Appreciation post. Replayed Black Flag after nearly 7 years. IT is as good as it was when it was released.

    Posted: 08 Mar 2021 08:46 AM PST

AC 4: Black Flag Gold Edition is on sale on PSN Store and I though to purchase it again (Got only the PS3 version). Last time I played Black Flag was in 2013. Played a shit ton of that game. I really enjoyed it and also thanks to Black Flag I got into Sea Shanties. Since 2013 I never touched it again.

This Saturday I though to jump again and play the game, and oh man. I had the same feeling and excitement just like in 2013. Combat, Sea Shanties, story and the best part, Jackdaw gameplay.

Beside Black Flag, my other favourite installments are AC3 and Unity and I don't know why these 2 games get so much hate. The have one of best combat fightings and parkour. (P.S. I also played Unity 1 year after release so no bugs for me.)

That's it. This is just an appreciation post. Y'all have a nice week.

A small complaint about stone cairns

    Posted: 08 Mar 2021 08:02 PM PST

I hate everything to do with these things. Sure they first like 2 are fun but then you get to the later ones and I'm having to break the laws of physics themselves to stack stones. Time is limited in our world and I'm wasting it stacking stones. I'm just disappointed.

    [Possible spoiler] What's the point?

    Posted: 08 Mar 2021 10:48 PM PST

What's the point of absolute endgame gear like Mjolnir (where you have to basically finish the game in order to get it) if there's no New Game+ to use it in? By the time you've gotten some of the really OP gear, they're basically just shiny paperweights.

why do Valhalla updates take so damn long?

    Posted: 08 Mar 2021 03:26 PM PST

seriously I remember in the odyssey there was an update at least once or twice a week. but in Valhalla, the average time we have to wait to get a patch is around 4 - 5 weeks? what the hell happened?

Feeling like a bad guy in syndicate

    Posted: 08 Mar 2021 08:53 AM PST

I don't know about you guys, but I've been playing syndicate recently for the first time, and not gonna lie, I kinda feel like a bad guy some of the time. Like it feels like for Jacob, the being an assassin is just an excuse to run a gang in London. Evie seems a bit more sensible but Jacob seems like he just wants to run a gang and commit crimes. It almost feels like a gta but in Victorian London, with just stealing carriages off people and stuff. For example, Jacob when Marx asks him to do work, actually thinks, hol up maybe I should think about this, but then is just like sod it, and just goes and kills a load of innocent police men for some random dude he just met

[Possible Spoilers for various games] Templars converting to Assassin's?

    Posted: 08 Mar 2021 07:48 PM PST

I just finished playing Assassin's Creed Liberation for the first time (as part of the ACIII Remaster) and due to Aveline's stepmother trying to coerce her into joining the Templars, it occured to me that throughout the series a shockingly high percentage of Assassin's defect to the templar's (or attempt to); off the top of my head: Al-Mualim (AC), Duncan Walpole (AC4), Haytham Kenway (AC3), and, hell, Shay (ACR) got a whole game about his betrayal. But I can't recall any instances of it going the other way, where Templars join the Assassin's.

Of Note, I've played every game released on Console, except Valhalla and the Chronicles. Am I forgetting something, or is this just a one way street?

A Critique to the latest 3 AC games. Games where combat restriction fails.

    Posted: 08 Mar 2021 09:19 PM PST

I love rpgs. From Zelda, Dark Souls, Witcher and ACreed games. I found all these franchises awesome. Yet, there is an aspect, that only fails in the Creed games. That is the illogical inability to chose freely your weapons. In games like Dark Souls you can use and equip every weapon however you like. Breath of The Wild is the same. You are free. This is a great way to open the combat to player. Other games like Sekiro, Zelda or Witcher, restrict your combat to just a certain type of weapon. A Katana, Sword and Shield or just a lo g sword. Even tho this 3 games gives you less options than the AC ones, this games do not fail. Why, because it makes sense. It is understandable that Sekiro just uses his katana. He does not go for any other weapon, nor wants to. There is a mythos behind his sword, and the player never feel it necessary to try anything else. Zelda and The Witcher have similar stories. The game dives deep in the mythos that you are a sword man. It never impulses you or push you to use some other type of weapons. Then comes AC Odyssey, Origins and Valhalla. This three games urges you and pushes you to try new weapons. They feed you with different play styles, but then, for no apparent reason, they restrict the access to a certain type of weapon. No explanation or motive is given. The player for some reason, cant pick everything up save that type of weapon. This is way restriction in other games is successful and none is disappointed by the fact that in Sekiro, or the Witcher you cant pick up a weapon. It makes sense. Yet in the AC games, it does not.

