I'm replaying Origins again and have been farming crafting materials in Lake Mareotis (the one next to Alexandria) for the past hour or so. When I'm done looting a ship or finish fighting a hippo in the middle of the lake, each time, without fail, there's ALWAYS a dude hauling ass straight towards me in his little boat if I don't have one near by. It's one of the small and amusing things about Origins that makes this game special.

The Ezio Trilogy is a masterpiece in story telling and character development.

    Posted: 30 Mar 2020 11:24 AM PDT

Probably a popular take, been a long time fan of the series but new to the sub. In all my down time provided by the quarantine, I have played through the entire ezio trilogy (which was on sale at a very generous discount) again after about 5 or so years and I cannot believe how well these games hold up. Sure the dialogue is a bit corny and dramatic, and the parkour can be clunky, but where else can you find a story so multifaceted and deeply woven as this while also feeling like renaissance era John Wick. Ezio is one of the most flushed out and easily recognizable characters in all of gaming, which is something you dont find very often. His personality also reminds me a lot of John Wick in his later years, he doesnt say much, stoic, remorseful yet calculated and ruthless to his enemies. No other character comes close to him except maybe Altair and Edward Kenway.

In defense of the Frye Twins, especially Jacob Frye!

    Posted: 30 Mar 2020 03:08 AM PDT

So, apparently, most of this sub doesn't like the Frye Twins, especially Jacob and Syndicate's lighthearted tone. They seem to think that Jacob is basically a stand-up comedian and is nothing more than jokes. That couldn't be further from truth. The Frye Twins are some of the most relatable protagonists in AC.

People have criticized that Ubisoft always recycles the same revenge plot over and over again and that no father/son in the AC universe is safe. Behold, the Frye Twins, who had a loving father who died peacefully of natural causes!

"But that's outrageous! Then what is their motivation to be Assassins since the can't get revenge on someone?"

Simple. Make their father proud and simply helping people.

Seriously, how many of us in our teens haven't dreamed of having the capability to defend the weak from opressors? To make a difference? The Frye Twins are the embodiment of this feeling - they want to help people, not because they want revenge but simply because that's the right thing to do. Sure, it might have less personal stakes but since no one has ever murdered any member of my family (except my grandpa, but I never knew know him), it made them way more relatable to me.

The Twins also complement each other - people talk how great is Evie but she needs Jacob. Since she likes to plan everything, she can get very hesitant. This is where Jacob's impulsiveness comes in handy. You can see that she was super hesitant in going to London because that would be breaking the rules of their mentor but when Jacobs convices her, you can see her face lit up with happiness and, in the end, Jacob was right. Of course his impulsiveness can be negative, but that's where Evie comes in, like when she saved UK's economy.

Also, Jacob isn't making jokes 24/7 as most people think. He gets angry and serious when the situation demands it. You can clearly see he is upset when she realizes who Attaway really is and when his little adventure with Maxwell spirals out of control. Also, you can see how broken he is after his pupil Jack turn into a serial killer.

Also, he matures a lot and takes hold of the Brotherhood in London completly alone while his sister decided to fuck off to India with her boyfriend, leaving her brother alone in a place where, although defeated, was still full of templars in the biggest and most important city at the time. You can also see at the beginnning how much he disliked his father restrictive teachings and argues with Evie a lot about him and it also seems not care too much about the Creed and questions it a lot but by the end of the game, he finally understands what his father was trying to teach and embraces the Creed fully, becoming a true Assasin.

You can see how much he has helped people, from his pupils in the Brotherhood, to Scotland Yard and even prostitutes. Whenever they needed help, Jacob Frye was the guy!

To conclude, Jacob Frye is an amazing dude and a hero and just because he has a funny side, that doesn't make him less of a protagonist compared to the other AC games and people focus way too much on his flaws to criticize him, while completly ignoring the good parts he has and the good he has done.

(On the plus side, the Frye Twins are easily some of the hottest protagonists we have!)

[SPOILER] I finished AC: Black Flag for the first time today, and the appeal finally makes sense.

    Posted: 30 Mar 2020 08:10 PM PDT

Ive owned AC4 for years because it was free for Xbox Live Gold members on the 360 many years ago, and I played it about halfway through, but never finished it. A mix of being busy, having other games to play, and just lacking interest in the game made me drop it for years. Now, school has been cancelled for me, and I noticed the Rogue Bundle was $20 on the Switch, so I finally decided to give it a fair second chance.

