[Spoilers] Assassin's Creed 3 is one of the best games of the series

    Posted: 13 Mar 2021 03:52 AM PST

It got a lot of undeserved backlash in my opinion.

Connor is a great character, not exactly charismatic but that was the point. His story was a tragedy all the way through.

I liked how they handled the American Revolution, it felt like you were involved in it and it wasn't wasted like the French Revolution in Unity.

The soundtrack, especially the main theme is epic and still gives me chills. Haytham is the best "villian" of the series, really one of the rare templars who make sense. I wish Rogue was about him than boring Shay. I miss having Templars like Haytham, the last few games had only crazy evil templars basically (in origins they seemed to be sadistic).

The Modern Day was amazing as well apart from the wtf ending

[AC4] I just sunk the HMS Fearless and the Royal Sovereign. I feel like after a workout.

    Posted: 13 Mar 2021 09:51 AM PST

    Pretty much title.

I started playing Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag again and I wanna go for 100%. I never did those Legendary Ship battles and oh my god are they hard to defeat.

It took me so long to sink the twin ships and I need to take a break now XD

Thoughts on the inventory screen in Valhalla

    Posted: 13 Mar 2021 08:17 AM PST

Am I the only person who would love to have a way to better organize the gear in the inventory screen? I'm still relatively fresh to the game (I've only put about 30 hours in), but I don't know if I'll ever be able to recognize at a glance what "clan" my gear belongs to (bear, raven, wolf). I realize I might be in the minority, but I like to have all my gear be part of the same clan to take advantage of the stat boosts (and maybe a touch of OCD).

Aside from this, it would just be great to have them be able to be organized in a way similar to how they have been in the past two games, for instance you could sort by attack strength in ascending/descending order.

Does anybody else think this would be a good idea?

Assassin's Creed IV World Premiere Trailer (4K)

    Posted: 13 Mar 2021 08:59 PM PST

Mind Blown... Connor is a teenager in Sequence 5.

    Posted: 13 Mar 2021 09:56 PM PST

Replaying Assassins Creed 3 Remastered and noticed something for the first time. The AC Wiki lists Connor's birthday as April 5, 1756. The Boston Massacre occurred on March 5, 1770. Connor was 13 years old during that mission. Honestly I never did the math and always thought he was in his mid 20s at that point.

I think too many people didn’t actually use the tools at your disposal in the older games

    Posted: 13 Mar 2021 08:35 PM PST

And no I'm not just talking about social stealth I mean dead body lures, smoke bombs, rope darts. Because it wasn't traditional crouch behind a chair stealth people thought it was bad stealth. But you actually had a lot of options of how you can stealthy take out a group. I'd post a video of me luring a guard with a dead body then rope darting him to a bush, then stealthy killing the captain with another lure. But, this place is pretty strict on videos so I couldn't post it. Point is stealth in the old games wasn't bad just different. So if you return to the old games try to think in in a different way.

[Spoiler] The lack of the Battle of Edington disappointed quite a lot

    Posted: 13 Mar 2021 02:29 PM PST

I finished Valhalla yesterday and have had an incredible time with this game. While its not the perfect game, I don't think I have ever played a game that has appealed to me the way this one has. I mean...Dark Ages of England? The Great Heathen Army? The Heptarchy? Vikings? C'mon. I sometimes felt that this game was designed specifically for me. But there is one thing I really do not get. With all this focus on telling a Viking story rather than an Assassin versus Templar story, I found it absolutely insane that the main story ends around four months before the climactic battle that literally ends all hostilities between the Danes and the Saxons. Hostilities that the entire game is centered around. If it was an Assassin v Templar focused story, I would get why it would not be important. But in a Viking centered story? C'mon.

I do hope that the battle will be depicted at the end of the first DLC. Maybe we travel to Ireland with Halfdan at the beginning, suffer a colossal defeat to Bárid mac Ímair, get taken prisoner by Bárid, then do all of the stuff we need to do in Ireland, and then at the end we learn that Alfred has gathered his forces and is marching on Guthrum, which forces Eivor to quickly get back to England, suffer another colossal defeat which will then lead to a time of peace.

