AC4: Black Flag Stealth Described Posted: 03 Jun 2021 06:40 PM PDT I love AC4 black flag so I got together with a few people who also love black flag and we wrote this up. I apologize in advance if I am wrong about anything written here, if you do see an error or an oversight please let me know, with that being said here is a small description of all the consumables and a few other things in AC4 Throwing money There's a great reason why throwing money is a smart idea. For starters, guards will turn to watch the commotion, buying several seconds to make an escape or simply go about your business. Next, you're able to use non-player characters to get in the way of Edward's pursuers. Simply toss the coins and attackers will stumble over the cash-starved masses. Throwing knives Throwing knives insta-kills any enemy in the game, you can pick them up off of the dead body of someone that you kill with them(note the knife is a physical object that will need to be picked up, not looted). They are good for picking off stray guards who temporarily have their backs turned to you.killing an enemy with throwing knives causes you to be instantly detected by other nearby enemies that could detect you if they were to turn around, Smoke Bombs Smoke bombs are very useful in Black Flag. For one, you can use them to end combat encounters very quickly. The Unity smoke+gun trick does not work in this game. They stun any guard that walks into them and whilst it makes a bit of noise, all guards affected by it are rendered useless for a few seconds. if you're standing on a beam type object they can be thrown directly under your feet from any height, and that they also affect enemies that are behind a wall, provided they are within the smoke bomb's radius. Sleep Darts Sleep darts put an enemy to sleep(shocking)(not clickbait). This means that they will wake up eventually. Sleeping guards can be woken up by other guards. This means that if used properly, they can manage to distract two different guards with one dart. Guards are also not put on alert should they find a sleeping guard. This makes it very useful in lots of situations. If a patrol guard sees a citizen hit with a sleep dart they will stop patrolling and stand still permanently. This is very finnicky, however. Berserk Darts Berserk Darts make an enemy kill their fellow enemies. This can pick off a lot of guards at once but the guards are also put on a state of alert. Very useful if you want a major distraction to allot you time to run around. Its playing with fire should you wish to use it for a stealth reaper. They bunch up a lot of enemies in a compact area meaning that a berserk dart + a smoke bomb would lead to a massive stabbing session. civilians can be berserked and will only attack guards . Rope Darts https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAwdqHMGamU&t=68s Gun It can be used to kill people from range but its also very loud. A good use of the pistols is free-aiming them from bushes, as this does not pull you from the cover of bushes like it does in the newer games while aiming and firing the bow Cover It covers you from enemies. Cover assassinations have their own animation, whistling + cover is a very powerful combo(as the game tells you) High profile Makes more noise than low profile, lets you sprint and gives you unique assassination animations. Assassinations make noise in this mode. Whilst in a stalking zone, holding high profile will temporarily make you visible, very useful for SSI lures Low profile This makes you move slower, but makes you quiet, assassinations make a very small amount of noise. In the Kenway saga you can still chain assassinations together really fast and turn a different direction mid-animation, but they still make a tiny bit of noise. so don't sit around and wait for them to see you Whistling Calls over all enemies in a radius, in the switch version of the game that comes bundled with AC rogue, there's a little indication as to how far the whistle is going. Ubisoft should make a phone game for Orlog Posted: 03 Jun 2021 09:53 PM PDT I really wish Ubisoft would make a phone version of Orlog on iOS and Android. It would be so much fun to be able to play online with other players with a leader board for bragging rights. They could really explore deeper with Orlog if they made a game solely for it. What do you think? [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Jun 2021 01:53 PM PDT So a friend of mine who works at University College London has organised a seminar and public Q&A with Maxime Durand, who was the lead historian of the Assassin's Creed games and he is now the World Design director at Ubisoft. The talk is free. It is the last one of an afternoon of talks on other topics related to heritage and archaeology. Maxime's talk is at 16:30 (UK time) on Tuesday 8th and the whole thing lasts from 15:00 to 17:00. You can register for free here: https://ucl.