And damn I'm glad I did. I realize now that I quit the story before it had a chance to truly shine.

The stark reality of Kenway losing his friends to disagreements, betrayal, and death is quite relatable, and makes the story feel much closer to home. His development over the years as someone seeking personal gain to seeking self redemption just works so well for a pirate. And seeing him rewarded for his efforts to reform himself created a very sweet end to what is quite a tragic tale. The character development as a whole is just fantastic in Kenway's story. The game surely has its flaws, but I see why its held in such high regards despite those setbacks.

If Assassin's Creed was a TV Show - Season 2 [Spoilers for AC2]

    Posted: 30 Mar 2020 04:20 PM PDT

[CLICK HERE FOR MY FIRST POST]

    Hello everyone!

First of all, I want to thank you for the amazing outpouring of love and support that my previous post got. It seemingly exploded overnight, which is something I wasn't expecting in the slightest. Thank you so much, and I'm so happy all of you enjoyed it so much!

What has it been, half a year? I didn't plan to make you wait this long! Originally I had planned to get this out way sooner, but life was incredibly busy. Now that we're all quarantined, though, I figured this would be a great way to keep us all entertained for a bit.

Sorry for the length! I did not realise how long it actually was until I posted it here.

I will take the opportunity to answer some Q's in the comments of this post.

Without further ado, here's my draft for a TV adaptation of Assassin's Creed II!

ASSASSIN'S CREED: SEASON 2 would be subtitled 'Renaissance'.

EPISODE 1: MAY IT NEVER CHANGE US (Prologue & Sequence 1)
The episode starts on a cold open. Lucy opens the trunk and Desmond crawls out. They enter the warehouse, meet Shaun and Rebecca, and Desmond goes back into the Animus.

We meet our main Assassin for the next 3 seasons: Ezio Auditore. The fight with Vieri happens, the race happens, "It is a good life we lead, brother." happens. Intro sequence. The rest of the episode follows Ezio's story from Sequence 1. We meet Cristina, the Auditore family, Uberto, and Leonardo. The episode ends after the execution of Ezio's father and brothers-- "You better run, boy… and fast."

    EPISODE 2: WHAT GOES AROUND (Sequence 2 & 3)
After Ezio's escape, he and his family find shelter in a brothel. From here, he plans to murder Uberto for what he did to Ezio's family. This includes going to Leonardo Da Vinci to have his hidden blade fixed. He succeeds in assassinating Uberto, making his presence known to the world in the process, and him and his family are forced to flee Florence – before they leave, however, Paola gifts him an Assassin's Seal. On the road they run into Vieri, who is scared off by the arrival of Mario Auditore, Ezio's uncle. He takes Ezio, Maria, and Claudia in to live at his villa in Monterrigione, where he shows Ezio the six seals of Altaïr's armor, and tells him about his quest to obtain them- Mario has one, and Ezio chimes in with the seal he obtained from Paola. (This is somewhat different from the games- inserting a seal to one of the statues not only unlocks part of the defense guarding Altaïrs armor, but the entire Codex is stored behind the bars guarding the armor as well.) Over the course of a year, Mario trains Ezio, and they plot the assassination of Vieri. They attack him in Tuscany, and Ezio assassinates Vieri after eavesdropping on a meeting he has with other members of the Templar conspiracy, such as Francesco and Jacopo de' Pazzi.

After this, Shaun pulls Desmond out of the Animus. When he questions why, Shaun shows him the footage of Ezio killing Vieri, and puts focus on a mysterious symbol on the tower in the background. Desmond recognises the symbol – these are the symbols that were drawn on his bedroom wall at Abstergo. Shaun explains that it's a cluster of data, which he believes to be left behind by an external force – someone who hacked the Animus. Through scanning, he has found a bunch more of these symbols scattered across Renaissance Italy, and he adds that Rebecca has helpfully made them glow. The episode ends as he requests Desmond be on the lookout for them, as he believes there could be some encrypted Abstergo data hidden in them.

