AC Brotherhood - Timelapse of Rome

Update on my painful mission for 100% in Assassin’s Creed 3 Remastered: I did it.

    Posted: 27 May 2020 09:58 PM PDT

I finally did it. I managed to do it. Thank you to everyone who helped me on this mission that made me want to punch myself in the nose. I have completed all of the story missions on 100% Full Sync. As well as all of the plates, paintings, the Aquila statue, and all of the Hunting Society mementos, all weapons, completed all of the challenges and became a member of all of the clubs, liberated all of the colonies and raised my recruits to Assassin rank, and got all of the flags. After this painful experience, I never want to go through that again. So again, thank you to everyone who helped me. I truly appreciate it.

Valhalla should at the very least, feel artistically very different from Origins and Odyssey

    Posted: 27 May 2020 10:04 PM PDT

I played Odyssey first and I am only now playing towards the end of Origins at the moment. I understand now how Odyssey and Origins were developed simultaneously. A lot of the art assets and structure design were extremely similar to one another as Origins, despite being in Egypt, took place during a time when Greek influence and their buildings flourished across. This obviously helped a lot with the development of the two games and as a player, I can't but get a sensation of deja vu every time I traversed across the Greek structures.

With Valhalla, we are far away from ancient Greece and Egypt. The backdrop of post-Christianity England and Norway should have a very different artistic feel and structure to the buildings. Honestly, that alone got me pretty excited. Even if the core of the game remains the same, the new timeline and continent should be a breath of fresh air from the past two games.

We don't often talk about this, but I think Al Mualim had one of the best Assassin outfit.

If they make AC1 remaster, it would be great to have Al Mualim's outfit as a option to use.

I replayed AC origins main story and i really wish bayek got his sequel

    Posted: 27 May 2020 03:43 PM PDT

I just miss him, easily the best AC protagonist out of the next gen games, and i just wish he got a sequel, he's the most deserving out of any of the charcters for me.

He actually has an good arc and backstory and has a good reason for why he's doing it... (Looking at you syndicate)

Dudes just got a lovable feel, he's a true assassin that wants everyone to be safe and have freedom in egypt

Honestly don't understand they could've put him in odysseys setting.

I gotta say after replaying unity and getting into the DLC it really is IMO the best feeling assassins creed in terms of gameplay, it also reminded me how much I enjoyed and miss being able to jump through someone’s window lmao

    Posted: 27 May 2020 04:19 PM PDT

Don't get me wrong I have loved every assassins creed game since but It just feels like an actual assassins creed game. Syndicate is pretty damn good too but something about these big crowds and being able to slowly walk through them and get to your target. And obviously the parkour is just top notch, I really hope to see some parkour on this level in Valhalla but I won't hold my breath

Replaying Black flag forgot how utterly infuriating it was to be constantly chased by guards

    Posted: 27 May 2020 05:41 PM PDT

It takes forever to lose them, spend my first 20 minutes in Havana just running away from guard keep arousing suspicion on rooftops and shit. Never ever bring that back.

If you could pick any Assassin's Creed title to get a sequel (besides ezio obv) what game would you pick and why?

    Posted: 27 May 2020 09:52 PM PDT

The question is pretty straight forward lol I'd probably pick 3 because I definitely feel like there's more to tell with Conner after the events of 3. Probably have him go down south or something along those lines.

Can I just say I'm sad I didn't fall in love with the series earlier?

    Posted: 28 May 2020 01:08 AM PDT

I've never actually played through an entire intro of an rpg before because I never had a system that could support most games so just never got into them. I got a ps4 about a week ago ( yes I know the ps5 is coming out this year but ps4s are pretty cheap rn and for a non gamer it just made sense for a try at that price ) and I randomly got Syndicate as my first game because it was $8.

I'm not very far im only like 5% in but I honestly really enjoy it. Maybe it just holds a special place for me because its the first rpg I've braved through an intro and more.. After reading more about assassin creed games I saw Syndicate wasn't a fan favorite but that makes me excited that to know there's better to try. I just love the game play and being an assassian its just pretty badass to me. Scaling walls, delivering mean head shots from rooftops all in a historic setting where they introduce real characters from that time period is so freaking cool to me. I almost want to buy all the others that are on sale rn on ps4 just for backup before they become full price again but I feel like I'm getting ahead of myself since I'm still so early in the game.

