All I can say is - Thank you Ubisoft for this masterpiece

    Posted: 19 Oct 2020 10:40 AM PDT

AC3 was the first Assassins Creed title I played. My parents bought the Freedom Edition for me on PS3 in 2013 and I cherished this statue for years. I recently brought this statue back into my life where it will reside in my house now for years to come.

As someone who was not a fan of odyssey, Valhalla looks sick

    Posted: 19 Oct 2020 02:05 AM PDT

I know its not out yet but the interviews with developers really seem like they took on the criticisms of Odyssey, while it was a good game, there was way too much fluff to enjoy it.

Its a risky day one buy for my series X but I really hope Ubisoft deliver this time

Potential AC Valhalla Norway spoilers + Norway map.

    Posted: 19 Oct 2020 03:23 PM PDT

Thanks to u/Rubic-Cube for that catch!

    Picture of the map:

    http://imgur.com/gallery/xmYK6Qf

As you guys can see, its VERY big. Much bigger than what I expected. As reference, England itself is bigger than the Origins map.

5 months ago, Ubisoft told us in an interview that we would have: "reasons to go back to Norway."

Eivors clan left Norway as it became uneasy and too chaotic to live in, becaue of the King of all Norway.

    My theory is:

Close to the end of the game, you can go back to Norway as a Hidden One/Assassin, you'll unlock a Norway specific target/assasinate list in your menu tab.

And you'll slowly go through everyone loyal to the King of Norway and eventually kill him to restore "peace" and end the "chaos".

This would be a massive change of the games vibe:

It will go from saxons and others hating your "pagan ways" in England.

To you going back to your "home" and your "own people"(Norweigians), being disgusted at your "acts in the shadows", whilst assassinating the targets.

We should try to petition for AC1 to be remade/remastered

    Posted: 19 Oct 2020 07:23 PM PDT

We should start a petition to show Ubisoft that this game is actually loved. Just saying I would pay good money for AC1 on ps5 or even ps4 I don't even care if it's a remaster or a remake, I just miss Altair and the setting

The biggest problem with Black Flag's Story- we don't see how Nassau fell

    Posted: 19 Oct 2020 11:39 PM PDT

I'm not the biggest fan of Black Flag. While it had a beautiful world and good ship combat, the main storyline felt lacking. Ironically, for all the praise the game got for diverting from the Assassin/Templar conflict, I felt the story was at its best when it focused on Edward's interactions with the two groups.

One of the reasons I didn't like the story was because we don't see proper development of things- events just happen out of the blue, usually after big time skips (I swear, the game abuses time skips worse than ACIII).

The worst of these is Nassau. The whole first half of Black Flag is built on Edward and the other pirates enjoying a life of freedom in Nassau, yet the place ends up falling apart out of nowhere.

It's like, what? What in the world happened? Edward spent all that effort ending the blockade, and then the next sequence it's like the whole society collapsed and everyone is having second doubts. I understand the lack of medicine played a part in this, but they don't even take that seriously. Blackbeard is like "meet me over here in 3 months and we'll get the medicine".

WHAT? Why is taking so long to get medicine? Why can't we just plunder ships to get the medicine or buy it? There is a big disconnect between the gameplay systems and the narrative.

Did anyone else have this problem, or am I pointlessly rambling on?

I'd love an AC TV Series on HBO or Netflix

    Posted: 19 Oct 2020 04:33 PM PDT

I'd love an AC TV Series on HBO or Netflix

So I decided to write a story pitch to a 1st episode. It's set both in Modern and Historical times. I have added to this videos, music and pics, edited with some AC soundtracks and iconography to give the reader a perfect vision of the style, coreography and ambience. There are over 10 minutes of video content here. This starts in a flashforward. A young woman, Sara Isla Arden, enters a restaurant. An epic fight begins, with MODERN ASSASSIN (the soundtrack from AC3) playing, inserted by me. Enjoy!

Aerial shots of the city would precede this scene. I'll be using mainly Sasha Luss and Katherine McNamara as models for Isla Arden.

The scene fades to black, the result and meaning of the fight unclear. We then have our first historical scene. Interior. Underground Temple. A young man is welcomed into a brotherhood, assumed to be the assassins by the viewer as he removes his hood and declares his allegiance to the values of peace.