EPISODE 3: IN FOXES' CLOTHING (Sequence 4)
(Starting in this episode, glowing symbols will appear in the background of certain scenes. There should be six in episodes 3, 4, and 6, and there should be two in episode 5.)The episode opens on Desmond, returning to the Animus, with Shaun reminding him that it's been nearly 2 years since Ezio was last in Florence. The Ezio story opens on him visiting Leonardo to get his second hidden blade fixed. As he works, they talk about the Fox, and where Ezio might find him. While tracking him down, his money is stolen, and he chases the thief back to the Fox. They speak, and Ezio races him to Santa Maria Novella, where the Fox tells him about a Seal hidden in the crypt where the Templars are meeting. He makes his way through the secret crypt, eavesdrops on the Templar meeting, and finds the Assassin's Seal. When he comes out, he defends Lorenzo de' Medici from an attack by Francesco de' Pazzi, who he recognises from the meetings. After escorting a wounded Lorenzo to his house, he then asks Ezio to assassinate Francesco, which he does. The episode ends as Francesco's lifeless, naked body is hanged from the church tower by the citizens, scaring Jacopo.

EPISODE 4: WITH FRIENDS LIKE THESE (Sequence 5 & 6)
The episode opens on Ezio, who has a conversation with Lorenzo. He tells him the names of Jacopo's co-conspirators. Ezio hunts them down, one by one, until he finds out Jacopo's location. However, before he can assassinate him, it's revealed to be a trap laid by the Templar Grand Master Rodrigo Borgia, who murders Jacopo. Ezio is then ambushed by guards, but fights them off, and manages to make out Jacopo's final words. With all the Pazzi conspirators dead, Ezio visits Lorenzo to inform him of his next destination: Venice.

The episode ends on Desmond exiting the Animus, Lucy insisting he gets some rest. The four of them eat and hang out for a bit. They talk about how they joined the assassins, and what the other groups are doing, before Shaun and Rebecca head off to bed, leaving Desmond and Lucy alone. Desmond talks some more about his past, they embrace, and fall asleep side-by-side.

EPISODE 5: BLEEDING EFFECT (Training & Sequence 6)
The episode opens on Altaïr. Or rather, a dream Desmond has about Altaïr. In it, Altaïr makes love to Maria Thorpe, the ex-templar from the Funeral Ambush, and Desmond is confused to find that, when Altaïr leaves, the memory stays with Maria. He wakes up, and after a bit of banter between Rebecca, Lucy, and Shaun, the latter tells him there'll be no Animus play until later in the day. When he informs as to why, Rebecca informs him of the side effects of the animus, with Shaun quipping "what we're saying is, if you're not careful, you might not need the animus to visit your ancestors". Lucy tells Desmond not to worry, as he hasn't shown any of the symptoms- but Desmond is a bit worried, because he has. Just now. They talk a short while about Subject 16 before Lucy takes him downstairs to train, to see how much the Bleeding Effect has affected him. During training, Desmond has more hallucinations, and Lucy tells him more about Subject 16. They have another heart-to-heart, and Desmond goes back into the Animus.

(NOTE: This episode needs more original content, but I wanted at least one proper modern-day focused episode this season as we don't see Desmond a lot, and we won't see him a lot next season either.)

Ezio visits Leonardo's workplace, only to find he's moving to Venice- he finds him on the road and they travel together, until their carriage is attacked. Ezio stays behind to fight off the attackers. He meets Leonardo at the docks in Romagna, where he saves Caterina Sforza, who gives him a pass to get on the boat to Venice. They set sail.

EPISODE 6: MERCHANT OF VENICE (Sequence 7)
Ezio and Leonardo arrive in Venice. As they walk to his new studio they get a small tour of the city, during which they see how corrupt and horrible it can be. During the tour, Ezio gets bumped into by Rosa, who has just stolen something and is on the run. Ezio drops Leonardo off at his new workplace and goes to the Palazzo della Seta, to plan his assassination of Emilio Barbarigo. Once he arrives at the Palazzo, he sees Rosa trying to break in, and she gets shot in the leg by an archer. He helps her escape, and brings her to the city's Thieves' Guild, led by Antonio. They discuss the best plan of action, and over the course of several months, they prepare to execute it. Rosa helps Ezio improve his climbing technique, culminating in a race across the Venice rooftops, after which she kisses him. Afterwards, they free some thieves and steals some guard outfits in preparation of their attack on the Palazzo. The thieves disguise themselves as guards to infiltrate the Palazzo, and Ezio assassinates Emilio Barbarigo. The thieves come down from the rooftops, and he kisses Rosa in celebration. In return for his services in freeing the city of Venice, Antonio gifts him another seal, and information about his next target; Carlo Grimaldi.

