They need to make a game like Revelations where Arno goes to Egypt to learn about the Creed

    Posted: 09 Feb 2021 12:16 PM PST

At the end of the Dead Kings DLC the apple was mentioned to be taken to Egypt. I think this could be an opportunity to expand on Arno and Bayek's characters and make a game similar to how Ezio went to Constantinople. Both of those characters have a lot of potential and I think a final game would provide closure for both of them.

I'm replaying AC2 and one thing I'd wish for in future games is to bring back the factions concept

    Posted: 09 Feb 2021 04:04 PM PST

In Assassin's Creed 2, the Assassins make up the thieves, mercenaries and courtesans and throughout the game, each group would have a different arc for you with a different target to kill. I liked this concept because it created this sense of mystery to the Assassins, they could be anyone on the street and you'd never suspect. It also created a sense of unity, all these different groups of people coming together for a greater cause and all being part of the same society that protects the freedom of the world.

With the current games, you're just given a huge map of Cultists/Templars that you can seek out and kill on your own and while that's kind of cool, like a treasure hunt, I still liked the faction concept you saw in the Ezio games. It also allowed for some great character building since each section had it's own group of characters that you'd get to know and then they would all come together as a unit and it never felt forced. It even worked to great effect in Brotherhood when you meet some of the faction leaders from 2 again and there's a great sense of comfort, like meeting an old friend and feeling like even if you're in a different city, you're not completely alone.

Valhalla sorely misses substantial side quests

    Posted: 09 Feb 2021 02:48 PM PST

Technically, Valhalla does have side quests, they are known as 'World Events'. These are 2-10 min quests that usually only have one objective, are less than 5 mins, are standalone, and they never affect the story. My favourite bits of Odyssey were the substantial side missions because they connected to main quests, eg the Delos rebellion, the Minotaur or the group of quests where you help Alkibiades. On your first playthrough you usually had no idea whether the quest you were starting would be 5 or 50 minutes long. Best of all you had no idea where they would take you. Admittedly, they did have their draw backs. They often had similar structures to main story missions, which meant you could get fatigued with the whole game if you tried to blitz everything. But that wasn't a major issue for the vast majority of players. Even if Ubisoft saw them as a problem getting rid of all of them was extreme. A side effect of having no substantial side quests meant that there was nothing to break up 'the region grind' of doing a region's story arc whilst clearing the map

Edit: I purposefully did not mention the Beowulf and Berserker missions because not everyone has them and they are complete anomalies in comparison to the rest of the game

Ubisoft Q3 Investor Call Key takeaways

    Posted: 09 Feb 2021 12:37 PM PST

So I stupidly hit delete when I meant to edit the mega thread for the Ubi Investor call, so here's a repost with the key takeaways:

    - Assassin's Creed Valhalla had the best launch, however still has not outsold Ac3 by this same time period in 2013, which already had 12 million units sold. Ac3 remains the highest selling game in the series

    - More players were active on Odyssey in December 2020 than 2019

    - Player engagement has risen substantially during the pandemic

    - Watch Dogs Legion is the 4th best selling game on new-gen consoles, and Valhalla was #2.

    - Q3 2020-2021 has been the best Quarter for Ubisoft ever, earning a billion dollars largely from MTX

    - Ubisoft is very pleased with the current RPG model for its success in driving up player retention, engagement, and MTX sales.

    - Ubisoft is partnered with Tencent and is pushing for more games to be released in China, being one of the few western companies to be able to get a game published there (being Rayman Legends)

    - Ubisoft is pushing heavily for more small-scale games, F2P, Mobile, and experimental games with fewer AAA games, but the AAA games will be much larger and last longer.

    - 2021-2022 FY will see 3 AAA games released being Far Cry 6, Rainbow 6 Quarantine, and Skull & Bones. Other small games including Rider's Republic, Prince of Persia Remake, and small unannounced games will also launch this fiscal year. This likely means no new AC game.

    - The star wars and Avatar games will not launch this year, and R6S and The Division will continue to receive support.

I bought the ezio collection 3 weeks ago and now I am sitting at the main menu for Ac Revelations just thinking about this amazing journey I have been on with ezio up till this point.