Cut scene. Modern Day again. We return to the beginning of the story, before that flashforward. A young woman, Isla Luna Arden, narrates how Abstergo, the world's biggest corporation, has essentially taken over the world and branded it with its corruption and deceit. All of this in a montage.

EVERYBODY KNOWS by SIGRID. This montage would immediatly establish the series aesthetic. Showing a decadent world, engulfed by Abstergo...

She also talks to the audience as if we exist. She ponders if the Modern Day is truly the present or if she is being seen by someone in an animus in the future. This will be a big theme for her story arc.

Tokyo. She walks the rainy streets, stalking a man, entering a nightclub. SKELER-TOKYO plays in the club, dulling all other sounds, lights illuminating her face as she tails him.

    SKELER - TOKYO

She slowly walks towards the target, evading security, entering his VIP room as the music hits its crescendo. Takes the hood off and appears to flirt with the man, claiming to be a fan of his work. He is a semi famous millionaire that works for Abstergo. But he soon understands she is not there for carnal pleasures.

    https://preview.redd.it/xh1kmqhr33u51.jpg?width=1000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f058199e5ffa9f1107dede721bb1384e7396789a

He is concerned with the whole situation but quickly regains his composure and calls Abstergo guards to protect him. Isla has no choice but to fight now. She takes them all out and escapes with the money. performing a leap of faith. However, from a nearby building, a SIGMA team agent spies on all this.

    SKELER - ARCADIA

She returns home. Her desk is filled with newspapers and information. It's clear she has been investigating Abstergo and she knows they are Templars. Because she...works for Abstergo. In the animus research division. This is how she has all those skills. Bleeding Effect.

    Standing by the animus

She was primarly assigned to 20th century research, mainly WW2 and Vietnam War assassins, hence the gun skills. The wars she experienced made her have a problematic, pessimistic view of society.

Scene cuts to two men, Abstergo operatives, visiting the corrupt Abstergo executive in his home. He is under house arrest after the docs were leaked. They interrogate him through the door, telling him not to open, strangely. They shoot him in a scene thats meant to add a bit of dark comedy to such an act.

    https://preview.redd.it/l6xqn6ky64u51.jpg?width=1000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d16b43d8f6229278c5aa2782ee68cdf03d0c8e80

The episode cuts to Isla going to work. Lisbon. I choose this city because it is the current seat of modern day templars in real life, as it is also the seat of the nizari Ismaiili, previous hashashins.

Representation of how Abstergo's building in the city must look like. Its presence in the city, shining like an oppressive beacon. A constant reminder to Isla, wherever she'd walk.

Eventually, she realized Abstergo was corrupt after receiving emails from hacker group Erudito, realizing they were Templars and decided to become a vigilante to fight them. But killing was something she avoided doing, despite being desensitized to the act itself due to the bleeding effect.

She goes to a psychologist to vent a bit about her life and how she feels the world is a brutal place and she wants to lighten it a bit. But she feels she has been contributing more to the first element than the second by working for Abstergo.

Her inability to tell the full truth to the psychologist creates a barrier, one recognized by the psychologist, and her progress with her is halted due to her omissions, speaking in metaphors to her.

\"Not everyone has the will or the skills to do it. But what do I believe in? Ultimate goal?

Through her work and with Erudito helping, she regularly gets her information and valuable intel on targets from a mysterious source claiming to belong to the hacking faction. She gets a new target. This one disturbs her considerably. This was no mere money laundering. It was human trafficking.

This man was not Abstergo but actually a former templar now deep into crime. Going through his list of crimes almost makes her throw up. She is enraged. Simultaneously, she is also investigating William Miles, trying to learn more about the Assassins, knowing they too oppose the Templars and Abstergo.

The next day at Abstergo she is called for a meeting with the new CEO of the company accompanied by other executives. He tells them to leave. This is unusual, considering she is a low level employee despite working in the animus project.

    https://preview.redd.it/o67ivn00z3u51.jpg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=aa01cdc707e7c44cd4a27c661d89c396508c2d85

She now thinks they finally caught up to her and is a bit distressed. In the meeting, the new CEO tells her how Abstergo has been paying attention to her work in the animus research team...and how they want to give her a training application for Sigma Team, Abstergo's military unit led by Otso Berg due to her fantastic animus retention skills.

