Disconnect in Assassin's Creed II tiem progression Posted: 06 Oct 2020 10:14 PM PDT I've recently started playing through the series and currently almost done with the Assassin's Creed II. I just came here to say something I barely hear when people talk about this game. How bizzare the time progresses in this game. I've been pretty consistently playing it over the last 4 days, and it is insane to me that up to sequence 13, the game supposedly took place over 22 years. There seems to be almost no progression in Ezio as a character. Sometimes missions that seem like they take place within minutes of each other, are supposedly happening in the span of years. I honestly didnt realise that time was passing so fast untill in Sequence 13, after mercy killing the monk, Ezio says "I've stood here 22 years ago watching my loved one's die" Recently coming from Lats of Us Part II, it seems so bizzare that almost 90% of the game takes place within 3 days and here it's the opposite where missions only a small walk apart actually take Ezio up to 2 years to complete [link] [comments]

Posted: 06 Oct 2020 03:18 AM PDT So, I watched all of the ac trailers again and realized that ezio is the only one who took the leap of faith without any grass or water beneath him in revelation's trailer. [link] [comments]

IMO most of the outfits in assassins creed don't make sense. Posted: 06 Oct 2020 11:48 PM PDT So let me explain, I think that in order for a proper 'social stealth' situation you would need an outfit much like everyone else on the street, which is why people joke about Altair covered in weapons hiding among the monks, sidenote, isn't the point of a hidden blade the fact that you wouldn't see them coming? so basically you look at a crowd and you see Altair, he is pretty shady, as well as most assassins I can think of, except maybe the frye twins, in a series about social stealth isn't this strange to anyone else? I think sure you could say they are not meant to blend into a crowd or disguise themselves but that's part of the games. any thoughts/ help anyone? [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 Oct 2020 07:03 PM PDT Imagine a setting where you play as an escaped human, on a map full of Isu Cities. You have to survive while slowly building a base, and assassinating the ruling government of Isu to ensure human freedom. It could at least be a DLC to explore and tie in to something. If it were made, what would the style be and what would y'all like to see? [link] [comments]
Darius age in Legacy Of The First Blade? Posted: 06 Oct 2020 09:09 PM PDT how old is Darius in the Legacy Of The First Blade? I'm asking cause when he takes Elpidios to Egypt at the end of the DLC, Darius seems way too old to raise Elpidios on his own, so I'm just asking. [link] [comments]
How connected is Unity to the other games? Posted: 06 Oct 2020 09:03 PM PDT Hey guys, so I'll get straight to the point. I'm a bit of an AC noob, and I just started AC2 after watching an AC1 summary. It's pretty good so far, and I fully plan on completing the Ezio trilogy. However, I'm also highly interested in French history and I wanna directly play Unity after the Ezio games. Also the gameplay looks AWESOME. What I wanna know is how connected is it to the previous games? Will I have to play/watch a summary of AC3, Black Flag, Rogue, to understand it, or is it separate. I ask this cause I wanna eventually play these games, but not right now. Thanks guys, and I look forward to joining the AC community!! [link] [comments]

The point of Viewpoints? [Origins] Posted: 06 Oct 2020 03:12 PM PDT So after years of being a die hard AC fan and not wanting to give Origins a shot dude to the RPG elements, gameplay changes and lack of understanding/care about the story (outside of Animus) since AC3... I decided to jump I die to it being on sale...and I'm thoroughly stuck in the game. Although one thing just bothers me and that is Viewpoints, why are they in this game? Besides a trophy and it being an AC game, for me nothing new appears on the map that wasn't there before when I synchronize...why? Am I missing something? [link] [comments]