    Annoying Mission in Black Flag

    Posted: 28 May 2020 12:00 AM PDT

I'm currently playing through Black Flag again and while I love the game, there's one mission I can't stand. It's the mission where you have to find James Kidd in Tulum. I understand the need to remain undetected but with the stealth physics in this game, its extremely difficult. And when I'm detected at the last part of an area and sent back to the beginning, its extremely annoying to do it all again. But maybe I'm just bad at it

Assassin's Creed Valhalla Doesn't Use the Origins and Odyssey Loot System

    Posted: 27 May 2020 11:50 PM PDT

As we've come to expect of an upcoming Assassin's Creed game, gameplay details are slowly starting to emerge as we creep closer and closer to the next blowout. This latest eyebrow-raiser comes courtesy of the Offical Playstation Magazine, which features an in-depth look at Assassin's Creed Valhalla in its newest issue.

Based on the words of narrative director Darby McDevitt, it sounds like Valhalla won't be adopting the randomised loot system found in Assassin's Creed Origins and Assassin's Creed Odyssey. McDevitt tells the publication: "Every piece of gear is unique in the game and [can be] upgraded extensively so that when you find a piece of gear, you're excited and you celebrate it, and that can stay with you for quite a long time."

He adds: "It can be viable for quite a long time. So it's quite a different approach than the previous games took."

Indeed, we get the distinct impression that Ubisoft doesn't want Valhalla to be perceived as a grind-heavy open world RPG -- a criticism often aimed at Origins and Odyssey. The Official PlayStation Magazine brings some context to McDevitt's comments, writing: "The lootbox system that featured in Origins and Odyssey appears to be gone; instead new unique weapons and gear are earned and valued, and most can be used throughout the entire game."

While we don't know exactly how different this overhauled loot system is, it's clearly a departure from the two previous Assassin's Creed games. Does this change sound good to you? Don't forget to pick up some new equipment in the comments section below.

This is the confirmed Quest Structure in AC Valhalla

    Posted: 27 May 2020 07:29 AM PDT

As per the latest Darby Mcdevitt playstation magazine interview

side quests can develop into longer stories inspired by Shakespearean plays, where it evolves over five-acts".

This is how the 5-act structure plays:

Act 1: Here, the audience learns the setting (Time/Place), characters are developed, and a conflict is introduced.

Act 2:The action of this act leads the audience to the climax. It is common for complications to arise, or for the protagonist to encounter obstacles.

Act 3:This is the turning point of the play. The climax is characterized by the highest amount of suspense.

Act 4:The opposite of Rising Action, in the Falling Action the story is coming to an end, and any unknown details or plot twists are revealed and wrapped up.

Act 5:This is the final outcome of the drama. Here the authors tone about his or her subject matter is revealed, and sometimes a moral or lesson is learned.

    Extracted from : https://www.storyboardthat.com/articles/e/five-act-structure

Darby is single-handedly reviving what was once the beauty of this franchise, the story and exemplary narration. You the best thing that happened to AC Valhalla darby!

As gorgeous as Origins map turned out, it's horrifying places to showcase the focus on death in Egypt really deserve a shoutout

As gorgeous as Origins map turned out, it's horrifying places to showcase the focus on death in Egypt really deserve a shoutout

Egypt mythology, major focus on death and how it affects people played a good role in the game in general.

Now fitting to that, Ubisoft included some truly bone chilling locations in the game that make ya go from beautiful Ancient Egypt straight into a horror move, and they truly stand out, here are 2 similar examples (photos done by me) :

    https://preview.redd.it/47ccpa4ibd151.png?width=1360&format=png&auto=webp&s=2bbb8183c513f264ffa689cec4a2efa130e73c61

And let's not forget all the other caves/locations with mummies laying around like dirt on the ground, two great other examples I didn't take shots of I can think of is a tomb cave with a water section with like 50 corpses on the ground, or the cave of Set in the Hidden One's DLC in Sinai with the open corpse being worked on.

Locations like these really give a great contrast to the usual overworld and fit the theme of the setting and story very well!

I hope we get cool ways of assassinating targets in Valhalla

    Posted: 27 May 2020 06:44 PM PDT

I thought of this last night but wouldn't it be cool if instead of just stabbing a high profile target in the back, you could assassinate them in other ways such as like let's say you have to assassinate some lord Templar of a castle and he's holding a giant feast/ball and you have to find a way to attend this feast and then there's a way to poison his wine without getting caught, but to get the poison you have to find some guy in town and he sends you on some quest to find an herb you'll need to make the poison. Maybe also you have to meet some character through a side quest who is a noble who can bring you to the feast with them as a returned favor to a quest you did for them earlier on. I was going to message Ashraf Ismali on twitter but turns out I couldn't so I'm here on reddit, but I think some cool options for assassinating targets would be absolutely amazing for this game and I think people would love that instead of just sneaking up behind someone like usual and stabbing him in the back. What do you guys think?
