The true enemy in Odyssey: Wild Boars

    Posted: 18 Jan 2020 02:07 PM PST

Nothing scares me in this game. Except for wild boars. I see 2 mercs, I'm like "yeah, let's do this MF!" I see a lone wild boar, and I bend the knee.

Race in syndicate is dumb bullshit

    Posted: 18 Jan 2020 09:20 PM PST

The one who starts first always wins and is at great advantage, you just never can catch up no matter what. It's fucking stupid and ubisoft should never add race in their AC, vehicle control sucks. I'd rather play mario kart.

    That's all.

Edit : Just got the trophy, but still dumb dumb.

    Just finished AC4 (no spoilers)

    Posted: 18 Jan 2020 07:09 PM PST

What a beautifully done story, sets up for AC3's story.

I love the pacing of the game, yes it's not as "assassiny" but it was fun nevertheless. I took a whole persona for Kenway of "I don't give a shit" then changed 3/4 :)

Onwards to Rogue my fellow assassins!

    Just played Origins after Odyssey

    Posted: 18 Jan 2020 03:16 PM PST

I just played the first 3 hours of AC Origins after finishing AC Odyssey and I must say I think Origins combat system is overall more difficult to learn than Odysseys. Also I can already feel now that the story has way more potential than the family drama story from odyssey an is overall well written. But in my point of view Odyssey has a bit more variety in the openworld with different islands and volcanos than origins. There's a lot of sand but actually the scenery and setting is more interesting for me. Of course that's just my opinion but I think many others out there have the same.

The problem of the boats system in my opinion and my hopes if Ragnarok has a similar system.

    Posted: 18 Jan 2020 09:17 PM PST

So I'm already not the biggest fan of naval combat, I loved Black Flags and Rogue's but AC Odyssey had me torn. I wanted to share my thoughts and ask what you all think on the matter (Just like I did with the Layla thing), however this post has to do with boats and crew.

On the one hand I loved that I could gather (more like hoard if I'm being honest) a large group of lieutenants and combo up to 4 to make my ship have different styles. Slap a bunch of people with +health and armor and laugh as I ignore the enemies damage and go full speed into the side of them. Or maybe I wan't to up my arrow damage, I can. That's great.

On the other hand you might as well turn lieutenants into attachments as they only ever become meaningful if you're A) boarding B)use the ability that calls a lieutenant C)On your boat which is getting stats from them like how you get stats from armor. Those are fine, but when I have all these characters ON MY BOAT and am constantly fighting along side them, or romanced them at one point, or whatever you'd expect more out of it then a highly aggressive hood ornament.

For example Odessa, descendant of Odysseus, a really cool character, but if you get her on your crew you now can't interact with her aside from assigning her to be a lieutenant.

I would've loved to get to know some of the mercenaries I took on board.

Deimos, Nikolaos, etc, all become pretty uninteresting in my opinion and that is a shame.

If we get a viking assassin's creed game with boats and crew, I would hope we have time to interact with our crew, maybe only a small group randomly at say a central location (like a longhouse that functions as your hub while not on your boat). Considering Vikings are much less sailing crew much more sea based raiding party, you should have more people at once (potentially even being able to fully customize each member of your raiding party that will sail with you on your longboat) and as such relationships should be able to take place. If you are dead set on making an RPG VIKING ASSASSIN'S CREED game then make it have ROLE PLAYING elements. Maybe crew members can gain levels if you complete a task for them, and it would improve your standing with them who knows. Just saying I hope they aren't just wasted space.

The other problem I find myself facing is that you have pretty boring upgrades and customization.

Mainly because I just have to spend huge resources on 'stats' for parts of my ship and then shape it more with how I deck out my lieutenants, and that is alright enough, but wouldn't it be so much cooler if they found a way to work out a stat tree kinda like the ability points system? Like how I could get a % of warrior damage rather than spending the point on abilities, or % assassin damage, or % hunter damage, or healing, etc. They could make it so each part of the ship has different upgrades. Some could overlap like ship health, crew capacity etc, but some things could be specific to parts of the ship, like the front of the ship having more % ramming damage, or take less damage from the front. The sails could have % speed increase so you can sail a bit faster. The oars/rowers could gain stamina and base rowing speed, and the sides of the ship could get bonus armor which could be displayed by literal shields lining the sides of the ship.