Given that this game (with DLCs) will cover Eivor's story into at least 886, the battle will obviously happen in the story's timeline, but I refuse to believe that this moment in history will be occur off-screen.

What do you guys think? Will it happen in the first DLC? Or should this history nerd just give up his hopes xD

I need help finding old videos

    Posted: 13 Mar 2021 10:20 PM PST

So AC Unity was my favorite AC game, and I miss the character customization loadout videos, so I tried to look for them but I can find them. They're the ones that would show you what clothing options to chose, colors, and weapons to look like specific things like medieval knights, ninjas, and even Jedi lol. I got the game and I want to find those videos again but there's no trace of them anymore :/

Origins - Hyena Storyline - A Positive Ending?

    Posted: 13 Mar 2021 09:39 AM PST

I'm sure not many people play origins anymore but for anyone that does I wanted to provide a walkthrough to taking Khaliset (the hyena) back to her daughters tomb to rest.

Here is an imgur gallery walkthrough.

Essentially you need to carry Khaliset's body backwards through the tunnel you exited during the fight against her, with some clever throwing and body manipulation you can lay her to rest next her daughter.

    Did anyone else do this?

Need help finding supplies in Valhalla.

    Posted: 13 Mar 2021 07:00 PM PST

I'm trying to get my village to level 6 and I've done all the raids. Still need like 5000 supplies and looting towns is only giving me like 100 supplies per box. Is there a faster way to get larger amounts?

(Spoilers) Do you have to finish Valka’s quests to understand the end of Valhalla?

    Posted: 13 Mar 2021 02:51 PM PST

Had the house to myself today so played Valhalla hard to finish. Finished off the order and all of the territory pledges, but I don't really understand what happened (particularly with the modern day). Is it because I didn't finish Valka's dream quests?

Edit: watched a YouTube explanation video and it seems like you have to do all of the glitch puzzles and finish Valka's quest to (kind sorta) understand the ending. Leaving this here for the benefit of posterity.

Waiting on NG+ for valhalla but unsure if it'll ever happen

    Posted: 13 Mar 2021 06:34 PM PST

I really liked valhalla and am hoping for a ng+ so I can have a reason to redo it but the more I think about it the more I realise why there probably won't be ng+ for it. Unlike origins and odyssey gear and ability are a large part of valhalla and full up a lot of its map. In origins and odyssey you could get gear from just murdering enemies but in valhalla you have to actively seek it out so if new game plus we're implemented that would remove a large portion of the overall game. I don't know how ubisoft would resolve that issue to make it so there wasn't a gap in ng+ gameplay but, let's be honest, ubisoft isn't the biggest advocate for improving problems with well thought out solutions. Anyway that's just my thought on valhallas prospect for a ng+ and why I doubt it'll happen, unfortunately. I vs otn really have an ending in mind for this post so just tall me below if you have any reasons I'm wrong (because I hope I'm wrong. I want ng+) ir anythin else.

AC4 shoulda had more variety in weapon types like ac3 did

    Posted: 13 Mar 2021 12:32 PM PST

having dual swords is cool and gives you a badass feeling of being a fearless pirate and all. but if im being honest i dont like how thats the only weapon class in the game thats equip able. i know that there is the occasional axe wielding enemies in the game that drop the axe after being killed, but personally i prefer more variety when it comes to weapons classes.

unlike ac4, ac3 did a good job of having a good selection of weapons classes (my personal favourite was the blunt class) i really missed the small weapons and single handed weapons too.

idk this is just personal preference

What are some people's favorite Assassins (or Templars) and why?

    Posted: 13 Mar 2021 05:58 PM PST

I've been playing through the series and I'm on Unity still. I've decided to write down and rank all the characters so far based on different criteria (for my own purposes of just because) so I was just wondering what others thought about the many playable characters from all the games and why they think so highly or poorly of them.

