Did people really not like revelations ?

i get it couldn't beat ac2 but i feel like it added a lot of stuff to make it not a rehash i the same ezio mechanics

    • hook blade - zip lines - bombs it does a good job of making a different experience so we didn't play brother hood twice

The colonial brotherhood of assassins are the worst

    Posted: 15 Aug 2020 03:53 AM PDT

First of I'm gonna write all the tenets of the brotherhood for the people who don't know it yet

Tenet1:Stay your blade from the flesh of the innocents Tenet2: hide in plain sight Tenet3: never compromise the brother hood

The colonial brotherhood violated all of these let me explain..

Tenet 1:they violated this rule from AC rogue's earthquake but instead of listening to shay the brotherhood betrayed him

Tenet 2: Hide in plain sight right? More like standout from all the flags they put up also connor told washington about the assassins and templars so you know.. the goal of the 2nd tenet is to become one with the crowd and be a needle in a haystack

Tenet3: I think violating the first 2 tenets automatically violates the 3rd

If you don't agree with me please don't kill me I'm just making a point so take this with a grain of salt

I feel Origins was allot more fleshed out then Odyssey.

    Posted: 15 Aug 2020 08:03 PM PDT

Compared to odyssey, origins feels allot more fleshed out. I get what people mean now when they say they enjoy it better. As I love Greek, Roman, Egyptian, ect. Type culture I thought I would love it. But there is just so much on the map in odyssey it makes you feel lost. Almost disconnected with the main characters. I put maybe 40-50 hours into odyssey and dropped it. Figured I would give origins a try and I'm glad I did. It's so much better, the little details and things you can do make it more...not quite realistic but more in tune with origins. It's a good balance of there is to much and there is to little. It adds allot but without taking away from the feel of assassins creed. Personally it felt like Odyssey was a totally different game, and although I played it before Origins. Origins still feels like an assassins creed game while Odyssey doesn't.

    Valhalla should have character development

    Posted: 15 Aug 2020 04:11 PM PDT

Okay this is a thing that I kinda miss about each ac game and it's the character progression which is a half in half in the series.

Ac 1 - Altair is too brash and arrogant but after the end of the game he is humble and knowledgeable.

Ac 2 - ezio begins his quest for revenge but in the end he realizes this isn't kind of worth it

Ac brotherhood and revelations in my opinion lack the character progression bc the story starts with ezio and Altair being knowledgeable.

Ac 3 - Connor thinks he can fix all his problems by killing the Templar's but after Charles less death he realizes that none of his problems will be fixed.

Ac 4 - Edward started off his journey for a greed of money but later doesn't care and takes care of his daughter and a noble cause.

Ac unity and syndicate- Jacob and evil stay same the entire time and stay static most of the time . Arno stays the same and is kinda static but in the dlc has character progression.

Ac origins - bayek starts off his story angry and blames himself for his sons death but in the end accepts his death and fights for a bigger cause.

Ac odyssey - kassandra and alexios are basically static throughout the whole story and doesn't change at all.

Hopefully in Valhalla , evior progresses throughout the story and so does Layla .

One of my biggest wishes for Valhalla is to have a satisfying bow.

    Posted: 15 Aug 2020 10:35 AM PDT

The bows in Orgins felt amazing, so satisfying. Clearing out a fort with only a bow is my favorite thing to do in Orgins, an ancient sniper.

Sadly in Odyssey the bows were shit. They felt like nerf guns with needles on them.

I know in Valhalla, Evior only has one bow. So it won't be exactly the same as Orgins. But let me hedshot enemies

It depresses me to see what has happened to Desmonds crew in AC3

    Posted: 15 Aug 2020 03:59 PM PDT

In AC2, you were introduced to these 3 new Bright, Intelligent, sharp witted, & charismatic young adults:

    Desmonds Crew in AC2:

Rebecca: a very Outgoing likable person who everyone would wanna be friends with. Rebecca is friendly, smart, charming and shes just overall a very positive person, heck she would at times defend desmond from shauns little playground insults as funny as they were. But theres a lot more too her than just your everyday friendly girl, shes an elite Assassin in the intelligence department, her passion is what makes her strive to take the creeds tech game to another level thus giving the assassins the edge over the templars.

Shaun: that one friend in the group who always had the best jokes & insults, Shauns main purpose in Assassins Creed 2 was to roast the shit out of us every time that he had the chance, and guess what ? we loved every single bit of it. He is Humorous, Egotistical, Smart, basically he has all the qualities to qualify as the perfect frenemy.

Lucy: Highly trained in Combat and Well educated, Lucy is someone who you wouldn't want to mess with, but she is defiantly someone who you would want to make acquaintance with for as she is smart, warm, and is willing to help you with whatever is troubling you. The irony is that she was able to help Desmond in his training but she couldn't even help herself to fight the demons within her, but thats where our boy Desmond comes into play, desmond is constantly there to talk to Lucy whenever she is at her lowest, any time that she feels guilty about the Subject 16 incident, desmond is always there to support her which is very wholesome of him.

