the series, but this..

The writing and script is pretty clear from the beginning. You know your baddies, you know your good guys. But, BUT!!! Where is the damn intrigue? Where is the heat and action? Where is the heart of Assassin's Creed we all so crave for? The game feels dull and predictable. You know what will happen next. And very sadly, one of the most important parts in almost all game which saves the said games for me despite the bad writing or graphics (when present), the music. Oh, how I waited to listen to the Valhalla soundtrack. How I wished for the war-drums.. and got 'this'. I mean: You have millions to spend. Ok, let us say you spend good 50-70 thousands of dollars on a gaming soundtrack. Not that much in terms of a company of the size of Ubi. So why don't you try and make a soundtrack which ACTUALLY makes you feel like you are in action? Like you are an epic warrior conquering the virgin shores of England while howling and ohhmmiing yourseves in a war-trance-like-state? Where is the jolly calmness and whitty flirtness of the camp-fire while waiting for the next attack? (I mean everything in background music terms.) Yes, I romanticise the Vikings in gaming industry. Yes, I want to see them as fearless warriors with a jolly heart. Yes, I want to be entertained. So why is the music here so depressive and makes you go 'meh, another raid', 'meh, another story arc', 'meh, another boring beginning of something something'? I simply cannot anymore.

And the actualy dialogues-writing. Look, the all-in-all sound effects are great. Here is a bird chirping, there we can hear soemone chopping wood, but dialogues.. Voice actors did a very good job. They are clearly professionals and know their trade. But even professionals cannot work with dogshit. The dialogues feel dull and veeeery try-hard. Like someone who is happy 100% of the time in the world of misery, but doesn't want to accept the whole situation he/she is in and simply plays the excitement, the happiness and a good mood. Why? What for? Why won't you simply give those actors a way to express real feelings of those we see on the screen and not some strange happiness about every possible action taken? It just does not fit well. Feels artificial at best.

A game I waited so long for to play is very sadly ruined for me by so simple things which are really not hard to make when you have the Ubi budgets.

It will be the first time in my AC-experience that I will NOT finish an AC-title. And I even finished Unity (and you know how it felt for me, even wrote that another article about it). Just to give the game a simple feeling of accomplishment I uninstalled the game only after finishing the Grantegrantebridgescire arc.

    P.S.:

Ubi, stop being so moved by the media. Try to relax and give your writers the freedom to be as free as they can and want. (In terms of not breaking the law, of course, but ONLY the law, not MEDIA-standards). Don't try and push what everyone wants to hear and see, but characters and stories with their very good and very bad sides. More extremes, less dullness. More precise action, less talk. Interesting and addicting music instead of depressision inducing tunes.

    Female 60+ Gamer out.

(Edit. Added a section about River Raid).

A game in which you start off as a Templar, then gradually become an Assassin.

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 02:03 AM PDT

So imagine a game with these RPG mechanics of the latest trilogy, but set around the Crusades (before Altaïr). You could start as a Templar who thinks he is doing the right thing, then slowly but surely grow dissapointed and, lastly, become a Hidden One.

We already have the other way around (Shay), and I think it would be interesting to explore it. You would learn the stealth mechanics in a more slow-paced and detailed way (kind of like Ghost of Tsushima does it) and the setting could be a bigger version of the 1st one. Middle East contains a lot of fantastic opportunities for exploration.

Furthermore, it could be somehow linked to the first one. Maybe you meet Al Mualim along the way as an early novice of the Assassins or you protect a very young Robert de Sable. I don't know, the whole idea seems interesting to me.

What do you guys think about my idea for a game during/after Origins?

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 01:10 PM PDT

[Origins spoilers! Do not read if you haven't played!]

As we know, Bayek and Aya come to find Julius Caesar as the leader of the goddamn Templars. Well, this game could start when Aya sends a letter to contacts in Rome like the conspirators. The conspirators could be the Assassins. Brutus, Cassius, and Decimus would've been the leaders alongside Aya.

Cassius would be the character that wants to use the military to secure Rome instead of hiding in the shadows. Brutus is the sole and obvious assassin as he prefers strategy and quietness over militaristic methods. Decimus is the medium of the two.

The character you play as is brought into the conspiracy because you're a senator who wants to save Rome from Caesar's ego. Along the way, you discover the order, you try and uncover secrets, you form alliances in the senate, etc.

In the story, you gain a hideout that you can upgrade like your estate with Ezio. Senators pitch in and that's how you gain passive income. Just thought I'd mention that.