Posted: 07 Oct 2020 12:05 AM PDT I'm currently at level 32 of Origins and my quest involves killing a boss (Flavius), who is levelled at 35. Naturally no matter what I do, I keep dying whenever I go up against him. It's honestly a real shame. I love the game and storyline. I love the setting, the atmosphere and gameplay but the game now feels like a chore. The grinding is simply done for the sake of grinding. The side quests are boring and rarely ever add content to the overall story. It's poor game design once grinding begins to feel like grinding instead of it feeling like a natural part of the game. There's no point in making a loaded game if the quests they're loaded with are boring and tedious. Quantity =/= Quality. [link] [comments]
Will Valhalla have a mercenaries or cultists sort of system? Posted: 06 Oct 2020 03:14 PM PDT I loved that stuff in Odyssey. It made that game my favorite in the series. [link] [comments]
Conspiracy Theory: William Miles is a Templar Posted: 06 Oct 2020 07:36 AM PDT I would have thought this to be an old conspiracy but I can't find anything, so... If you're an Order that wants peace through control and have an enemy that you haven't been able to eradicate despite multiple purges throughout history, what do you do? You try to control it. Like a disease that can't be cured, you learn to manage the triggers and the symptoms. When Daniel Cross infiltrated and betrayed the Assassins, nearly all the camps were destroyed - except for those that William Miles warned. Who warned him? In being a key part of the survival of a few, William moved himself from a comparatively equal, powerless position to top contender for the new Mentor - and led at least the American teams. William devoted The Farm to training new recruits. Of the recruits that we know of, Lucy was sent into Abstergo and converted (her position 'somehow' discovered, her life threatened, a Templar set up to act as her saviour), Clay was sent as a subject and suicided. Both were abandoned by William. All other Assassins from the Farm later died in a doomed attempt at rescuing Desmond, of which only William survived. The Farm itself was destroyed, with only 'ruins' a few years later. The Templars found Desmond because he registered his fingerprints when buying a motorcycle. How and where and from whom did they get those prints? Meanwhile, suitable people were poached from Abstergo - such as the dissatisfied Layla Hassan who just so happened to be attacked by Abstergo and then was found by William who had somehow 'caught wind' of her situation. Why should the Templars kill her and lose her abilities, or fire her and risk loose lips, when the Assassins could satisfy her need to feel like she was doing something and keep her neatly contained within the secrecy of the Brotherhood? William even managed to 'recruit' an unashamed Templar (Victoria Bibeau) who had been pretty ruthless in exploiting her patients for the Templars as part of studying the bleeding effect. Who voluntarily left Abstergo with no objection from the company despite the many dark secrets she held. Who seemed to have no good reason to join the Assassins - or be recruited, except as support for the Assassin branch doing DNA dives, with all data ultimately being shared with the Templars. Warren Vidic would email Lucy for updates, pretending to be William. Not only did he have access to the network - the Assassins continued to use it even after Lucy was discovered to be a traitor and William joined them. There should have been reasonable grounds to check her emails and discover the false contacts, maybe some kind of overhaul of the system. Nope. This was the same system William used to update Shaun on the status of other teams and idly comment that they "may have lost another one" when they go dark, like it was such a common event. William actively and openly planned to recruit the Initiates, even though he knew full well that they published everything they found about both sides. Two of them were permitted to stay with Gavin on the Altair II (after another orchestrated 'threat to life' paired with 'mercy/look at us being so reasonable' manipulation move). William abandoned his son's body in the Grand Temple, despite knowing what wealth of Isu genetic data it held. He didn't bury or burn it. He hauled ass out of there, leaving plenty of time for Templar recovery teams to grab the body and get viable DNA samples. Six months later he 'retires out of grief' and promptly falls off the map - and has private bunkers - but is still moving about in the shadows. He comes back, claiming to be 're-ignited' to fight Templars and is made the world-wide Mentor. His only concern for his grandson is the use he could provide as a Sage. Now, I'm not saying William completely drank the Kool Aid and believes the party line. But, if faced with his own execution or the 'management' of the Assassins for the betterment of all.. I can see him doing both. Like Al Mualim before him, there was nothing stopping him from seeking his own power on the side. Or, maybe he also had a crisis of faith. Maybe his slow but steady bleeding of Assassin lives (while blaming the Templars) and importing of Templars into its ranks is part of a slow change of mindset that seeks to keep the Order, but change the way it operates and thinks and functions. To neutralise the threat from within, at the cultural level. To keep them fighting just enough to satisfy, not enough to change anything - and meanwhile benefiting the Templars through mobilisation of those people who would never sign up to work at a company like Abstergo, but would absolutely be fanatic in