Again this is just my opinion on ships in odyssey and what I hope might change in ragnarok and I wanted to share and hear peoples thoughts on the matter.

Should I play AC3 Remastered or the Original?

    Posted: 18 Jan 2020 08:45 PM PST

Title basically. I already own the original AC3 for some reason, but I'm buying Odyssey Gold during the steam sale, and will get remastered. Is there any reason I should play the original over the remastered?

I don't use all of my ability slots, is that weird? - AC Odyssey

    Posted: 18 Jan 2020 07:32 PM PST

I see people say that they run out of slots but I only use 6 melee slots and 2 are only filled because I need to have venomous attacks and flaming attacks lvl 1 so I can get poison and fire mastery (I use legendary weapons with auto poison/fire). I use rush assassin, ring of chaos, hero strike, and second wind. I feel that's all I really need. I barely use my bow so I just put devastating shot for the hell of it. I put everything else into passives and mastery levels.

I usually try to sneak until shit hits the fan and then I just fight everyone at once. That's basically my playstyle. Does anyone have some recommendations of other abilities for this kind of play style?

Applying fire to a legendary poison weapon - AC Odyssey

    Posted: 18 Jan 2020 06:40 PM PST

If I have a legendary weapon that automatically has poison and I add fire with an ability does it do anything or is it one or the other?

I understand Altair was the first, but AC2 is more popular (as far as I can tell) and, IMO, better

Depth of the forge cultist camp - AC Odyssey (SPOILER)

    Posted: 18 Jan 2020 06:22 PM PST

I know a quest brings you to this place. My question is: will clearing the cultists out before the quest ruin anything? I ask because I know clearing a certain place on Salami makes the Blind King quest bug out if you clear it before the quest. Thanks.

How to unlock Altaïr’s outfit in Assassin’s Creed Unity now?

    Posted: 18 Jan 2020 09:59 AM PST

With the companion app gone (and initiates too I think?), I'm trying to unlock his outfit but every guide I find has a different answer as to how it's unlocked.

Some say that you can't without the companion, some say you have to play the previous AC games, and some say that you have to get Helix Artifacts, but many of those I can't get without the companion. So how do I go about unlocking it?

AC odyssey Fate of atlantis chapter 1 [Spoilers]

    Posted: 18 Jan 2020 05:03 PM PST

So you get to choose who to bring back to life if you kill Leonidas. I'm boring so of course I killed the other guy instead but what happens if you do bring these people back to life?

Odyssey. How do I actually know when I finished the game?

    Posted: 18 Jan 2020 01:10 PM PST

With other games you just know when you beat it. Big fight, roll the credits, etc etc. With this game, I'm just not sure. I have no more quests available in Greece or Elyisium and all cultists have been killed. So I'm just running around looking for things to do. Feels kinda empty. I just thought there would be some kind of actual ending to the game. Am I missing something??

Aqueducts secret location in AC Brotherhood?

    Posted: 18 Jan 2020 04:18 PM PST

So I unlocked the Aqueducts secret location in Brotherhood via the ubisoft club, and while it says it's available after sequence 8, I have completed sequence 8 and yet it's still not showing up on the map? Where is it?

You get to take one item from one game and transfer it to another. Which item do you choose?

    Posted: 18 Jan 2020 06:11 AM PST

I'd pick the Jackdaw for Odyssey. Because some convoys are really powerful at nightmare mode.

Texture draw distance and rendering in AC unity.

    Posted: 18 Jan 2020 03:52 PM PST

Just bought AC unity on sale and i have maxed out every setting and while the game looks gorgeous when you're close to rendered objects, yet, if you go up on a rooftop for example, you can clearly see that alot of textures are not rendered at all and look really blurry and it breaks the immersion a bit. Just wondered if that's just the game or my pc maybe there's something i'm missing? Is there some fix to this? Thanks.

What little things do you think they should add in Assassin's Creed?

    Posted: 18 Jan 2020 02:13 PM PST

Some random things would be like be able to scream or have a louder whistle. Another would be more hand-hand-combat. Like u should be able to kick or uppercut, and ik u can sparta kick but that's different. Also yk when you're at like a fort or something in assassin's Creed Odyssey, and on the edge and people are looking out, u should be able to sparta kick then off. Also if u could do a quick assassination, and pick them up without the waiting. Thoughts??
