Marie Jasmin à la maison (previous Ubisoft employee) confirms that Aya was supposed to be the main character in Assassin's Creed: Origins

    Posted: 21 Jul 2020 09:14 AM PDT

I started replaying Black Flag the other day after about 2 months/150+ hours playing Odyssey, and it was the best decision I’ve ever made.

    Posted: 21 Jul 2020 03:53 PM PDT

Odyssey is such a massive goddamn map, every nook and cranny is several hundreds of meters apart from each other.

I had to mentally prepare myself for another few months long playthrough of Black Flag because I remember that map being huge too, but everything so far seems so much closer in comparison to Odyssey that I might be able to 100% every island on this game with little difficulty.

What's your opinion on constant ambient music?

    Posted: 21 Jul 2020 02:35 PM PDT

We haven't had constant ambient music since AC4. They've opted to let the players listen the natural surroundings most of the time-which works perfectly if the game is set in a dense setting where you can have many NPC chatter, noises and so on in the background to make it more lively. Lack of ambient music in Unity & Syndicate didn't trouble me because the city was so lively with NPC and other background noises.

But in a game where the world is huge and have a very few dense cities/villages, it just doesn't make sense to not have an option for constant ambient music. Running through vast landscape where you only hear some birds chirp, foliage sway and tiny snippets of music is not that immersive. I always like to compare running through AC3 frontier and TW3 Skellige forest. Background ambient really helps in immersion aspect of the game.

Many of us enjoyed the ambient music from Altair, Ezio and Edward's time and they still remains some of the best soundtracks of the series. Since Jesper is back it would be a good time to have constant ambient music back as well. Plus EINAR man. If I don't hear soft hum of Einar or his Tagelharpe while exploring, then Viking experience is reduced by 50%. Sadly I don't see many players requesting this feature to Ubisoft. Despite not getting any response from the dev regarding this concern, hope is still up.

    I made eivor's hidden blade

    Posted: 21 Jul 2020 10:44 AM PDT

If You Could Choose 3 Assassin’s to recruit into your own Brotherhood who would you choose and why?

    Posted: 21 Jul 2020 01:46 PM PDT

    Eivors gender and norse mythology.

    Posted: 21 Jul 2020 09:11 PM PDT

Now THIS will be a weird post but one worth at least discussing. To be frank I am pretty confident eivor will ability to change his or her gender will just be an animus trick and not something that bares any significance to the historical section but just to give the other option the benefit of the doubt id thought I'd theory craft about something. Assuming it has something to do with a ahem gender bending piece of eden it would be interesting to see how they incorporate it into the norse pantheon. Usually pieces of eden are inspired by some sort of legend at the time (I believe their was a Caribbean folklore about a thing similar to the observatory) so we'd need to find something similar to that in the norse pantheon which... yeah isn't difficult. Loki is a stupid easy example with him getting pregnant more times than the average woman but I realized we would need something physical to attribute this to. I dont think theyd go with a "eivor has a high isu count which let's him swap sex" so let's assume eivor at one point finds a ahem gender bending piece of eden. That's when I went digging and found that in one norse folklore Loki changes sex by eating a witches heart, a heart of eden is very possible and could be stretched to let evior do it. Than like assassins creed does facts would turn to fiction and eivors experience would be fictionalized into lokis experience. Or like again I'm 80% sure on it'll just be an animus technique that has nothing to do with 9th century England. But hey still find to make wild theories.

Most memorable quotes in Assassin’s Creed?

    Posted: 21 Jul 2020 08:21 PM PDT

A couple come to mind, Edward Kenway's speeches during assassinations are always rife with depth and badassery. Ezio's confession to Rosa in AC2, when he laments about how he was so young when his family was killed and how he dived into the life of an Assassin without knowing the risks. Very humanizing and vulnerable. Or when Ezio is explaining "nothing is true and everything is permitted" to Sofia as they enter The Library. Or Connor and his reason for continuing fighting and his speculation on how the Revolution is fought for the 'freedom of the people...but for whom?'

I think I'd have to with Ezio in the library. Finding no treasure or great mysteries lying wait, just Altair in his chair. His call to Desmond across centuries is powerful. He realizes he's just a key, an asset, a drop in the bucket of celestial players. But he calls out to Desmond and recognizes his importance and insignificance. Great ending to his character imo.

I'd love to hear what you guys think!

    an assasin creed in Mexico

    Posted: 21 Jul 2020 05:34 PM PDT

This is an idea that has been around my head for some time and I would like to talk about historical scenarios that would be a great location for an AC.

the second Mexican empire (1864-1867): this period arose after the French intervention in the country and was characterized by the presence of 2 important figures Maximiliano de Hamsburgo and Benito Juarez

It is a very little known period in the history of Mexico and at the same time a very interesting one where the line of morality between both sides is not defended on the one hand we have a humanist monarch and on the other a president who has been removed from power and who now wanders with a traveling government that could lead to an interesting plot where there are neither good nor bad only victims and people manipulated by both assassins and Templars

for the historical time one would think that it could be similar to Syndicate but nothing further from the reality this period mexico was a country nor close to being industrial and fragmented by political ideas

    the cristero war (1926 – 1929 ):

Simplifying much in this period, the religion was persecuted by the Mexican government, which led to the creation of civil groups consisting of christians who protected priests and churches from the government.