their work for Assassins. Posted: 06 Oct 2020 11:46 AM PDT Hello. As I stated before in an other post, despite everything I read and heard, I would install and play Unity. Oh, so I did. This is my report. u/WinterGalaxy441 , You wanted me to tag you in my post so you can read it. Here we are. Now to the actual report. Preamble. I must admit, I played each single AC-Game and played it through the whole story up to the end and enjoyed it 100%. I even went so far to 100% complete everything in Odyssey which I did for the second time in AC Game and enjoyed each minute of those 200+ Hours (1st time was in AC2). Positive sides I liked. Game-Start. AC Unity brings in new wind in starting the game. Although short and non-important, it is a small and interesting addition I enjoyed. More actually because it surprised me as in 'where is the game menu. What is it? Abstergo-Simulator?' Mechanics. The game-mechanics were smooth and although Arno got stuck in some obstacles during the parkour, it was really enjoyable and easy to control. It resembled me of some other titles, but later about it. Lip-Sync. O M G. This lip-syncing is perfect in Unity. It feels almost real people would move their mouths in real time for the characters. Really liked it. Thank you, Ubi, this felt amazing. Negative sides I didn't like. Story. Shallow, not-in-depth-written scenario. I am really sorry to admit it, but together with the next point, this story could be sold like an alternative mission pack for AC3. Someone said something about the Romeo&Julia vibe in AC Unity.. This can be said about any and every game/movie/story/etc. where two persons from 2 war sides fell for each other. Thus the writing of the actual love-story feels like it was written by a 16 years old teen girl in puberty who just watched Twilight and wants to see the same crap in whatever and wherever she is currently involved in.. Bad. Writing. Rest Main Story resembles the one of AC3 and from what I've seen so far it copies some and in the end a lot of different aspects of AC3. I really liked AC3, but this feels just wrong. Every AC Game should be individual. Side quests.. Oh my dear side quests. So many lost opportunities here. Many different stories and characters which felt like been thrown in just to have 'more-things-to-do'(tm). Rather than having some characters with in-depth thought out side-stories and -quests, Unity tries to overwhelm with a lot of small stories with one-shot-characters. It feels lackluster, lazy and like a bunch of stories which were taken out of the closet and re-written a bit to match this time-line. Even the really cool murder mysteries felt shallow and I really wanted to like those! Sub-Char Bellec. Oh please, no.. What a coincidence.. Blabla, pisspot here, pisspot there. Nope. Didn't believe him, not a word from the beginning. Also.. You know, being a main protagonist and for a whole year in-game time in training - one should consider Arno knows the ropes of being an assassin. Maybe unexperienced, but an assassin nonetheless. And this sub-char (an actual mini-baws..) calls him names no matter what Arno does. This is not a satisfying gameplay. I know that killing him in the end was (or was not) worth being called a pisspot for 100000000000 times, but still, it is not ok. At least I didn't like it. I am sure there are players who like to be called a pisspot despite their accomplishments in the actual game. Game-Mechanics. It is hard not to like the AC3 and its game mechanics. Unity just makes it worse. It feels like you are on the testing ground of something new, but it feels old, but different at the same time. In my opinion this here was the testing ground for AC Syndicate controls. Neutral. In its current state in my (subjective) opinion, AC Unity feels unfinished or at least unpolished - like in 'It wasn't made with love despite the fact that we in Montreal are an actual French studio which should know and get a ton of information about the timeline and put it to good use, be it because of love to the franchise or just plain pride (French studio, you know, French era).' It feels more like the majority of time was spent of implementing the Multi-Player part of the game thus hindering the story/mechanics development which brought us to the points I mentioned earlier. Well that's about my review. 60+ (female) gamer out. [link] [comments]

So what exactly was the role of the Assassins and Templars during the French Revolution? Posted: 06 Oct 2020 12:31 PM PDT I tried to replay Assassin's Creed Unity recently and the role of the two main factions has been really confusing me. I didn't get very far (only to the point where you assassinate the king of beggars) but so far it seemed like the assassins are monarchists and the Templar's are more radical. Why is the faction usually more for free will and general anarchist leaning views siding with the king and nobility, while the faction that usually stands for law, order, and concrete power structures siding with revolutionary groups? Assassins's Creed Brotherhood Investments Shrunken Heads Posted: 06 Oct 2020 12:06 PM PDT I'm a completionist, so I really wanna get everything in the game, but getting the Shrunken Heads in Investments for investing 1,000,000 florins for each shop, seems kinda ridiculous, because if I counted well, it would take me ATLEAST 166 HOURS TO GET ALL OF THE SHRUNKEN HEADS (If I would have invested 10,000 florins every 20 minutes). This is incredibly triggering me and I would like to know if there is any easy way to get the Shrunken Heads from the Investments, also I would like to know who thought this was actually a good idea...
