I miss the days where AC didn't try to be fantasy

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 04:30 PM PDT

Man, replaying Black Flag and Unity makes me realize that AC had an immersive realism to it. Sure there was the scifi aspect, but I mean I had no fire swords, wolves appear out of thin air, ghost arrows, etc. It seems like new AC tries to pepper their content with mmo fantasy moves. It tonally makes things feel awkward. AC used to sort of be like Uncharted - a grounded experience that would sacrifice moments of realism for the sake of a good adventure, and would ultimately have some farfetched aspect at the end.

I miss this. I mean Black Flag can look pretty dated at times but there's an immersion to it I don't get with something like Valhalla.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla Disables Seasonal Content To Fix Crashes

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 04:55 AM PDT

    Source: https://screenrant.com/assassins-creed-valhalla-seasonal-content-disabled-crashes/

While I am happy with the extra content UBI is adding to the game, I think they should first focus A LOT more on bugs and glitches. Every patch seems to sort some bugs, but bring many new ones. Why not falling back to more frequent updates, to quickly fix this, rather than 1 update a month?

Some of you may have seen my last post here a few months back. Back then i made shay and connors assassins robes, i also said back then that i was working on 2 other suits and this is the result of it. Currently making Ezio (revelations) and altair. feedback is always welcome.

the enemy ai ruined stealth in ac val for me

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 10:37 AM PDT

they made the ai waaaay toO sensetive and smart in this game, it's not fun anymore

i get detected by enemy from far away and it's unfair. and why there is no throwable smoke bombs and cherry bombs??? like there were already in pervious games. removing them is a blatant down grade and is unacceptable, in odyssey u could go invisible. and chain kill up to 4 enemy, u can't do it in this game... WHY THEY ARE GOING BACKWARDS

    ps: i'm on easy

downgrading in valhalla is pretty cool

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 06:06 PM PDT

i really enjoy this feature they added. It made me stop trying to get enough resources to upgrade literally everything because i realized, if i want to use something else i bc an downgrade what i'm currently using or downgrade a different item and improve and upgrade the other thing i want to use, and if i want to do it again nothings stopping me as long as i have the money, tbh i'm not sure if downgrading is new or if i only just now realized it lol

My experience with Valhalla don’t worry no spoilers just my thoughts on the game

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 02:57 PM PDT

Ok so I'm not gonna hide the fact that I love this game. I've loved origins, I loved odyssey, and now I can say now that I'm on my second play through, that I love Valhalla. The games world and its lore is in my own opinion amazing. I love the combat in the game it feels smooth and fluid. The stealth in the game to me feels like the best in the series and the main character (I chose male eivor) is just amazing. I was hooked from beginning to end and I loved every second of it.

My Idea for an Assassin's Creed Game set during the Italian Resurgence (1848 - 1871)

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 02:56 PM PDT

My Idea for an Assassin's Creed Game set during the Italian Resurgence (1848 - 1871)

Assassin's Creed Setting Idea - The Resurgence

    Historical Background

Resurgence was the 19th-century political and social movement that resulted in the consolidation of different states of the Italian Peninsula into a single state, the Kingdom of Italy.

The main impetus to the Risorgimento came from reforms introduced by the French when they dominated Italy during the period of the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic wars (1796–1815). A number of Italian states were briefly consolidated, first as republics and then as satellite states of the French empire, and, even more importantly, the Italian middle class grew in numbers and was allowed to participate in government. After Napoleon's defeat in 1815, the Italian states were restored to their former rulers. Under the domination of Austria, these states took on a conservative character. Secret societies such as the Carbonari opposed this development in the 1820s and '30s. The first avowedly republican and national group was Young Italy, founded by Giuseppe Mazzini in 1831. This society, which represented the democratic aspect of the Risorgimento, hoped to educate the Italian people to a sense of their nationhood and to encourage the masses to rise against the existing reactionary regimes. Other groups, such as the Neo-Guelfs, envisioned an Italian confederation headed by the pope; still others favoured unification under the house of Savoy, monarchs of the liberal northern Italian state of Piedmont-Sardinia. After the failure of liberal and republican revolutions in 1848, leadership passed to Piedmont. With French help, the Piedmontese defeated the Austrians in 1859 and united most of Italy under their rule by 1861. The annexation of Venetia in 1866 and papal Rome in 1870 marked the final unification of Italy and hence the end of the Resurgence (until the WWI [terre irredente])

