Just recently got AC: Origins. Why doesn’t Bayek react at all to anything Isu related?

    Posted: 25 Nov 2019 01:34 PM PST

I know that Bayek believes in the Ancient Egyptian gods and the Duat and the concept of ka, but whenever he ventures upon a First Civilization temple hidden within an ancient tomb or crypt, he never acknowledges the odd glows or the architecture being distinctly sleek in comparison to Old Kingdom architectures. Nor does he say so much as a word when he teleports out of a temple when an exit is shown.

Is there an in universe explanation for why Bayek doesn't seem to be bothered by stuff that clearly does not belong in his era? If not, what would your guess be?

General opinion on the oversized weapons in AC Odyssey and Origins?

    Posted: 25 Nov 2019 09:40 AM PST

I personally have a strong dislike for how the weapons change in size when sheathed or unsheathed.

Returning to The Ezio Collection as someone who gave up with the series after AC3

    Posted: 25 Nov 2019 11:39 PM PST

Yesterday I picked up The Ezio Collection for PS4. I played AC on PC a year or two after it came out, followed by AC2, Brotherhood, Revelations, and then AC3 on PS3. And that's when I lost interest and I haven't played anything since, so I'm very behind.

What struck me coming back to AC2 after all these years is exactly how much I had missed the game. I love the story, the quirks with freerunning and the like, I even love the slightly stupid graphics that the Collection has.

Then I think about AC3 and how it was the opposite for me. I didn't like the changes in gameplay (mostly, bring able to climb terrain was awesome), or story, or anything else really. My PS3 died while I was towards the end of the story, I think, and to this day I haven't been able to bring myself to finish it.

The feeling of 'I don't want to replay this game in order to finish it' is the major reason why I'm so far out of touch with the games. Secondarily I started to feel that Ubisoft was just pumping out a new game a year with minimal innovation just to make money, which is a business model I'm personally not a fan of. I figured if the way the franchise was heading was making me feel that way, I didn't want to continue playing.

So I ask those of you who have continued, is it as dire as I thought? Is it worth catching up? Or is The Ezio Collection the peak?

How did you get into AC?

    Posted: 25 Nov 2019 12:02 PM PST

I'm curious how other fans were first exposed to the series. For example, this was my experience:

I was first introduced to the series through the mobile game, of all things. I actually really liked playing Identity and wanted more. Later, I asked for a PS4 for Christmas and received Syndicate with it. It took very little time for me to fall in love with it. The stealth was engaging, the combat was fluid, the characters were genuinely interesting, and I loved how it took history and modified it into an enjoyable game. Looking back on it now, I realize that I jumped from polar opposites in my time playing. I went from a mobile game, to Syndicate, to Black Flag, to Origins, and to AC II. In terms of settings, story, gameplay, and overall feel, each of these were entirely different. Yet, I still loved them.

What's the name of the romance/love theme song? (AC Odyssey)

    Posted: 25 Nov 2019 08:47 PM PST

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ppaU_f5X4s8&t=16337s

At 4:09:10 , and it plays again at 4:31:14

It plays during a lot of the romance scenes. The lute in this is god damn beautiful, but it's not on the official album, and I can't find a name for the track alone.

    Assassins creed on PC

    Posted: 25 Nov 2019 02:39 PM PST

So I recently purchased origins, odyssey and syndicate. All of their DLC came with it so naturally I got AC 3 and I tried it because I've been binging black flag as of late. Syndicate and odyssey and origins run like a dream. But AC3 and it's stupid remaster run like me after thanksgiving dinner meaning slower than hell or not at all. What gives?

Who's life was more tragic, Altair or Ezio?

    Posted: 25 Nov 2019 03:10 PM PST

Which one of the two OG and strongest Assassin had more tragic story?

Altair- He was betrayed and used by the very faith and order he grew up in. But he used that to turn himself around. Although he cherished a good life with Maria and his kids, Him at 63 was really tragic. Lost his wife, youngest son, Best friend, and was exiled by the jealous beta version of him and the clan he gave everything for.

From the novel, apparently his son and his family left him because he suffered from depression after he fled. But he was able to put himself back up and came back to get back his throne. Then finally got well deserved peace at his final years, and became such a big symbol than people came to visit him all around the world.