Desmond is pulled from the Animus by Shaun and Rebecca, who tell him they've found all of the data clusters they could locate. A quick montage is shown of all the clusters – the last one being spotted behind Ezio and Rosa's kiss at the Palazzo – and Rebecca states they've managed to piece it together into a single file, simply labelled "The Truth". The episode ends on Lucy, saying "open it."

    EPISODE 7: CARNEVALE (Sequence 8 & 9)
The episode opens as Desmond & co watch The Truth. It leaves them more confused as Shaun and Rebecca start spinning theories on Adam and Eve, and the existence of a First Civilization, when Desmond butts in. He calls them Those Who Came Before, the name Warren Viddic used back at Abstergo when talking about who created the Pieces of Eden. They want to find out more, and Rebecca opts decrypting and opening the files separately to check for more data, though she states that will take her some time. Desmond heads back into the Animus to follow more of Ezio's story, hoping to find some answers himself.

Ezio's story picks up after the death of Emilio Barbarigo, as he wakes up next to Rosa. They talk about attending the Carnevale together, but Ezio states he has some business to attend to first. He leaves to find Grimaldi, and does so, eavesdropping on a meeting between him, Silvio Barbarigo, Marco Barbarigo, Dante Moro and Rodrigo Borgia. He discovers the planned Assassination of the Doge of Venice, and rushes back to the Thieves' Guild – now comfortably settled in Palazzo della Seta – to discuss a way to prevent it. They agree to help him, but quickly come to realise that the only way into the heavily guarded Palazzo Ducale is from above. Ezio discusses this with Leonardo, who shows him his prototype of a flying machine. They figure out that the way for him to fly all the way to Palazzo Ducale is by lighting fires all over the city, which will create warm air and keep Ezio up in the air. When Ezio arrives at the Palazzo, however, it is already too late- the Doge has been poisoned. Ezio assassinates Carlo Grimaldi, but when the Doge storms down and accuses Grimaldi before dropping dead, the guards wrongly assume he accuses Ezio. They chase him out of the palace, making him the most wanted man in all of Venice.

Ezio flees into Leonardo's workshop to hide. He reassures Leonardo that he did not kill the Doge, and Leonardo provides him with a hidden gun and a mask to blend in during the Carnevale that is going on in Venice right now. He points him towards Sister Teodora. Ezio takes his leave, and meets with Antonio on the La Rosa brothel, where Antonio introduces him to Teodora. He chases and kills a man who just murdered one of the brothel girls, causing Teodora to trust him. She helps him by giving him information on where to obtain a Golden Mask, necessary to attend Marco Barbarigo's Carnevale party – and assassinate him. He competes in the Carnevale Games, winning them all- but through Silvio's foul play, he is beaten out by Dante Moro. Ezio originally plans to kill him to obtain the mask, but Antonio talks him out of it due to the risk of cancelling the party. Instead, he quietly steals the mask, and attends Marco's party while avoiding the guards. Following Teodora's advice, he uses the hidden gun to shoot Marco while the fireworks are going off, and walks out undetected. He returns to Teodora, who thanks him by gifting him a Seal.

    EPISODE 8: ALTER EGOS (Sequence 10 & 11)
Rosa and Ezio discuss the Carnevale coming to an early end, and how they regret not being able to attend the festivities- but there's always next year. During their conversation, a thief approaches, summoning them to the Thieves Guild, where Antonio introduces them to Agostino Barbarigo, the soon to be Doge. Antonio then informs him of the whereabouts of his next target, Silvio Barbarigo, and tasks him with seeking out Bartolomeo d'Alviano. However, as Ezio reaches Bartolomeo's general location, a mortally wounded mercenary on a rooftop informs him that Silvio has taken Bartolomeo captive. Ezio helps him escape, and they fight their way to his house, where he retrieves his sword Bianca. Bartolomeo requests for Ezio to rescue the men that were captured, and place them around the city to cause trouble. This will cause a big response from the guards, leaving the Arsenale – and with it, Silvio and Dante – vulnerable to attack. On Ezio's signal, the plan kicks into action, and sure enough, the Arsenale is left vulnerable. Ezio chases Dante to Silvio, and then both of them to a ship. It turns out the Templars have betrayed them, leaving them for dead. With no other option, they attempt to escape on another ship, together- but Ezio catches up, assassinates them, and they die side by side. In their dying words, they reveal that the ploy to take the Doge's seat was merely a distraction, and that the ship was meant to take them to Cyprus. Ezio returns to Bartolomeo, who thanks him by giving him another seal, and invites him to celebrate their victory- but Ezio declines, focused on Dante and Silvio's cryptic last words.