Is there a future for River Raids in Valhalla?

    Posted: 08 Mar 2021 11:18 AM PST

I find it hard to believe that this is the final incarnation for River Raids. They hyped it as highly replayable and challenging but we all know that isn't what we got.

We got a few new Abilities and a new armor set but couldn't you see Ubisoft releasing more River raids down the road?

Ubisoft's Valhalla Is Too Long, Too Big, and Too Repetitive

    Posted: 08 Mar 2021 08:36 AM PST

(spoiler) were the special weapons on valhalla actually real or just a messed up genetic memory of Eivor?

    Posted: 08 Mar 2021 11:59 AM PST

We see excalibur and morrigan guard as isu weapons throughout the game and we see swords similar to excalibur in the hidden truth video so we know they are actual isu weapons but mjolnir and gungnir don't quite have the same aesthetic as the other isu weapons like nodens arc or excalibur. Plus we know eivors perception of odin (and all of asgard and the aesir) was deeply altered to fit with their view of the world and religion but that's not what they really looked like. Gungnir and mjolnir don't look like actual isu weapons, they look like how eivor would've imagined they looked like. So that's my thought, that mjolnir and gungnir aren't actually isu weapons or if they are they didn't look like how they are presents in the game. Maybe that's how eivor perceived them to look like so it fit in their brain liek the asgard thing and odin himself (but then why would excalibur and the others not change? I suppose maybe it's cus they weren't things eivor wouldve had been taught about and had preconceived notions about since they're not part of norse religion? I dunno?) anyway that's just my thought/question. Sorry it's a long post. Tell me your thought on the matter. Maybe I'm missing something obvious.

Looking for an Iroquois Translator [minor Vinland Arc and ACIII SPOILERS]

    Posted: 08 Mar 2021 10:53 AM PST

So Vinland was one of my favorite arcs in Valhalla for how much connection it brought to ACIII, and while I know zero Iroquois/Native American, there was something said at the campfire by the female leader, Konwahawíhshon, that really piqued my interest, and I haven't seen the connection made online yet:

    Konwahawíhshon: Sok ki' Rarón:tote' wahshakohró:ri' ne lottsi'tsíson, wahèn:ron' "Háo' tho iétene tsi nón:we rotihsken'rakéhte' tionkkwirotakwén:ni." Tehnitsá:ron ki' tho thní:tahkwe', ia'tehnikà:nere' tsi iohsón:waien tánon' akwé:kon kahsonwahòn:tsi. Iottsi'tsíson iakotatenekwen'tawà:kon, tànon' Rarón:tote' iehsòn:ne ì:rate'.

She says this word twice during her starlit story, and the reason I immediately picked up on this word specifically is because we've heard it before! Kaniehtí:io mentioned this same word to Haytham when she describes the cave paintings on the entrance to the Grand Temple hundreds of years later! Then-called (or perhaps a misspelling from my research) "Iottsitíson the Sky Woman", hearing that word pop up twice in the leader's story, I KNOW the campfire story has to have something to do with the Isu/this Sky Woman!!!

I had hoped by now the fandom wiki would've given us translations, but it's still kinda sparse on Valhalla... Has anyone found any outside source that's translated the Native American into English? Could one of you perhaps know enough to translate? I can't seem to do it through Google Translate myself, but I need to know what the Iroquois knew about Gorm's dig site, the Crystal Ball, and the Isu who left it there!!!

It's possible the other Iroquois speeches from other missions in Vinland may hold other important info, but I'm certain this story is highly important with what little context I've been able to glean from one word.

Can anyone help us understand this better?