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_WU8e-dLtTNihFTLBMPObWQ If you have any questions I can ask my buddy and report back. [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Jun 2021 01:55 PM PDT In Odyssey, the Aegean sea was oppresively huge, and a large amount of time was spent sailing from A to B, occasionally fighting arbitrarily placed enemy ships that found their way in front of you. It was a bit too much, especially since the crew sang the same song the whole time (at least in my experience. If there were more songs to sing I never found out how to get them) In contrast, in Valhalla I hardly find myself sailing at all because the river system is just too boring and shallow, especially with auto-sail. There's no waves or stormy waters that throw your ship about, and crew tales and songs are interrupted every 5 seconds because you sailed within 500 yards of a collectible, mission, or enemy. If the next AC game also includes sailing, I really hope they find a way to split the difference between the two. Black flag also had a huge sailing map, but there were things like whale hunting and treasure wrecks to explore out in the middle of the ocean, which aren't there to any meaningful extent in Odyssey or Valhalla. Anyway that's my small rant over. Those of you that like the concept of sailing in future AC games like I do, what are your thoughts? [link] [comments]

Posted: 03 Jun 2021 09:42 PM PDT Tldr: do weapon perks apply to normal atracks when equipped in the offhand or is it mainhand only? Hi guys, as above im wonder if certain weapon perks work character wide when its in the off hand or does it need to be in the offhand only? For example for the varins axe: speed increases per hit (up to 10) does it need to be equipped in your mainhand or is it character wide? Same as the dmg buff for the housecarls axe. Would it apply even in the offhand for light and heavy attacks? Second example: if i have a hammer in my off hand will i still get a lot of knock-downs? Tldr: do weapon perks apply to normal atracks when equipped in the offhand or is it mainhand only? [link] [comments]
Valhalla optional arcs in game(spoilers) Posted: 04 Jun 2021 01:07 AM PDT Are Lunden, Jorvik and Winchester necessary to complete for main story i.e. stuff with Sigurd and Basim? I know you can't have them without building Hidden Ones HQ first. So what happens after you complete every other avaible arc in game? Can you return to Norway or you must complete Hidden Ones arcs? What would Bayek think of what Shay did? Posted: 03 Jun 2021 07:43 AM PDT I was thinking about this because Shay just wanted to protect innocent people same as Bayek but Shay had to turn on the brotherhood to do so while Bayek created the assassins to protect the innocent so what do you think Bayek would make of Shay's actions? Is a sequel entirely realistic? Posted: 03 Jun 2021 07:56 AM PDT Bayek, Edward or Connor seem like the most likely candidates for a sequel, in that order (most to least). Do you think ubisoft would invest money in making a sequel for these characters? It could be profitable, because you would make old fans happy, so they would buy them out of nostalgia, and make new fans who would go back and buy the old games for the origin of the characters (Origins, Black Flag, 3). So do you think it would be realistic for assassin's creed to try to make sequels, because the way I see it, it would get both new fans and old fans to give them money. [link] [comments]
[SPOILERS] [Odyssey] Is there any difference if you do the 'Finding Mother' quests in reverse order? Posted: 03 Jun 2021 07:23 PM PDT Chronologically your mother goes from Argos to Korinth to the pirates. But of you just skip straight to Xenia, is there any change in the game? Wouldn't you be able to just go to where your mother is based off xenia's info? [link] [comments]

