I don’t care about a realistic AC game. I just want another grounded one.

    Posted: 16 Nov 2019 09:28 PM PST

People seem to throw the term realism all the time that it's lost it's meaning. People then take it to mean that the fan base wants a literal realistic ac game, which gets shut down by indicating that Ac was never realistic as it featured ancient aliens/civilizations, magic objects etc. That's why I am making the distinction saying the games should return to being more grounded.

The newer games, especially odyssey feels detached from feeling like a grounded game. With all the powers and mythical creatures it makes the isu stuff not feel as other worldly/advanced as it should since there's already crazy beasts running around.

The past games did a great job of having a emphasis on a grounded historical setting where the isu sci fi elements were carefully woven in. Games where you play as someone that felt like they truly belonged in that time period, and not as a superhero demi-god.

Even though you were able to climb everything and take down dozens of enemies with ease, it all felt based in reality. The newer games, put a lot of emphasis on mythology rather than history. And I think they should go back to focusing on the historical aspects and leave the mythical stuff for animus glitches or dlc.

Ubi should introduce the ultimate leader of the Templars

    Posted: 16 Nov 2019 06:57 AM PST

Think about this, it's been more than a decade and we still don't know who leads the Templars like we do assassin wise. We know who led Abstergo, Alan rikkin, but not the ultimate leader, so misterious not even most Templars know who he is.

We know who led the Templars in the past but not in the present day.

Maybe set him up as a new villain for the modern day.

I Just Finished Watching The Robin Hood (2018) Movie And I’ve Got To Say, That Movie Really Made Me Long For A Robin Hood Themed Assassins Creed Game.

    Posted: 16 Nov 2019 10:44 AM PST

And I know that there's a high possibility that Robin Hood wasn't real so the game wouldn't be historically accurate, but Cerberus and Medusa weren't real and Ubisoft made it work, yeah they were in was dark yellow piss level quality but still it sorta worked. Besides we know that the Assassins were formed at the time so who knows, maybe some of them were sent to England.

Playing Origins for the first time, 30 hrs in. And I just need to get this off my chest.

    Posted: 16 Nov 2019 12:03 PM PST

Overall I am enjoying the game. Despite my disappointment in the lack of social stealth and better parkour mechanics I am sill having fun. Mainly cause I love the Egypt setting. Just wandering about in the desert and mountains on my camel is satisfying for me.

With that being said I really need to vent on a few things that have made me just quit my seasons of playing a few times.

Firstly Ubisoft needs to stop throwing shit at the player to keep them engaged. The same problem we present in farcry 5 and it's annoying the hell out of me in origins. I just want to watch the sunset and the sand blowing off the dunes on my camel not constantly get into combat by a group of mounted enemies that just spawn in my way.

Secondly the mirages. They were great the first few times but soon after it's became tiresome when the camera would take control and force its perspective on the mirage. I like to make videos just wondering about the desert and stuff and every fucking time the camera zooms in on mirage after mirage. Sometimes I don't even see what's happening, there's all of a sudden this random lady singing or saying something that won't shut the fuck up and just let me be.

A game like RDR2's where rockstar understands that players should be left the fuck alone and make them stumble upon things rather than throwing shit their way. They emphasize that sense of peace of just existing and wandering the world. Same goes for games like fallout or Skyrim.

I don't understand why Ubisoft feels the need to force the player into these situations. I am not gonna fall asleep if I am not engaged with an enemy for a few minutes, just leave me the fuck alone.

Anyway, I am having fun so far and am pretty engaged in Bayeks revenge quest. Can't wait to see how it all ends.

I’m scared of the new combat in the recent games.

    Posted: 16 Nov 2019 11:14 AM PST

I've always loved the style of the combat in the AC games. I've been playing AC Unity and Syndicate lately, so I looked into getting the newest ones. I looked at the video review by IGN for AC Odyssey, and noticed the new fighting style. I then went back and looked at the video review for Origins. Same style. I'm not a fan of RPG games but I know everyone loved the new games + the new combat style. I want to get the new games, but I'm scared the combat will ruin it for me. Can anyone confirm how the combat is?

In Syndicate, are things like Fight Club or Hijacking needed for 100%? Or is it just for the rewards and raising the associate levels?

    Posted: 16 Nov 2019 09:45 AM PST

I probably wouldn't do fight clubs after raising the associate level to max