Also, you gain your skills from missions from the main three conspirators. Brutus gives you assassin skill points, Cassius gives you combat skill points, and Decimus gives you a third like archery or something. When Aya arrives, she trains assassins and that's how you learn parkour, staying hidden, etc.

The ending of Origins is commanded by you. You're the one that comes up with the whole thing. It plays out how it did in Origins, but you get Aya inside, you give the signal, you get literally everything ready for the assassination.

I think It's a cool idea, but what do y'all think?

AC Odyssey Mid Game XP Grind

Quick question. I played Odyssey at launch but got burnt out around level 30 with the XP grind requirement for main missions and just gave up. Did they ever tweak this?

I'm keen to give it another crack but was hoping not to run into the same issue...

    Cheers!

what are things you would want to return in the modern day story of assassins creed?

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 10:58 AM PDT

ever since desmond died in assassins creed 3 i always wanted to see a good comeback from the modern day story,im going to explain a story plot from the ac comics so this is a spoiler warning:

remember when juno was brought back into the living world, why don't they do that with desmond, i know that dr gramatica fucked up his body for DNA scraps but if a member of the isu race can be brought back, im pretty sure they can bring desmond back via the ankh of Eden (do some research on the ankh if you are unsure about what it is)

i want something like that to happen in the modern day plot

    Assassin's Creed Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad thoughts

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 02:28 AM PDT

I adore this character, and I feel it's extremely unfair how they tossed him aside.

I remember the first time I played the game . . . the atmosphere, something about the game that just gave it a feeling unlike the other /newer games, the twist about their master, the music.

The templar trailer, when suddenly one of them dies.

I was expecting Altair will be in the sequel but no. ........ I do like Ezio, he is nice. But Altair deserved more, instead of that barely remembered game Bloodline.

Part of the reasons why I loved AC revelations since it's all about remembering him and visiting his village and playing some short missions never seen in the first game.

the dialogue with Maria in his final moments in the library, it feels like they could have created a great series with him.

Or maybe it's best things turned out like this, perhaps they won't make it well??? I don't know.

Hurry up with WW2 AC game

    Posted: 31 Mar 2021 12:22 AM PDT

I really wish ubi would hurry up and release a WW2 AC so that I could stop seeing posts on here by people suggesting a WW2 assassins game. It's not going to happen.

    Are the novels considered canon?

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 01:14 PM PDT

Hi all, sorry if this is a dumb question but I am curious about the fandom's thoughts on the books, as there a some differences from the games in them.

For example, in Renaissance, there is a plotline where Claudia Auditore joined a convent for a time, then eventually was married and became pregnant, which Ezio was happy about. However, despite Renaissance and AC2 coming out around the same time (in America), this was never mentioned in the game. In fact, I don't think Claudia even had kids (PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong lol)? Sure, the trilogy spans decades, she could've easily had children offscreen in AC2 or Brotherhood or Revelations who grew up and left. But I feel that that would've been mentioned by somebody in-game!

Would a WW2 AC be something you'd get into?

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 02:29 PM PDT

I've had a soft spot for the history of war for a while and I was thinking about some things that commonly are associated the axis powers being paranormal investigations and it crossed my mind that the older AC have a substantial amount of what could be considered paranormal, in that there are the holograms like juno guiding Desmond and company. What I thought up were like three different games: a French assassin aiding the resistance traveling around occupied France, killing Nazi commanders, gathering intel, preventing Nazis from gaining access to the isu ruins. A Polish prisoner who is captured and put into one of the camps, who then escapes with the aid of an assassin and starts fighting across the countryside until they're able to free their comrades, (and bring back the recruit system, create a new brotherhood) or the last one, an american fighting through the pacific theater, (a paratrooper or something, make some of the leaps of faith jumping out of the planes) you'd find out the oni and other demons are the holograms from broken ruins, sneaking around japanese patrols, gaining intel, rescuing POWs, fighting your way through the pacific theater with a unit. I'm still thinking about how it would really work, but I think that I have enough general details to pitch it here and see what people would think.

How do I know if my hit will kill?

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 12:17 PM PDT

I'm playing AC Odyssey and I want to be a better assasin but it's a pain because it's hard to predict how much damage my attack will actually do and I end up losing the element of surprise and have the entire camp or fort down on me alomg with 3 mercenaries out for my head.

Sometimes I one hit enemies with a little bit of damage left on their health bar and other times my crit assasination ability barely does anything so any helpful advice would be much appreciated.