Several weeks later, Ezio is sitting on a bench, as Rosa approaches. He mentions it's his birthday, and she states she has a gift for him- a shipping manifest. The boat to Cyprus is scheduled to return tomorrow. Ezio kisses her as thanks, only to be interrupted by Leonardo, who asks him to come along. He reveals he's been studying the seals, and has discovered a hidden message, stating that "The Prophet will appear when the second piece is brought to the floating city." Ezio quickly connects the dots, and figures out the ship went to Cyprus to obtain the Piece of Eden and return it to Venice. He meets the ship the following morning, and follows the artefact as it changes hands multiple times- he also notices his uncle, watching the artefact as well. He assassinates a courier and takes his place after hearing that Rodrigo Borgia will be there to obtain the artefact himself. After arriving, he confronts Rodrigo, who reveals that he believes himself to be the prophet. They fight, and Rodrigo taunts him as to where the rest of his people are, confusing Ezio. As he calls the guards to his aid, Uncle Mario and the Fox jump out to Ezio's aid. They are soon followed by Antonio, Rosa, and Bartolomeo. After a long battle, Rodrigo manages to kick Ezio down and escape- without the artefact. Paola and Teodora appear to help him up, and Ezio expresses his confusion. Niccolò Machiavelli appears, explaining to Ezio that they are all Assassins, and they believe him to be the prophet. They take him to the top of a tower, branding his ring finger as he takes an oath, officially joining the Assassin order.

A glitch causes Desmond to wake. Rebecca says the next memory segments appear to be glitched, and she tells Desmond to get some rest while she works on restoring them. As he goes to sleep, he has another dream reliving an ancestor's memories- this time, the dream picks up right after the last Animus segment, after Ezio's oath. All of the assassins take a leap of faith off the tower, Ezio being the last to jump.

EPISODE 9: BONFIRE OF THE VANITIES (Sequence 12 & Discovery & Sequence 13)
The episode opens as a visibly nervous Desmond returns to the animus. Experiencing the bleeding effect again the night prior has made him somewhat uncomfortable with the concept of returning to the animus. He considers discussing this with Lucy, but decides against it, and returns to the animus nonetheless.

Ezio, Mario, and Machiavelli are discussing the artefact with Leonardo. Ezio touches the Apple, stunning them all as light erupts to display many unknown images and designs. They agree that to not let the Apple fall into the wrong hands, they will hide it in Forlí, with Caterina Sforza. He travels there with Machiavelli, and Caterina meets them at the docks. As they return to the city, however, they find it under attack by the Orsi brothers – the mercenaries Caterina hired to murder her husband. While Caterina shouts curses at the Orsi, Ezio sneaks into the city to open the gate. The three of them fight their way through the city. As they reach the Rocco, Caterina embraces her children, only to find out from a maid that one of them – Ottaviano – had gone missing during the attack. Afterwards, the Orsi brothers come out, and reveal that they have Ottaviano held captive – and they're willing to trade him for the Apple. Ezio assassinates Ludovico Orsi, and returns Caterina's child. However, Ludovico tells him that "the Maestro gains his prize," implying that the Apple of Eden has been taken. He returns to find Checco Orsi has taken the Apple, leading to Ezio giving chase and assassinating him. His victory is short-lived, however, as Checco stabs him before dying, and Ezio passes out as a monk with a missing ring finger makes off with the Apple.

Several days later, he wakes up in a bed in Forlí to find Caterina sitting beside him. He thanks Caterina one last time before taking off to find the monk. After visiting several abbeys, a monk tells him that the man he is looking for is Girolamo Savonarola. (During this episode we will be heavily implying that Savonarola is a Sage. Foreshadowing!) Ezio sets off to search for Savonarola across Italy, but after months of searching, comes up empty. He returns to Venice, now with a beard, after he receives a letter from Antonio asking for help. Upon arrival, Antonio introduces him to his contact, Luis de Santángel, who represents Cristopher Columbus. Luis asks Ezio for his protection. He is mad at Antonio at first, for making him postpone his search for the apple for such a menial task, but quickly comes around when he hears of Columbus's connection to Rodrigo Borgia. Rosa joins him as they escort Columbus to pick up an atlas. Ezio and Rosa intercept the planned assassination of Columbus, and Luis informs Ezio of the horrible state the Spanish Brotherhood of Assassins is in due to the Spanish Inquisition. Feeling a duty to help them reform and rebuild, as well as potentially discover more about Rodrigo, Rosa decides to return to Spain with them. She and Ezio bid each other farewell, and Rosa sails off across the horizon.

