Although it is smaller and the melee combat much less complex than the recent ones its just so much more well satisfying. I actually like and care about the characters and theres a clear and satisfying sense of plot direction thats complex and makes sense, everything links together well and the voice actors are really good compared to some of the recent ones. Although the melee combats a lot simpler than recent ones it is somewhat satisfying to just slaughter everyone like a god and focuses you more on the plot and the ship fighting can be hard and complex which makes up for it.

Can we we do more ac games based of really good story, plot, characters instead of the melee combat centred ones we get that put way too much focus on quantity rather than quality. 1/3 of the size and length would be a good trade of for this in my opinion.

Id also love a remastered black flag with better graphics and maybe more complex melee combat. Other than that its still golden

AC: Odyssey one of the best games?

    Posted: 25 Mar 2021 07:55 AM PDT

I have been spending the last months on an Assassin's Creed marathon. I am currently on Assassin's Creed: Odyssey. I've gotta say, i had very low hopes for the last three games but honestly i am enjoying them a lot.

I grew attached to the old way of playing Assassin's Creed and i was afraid that these games would be so radically different that i couldn't recognize them. I am so happy that i decided to give them all a try. I was especially woried about Odyssey because of what people have been telling me on Reddit and other platforms aswell. I was so wrong, this game is amazing. I'm absolutely loving it, note that i am playing without any boosters or any edition.

I never thought I out of everyone would enjoy this game. I'm not much of an RPG fan but this game just blows my mind. I honestly can't understand some of the criticism anymore. I could almost place it at the top of my list when ranking AC games. Does anybody else share this unpopular opinion with me?

The Assassin's Creed franchise peaked with Unity

    Posted: 25 Mar 2021 11:44 PM PDT

Assassins Creed Unity is by far the best Assassins Creed game, and quite possibly my favorite game of all time. There is a big whopping reason for that, which is that Unity was the absolute peak of everything Assassins Creed.

    Combat

Unity's Combat system was amazing, every attack had weight, the animations were stunning, the system was perfect, having just the right mix of challenge and style. Gone were the days where you waited for an enemy to attack, no, you had to go on the offensive for once. It was such a simple change but so revolutionary at the same time.

    Parkour

I can't say anything about Unitys parkour that hasn't been said before. It was simple to use difficult to master, and when you did, holy fuck was it glorious. The fact that there were little tricks you could learn, like side-discounting to make the camera follow you, was what really made the parkour perfect in my opinion.

    Stealth

Again, Unity revolutionized the stealth system (for AC games anyways) by giving you a dedicated crouch button. This gave the player so much more control than previous installments, as well as just making you feel like you were actually sneaking instead of slowly walking around. The assassinations were amazing and they even tied into the parkour system, where assassinations no longer killed your momentum.

    World

Revolutionary Paris was such an amazing choice for the location and time period, it makes everything make sense. Massive crowds fill the street, giving you somewhere to hide. Guns are just starting to get real popular while not being advanced enough to cause too much trouble and make melee weapons obsolete. Paris is the perfect setting for parkour as well, the buildings being perfectly spaced for hopping across rooftops, while also having an intricate sewer system.

    Story

Some people don't like the story, I don't really see why, to me the story is great, having the perfect blend of romance, mystery, action and tragedy. From the murder of De la Serre to the fight with Bellec, every story beat just hits right. The character arc for Arno is the usual "cocky guy becomes hardened assassin" that we've seen before, but the way it was handled in Unity is something else.

    Character Customization

This was honestly one of the reasons I keep coming back to Unity. There are so many options for Customization, more than even Valhalla has. You had like 5 different weapon types, 30 of each type, 6 clothing options, a good 40 of each, and everything had vastly different stats, the medieval armor making you a tank, the phantom armor making you invisible, I mean, just making different builds and testing them out was half the fun of this game. Eventually I ended up with a cheese build where I just had a fuck ton of smoke bombs and ran around assassinating everyone under the cover of smoke. It was amazing.

    Conclusion

No other Assassins Creed game has come close to perfecting the formula like Unity. Its really just been downhill since Unity, and I can only wonder at the amazing route the franchise could have taken if Ubisoft hadn't botched the launch.

While we've played as "the baddies" before, AC:Valhalla takes it to new heights

    Posted: 25 Mar 2021 10:47 AM PDT

In Black Flag we played as the pirates, and sure we attacked merchant shipping and killed many a common solider, but in theory at least we were trying to create an independent society "free" from the oppressions of the monarchies of the old world.

In Syndicate sure we were literally criminals, but our victims were other criminals and we supported the crown and down-trodden folks.

In Valhalla, we are 100% the baddies. We come to a land for the sole purpose of conquering, we attack churches, and kill people who are simply protecting their homes. Vikings were slavers and rapists.

I'm not complaining, I think the setting is fun and enjoyable, but we are most assuredly playing as the "bad guys" of history. It'd be akin to playing as a British officer in India, a Rhodesian in Africa or a Conquistador in Central America. I have a gut feeling if any AC games are set in those time periods the main character will be from the other side.

But in all reality... haha long boat go burt.

Assassin's creed Syndicate - why didn't Haytham open the secret room in the Kenway manor?

    Posted: 25 Mar 2021 10:10 AM PDT

It's implied in the game that only assassins can open it since they can use eagle vision/senses to see the clues, but in AC3 when we play as Haytham he also uses eagle vision. It was his home and he should have been able to find that hidden room, so why didn't he?

And it bugs me out that it's implied that eagle vision is only assassins that can use when it's different ideologies, not genetics.