    Posted: 09 Feb 2021 10:11 PM PST

I cannot believe after revelations I will be done with the ezio trilogy. It has been a long time since a character has made such a impression on me. Seeing him grow from this impulsive angry boy to becoming the mentor for the assassin order. Making allies learning and abiding by the tenants of the creed all while not asking for glory or thanks. Ac3 was my first ac game back on ps3 I did not care for the modern day but these games have me loving every second of the modern day. Desmond is the focal point of modern day. I am more worried for him than ever if you have played brotherhood you know why. Anyway time to see how ezio's story ends. This has been awesome.

Game set in west Africa during Mansa musa reign ?

    Posted: 09 Feb 2021 07:26 PM PST

Anytime africa ( excluding Egypt ) is asked for as a setting people on this sub say stuff like " no architecture " or " no influence" but I believe it will be a great setting . I say have it take place in the Mali Empire during Mansa Musa reign . Have the storyline revolve around the gold trade and you being connected to Musa somehow . Major Locations in Mali we can explore can be of course Timbuktu, Gao, and Djenne. The map can also stretch out to parts of Morocco, whatever is left of the Ghana empire , and the Benin empire . Smaller tribal locations can be packed with culture and we can also explore the origins of voodoo that began in west Africa . Storyline missions can take us to Egypt and Mecca due to Mansa Musa pilgrimage . If Ubisoft was to ever do this setting i feel like it will have the same impact as marvels "Black Panther". Not only will it be the first game to take place during medieval west Africa but any type of media. This setting is high risk- high reward and they most execute it very carefully but I feel like they can do it justice and it will be a spectacular experience

Think the build the brotherhood mechanic will ever return?

    Posted: 09 Feb 2021 04:31 PM PST

I am actually very surprised that they really never jumped on the whole, "Build your Brotherhood" system that was introduced in AC Brotherhood. It seems like it would be a perfect fit of the rpg style of game, putting you at the ground floor of the assassins and build them up or rise through the ranks and eventually lead, unlocking more features of the system as the game progresses. I bring this up because I thought as games are getting more advanced it would be incredible to send an assassin out on a mission in a city you can visit and them be able to come across them in the city somewhere, either on the roof tops or in the crowds.

I just bought AC Origins on Xbox for 14 bucks. I’m hoping this one is more like odyssey

    Posted: 09 Feb 2021 06:39 PM PST

I beat odyssey and the fate of Atlantis. I'm 60 to 70% of the way through Valhalla and then I'll be firing this one up. I'm playing the games ass backwards yes. But I don't care. Odyssey is up there in my top 5 games and it was my first AC game played a little more than a month ago. Let's see if origins can make my top 5 with god of war being my number 1 since the first game

The state of assassins creed valhalla right now

    Posted: 09 Feb 2021 12:06 PM PST

The game is currently on market for $49.95 CAD. One set of armour in the in-game store is worth $26.95.

That means an armour set is almost HALF the price of the actual game. Ontop of all this, we're in a pandemic where most people are struggling for money, yet Ubisoft continues to milk us for it. When are we gonna stop allowing this???

They INTENTIONALLY waited until reviews came out before implementing these features, and other damaging ones such as level-scaling. This is literally scum business practice.

Why is Assassins creed black flag still so expensive?

    Posted: 09 Feb 2021 01:29 PM PST

My last post got removed because I didn't have enough words in the title........ l.o.l. I've completed all the other assassins creed games except black flag. I wanted to get the gold edition but I saw it's $50 on the PlayStation store. Can anyone explain to me why a almost decade old game is still $50? Like $10 short of a brand new 2021 title???

    Question about the ending? *Spoilers*

    Posted: 09 Feb 2021 04:48 PM PST

So in the mission Holy Days after three die in the battle to go after Aelfred is that the correct ending part or is their more? The random guy being the Final Boss was odd and it seems like their should have been one more Arc to tie the story together. So i am wondering am i missing something. If not then i feel the Arc with Sigurd in Norway should have been the ending as these kind feels Like Blue Balls the ending.

Out of all the assassin's creed games on switch, which one has the most repeatable content?

    Posted: 09 Feb 2021 10:54 PM PST

I'm talking about things like, events, encounters, or anything of the like. I remember play ac3 when I was a wee younger lad and enjoying it quite a lot but I can't remember if there was all that much repeatable content. I also played black flag but I was kind of disappointed at the lack of a new game+ mode or a way to reset all the naval forts you could take over. Never played rogue or any other ones on the switch. Thank you for the replies!