As he watches the ship disappear, Ezio – at last – gets word of Savonarola's whereabouts. It turns out he has used the Apple to control the population of Florence, and take over as their leader. Ezio and friends travel to Florence to take him down. As Machiavelli, La Volpe, and Paola rally the crowd, Ezio assassinates some of Savonarola's closest lieutenants, weakening his grip on the population. He takes the artefact from Savonarola, who is set to be burned alive by the angry mob – until Ezio puts him out of his misery. He gives his speech to the audience, imploring them not to follow him, or anyone else, before walking away.

EPISODE 10: VENI, VIDI, VICI (Sequence 14)
The episode opens as Ezio receives a letter from Rosa, updating him on the situation in Spain. She reveals that she found out Rodrigo Borgia is one of three papal candidates this year, but she does not know why a position like that would possibly interest him. Ezio writes back that they are finally ready to move on Rodrigo, and his motivations will reveal themselves soon enough. He goes downstairs to find all the Assassins gathered around Altaïr's armor, and they use the seals to obtain it. The Assassins decide it is Ezio's to wear, and as he puts it on, he discovers a stack of papers – Altaïr's Codex. Realising it would probably reveal the location of the Vault, they bring it upstairs, where Ezio uses his Eagle Vision to create a map. They put it together on the wall to find out that the location of the Vault is in Rome, leading Ezio to realise that Rodrigo became pope so he would be closer to the location of the Vault. Mario chimes in, leading the group to realise that the Papal Staff is the second Piece of Eden needed to open the Vault, meaning that Rodrigo is way ahead of them in figuring out the mystery of the Vault.

They travel to Rome, where the Assassins cause trouble in the city, giving Ezio the opportunity to finally confront and assassinate Rodrigo Borgia. He enters the Sistine Chapel, where Rodrigo is giving a speech, and attempts to assassinate him with his hidden blade. Rodrigo uses the staff on everyone to avoid his death, causing all except Ezio to collapse. He questions how Ezio manages to resist the power of the artefact, and Ezio replies, "go fuck yourself" before using the apple to split himself into five duplicates. Rodrigo defeats Ezio, takes the Apple, and disappears down the Chapel's secret entrance to the Vault, Ezio in hot pursuit. It doesn't open, however, and the two engage in one final fistfight, with Ezio finally defeating Rodrigo. Ezio states that Rodrigo was never the prophet, and it is now Ezio's turn to uncover the secrets of the Vault. Rodrigo asks him to end his life quickly, but Ezio refuses to kill him, stating he has killed enough, and killing Rodrigo won't bring his family back. Then, he enters the Vault.

An image of a First Civilization member appears before Ezio, greeting him as the Prophet, welcoming him. He shows her the Apple, and she introduces herself as Minerva. Ezio states that they are gods, but she denies that, stating that they "simply came… before." Ezio tells her she's not making sense, but she discards his words, stating that she doesn't wish to speak with him, but through him. "You are the prophet. You played your part." She then continues to reveal the history of the Human-Isu war, and the solar flare that nearly wiped them both out. She speaks of temples, designed by those who turned away from the war, to prevent this disaster from happening again. She then directly addresses Desmond, stating that "the rest is up to you." Her image disappears, and as Ezio is left with more questions than he started with, we hear Desmond's voice as he awakens from the Animus: "What the fuck?"

That was my idea for Season 2 of my wonderful hypothetical Assassin's Creed TV Show! I'm loving writing these and I'd love to continue. I feel like especially these next 2 seasons have incredible potential to expand on the lore beyond the games, and I've also figured out what to do with the games post AC III. This means my current plan for the show would span 10 seasons. Exciting?

I would love Ubisoft to make an RPG game that was as historically accurate as possible without AC.