In this situation you will have a very well defined map because this war developed mainly in the states of the center of the country such as Guanajuato and Queretaro so we would have green valleys, forests, semi deserts to explore in terms of history, this could try that this religious persecution is a templar experiment and the protagonist trying to find out why this action

and I did not want to mention the Mexican revolution as it is already well-commented and well-known story scenarios and I tried to talk about not so well-known but equally interesting historical periods

Assassin's Creed in an alternate universe where Unity was delayed

    Posted: 21 Jul 2020 10:28 AM PDT

2014 - Rogue is launched in a more polished and bigger way. It is however advertised as a smaller entry and the fan base gets that.

A sort of Revelations to tie up loose ends. There is some criticism but with good marketing the consumer base understands the next year will be the full fledged AC on the new gen.

Lisbon is an explorable city in the game and there is more time in the story to explain the nuanced differences between the Assassins and the templars.

2015 - Unity is released after spending one year in polish mode. While there is some criticism to its story, critics marvel at the best city ever made in a game and how stable it is technically.

2016 - Syndicate is released and because there was no REEE reaction to Unity the graphics aren't dialed back and the story and ambience fits the dark atmosphere of Victorian England.

AC gets more and more defined as a serious franchise with interesting themes.

2017 - Origins is released. It featured the first mega open world in the franchise but maintains Darby as the writer.

As a result, the Juno plot line is brought back, our modern assassin is a descendant of Bayek and we witness not just the birth of the order but also the birth of the creed in a philosophical way, just like Darby is known for.

2018 - Odyssey is made and in this alternate universe it tells the origin of the templars in ancient Greece.

The writing isn't as strong as Origins but it continues the tale of the origins of the factions in the franchise and also shows how our modern assassin not only is descendant of Bayek but also from the founder of the Templar order, shown to be Kassandra. A lineage that is more important than Desmond's..

We learn that the origins of the templars were noble as Kassandra wanted the order fight for good but with time it got corrupted.

There are no choices in this game because in this universe Unisoft fired the sexual harassers and incompetent producers that want to copy the Witcher 3 and instead allowed for linear stories but in bigger worlds.

2020 - the final game in the origins trilogy. We now have a game in the city of Rome, done by the Unity team.

In this game we explore the origins of the instruments of Juno and our modern assassin finally takes down Juno in the modem day.

This game features the most modern day content ever in an AC, almost a game on itself.

Rome is described as the best city in a game, the plot is once again written by Darby and the narrative and philosophy echoes works like the Gladiator.

    Side stuff

The Assassins Creed Movie fails nonetheless due to Hollywood's failure in understanding the themes of AC.

This however opens up the possibility for one young writer/director called GreenArrow194 to develop a TV show based on AC featuring both historical and modern elements.

The show is released to absolute critical acclaim by the media, with Emmy buzz and deep analysis of its themes.

The chosen period is the age of discovery and the conquistadores. The time of the first global empire and the first Templar created nation, Portugal, warring for global dominion with Spain.

    (lmao)

Do people still want an AC game in WW2?

    Posted: 21 Jul 2020 04:17 PM PDT

Honestly i think they could make it work. It gets confusing when it comes to Churchill because he was in favour of the assassins then templar's but i feel they could give him a good reason for his change of mind.

However i'm sure the game could get a media backlash lmao

Is there still, any way, to get the Dual Cleavers in Assassins Creed Black Flag?

I was looking at some exclusive DLC for Assassins Creed Black Flag and saw that, way back in 2015 and 14, Dr Pepper were advertising Black Flag by putting a Code for the cleavers on the cans you purchase. And was just wondering if there was still any other way to get the Dual Meat cleavers and also Haytham Kenways Outfit?

All the animals of Assassin's Creed: Origins

    Posted: 21 Jul 2020 12:48 AM PDT

So long story short-whenever I play any videogames, I like to look for all the wildlife in those particular games. Basically I think myself as a Nat Geo photographer on the search for animals.AC games in particular piqued my interest A LOT.AC 3, AC 4, Rogue, Origins and Odyssey all had a vast amount of in-game fauna. This is the first part of my series covering the in-game animals of videogames(staying true to my username lol), where I think I've managed to cover all the fauna of AC Origins. Egypt was an incredible place to explore and in total, I managed to find 53 species there. Here's the complete list, along with images of the species-

Caravaggio could have been introduced as an Assassin or Templar

    Posted: 21 Jul 2020 01:33 PM PDT

The dude was an Italian painter in the late 1500s. He was arrested on numerous occasions for illegally carrying swords or daggers, and at one point murdered someone with a group of other people. (The reason for the murder is unknown). He was arrested but escaped, and eventually died under mysterious circumstances at a beach. The official account is of a fever, but a lot of historians seem to think he was murdered.

Maybe it's just me, but I feel like that's a lot of room to work with.

New character each time or a keep the same one?

    Posted: 21 Jul 2020 01:32 PM PDT

Would you prefer to have what they are doing now where it is a different playable character each game or something similar to II, Brotherhood and Revelations where it is the same character?

Personally id like a character for more than one game, Bayek had an interesting story that could of continued and so did Kassandra, Edward and Connor etc.

Even Altair appeared in more than one game

Do I really need to have full sync for the tombs in AC: Brotherhood?

Does it really matter if I have good sync for everything else? Side note: these catacombs are so well done and literally my nightmare come to life because I've read so many stories of people getting lost in them.

Nothing is True, Everything is Permitted

    Posted: 21 Jul 2020 05:53 PM PDT

To say that "Nothing is True" is to realize that the world is not absolute and that their is no "TRUTH," and we must take charge of our own kingdoms.

To say that "Everything is Permitted" is to understand that we alone are the composers of our choices and actions, and we must carry the weight of their results, whether they would flourish or bring ruin.

(This is my interpretation of The Creed, I follow The Creed and believe in it strongly)