Civil War in the center of Milan - 1948

    Gameplay and Game World

A game set during the Resurgence would have primarily take place in Turin, Milan, Genoa, Venice, Naples and Rome between 1864 and 1871. As for parkour, stealth and combat, it could be a combination of AC Syn/Unity and AC Valhalla mechanics. .

    Genoa - 1850/1860

    Turin Massacre - 1864

During the 19th century, cities like Milan, Turin, and Venice continued to evolve into more modern cities with an integration of technology. Although the use of the grappling hook by the Assassins dates back to 1868 with the fight of the Frye Twins against the Starricks in London, there is no reason not to alter the tradition to confirm the invention of grappling hooks in various urbanized locations in Europe.

    Activities and World Events

Gambling was popular so games like trump, checkers, poker and others would be perfect as minigames. There could be clandestine fights, carriage races. You could be part of the revolution in a more evident way. As for world events, I imagine them very similar and ugly as in Valhalla s /.A great return as regards the imaginary of the Italian Resurgence is the management of a Cafè or a Newspaper that could revive the renovation mechanisms of the old games, especially thanks to the fact that one could play on the concept of ''Merchandise'' in the North of Italy.

    Plot

In my idea the game should start in Alessandria, a large provincial city located in Piedmont known for being at the centre of the commercial triangle of Northern Italy, with a strong influence of the Freemasons and a place of battles started by Napoleon Bonaparte and Federico Barbarossa (in the legends of city is said to have been defeated by a single mysterious figure). These elements could even link the plot of Assassin's Creed 1 and Assassin's Creed Unity united precisely by the fury of Napoleon at the time of the destruction of the historic Cathedral and by Barbarossa's insistence to raid and seek riches within the city.City that was even founded by the papacy and that has Roman ruins in the surroundings and a strange centuries-old oak that the people connect to Napoleon. In the course of the plot we would find a way to join the ``Young Italians '' a political group devoted to the liberation of the country that represents a facade of the brotherhood of the assassins of which we will formally become members once we rise in rank and have liberated enough areas. This will lead us to clash with the Carbonari, a secret society not linked to the Templars but with very similar customs and with the Templars themselves represented by the nobles of the various Italic kingdoms and by the soldiers of the invading countries.I find it a good opportunity to give lots of answers to lore holes and to connect lots of little dots between the plots of all these last 20 games.

P.S If the game had a rather long setting period, it could even make the protagonist meet an elderly Arno Dorian and the Frye Twins at different moments in his life. The latter perhaps interested in the mysticism of the city of Turin and the presence of the Holy Shroud.

Inspired by u / AncientConqueror for the model (I'm not English, I needed a grammatically correct model to build on haha)

Will the modern setting ever get its own game

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 07:20 PM PDT

Theyve been tugging on the modern story thread a long time. Pieces of Eden, precursors, end times coming, etc. Will there ever be a game that really puts the abstergo story as the main setting? Do you want that?

Honestly either they should just drop it entirely and stick to the historical settings, or go ahead and hammer that story home.

AC Origins Animus Control Panel confirmed discontinued.

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 09:39 PM PDT

I decided to reinstall AC Origins after getting a new hard drive and found out ACP not loading. After hours of trying to troubleshoot it and Googling possibke fixes, I decided to browse the Steam forum and found a thread where a Ubisoft spokesperson said that ACP would not be coming back to Ubisoft Connect.

    "Hey folks,

Looking into this, the feature was removed from the Ubisoft Connect overlay and will not be readded.

    Apologies for any inconvenience caused!

    • Ubisoft Support"

I was pretty sure i saw a post that said they were looking into it but it since got deleted and the one confirming its not coming back stayed.

Thats a real shame, i always thought that was a cool feature and more games should have it. Maybe they will reconsider or if someone knows how it can be reactivated by other i'd be interested in trying them out.