But before allowing her to answer yes or no, the man talks a bit about life himself and the company. This is where we understand him to be an eloquent man, with great plans for the future and filled with ambition. It's clear by now he has extremely high ambitions, comparing himself to God.

*that meaning Clearly, she was lying

Back to the plot point of the new target. She locates him after help from Erudito. They tell her to not attack him, he's too heavily guarded. This time, feeling enraged for all his crimes, she decides to take him out. To kill him. She has the skills. But does she have the will? It's the target from the first video.

She fights through all, killing all. But she is wounded. She returns home, with blood dripping from her hands and tears falling from her face. She felt she had to do what she did. But the cost of it all. Hard.

She cleans the blood of her hands. She had killed her innocence by taking so many lives. But what she saw, the crimes he did, she couldn´t let him go free.

She feels weak and suddenly someone rings at her door. She grabs a gun and peeks to see who it is. It's William Miles. She recognizes him from her research on the assassins. After some introductions...

Miles tells her the dangers of the life she's been leading and offers her the choice of becoming an assassin, telling her she could be of great importance to the brotherhood. That they have been watching her and they were now sure she could become great. He knows she's been researching the assassins. He knows she's entranced by their mysticism and knows they are an order that is good.

As Miles tries to convince her, flashbacks of her missions occur. How she came close each time to finally be caught.. How fighting Templars by herself was no practical path.

She agrees to go to the assassins's secret base because she was wounded and could not go to a hospital. She then meets Shaun and Rebecca and its explained to her that they have been watching her, her "work" and her lineage is of great importance.

She does not believe her own words.

Miles tries to convince her further to join them as a montage of Abstergo's presence around the world and the Templars in all eras is shown, with Miles enacting a monologue of conviction and positivity.

    *All of those

They need her to get in the animus to relive the life of an ancestor of hers, an portuguese armada soldier turned assassin in the Age of Discovery era. They need to confirm she's a descendant of his. She is.

    https://preview.redd.it/k9ua6g66t3u51.jpg?width=650&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ef4ae41e12b6a25e78e55ca23717b842770d0fcb

While she is aware of the animus, assassins and templars, she is unaware of Isu stuff and all so this might come as a surprise to her.

As a form of gratitude, and having experience in the animus, she agrees to enter it after feeling better. But joining the assassins was something to be decided yet... She enters the animus. A battle begins.

Much like the first scene of the episode, this scene is also unclear in purpose. Which battle is this? Why is the historical protagonist fighting for the Templars?

In it, the same man from the beggining of the episode. But in this sequence, he is not an assassin yet. To be discovered in future episodes, which would be more historical.

    END OF EPISODE

POST CREDITS SCENE - The two Abstergo operatives of before go to a meeting with the new Abstergo CEO. They tell him they know who is causing disruption in their ranks. It's Isla Arden... He thanks them for the information but claims he already knew... He shoots the operative that proposes killing Isla.

His philosophy, regarding taking a life and murder.

The other operative is surprised but immediately falls on line. The CEO tells him to keep watching Isla Arden, declaring a no kill rule on her as the camera zooms on his computer, revealing he is the mysterious whisteblower that leaked her the Templar targets. He's been entrusted by his bosses to find who is disrupting Abstergo operations but clearly he has other goals.

He exits the meeting and goes to another, an Erudito meeting in which he slowly but triumphantly approaches a stage to talk to the members of the faction. END OF EPISODE PART 2

    https://preview.redd.it/f75szyejw3u51.png?width=1012&format=png&auto=webp&s=e958937f623597005131bb97b5ef60cab0af84d7

If this post gets popular I will write more. Assassin's Creed and its characters belongs to its respective legal owners, as does every pic, video, music used here. This was made for entertainment purposes only. I tried to get actors and aesthetics as consistent as possible in the videos and pictures. I hope you enjoyed, assassins.