Daughter of Lerion fights are stupid fun

    Posted: 25 Mar 2021 02:47 PM PDT

I went at the weakest at around 70 power and beat her. Tried to do the others and really couldn't win. Today I beat both the other sisters and here are my tips:

    • Power level 115ish
    • 3 rations at least
    • 4 adrenaline bars
    • Rage oh Helhiem ability lvl 2
    • Brush with Death skill.
    • Learn her tactics, when you parry, Helhiem her to the ground go nuts. Any time you get a slow down moment use a light bow and shoot her weak spots for a stun move.

This was my method for a fun, yet still challenging fight against the Daughters of Lerion. What were your methods to take them down? Any future fights I can look forward to?

So with the Immortals: Fenyx Rising DLC going completely Chinese, do you think AC might head the same direction?

    Posted: 25 Mar 2021 01:57 PM PDT

We know the AC Odyssey crew worked on Fenyx Rising and was kinda their labor of love, but the newest DLC sees a brand new character coming in to help save a mythological China. Do you think this might be a test run for AC? Figure out some assets and environments for the next mainline AC game?

We already know that Ubisoft is in good standing with their Chinese studio, and clearly it's a massive market. Plus with the (albeit misplaced) addition of Chinese characters and a Chinese shield in Valhalla and an AC Chronicles game in the same place, and the success of Ghost of Tsushima (I know that game is Japanese, but many studios are apprehensive that Western audiences would not play a game with Asian main characters) might we finally get an Chinese mainline AC game?

What's your safe space in Assassin's Creed games?

    Posted: 25 Mar 2021 09:51 AM PDT

I've seen this question asked on another reddit community and thought I would make it Assassin's Creed oriented. Basically where in the AC games do you feel safe, calm and relaxed? Somewhere you could travel to when you need a break with no enemies, challenges or action? Your shelter basically?

For me, I can remember 2 safe spaces I could revisit over and over without getting bored:
    1. Monteriggioni in AC2: Basically the countryside, town and villa feel very cozy. You could ride around on horseback in the countryside, parkour in the town or explore the villa with no distractions or worries about getting detected or attacked by guards. It was my to go to place when I felt like I needed a break from the game's challenges. It brought me a sense of calm and complete freedom. It was like my own little town, free to do as I like. It used to bring me serenity.

    1. The Café Théâtre in AC: Unity: Not as grand or as vast as Monteriggioni, but something about a cozy cafe in the middle of a busy Paris used to bring me a sense of relief and joy. Considering Unity's time period, France was crowded with people and chaos and the cafe was like an escape from all that. A quiet place for you to relax and just walk around, explore and parkour. The cafe just has a sense of calmness and elegance about it.

What about you guys? What's your safe space throughout AC games? Where do you feel calm, relaxed and safe?

[Spoilers] The best weapons in Valhalla & how to get them

    Posted: 25 Mar 2021 08:21 PM PDT

How do you actually do finishers? (AC Valhalla)

    Posted: 25 Mar 2021 10:20 AM PDT

I'm not speaking about the finishers where you use your enemies weapons (when you completely deplete their stamina and bring them on their knees), I'm speaking about the finishers where you use your own weapons, I have never encountered one

AC:OD - Why is Photo mode not accessible anymore when using certain abilities like Rush Assassination?

    Posted: 25 Mar 2021 08:33 PM PDT

When the game first launched i could use assassination abilities like rush assassination and use photo mode. Later, for some reason, it didn't work anymore. Rush assassination, enhanced call to arms and possibly more abilities. Really disappointing to be honest.

The story of Greek Revolution 1821 could be a very nice Assasin's Creed game

    Posted: 25 Mar 2021 04:04 AM PDT

As today is the celebration of 200 years from the Greek Independence Day against the Ottomans (25th of March 1821), and everyone is talking about this revolutionary war and all the battles that happened in Greece and in Aegean Sea, imagine a new Assasin's Creed with the real story behind this war. Battles in the old villages of Greece against the Ottomans being a greek warrior. This would be revolutionary. An Assasin's Creed like Odyssey but in the more modern world with new but old guns and all the greek and ottoman traditional clothing.

Tell me what do you think about this idea. :D

Are there still people who play Black Flag Multiplayer?

    Posted: 25 Mar 2021 10:32 AM PDT

Hi, I know it's been a long time since the game came out and hardly anyone is playing multiplayer but maybe there is someone else who is currently playing and would be willing to make these stupid achievements?

I am the type of player who maxes out almost every game and I am irritated by the inability to get these 3 or 4 achievements.

Why aren't my Master Assassin Missions Part 2 now showing up in AC: Revelations?

    Posted: 25 Mar 2021 05:21 PM PDT

    Hey everyone,

I recently decided to play all of the AC games to full completion. I'm currently playing AC: Revelations and I have a question about master assassin missions. So, I have liberated the maximum amount of citizens and assigned all of them to the dens (7 in total). All of my assassins are above level 10 and that's when the Master assassin Part 1 missions showed up for me. I completed those. 3 of my assassins are now level 14 with full XP but my part 2 missions are not showing up. I have done everything in the game; completed the story line 100%, collected every collectible, completed all the side missions, liberated and bought every single building in the game.

Is it possible the Jackdaw still lives?

    Posted: 25 Mar 2021 05:21 AM PDT

In freedom cry you find the Jackdaw's wreck, supposedly sunk after Kenway donated it to the brotherhood. However the ship noticeably lacks a lot of the upgrades it had by the end of AC4, particularly some of the mental struts along the hull.

I don't how "canon" the upgrades are but is it possible that the ship Adewale finds is not actually the jackdaw but a similar brig, that was simply given the figure head and name plate to pretend Kenway was still active in the Caribbeans, while they held on to the original ship for special operations or in some shipyard.