What happens to Shawn and everyone else between AC 3 and 4? Do I see them again in 4?

    Posted: 09 Feb 2021 09:47 PM PST

Hello! I just finished the main story of AC 3 (which I actually really liked, but I should mention I'm a huge fan of the revolutionary period) the only part that didn't impress me was how Boston and New York looked almost identical and the ending. I personally would've liked to see Lee escape to Yorktown with Conner coming after him during the battle of Yorktown and kill him around the same time as the surrender… but that's just my thoughts.

The main topic here is what happened to everyone else besides Desmond after AC 3. AC 4 starts with a new faceless and nameless protagonist in the present day. Does Desmond's friends and father make a appearance in AC 4? Thanks!

Why is Layla a main character?

    Posted: 09 Feb 2021 05:01 PM PST

I ask this because I haven't played any of the newer games yet but from what I have read she has no relation to Bayek,Alexios or any of the new characters so what's the point of her I mean the entire point of the Animus is to see the memories of your ancestors so of she is not related to them why is she even in the Animus

    Posted: 09 Feb 2021 06:11 PM PST

Im having trouble finding any that are useful outside of making a smoke bomb, a stink bomb, and a literal grenade so im looking for any reason not to ignore this feature. I alreadyy have poison darts, a crossbow, a gun, then smoke bombs so i dont really see a need for these

Master Assassin Armour not showing up in Revelations

    Posted: 09 Feb 2021 11:53 PM PST

I unlocked the seven Dens (six, not counting the one from the main story), assigned six Den leaders (i.e. I have 6 other recruits at or above lvl.10), and finished the first missions they activate (when standing in the Dens), but the only armour at the Galata HQ is the Azap set (spaulders and vambraces).

What else do I do to unlock the armour? All the guides say you only need to do the first set

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Finished the Ezio trilogy - wow.

    Posted: 08 Feb 2021 11:52 PM PST

So, I'm a late comer to this series. I recently built my first PC in summer of 2020 and decided to start with Odyssey. Honestly, aside from some of the cookie cutter campsite missions, I thought it was a beautiful, enormous, fantastic game. I fell in love with AC.

Then I found out about Syndicate. I love 19th century history so I HAD to play it next. It was incredible. The grappling hook was badass and running around England was badass. I also loved that you could recruit people and have them fight for you.

Then, I decided I should just play from the beginning, since all I hear here is that the Ezio trilogy is the best and it's what true AC games should be.

I skipped AC1 because I've heard it's a little dated and repetitive, and started with AC2. It started a little slow, and coming from the new games it felt a little old. But then I got really into it and fell in love. I couldn't put it down.

Brotherhood was even better as it seemed to have refined some of the gameplay and controls. And Revelations, bringing in the new location, was badass. I also loved old Ezio, and getting to play as Altaïr.

I'm excited to finally be on the other end of the trilogy so I can see what all the hype was about. These games are epic!! I can't wait to catch up to Valhalla.

[ACV] Ended up feeling obliged to buy DLC

    Posted: 09 Feb 2021 11:04 PM PST

I haven't played AC since the release on the PS3 and since getting a PS5 decided to indulge myself, boy was I out of my scope in my capability in this game.

I started on the default difficulty and was going okay. Only time I died was when facing boss battles which the game never explains. I made it all the way to What I now presume is the final boss of Fenrir the Wolf before I realized I hadn't even played the game. I did not complete any region quest lines or assassinations except 2 zealots. I ended up paying 70$ in DLC to help me feel adequate in playing, even lowering my difficulty to easy to only find out I'm not even suppose to be on the final boss yet and the Quest Log not telling me I needed to expand my partnerships with other regions to help me raise my level.

Inside your home base you can "request" quest in the longhouse which is only visible through an icon that I didn't know what it was. I admit in retrospect I was told about this but was distracted by everything else like the game telling me to complete asgard first. I was strictly following the quest log as much as possible and ended up in the wrong direction.

I thought asgard and jot WERE the quest.

Does anyone else feel the same way? I'm at a complete loss of what to do.

TLDR: the quest line is wack for a new comer. Spent 70$ thinking I was inexperienced and not realizing there are other quest because the quest log doesn't tell me.