The era for the next AC game

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 08:18 PM PDT

So since they changed their style to RPG, and since I await a new trailer for AC every year, I think that the best idea now would be either that they make a native american story again but not this time focused on the Independence of America and their conflict with England, but more on the collonialization (dunno if i spelled it right) and the arrival of europeans. Same could go for the Aztecs and Conquistadors. A samurai theme with mongols...maybe later, we already got Ghost of Tsushima and another idea would be the Turks arriving on the Balkans and their battles with Serbs as they were the gate for their spreading to almost Vienna and the whole Balkans.

Visual customization using purchased items in Odyssey?

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 05:52 PM PDT

There doesn't seem to be a way to use your purchased items when transmogging? I'm getting tired of constantly trying to upgrade what I've bought, figured if I could just change the appearance of something else into what I bought (Pegasos bundle) it would save me time and effort. Am I missing something? Is it because it's gold gear? The Ezio and Northern Traveler's gear are gold and you can use them when changing the appearance of other gear.

[Spoiler] Question about the lore of AC Unity.

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 12:23 PM PDT

So its almost common knowledge that Arno (protagonist of Ac Unity) was kicked out of the creed. However he still kept his hidden blade and his robes?
Why would the creed kick him out but not take away the blade? The robes I can understand, they are his clothes now and don't really mean anything.

Did Arno steal back the blade and we just don't see it? Did someone sneak it out to him? Hell did they even take it away in the first place?

Does anyone care to shed some light on this because its disturbing me about the lore of Unity?

The AC movie from 2016 seemingly confirms the existence of a branch of the Brotherhood in the Confederacy during the American Civil War.

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 09:25 AM PDT

I had just bought the movie at an antique store yesterday and decided to delve into the special features. Less than five minutes in they show a scene from the movie where Cal Lynch is looking at Abstergo's research which traces back his ancestry to Aguilar and everyone in between. Among the images present is an unknown ancestor who was part of the Assassin Brotherhood which seemed to be aligned with the Confederate States.

    https://i.redd.it/u2m5zixajeo61.jpg

I don't know to what extent the film is considered canon to the rest of the games (aside from Layla and Sofia Rikkin exchanging emails in AC Origins), but this has some very intriguing implications. Will the Civil War be a setting explored in a future game? And if so, why would the Assassins be backing the Confederates rather than the Union?

I'd be intrigued to hear what you all have to say on the subject.

Game suggestion - Ancient Rome, set immediately after Origins

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 03:29 AM PDT

I think Ubisoft set themselves up perfectly to do multiple games with Bayek or Aya

In my opinion Ubisoft missed a trick with the follow up to AC Origins. I feel like the ending of Origins set the scene perfectly for a game immediately following it, exploring the early Roman Empire, with Aya or Bayek based in Rome and Italy. I know AC have done Rome before, but the time period is totally different, not too mention the capability of modern tech to create much larger maps. Essentially I feel like it could have been an opportunity to do something like they did with the Ezio trilogy, following 1 of those characters throughout their life and in a variety of locations across the Roman Empire, given how rich the time period is. What do you guys think?

Spear finishing moves in Origins are some of the best I've ever seen

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 06:58 AM PDT

In so many games, the finishing moves just look super pathetic or really clunky. I had played most of the game with a sword, but I was messing around with the Sarissa, only to find that the finishing moves with spears look super amazing. Really glad that they put attention to detail in these, and it makes me excited to try the other weapon types now!

What do you want from the nextGen AC open world?

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 10:37 AM PDT

So rummors are floating for the nextGen AC (AC Knighthood or AC Japan) Considering the SSD tech of the next gen consoles and how fast it can stream gigantic amounts of data like 3d models ( Unreal engine 5) What you hope to see in the nextGen AC titles. 1) Bigger open worlds but a lot more detailed and closer to real scale 2) multiple locations with 2-3 big main maps or different timelines-periods of the same map 3) smaller single hub like maps like the rummored AC Knighthood hinting to small locations like Rhodes, Scisilly, Constantinople, Jerusalem and more.