Ezio- Dude saw his dad and his brothers get hung when he was a teen. But he was able to get his well deserved revenge. I think that gave him enough closure to get over the deaths of his family. Then he essentially led a life of assassin and crushing puss like the fratstar he is. He roamed around the world being a master assassin, but I think that's the life he wanted anyways. Then he finally met Sofia at 51 and lived a good life in his later years. Although his lifespan was really short compare to Altair.

I think Altair definitely had the more tragic life. Ezio's biggest tragedy was when he was just 17 years old, but from his lifestyle he lived the life he wanted and got over their deaths pretty soon. Altair had to be the perfect example of a leader, had to build the creed but still betrayed by the people he worked for. It may seem we never get to see the good life of Altair, but his tragic side is too hurtful.

Favourite weapons and shields in AC: Origins?

    Posted: 25 Nov 2019 03:01 PM PST

My primary weapons have been the Golden Wolf legendary sword, and the Smoke and Mirrors legendary bow. Looking at mixing up my secondary weapons though and was wondering what everyone else enjoyed playing? As for my shield, the Ziedrich..but for those who have gotten this shield..it doesn't really fit aesthetically lol (imo anyway).

AC Odyssey - Am I missing something?

    Posted: 25 Nov 2019 07:35 PM PST

If this has already been discussed (I'm sure it has) then please send me some links.

I just started odyssey after playing origins. Origins was an awesome AC game, it reminded me a lot of the Ezio games. I'm only part of the way through Odyssey now so no spoilers please, but will I ever join the Assassins? Where are they and the Templars? Is Sparta Templar?

The gameplay is great but the story seems so pointless and unmotivated. I sort of like Alexio except that he's an idiotic brute. Why do they provide dialog choices when they all wind up with him acting like a child.

    Combat on AC Odyssey

    Posted: 25 Nov 2019 04:14 PM PST

So from the first game assassins were supposed to live in the shadows, using their agility to their advantage and fighting gracefully. Of course there were some tests of strength and they were more than durable if discovered while hiding by their moves were always graceful and clever. Now on AC Odyssey..... It seems Kassandra has lost that grace, only fighting with brute strength and some weird looking dodges, I think this is because of the absence of The Hidden Blade, because honestly instead of using Leonidas' spear as a Hidden Blade she uses it as a knife or a short sword. What do you think?

Is the game fun without guided mode?

    Posted: 25 Nov 2019 05:30 PM PST

I've been playing with guided mode a lot and used the exploration mode only once, for me it was a pain in the ass. Should I switch to guided mode?

Wasn't subject 16 supposed to be mysterious?

    Posted: 25 Nov 2019 03:57 AM PST

So i just started playing AC revelations and the very first moments you meet subject 16 in the animus island but why desmond was so casual and chilling about meeting him? Haven't desmond had loads of questions for him? I know it is small thing but i couldn't help but wonder. Also please no spoiler for further events as i am still playing for the first time and interested in the story. Thanks in advance.

I haven't been able to play Assassins Creed from Unity onwards, lorewise what's the Endgame?

    Posted: 25 Nov 2019 02:05 AM PST

My laptop is an i5 8gb but has no graphics card except the Intel. So yeah, anything from unity onwards is moving as if it was a turtle and lagging like no tomorrow. I catch snippets of the new games on YouTube when I get WiFi but haven't read the comics

I'm sad they never brought back Desmond (though a friend who read a comic said he apparently had a son) and we have a new protagonist called Layla Hassan but that's about it.

From the little I've got, is it still about Assassins versus Templars (Not much for the new combat system or getting rid of the hidden Blade though I understand it's years in the past before they were created) or has the whole thing changed and there's a new endgame?

Will Ubisoft remaster Assassins' Creed two?

    Posted: 25 Nov 2019 10:57 AM PST

I was just wondering if they would every remaster the amazing AC2 it's impressive storyline and the beyond fantastic story of Ezio needs to be remade with an improvement of graphics and other glitches. Especially with the new Assassin's creed fanbase from Origins and Odyssey they simply must experience a proper Assassin's creed game with the real deal. Just wondering.