As you progress through the game you truly feel connected to these characters, as you interact with them more, they reveal more about themselves, your knowledge about these characters increases as well as your relationship with them too.

    Desmonds Crew in AC Brotherhood:

This is where the bond and friendship between these group young adults peak, this is where they start to comfortably talk to each other like friends, they know each other properly now, they are fond with each other, they've been through so much together as well as living with one another for quite a long period of time that they're beginning to consider each other as family instead of just co workers. The small interactions were as great as ever, Rebecca showing off her optimism as usual, Lucy warming up to desmond as we all hoped, and shaun being the usual Asshole that we all know in love while also beginning to see eye to eye with desmond as well. And the emails, dont even get me started with the emails, i would always heavily anticipate for a new set of email after every sequence, its always a pleasure to see them exchange compliments and occasionally insults to each other via email, they would argue on whos doing the laundry, whos getting the food/supplies, whos turn is it to do this and that, its great ! my favorite emails were when Rebecca lost her MP3 player & when the group was teasing lucy by calling her a templar lol. they act like theyre in an actual group chat, its really appealing to read their emails. But of course, with every peak, the highest point of a mountain always its inevitable downfall, after a months of building a close relationship with one another, it all fell apart with the death of Lucy Stillman.

    Desmonds Crew in AC3:

things weren't the same since Lucy died, the group is no longer happily interacting with each other as they once did, they talk like acquaintances now, not as friends. The fire that was within the group has died down ever since the death of lucy. I always like to think that Lucy was the glue that held the crew together, she is what keeps the crew organized and well ordered, her genuine care & compassion for her crew is what keeps the team from falling apart shes the leader that brought everyone together and with her death, something within the group also died as well. things aren't the same anymore, theres an aura of depression & a sense of Decay within the group now.

i wish things turned out different

Finally got around to playing AC Rogue and it is pretty freakin' amazing. (Beginning spoilers)

    Posted: 15 Aug 2020 01:58 PM PDT

I've been putting it off because 1. It came out late on PC and 2. I didn't know how interested I would be in a Templar game. But I just got past the point where the assassin's basically betray Shay and the creed and it's actually a really interesting story. I also really like Shay as a character so far.

The kit and your ship are also really fun. The air rifle is pretty cool and the puckle gun is too. Also the throwback to AC brotherhood with assaulting hideouts and renovating the town is great.

But I think the best thing about Rogue is how you we're basically using all we've learned from 10+ years of AC games against the assassins. We know they hide in haystacks and benches and everything because that's we've been doing. So it's really fun to turn that around on them.

Anyway yeah, it's a good game.

Any theories as to where the Isu came from?

    Posted: 15 Aug 2020 05:09 PM PDT

All we know about the Isu is that they were an advanced prehistoric civilization that lived on Earth, but were wiped out after the First Coming, which was an actual supervolcanic eruption that wiped out LOTS and LOTS of species, maybe did wipe out a prehistoric advanced civilization for all we know.

The thing is, where they came from before that was never told. Any theories as to where they came from?

    The Only Unsolved Cryptogram (Help?)

    Posted: 15 Aug 2020 11:41 PM PDT

Many of you know my work, so I'll try to speed along as much as I can, but this one's a doozy. Every rift, every glyph, every blood message, every. Single. puzzle that has ever been included in ANYTHING Assassin's Creed has been solved. That is, save for one: George Washington's Cryptogram.

In the UK steelbook special edition for ACIII, George Washington's Notebook was included. A slim little book, chronicling the inner thoughts of George Washington during a few key moments in his life leading up to the game as well as his time with Connor. The book came with what I originally thought were heavy misprints in my copy I recently bought online. Several pages were "uncut", with some pages even trapped between two uncut ones. This was actually a clever ruse on Ubisoft's/the "author's" part. These uncut pages hid George Washington's coded pages for Masonic messages, and in leaving them uncut, the less-keen might pass over these secrets in a regular read.

Upon finding this out, I did the due diligence of going into its page on the fandom wiki, where some very kind soul had typed up every single bit of text shown throughout, including each of the several cryptogram puzzles and their solutions. Except for - you guessed it! - the one I'm about to talk about, which is the first one for those interested in a read themselves. All the others as I said were solved by whoever posted the full text online, so it's odd this one's remained a mystery...

It begins with Washington's entry for 10th December, 1754, where he's explaining how Masons would often use some sort of literature both parties to a coded message would have to decode with. In this instance, Washington gives the reader an article from some sort of botany book. George Washington states "For example, this text about saffron is enough to decypher the coded message on the next page." Typical explanation of one kind of crytogram. This "next page" was the first of the uncut. The saffron article preceding it reads as follows:

Crocus Sativus saffron is a plant taken from the Orient. This bulb grows in June and produces a flower that quickly sprouts three elongated stigmas. The flowers are harvested by hand. Once the root has been seperated and the stigmas dried, the latter are turned into a powder of great value. It allows for much freedom of use in cooking, and is much in demand as a spice or colorant that can be employed in medicinal preparations.