    Posted: 30 Mar 2020 04:16 PM PDT

I love Assassins' creed don't get me wrong. But just starting to play Odyssey I began to think how amazing a historically accurate version of these games would be. Without trying to be assassins' creed, those fucking unimmersive bullshit future segments and Isu wankers. And whilst Odyssey was historically accurate in the sense of the plot the weapons, war and even small things (like the war fights which are just so wrong historically but damn fun) are holding it back.

Just the idea of killing historical characters and learning who fucked who would be so much fun.

    AC2 - Sequence 12 & 13

    Posted: 30 Mar 2020 06:43 PM PDT

I know this has been brought up here before, but I can't seem to find these two anywhere. I know they are DLC, but I can't find it anywhere. Steam and uplay don't have it, and every time I search it, I get posts from 10 years ago. Do you have to buy the Ezio collection just to get the DLC? Thanks!

Rant: Ezio Collection and ACII 100%

    Posted: 30 Mar 2020 11:51 PM PDT

I love the Ezio trilogy, but as many people know, the release of the Ezio collection wasn't astounding (considering the games were already made many years back). One thing it touted was including all the DLC, but you can't get 100% on ACII without playing the other games—I'll explain why. Using the Ubisoft Club system, you need 9000 xp to unlock the "master assassin badge", which in turn unlocks the master assassin pack. Problem is, one of three templar lairs is in this otherwise inaccessible pack, and throughout the whole Ezio collection, only 6000 xp is available. I actually have to play a whole new ac game, maybe more than one, after the WHOLE Ezio trilogy, and THEN come back to ACII to get my 100%. Ubisoft strikes again goddammit. That all being said, ACII was a great experience, so credit for that.

    My Assassins's Creed idea

    Posted: 31 Mar 2020 01:29 AM PDT

Name: Assassin's Creed: Homeland (I can't think anything better)

Who is Your Favorite Post-Ezio Protagonist?

    Posted: 30 Mar 2020 03:40 PM PDT

So a lot of people's favorite protagonist (including mine) is Ezio, but it's more interesting to see what people's opinions are after him, so choose your favorite! I don't know if Reddit will allow me enough poll options to fit every single new protagonist, so I'm going to try to include the ones people tend to talk about the most, either positively or negatively.

My personal pick is Connor. Always thought he was done a disservice with a rushed AC3 and no sequel. Feel free to explain your choice in the comments!

    Ubisoft’s problem: Lack of foresight

    Posted: 30 Mar 2020 11:42 PM PDT

I just came to realize that a lot of the issues with the Assassins Creed franchise came from Ubisoft simply just doing things without having had planned ahead for them. Then also adding some lore issues by not double checking by cross-examining it with their previous work. Your thoughts on this? Any examples you can think of that you'd like to share?

[AC2 Spoiler] Am I dumb for not solving the glyph puzzles by myself?

    Posted: 30 Mar 2020 11:33 PM PDT

I have been replaying Assassin's Creed II recently and think the glyph rifts are interesting puzzles that I have fun solving. While I still find enjoyment in them, I find myself getting frustrated when reaching glyphs that involved geometric Fibonacci series and Caesar Ciphers, not being able to solve it for a long while. While I am familiar with those topics and understood that those were the mechanics of the puzzles, I still struggled in solving it and ended up looking up the solutions in fear I was not understanding something correctly.

Were these glyphs very difficult for others too? Should I feel bad for not solving them by myself?

Who designed the AC logo ?

    Posted: 30 Mar 2020 03:41 PM PDT

Hey everyone, this is my first post on the sub although i've been a fan since AC 2, and i had a question about the series famous logo.

As you probably all know now, it was revealed in Origins (incredible game btw) that the logo was actually an eagle's skull seen from below.

My question is : was it always meant to represent this ? If so they chose the perfect moment to reveal this.

Also does anyone know who designed the logo and if he ever talked about how he came to think of it ?

RANK the Major Entries in the Series.

    Posted: 30 Mar 2020 08:21 AM PDT

So I know there have been plenty of "Rank the Series" and plenty of "What is your favorite game?" polls but I wanted to combine the two for some real data-driven results. Click the link below to fill out the survey:

    https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ZBQHNSN

You can drag and drop the titles in your order with #1 having the most weight. You can click "N/A" if you haven't played that title, though I would ask you to refrain from participating if you haven't played at least half of them (6).

THE DRAG AND DROP FEATURE IS A LITTLE FINICKY. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR ORDER IS CORRECT BEFORE SUBMITTING.