I think so far I still like Ezio the best, mostly because he got the most characterization, and I found that he had a fairly relatable arc from brash young man focused on revenge to wizened, mature leader and master Assassin. Plus I had the most fun with the game play and the variety of challenges like the beat up events and thief races.

My least favorite so far is probably Adèwalè. Not so much as an Assassin or as a character, he certainly had noble goals, I think it's more that the game/dlc was just too short, so they crammed a lot into a short space, and there was no room to really flesh out the character beyond one goal really. And I admit, my opinion is a bit biased because I had issues with the game itself, a lot of mostly minor bugs that made it a slog to get through.

Whenever we get an ancient Rome game they should use a separate system for the inevitable gladiator fight mini-games----Maybe For Honor's

    Posted: 13 Mar 2021 05:00 AM PST

I know they did gladiators in Origins but its not like they got rid of ship combat after introducing it in AC3. I think a game set in Rome during the imperial period would be rad but I also think it should be more stealth and parkour focused. A good way to incorporate better combat systems is to include stuff they already have. They could use For Honor combat in an arena, hell maybe even make it coop or multiplayer.

    Maybe this is too controversial.

    (SPOILER) Haytham suicide

    Posted: 13 Mar 2021 09:27 PM PST

Haytham let himself die. he was versed in all sorts of knowledge and knew connor had a hidden blade, ik this is a popular topic but there's just no way he would've died like that, he had time to respond, seen the blade, etc. haytham probably knew what he's done was wrong and let himself die so he wouldn't have to answer for his deeds. thoughts?

Spoilers: Confused how to continue main arc

    Posted: 13 Mar 2021 01:25 PM PST

So I'm beyond confused with this game

I've forged all the alliances. Defeated Basim. Had the talk with Sigurd.

Went back to complete Asgard arc (done) and defeat the order and do the Hamtunscire arc so I could discover the Father. But nothing. I can't do the hamtunscire arc. Can't find the father. Just says complete the main story. But I already did! What the heck?

What do I do? Video below shows I've done everything. No quests left

Darius should have been the main character of Odyssey

    Posted: 13 Mar 2021 03:27 PM PST

Imagine a game where you have to start off by assassinating King Xerxes, and you have to spend the entirety of the story running from the Order of the Ancients, the story can be changed where he runs to Greece earlier and has to simultaneously protect his family and try to take down the Order in the midst of the Peloponnesian War.

He could still become a mercenary so that we can have all of the battle fantasies of an Ancient Greece AC, but Darius's character would not only be more interesting, but he would also have more relation to the AC story as a whole, not only being the first to use the hidden blade but also being one of the first to defy the Order.

The game could still end with Darius taking his grandchild to Egypt to be safe (and this is probably asking a little too much but having a prologue or DLC set in Egypt would also be a nice touch)

Why is AC still dragging on the Animus?

    Posted: 13 Mar 2021 06:56 PM PST

I get it it's like a part of the whole storyline or something (I started playing after origins so idk much about the story), but seriously, who still cares about it? I've got friends who are also playing actively, and they agreed with me that Animus part of every AC is boring.

For my understanding, people play AC to get into that time and setting, not because they really want to know about animus? Assassins creed sells itself because of the awesome graphic and their time settings, who still needs animus?

Does anyone here enjoy it? Can anyone explain if it's really a big deal and I'm wrong?

AC Valhalla. For those struggling with fishing or throwing objects after customizing controls

    Posted: 13 Mar 2021 02:11 PM PST

I've customised my controls (xbox) to be more like the alternative scheme from Origins and Oddysey however it messes up the above scenarios. I've been able to make them work using a few tricks. My aim and throw/cast line controls are LT and Y respectively. Depending on your exact setup the below tips may vary in success.

For PS players LT = L2 and Y = triangle

For throwing bodies/jars: press the aim & throw buttons at the same time. It may take a few tries to get the timing right.

For fishing: hold the cast line button while tapping the aim button. This is basically backwards, but it works for me.

    Hope it helps.