The actual next page depicted a sketched image of the Masonic All-Seeing Eye, with the following page bearing the coded message. It features 4 concentric circles with strings of numbers forming these rings. The rings when written out read:

    >>> 30 - 54 - 80 - 94 - 11 - 09 - 304 - 55 - 34 - 75 - 654 - 45 - 124 - 37 - 59 - 76 - 45 - 456 - 45 - 22 - 12 - 45 - 78 - 654 - 11 - 23 - 45 - 67 - 34 - 83 -

    >>> 65 - 54 - 102 - 34 - 48 - 88 - 94 - 14 - 34 - 02 - 37 - 307 - 34 - 45 - 37 - 78 - 65 - 99 - 54 - 604 - 123 - 37 - 66 - 94 - 403 -

    >>> 28 - 354 - 16 - 09 - 60 - 28 - 07 - 86 - 12 - 01 - 91 - 20 - 11 - 98 - 12 - 06 - 65 - 24 - 105 - 65 - 302 - 45 -

    >>> 414, 14, 56, 16, 510, 23, 211, 37, 410, 310, 17, 413, 85, 412 (<This last one used commas instead of dashes between numbers, not sure of the significance)

Now, I'm no expert, but I'm no amateur when it comes to coded puzzles, and seeing as all the others are solved except this one, I solemnly decided to cut open that section of my copy to verify the numbers myself so I could set to finding a solution.

The first thing I noticed was the highest number mentioned, 654. This gave me the idea that maybe it's as simple as a character-based system, though a LOOOONG one at that high. I counted and separated characters by 10s like so:

    Crocus Sati|vus saffron| is a plant ta|ken from the| Orient. This| bulb grows i|n June and pr|oduces a flo|wer that qui|ckly sprout1|s three elon|gated stigm|as. The flowe|rs are harve|sted by hand.| Once the roo|t has been se|parated and| the stigmas| dried, the la2|tter are tur|ned into a po|wder of grea|t value. It al|lows for muc|h freedom of| use in cooki|ng, and as muc|h in demand a|s a spice or c3|olorant tha|t can be empl|oyed in medi|cinal prepa|rations.

This comes out to only 348 characters, not really close to the 654 we need to get to somehow. So I tried by characters INCLUDING spaces and punctuation. It looks like so:

    Crocus Sat10

But as you see, this only gets us up to 430 (evenly...weird...), so still not up to that 654. I tried a few lines with both styles anyway, thinking maybe the excess numbers could be filled in with context clues, but neither method seemed to make sense. I'm at a loss, but I know there are SO many smarter sleuths out there than I in this community.

Can anyone shed light on the last unsolved puzzle in Assassin's Creed?

what is your take on Fedrico's Quote "it is a good life we lead brother" in AC2

    Posted: 15 Aug 2020 12:08 PM PDT

My Take: for me it is to foreshadow future events that will change the shape of Ezios character.

" it is a good life we lead, may it never change" = his life changed ever since the hanging of his father and brothers

'' and may it never change us '' = The death of the auditores both changed ezios life for the better or worse, we can say that thanks to this, he grew to become a much wiser person than his once arrogant and entitled noble self but it also really fucked him up as well, he was never really happy since then

is the purpose of that quote meant to foreshadow ezios future ? please correct me if im wrong, i would love to hear ur feedback and takes. Thanks

    UK Amazon listings for Valhalla

    Posted: 15 Aug 2020 05:50 PM PDT

With Amazon UK listing Valhalla, Watch Dogs and Far Cry for PS5 all for between £5-£8 more expensive than the PS4 versions. Why would anyone purchase a physical copy for PS5 when they could save money by buying the PS4 version and getting the free upgrade on PS5?

Has Ubisoft confirmed how any enhanced upgrade is working? Is it just me that's a bit confused about it. Is a PS4 copy that gets upgraded, the exact same as a retail PS5 copy or will there be incentives like extras to get people to pay that extra £5-£9?

What do you think about Assassins Creed Valhalla’s Random encounter side quest system?

    Posted: 15 Aug 2020 08:40 PM PDT

I am so exited to see these in the game! Ac Origins And Odyssey both had a problem with checklist and grindy side quests but now the pain is over. Red Dead Redemption 2 handled these really well and Valhalla can hopefully do it even better with blending them into the world. What do you guys think?

How about Jean Guesdon? (creative director)

    Posted: 15 Aug 2020 07:01 AM PDT

He left AC now, but I think he can go back to this series if necessary.

He understands this series well, has affection for the series, and all of the projects he has participated in have received favorable reviews. If Ashraf's dismissal leaves a vacuum, I think he's the best choice to fill it. What do you think?

(Additional question) Why did Ashraf become a more recognizable developer than Jean? He was the game director of the 4 and Origins, not the creative director. While other works are well known as creative directors, 4 and Origins were not. Do you have a reason? I've always wondered about this part.