There is also a dropdown feature you can use to select a ranking.

    You can only vote once.

I'll update with some results in a few hours, though the results should also display after you submit your answer.

    UPDATE

So apparently I need to pay $32 to see all of the results, but they do show the first 40. I would have searched for another site if I had known that.

    The first 40 show:

    Average rating:

    1)   8.79 - AC2

    2)   8.43 - AC4: Black Flag

    3)   7.89 - Brotherhood

    4)   7.63 - Origins

    5)   6.34 - Odyssey

    6)   5.68 - Revelations

    7)   5.58 - Unity

    8)   4.91 - AC1

    9)   4.79 - AC3

    10) 4.54 - Syndicate

    11) 3.97 - Rogue

Nobody ranked AC2, AC4, Brotherhood, or Origins as their least favorite. Nobody ranked Syndicate or Rogue as their most favorite.

More people listed Syndicate and AC1 as their least favorite (7) than Rogue (3), but Rogue still ended up with the lowest score due to more frequent middling rankings.

Everybody had played AC4. Rogue was the game that the fewest people played with 9/40 answering N/A. AC1, Syndicate, and Odyssey each had 5 N/A's and Unity had 4. The rest were either 2 or 1.

Odyssey is certainly the most divisive game. 32.5% (13 votes) rank it in the top 3, but 27.5% (11 votes) rank it in the bottom 3, with another 17.5% (7 votes) ranking it 8 out of 11.

I hope everyone found this interesting! Sorry I couldn't get the full results.

Does anyone want a sequel for any of the characters after Ezio?

    Posted: 30 Mar 2020 12:56 PM PDT

I know the studio said after the Ezio trilogy they would stop with character sequels. But some of the games left me wanting more for the characters. I wanted to see more of Connor, the Frye Twins, and Bayek. I understand Ubi has given some info for them as far as the extra files and things you find in game, but i still wish they did a couple sequels just to show us the how the characters changed after everything.

    Why should i play Unity?

    Posted: 30 Mar 2020 11:57 AM PDT

Im really interested in the game, but i don't know if the current state of the game is good.

Looking at some pictures, it seems that Paris and the time period were done with a beautiful execution.

    What's with Blackbeard's name in AC4?

    Posted: 31 Mar 2020 01:58 AM PDT

Wikipedia says that his name is Edward Teach, alternatively Edward Thatch. He's called Thatch in the game, but I fail to see how this alternate spelling could have come about or how "Teach" could be pronounced "Thatch."

    Anybody know the answer?

Previous Assassin’s Creed Fan Getting Back Into It

    Posted: 30 Mar 2020 06:03 AM PDT

    Hey everyone,

Basically, I had started playing Assassin's Creed when I was about 10 in 2010 with Assassin's Creed II being my first game and I fell in love with all of it, the gameplay and the story. Brotherhood and Revelations were the same deal, humongous fan. Then when III came out, I became really disinterested with it, mainly because I couldn't get invested in Connor and his story and barely finished the game just for the sake of completing the modern day storyline which I ended up not remembering. Now, years later, my younger brothers kept up with all of them, stopping at Syndicate, and I have decided to get back into the games. The only problem is, I came across Origins and after trying it out, I fell in love with it and I do not want to go back to play the older games at all. Is there any way I could recap the story of everything in the storyline up until Origins so that I could understand what's happening with the modern day story?

Are most people who play assassin's creed female?

    Posted: 30 Mar 2020 09:37 AM PDT

I read this online somewhere and I was wondering if it was true. As a girl myself, I'm particularly interested. Ladies, where you at?

What do you think about a game set in Ancient Mesopotamia?

    Posted: 30 Mar 2020 11:11 AM PDT

Origins and Odyssey were great, and I've always liked the idea of an AC game set during the life of Sargon of Akkad or Hammurabi. The player could go cities like Babylon and Nineveh, and the setting would be beautiful. Of course, I'm not sure exactly how this would tie into the main storyline, but the time period and region is just so fascinating and not covered nearly enough in popular media.

Weapons should be scaled the to you no matter what region of the map you're in

    Posted: 30 Mar 2020 04:12 PM PDT

I'm so sick a being in a region that's slightly lower level, killing a guy, getting a legendary, and then finding out that it's like four levels under me and worse than the shield that I have on at that moment