Posted: 03 Jun 2021 04:51 PM PDT I'm trying to platinum ac 1, I've killed all 60 templars and colected all flags in masyaf, damascus, acre and kingdom, I'm at 99 in Jerusalem, I really don't want to rewatch the half an hour guide i'm using, is there a way I can find that one flag missing on my own? Having trouble finding a specific video/transcription of an early-game Valhalla quote Posted: 03 Jun 2021 08:54 AM PDT When you're sailing into England for the first time, you pass a monastery on your right and someone, Dag I believe, remarks that it's odd that Christians make an idol out of the cross that "killed their god." None of my friends who've played this game remember that conversation happening and I can't find a video of it. Any help, even just a transcription, would be greatly appreciated! I'm writing an article on depictions in the media of Christianity interacting with polytheistic religions and I definitely think this is a good tongue-in-cheek inclusion. [link] [comments]
I think Ubisoft could make a cool mission put of this Posted: 03 Jun 2021 07:35 PM PDT Would be honestly hella cool if we could get the broken spear of Leonidas from Odyssey in Valhalla. It could be obtained by completing a mission or the same way we can get Ragnars dagger. I just think having that spear in Valhalla would be really cool. Id tag some Ubi members on this post but I only know the R6 Ubi members lol, hopefully Ubi see's this and could add it in during Siege of Paris. Also having it so we obtain it as the lowest upgrade and then we can upgrade it/change appearance with tungsten and nickel ingots ofcourse. Last upgrade/appearance should definitely be the same last upgrade as in Odyssey, gives you the cool full metal spear with the eagle head at the end of the handle [link] [comments]

[SPOILERS] Jotunheim in AC Valhalla - What is this weird figure in the sky? Posted: 02 Jun 2021 04:19 PM PDT Spotted this creepy figure floating up in the sky in Jotunheim (near the place where The Puppeteer mystery takes place). Anybody know what this is? Some Norse mythological creature? [link] [comments]
Connection between Odin Sight (Valhalla) and Eagle Pulse (Unity)? [Spoiler] Posted: 02 Jun 2021 03:41 PM PDT I've been playing through Unity, currently on the mission to find Mirabeau's killer (I know who it is. I've played Unity several times since it came out.) and I just came to a realization about Eagle Pulse and why it's so different. To recap, Eagle Pulse is AC Unity's form of Eagle Vision. Instead of the standard Eagle Vision in which you go into a detective vision like mode and can highlight enemies or locate objectives for as long as you want, Eagle Pulse acts like a sonar that lasts for a few seconds before the highlighted objects fade. This then requires another pulse. It's such a strange departure, given that Syndicate, the following game, brings Eagle Vision back. But we know that this isn't the only Eagle Vision derivative we've seen. Except, there is Odin Sight in Valhalla. And it works the exact same way. Sonar pulse that leads to highlighting. We've seen three different types of "Eagle Vision": the standard one, pulse, and the Eagle Vision from the last three games in which your Eagle works like a drone. While I don't think this was planned from the start, I have a theory as to why we have these three distinct versions, and it all comes back to this connection between Pulse and Odin Sight. HEAVY SPOILERS FOR VALHALLA AHEAD!!!!!! So we know now that there were at least two different groups of Isu, the Nordic ones and the Greco/Roman ones. Eivor is the reincarnation of Odin and uses Odin Sight, while also having access to a form of Eagle Vision where their Raven works the same as Ikaros or Senu. Bayek and Kassandra have this form of Eagle Vision as well yet don't have another form of that sight. By the Crusades we know that Altair has the Eagle Vision that has been around the longest in the series. What I propose is that different Isu groups had different forms of this sight. The Aesir had pulse and the Roman Isu had the standard form. Both had access to the bird sight, however after the cataclysm only the bird sight could be used by the hybrids. As time went by, those descended of the Roman Isu lost the bird sight but gained Eagle Vision. Eivor, being the reincarnation of Odin, had pulse and bird sight. We know that she/he goes to France in the DLC. It could very well be possible that she has children there, thus creating a group of descendants who have pulse/Odin Sight but lack bird sight due to genetics. This could mean that Arno is a descendant of Eivor and why his Eagle Vision is so different from the other protagonists. Of course this can all be trumped if a new game comes out with the bird mechanic, if there aren't romance opinions in the DLC, and because this is so far out there of an idea. But hey, it's my head canon until a game proves otherwise. [link] [comments] |