    Valhalla needs camera distance options

    Posted: 19 Oct 2020 08:23 PM PDT

The camera distance in Origins and especially odyssey, completely ruined the immersion, it's way too far from the character. I really hope the devs put similar options in valhalla like gtav or rdr2 where you have different camera distance options. Also an option to disable the camera zooming way out during combat would be amazing. Just a simple lock camera at X distance, and KEEP it locked, no zooming out or anything.

I hope Ubisoft sees this. Alot of us gamers (including myself) couldnt attend the event for many different reasons (some didnt own game yet, real some had life events/emergencies, ect). Hope the Armor set becomes free to obtain once again via a different event or UbisoftClub without time limits ( before Valhalah releases).

Ubisoft did make that FF15 event permanent in ACOrigins, so I hope the same can sorta be done in Odyssey.

    Posted: 19 Oct 2020 07:40 PM PDT

The raids seem to be a pretty important part of the gameplay loop especially if you want to upgrade the settlement. How do they increase in difficulty as the game goes on, so that it makes upgrading your crew and stuff important?

I feel like the Levant/ Middle East didn't receive the justice it deserves within the games. Only the first game was mainly set in the Levant while being linear, outdated graphics and not much chance to properly explore the vast Levantine/Middle Eastern culture and environment.

    Posted: 19 Oct 2020 02:18 AM PDT

Before anyone mentions it, Constantinople/ Istanbul and Ancient Egypt aren't really considered Middle East and definitely not part of the Levant. Even Revelations gave us only an outdated and gloomy glimpse of the Levant and didn't do the area the justice it deserves. I feel like the culture and environment there make it as ideal of a location as Europe to set up an Assassin's Creed game. With proper research and history, a new generation and well-written game within the Middle East/ Levant that spans many countries (Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, Jordan and Iraq) could do wonders for the series. As someone from the Levant, I feel like the games didn't do the locations justice. What do you guys think?

Theory on how Desmond died in ac3

    Posted: 19 Oct 2020 07:06 PM PDT

As you all know in ac3 as part of desmond's destiny to save the world he touches the pedestal that kills him but in return creates a force field that protects the earth. I have been thinking about it. How did Desmond die? Clearly the eye charred his hand but humans can live without their limbs, they just need care. Desmond probably wouldn't be able to ever parkour again but it's not like it reached his vital organs or heart. What if it wasn't the eye that killed him but it had to do with Desmond himself. Let me explain.

When you go to the gym you can't just start deadlifting 500 pounds, it requires many years of building resistance. Parkour itself is a very physically demanding sport. If you are obese, even if you knew the techniques you couldn't pull them off because you are out of shape. The animus via the bleeding effect, allows you to pick up the skills of your ancestors However this only applies mentally. If your ancestor was a hacker you could pick up his abilities very easily because that skill comes from the brain. If your ancestor had the muscles of a truck driver and he worked out. While you would demonstrate proper form when working out you won't adopt your ancestor's physical strength such as bulky muscles or the skin color. You would still have the same strength as before.

With Desmond, due to all his time he drank away at the bar while he was a bartender. All the alcohol deteriorated his physical health to a point where he was kinda scrawny. His physical shape is probably not the great as seen in the photos in ac4 which shows he has no definition at all. Essentially when he picks up these abilities from his ancestors he isn't training physically himself. So when he starts performing all these parkour tricks it physically puts a strain on him and his heart. It doesn't help that he suffered an animus-induced coma.

When you see all these bodybuilders dropping like fly's because of their poor physical health. Well the same thing happened to Desmond. At the end of Ac3 his heart was already strained enough from all the strenuous movement. But when he touches the eye not only does he lose his hand but the shock from the eye is the nail in the coffin for his heart and he has a massive heart attack and drops dead on the ground. It is possible that Juno knew of this and acted like it was the eye. As to not draw suspicious eyes. This is just my explanation for how Desmond could of died and I would like to hear what you guys think.

Will an Assassins creed game set in India work ?.

    Posted: 19 Oct 2020 05:34 AM PDT

The templars with the british army vs indian rebels with the assassins. I feel Assassins creed chronicles didn't do justice to the indian brotherhood. We need a proper game set in India ,there is so much potential. Imagine if we could ride elephants. Also the ancient indian weopens look amazing. So would Ubisoft even consider this idea ??.
